Legalese/Macabees Bid for Cup of Harmony XVIII

Welcome to the Legalese/Macabees bid thread for the Cup of Harmony! We will be discussing the features of our bid below. If you have any questions, please feel free to post them below, or by using TG/IRC to either myself of the Macabees.

Overview:

Since its inception during World Cup IX, the Cup of Harmony has served as a way for RPing nations who did not qualify for the World Cup finals to earn additional KPB points, and receive some extra competition. Now, nearing its eighteenth run, the CoH will continue its place as the second-longest running football (soccer for my fellow Americans) competition in Nationstates, upholding the tradition of bringing the best (and usually newest) RPers together in an action-packed event.

Details:

Format: Teams will be drawn into an even number of groups, with half the groups playing in Legalese, and the other half in the Empire of the Golden Throne. After round-robin play, teams will proceed to the knockout state, with the final to be held at the TitanPlex, in Francopolis, Legalese. The third place matchup will take place in a stadium to be determined in the Macabees.

Scorination: The most recent version of NSFootySim, written by Bedistan, will be used for the competition. The point-based KPB formula will be used, but may be slightly modified, if determined necessary by the hosts before the competition. This program, written in Java, is an example of the most up-to-date scorination methods currently developed, with NSFS reaching the capabilities of Leagion, with a user-friendly interface.

RP Bonus: The goal of the Cup of Harmony is to reward RPing nations who do not advance to the World Cup finals, and as such, the RP bonus will allow a team to improve their rank moreso than it would in the general WC. RPs will be judged for their quality (and to a small extent, their quantity), and will be awarded KPB points. A small carryover of RP points earned during qualifying will also. Of course, no matter what RPing is done, we do remind all teams that luck (in the form of random numbers) is ultimately what decides the results. In short, we want you to make us feel special by participating in our cup.

Inviations: Teams will be invited via TG or IRC by the hosts, at a date following the determination of the EWCC as to who shall host the next CoH. To be invited, teams shall have to have made an RP contribution to the World Cup XXVI qualifiers, and to not have qualified for the World Cup final. There shall be no upper or lower bound on the the number of teams invited. It is also the position of the hosts that if there does need to be a limitation in the number of invites given, main nations that are deserving of invitations will be considered before puppet nations are invited, though puppets will still be welcomed to compete, should they be invited.

Lovely bid from you two!

Of course, now I have to reconsider Chicanada's solo bid to host the CoH since it's pretty much identical to yours

Tonissia: corrected, with my apologies.

Chicanada: thanks. you should consider an AOCAF bid instead, as that's a good starting point, esp. if hosting solo. The usual convention has been to have two hosts for the CoH, P2G's job last time aside.

Also, I forgot to mention this specifically, but due to the nature of the scorinator, as well as the personal opinions of the host, style modifiers will not be used.

If anybody needs any more persuasion on this, read Tonissia's signature; it's just more evidence on my abilities. :p
