MINISTRY FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS
GENERAL DIPLOMATIC GUIDE

This a public domain document, issued for the use of foreign governments, businesses and individuals, for the purposes of better understanding and relating to Rotovia, by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

Society: Rotovia is a nation steeped in over 7,000 years of tradition and it is important to understand that whilst most Rotovian's take a very liberal view to social issues, that ancient traditions still play an integral role.

Men & Women: Based on the traditional filial worship of the God and Goddess (or Emperor and Empress), Rotovia is unique for it's stance on gender relations. For example, many public offices (such as Lord Mayor) must be occupied by both a man and woman.

Classes: Three official classes divide Rotovian Society. However, all Citizens receive equal protection under the law.

Plebe: The majority of Rotovians make up this group. Historically from ethnic groups that were either conquered by the early Empire or migrated into the Empire.
Equestrian: The historical descendents of non-Nobel Rotovians who served in the early imperial armies.
Patrician: The statistical wealthiest of all these groups, made up of the historical descendants of the original Senators. All members of the Senate must be from this class, they also make up the Rotovian equivalent of "grand juries" and receive complete tax exemption.
