Syku Lyku, the Rejistanian-born FALE chairman, stands. "Ladies and gentlemen, as you know, the NSFA Cup is now into its third season. And for the first time, the final of a major club tournament has come to Liverpool England. Sixty-four teams will kick off the qualifying on the road to CCL, which will culminate in the final at the newly expanded National Stadium in CCL. Ladies and gentlemen, may I remind all of you that there will be a live draw for the qualifying round, to take place in the hall (#sport) at 0600 UTC (1 am Eastern) today. Good luck, everyone."
Suazo Islands (or whatever its name was) has ceased, so their teams are replaced by the Krytenia-Jugoslavian teams.

Yeah, but if you look, in both they're playing the same team. They're just double listed, probably from the IRC.
Bedistan

From today's edition of the Bedistan Sports Digest:
Jiwa in local NSFA derby
OREAN, Liverpool England -- The draw for the third NSFA Cup was made today at FALE headquarters and the lone Bedistani representatives in the qualifying round, Sokojiwa Dosi CK, won't have to travel all that far for the away leg, as they head just a little way up the road into Pedriana to face KQ Im. Im, along with nine other Pedrian clubs, played in the Bedistan Football League for several years in the 2070s and '80s, but has not played professionally for a while. Jiwa has "pretty much no chance whatsoever of losing", according to Bedistan Sports Television analyst Mike Green III, and interest is actually expected to be lower than for a regular Bedistan Premier League match as a result.
BSD odds:
Sokojiwa Dosi CK: 1-6
KQ Im: 20-1
Meanwhile, a second Pedrian team is also competing in this qualifying round, as KQ Qas takes on Royston Valley Rovers, from a nation with the abbreviation "MCP". After quite a bit of painstaking research, we discovered that this apparently stands for "McPsychoville". Purely on the basis that we have never previously heard of them, we're going to have to predict that our northeastern neighbors will be victorious.
BSD odds:
KQ Qas: 2-3
Royston Valley Rovers: 2-1
In other news...
Though most of Bedistan is still suffering from widespread failures of communication that have been going on for about four days now, relief is in sight - all infrastructure is expected to be restored "hopefully tomorrow", according to spokespeople, who also added that communication will certainly be restored by Friday.

The Aeropag Tribune—Creators of the Ireland Restoration Project, protecting ancient cities like 쇠울 (Soe-ul)
Sports: Capitalizt team left out of NSFA Cup draw?
LIVERPOOL ENGLAND—After the draw for the qualifying round of the NSFA Cup, 서예헌 (Seo Ye-heon), manager of the New Seoul Cougars, was left wondering where his team would be going. “We’re sure we’re supposed to be in qualifying,” he said to a Tribune reporter. “Of course, we’d like to be moved up in the tournament, but we don’t think that’s what happened.” Another oddity in the draw was the inclusion of a team known as the “New Soeul Cougars,” supposedly a team in COM, which should refer to Commerce Heights. However, there is significant evidence to support the theory that it is a typographical error, and that NSFA really meant that the team is IRL (Ireland), since the team seems to be named after the ancient city of 쇠울 (Soe-ul), once filled with people unable to spell the name of the capital of 한국 (Han-gug), 서울 (Seoul). However, there is no record of a football team based in 쇠울, so many people do not believe this explanation is correct.
서예헌 has announced that he will be filing an official protest with NSFA, and hopes that this situation can be resolved soon.

Can Fireballs rise to the occasion?
The Rising Fireballs of the 1st Division in the MFL and suprise runner ups of the Milchama Cup two seasons ago have now gotten their reward. A qualification round appearance in the NSFA Cup. In this qualification they will get Oliverrian team CS Joyville. According to coach Herman Thomas this is a dissapointment because, "We are both fellow takilans and it saddens me to see two brothers in arms fighting the same menace having to knock each other out so early."
Anyway the Rising Fireballs have realeased their official rosters for NSFA Cup III or at least part of it, (OOC: All MFL rosters got deleted about a month ago so this is all speculation and guesswork.) the part that people care about, the formation, the star player(s) and the style.
The Rising Fireballs will employ a 2-6-2 which is a rather conservative style but they expect their superior midfield to overcome all other obstacles. As coach Thomas put it, " Our midfield carried us to the finals of Milchama Cup two seasons ago and frankly we expect a similar result with this cup." The midfield also carried the Fireballs to a suprise 4th place two years ago and they are currently in 3rd place, fighting with the Desert Foxes and Great Alexandria for the League Title. The style is +1 (if there is a style) as are all Hisisim formations.
The key players for the Fireballs are goalie Marcos Ollins, the recently deposed Milchamian number 2 goalie and strikers Thomas Dennis Moore and Collin Maller will make key contributions for the Fireballs. All the rest of the players are pretty anonymous but Kelly McClark might join the team on defense as they try to beef up for the cup run.
GK: Marcos Ollins- (captain) Formerly the second best keeper in Milchama. Now has lost that job to Clay Finton on the current Milchamian world cup squad. Wants to get the job back and sees the NSFA Cup as his oppurtunity.
D: Lyle Nishmat- The hard nosed defender, seems to make up for a certain lack of abilities with great fundamentals and the ability to be tougher than anybody.
D: Googan Gobbelton III- Mongolian. One of the best Mongolians ever to soccer and one of the only Mongolian in the entire MFL. Outside of that though he's pretty average.
M: Idan Millar- A center mid who makes the offense go. Not really a star but without him the Rising Fireballs would be like Arsenal without Viera. A key player.
M: Naman Terrin- Who? Nobody knows much about this 17 year old who just made it to the first team. Apparently good though.
M: Chan Santa Cruz- His speed on the wing is dazzling. Unfortunately his ball control is not as good or else he would be an international.
M: Bjorn ThomasSon- The Scandanavian midfielder doesn't do much outside of clog up room as a defensive midfielder. He is pretty good at that though.
M: Tal Clark- Tall and good with headers. Starts because of it.
M: Johnleecee Marketee- Mongolian. Very good winger and the typical Mongolian. Fast and good with crosses, not great on the ball or with shooting but sees the field well.
F: Thomas Dennis Moore- The heading striker, leading scorer on the squad.
F: Colin Maller- The dribbling striker. He creates space so that Moore can score. But also is pretty good at scoring himself.

UNITÉ TO KICK OFF AGAINST ARMADILLOS
Chateauguay has "no clue who the heck these guys are"
CHATEAUGUAY - In what promises to be a great day for the green, gold and silver, Chateauguay Unité is poised to take the field in the NSFA cup, the first NMS team to do so.
The only problem is figuring out who the heck the opposition is.
The Mackintosh Armadillos, a team from The Weegies, will be taking the field against Unité, leaving most Chateauguay fans drawing a blank as to the nature of their foes. A sizeable contingent appear to have secured themselves tickets for the away leg, although they probably will be dwarfed by Armadillo loyalists on the trip.
Chateauguay Hall, the newly-built 85,000-seat stadium, will host its first international contest, although not the first in Chateauguay's history. Two WC24 qualifiers were played here, and citizens appear ready to welcome Armadillo fans.
"Sure, we got booked out about two hours after the draw," said Pierre Toutant, a hotel manager across the street from the stadium. "Promises to be a right little moneymaker."
Oddsmakers have been cautious in the face of unknown opposition, giving the Armadilloes the win at a 1-goal spread.
Unité looks to keep with its 3-1-4-2, fairly conservative for an NMS team (most favor 3-5-2 or 2-6-2), but undeniably effective in light of the performance of backs Julien Terrien and sweeper (one of three in NMS professional football) Arnie Goldberg carrying Chateauguay into the tourney. Offense will be provided by forwards Jean Maillard and Richard D'Orleans.

New Karelans and Clean Sheet face 'possible to win' challenges
Karela Ines and Clean Sheet United face challenges, the karelan monks declared to be 'possible to win'. Both teams and nations are not known to the well-informed monks, which means, their relevancy in international soccer is not quite high. This does not mean it is possible that they do make an upset. Both coaches said that the teams will play defensive in order not to concede, but of course would not clarify any further.

Warpstone boss Bert Bridges cursed the draw. He was hoping for something a bit easier, but he sighed as the names emerged. A trip to sunny Registania. Sigh.
With a heavy and despondent heart he picked up his digital dictator to read out his team squad. The dictator was happy to respond, he had not been used for some time, and wondered whether he should take the opportunity to go for a radical font.

Wentland

The Heathens in Europe! Whodathunk it? Unlikely winners of the Cup, they'd had a banner season, indeed the best in their 131 year history. And with their patented "hard team" no-one in Europe would be willing to face them.
"We play with a mixture of flair and brutality," explained manager "Colonel" Frank Saunders to a interviewer for "Football World". "We're not a rich club and can only play with spirit and enthusiasm. We're hard, fair enough, but we're not dirty."
"But you had more red cards last season than any other team in Wentland?"
"Partly due to reputation. If you look at it we didn't have many bookings. Refs were eager to get out the red."
"So what's your squad for the NSFA Cup?"
The Colonel produced a pre-printed press release.
1 Francis Derrington, goalie, 24
2 Ian Langham, right-back, 25 ("cultured right foot")
3 Dennis Marks, left-back, 19 ("genius but short-fused")
4 Pat Hawker, centre-half, 21
5 Blake Wright, centre-half ("six foot fifteen and a former heavyweight boxer, no-one messes with Big Blakey"), 22
6 Matt Dylan, midfield, 28
7 Howard Way, right-winger, 27
8 Mick "Hoppo" Hopkins, centre-forward, 21 ("reputedly a former member of hooligan mob The Mau Maus, but he says that's not true")
9 Martin Smith, centre-forward, 20
10 Joe Weston, midfield, 21
11 Tom Devey, left-wing, 20

INTERNATIONAL EXPRESS!!!
Sikane Sekhika 0 Warpstone 1
Hullabaloo AFC 0 Royal Heath 0
Wentland's first representatives in the NFSA Cup both scored magnificent results last night and both are in position to progress.
Royal Heath were forced onto an almost permanent rearguard action by a sprightly Hullabaloo AFC but kept a clean sheet. Derrington in goal will be pushing for a permanent national team place if he continues with his heroics whereas Blake Wright won the man-of-the-match plaudits for his stifling of the opposing forwards.
If there is any cloud on the horizon it is that the defensive performance meant there was little chance of an away goal - one corner and three shots in the 90 minutes - but the return game at St Edmunds may prove a different kettle of fish.
However, their result was eclipsed by the Stones who stole a victory in Rejistania against all odds. Cosmo Kent's patented swerving dip shot proved the difference, on a rare Stones foray upfield he launched one from 30 yards that bamboozled the goalkeeper and gave Warpstone a vital lead for the home leg at the Warplands. If the three Joes show the same resolution as in the face of the Sikane Sekhika attack at home as they did away, we could be in for an unexpected double win.

"Wait -- we sent teams to the NSFA cup?" was Coach Manni Aka's reply when he had heard that both the Untitled U-Boats and the Untitled Understudies had been knocked out, 3-0 and 4-0 respectively.
Yes, it was true that both had been knocked out.
"With so many players missing to the World Cup, why have the NSFA go on now?" was one confused fan's reply.
Which is a valid point: why have a tournament with so many players out?
"We have 6 players from the U-Boats, and 5 from the Understudies on the World Cup national team," said Manni Aka when asked.
Which explains the result. 11 players gone from two teams of 16? Not the best idea.

Chicanada got a small respite after the poor display in the NSCL, as the Hull City Tigers scored a 2-1 victory at the Palidrome over S.C. N-Berlin to help advance to the Second Round of the NSFA Cup.
The Tigers, who received a surprise promotion to League 1 due to the recent split of Risa-Aramour from Chicanada after the Colonial Assembly approved a relocation vote, are off to join rivals in CFA Cup 1930 Rangers of the Midlands in the Second Round. Ousted sides Cana West FC and Astur City Reds could appear, but the CFA is not as familiar to the NSFA setup as they should be. Expect leadership to be properly flogged later after seeing how many Kodiak Nation clubs qualify.
Of course, the last time Chicanda had three clubs in the Second Round of the NSFA (the last edition) all three - Ashley, FC Esten and NSCL6 Semifinalist Douala - were quickly dismantled. Meanwhile, Township was able to sneak into the Final 16 of NSCL 7.
Expectations on Rangers and Hull are expected to be high, as the CFA want a stronger standing as the nation presses forward towards greater football prestige.

As Earlsford Rangers slide into the next round on the away goals rule, we had a word with Elmo Caldwell.
" How would you say the matches went?"
"Well, we're through. I think that speaks for itself. It's our first attempt at international football with the club, and we entered so lowly to be on the safe side. But we're having a good go at them and might start later next year. Bring on the first round."
"Many people are praising Mcloskey for the victory, what's your take on that?"
"It was a team effort. Though as the coach I have to say that. Mcloskey did play well, and kept a clean sheet when we needed it in that second match. He deserves all the praise he gets."

It was mixed fortunes for the Zucchinis in the NSFA Cup, Romanic going right down to the wire, losing to an extra time goal to Thiel United, Despite Fra di ser Tartini's first half goal. On the other hand, injury hit Anglo FC still managed to breeze past Gluttons United, Malcolm MacFadyen's brace securing Anglo a place in the First Round. MacFadyen is starting to prove his worth on the international club scene, scoring all 3 goals in both qualifying matches. Meanwhile, Bobby Laredo performed miracles in the last match, patching up Anglo's makeshift defence to secure a clean sheet. Of course, his amazing saves will also not be forgotten, neither here nor in the National Team, where he is also proving himself as the rock in defence. As the last remaining Zucchini club in International competition, the pride of the Zucchinis will rest solely on Anglo's shoulders for the rest of this season.

The Rolatian Telegraph
New Millwall crash out on away goals - Redmofo Utd through comfortably
New Millwall are today out of the NSFA Cup, after losing on away goals to Sweet As A Moose FC. This has come as a shock to many - New Millwall were expected to do better than their current performance, especially due to their status as the country's biggest team and the NSCL 4 Rolatian representatives. The team drew the first away leg 0-0, with a series of excellent Ramar saves, and drew the home leg 1-1 with Oliver Morgan netting the Rolatian goal, only to lose out thanks to away goals. The team will now be returning to Rolatia to await the start of the 06-07 season.
Meanwhile, Redmofo United managed against all odds to beat Ajer United by a good margin to become the first Rolatian team to qualify past the first stages of an international competition - a surprise, since Redmofo Utd are one of the only top teams to have no player selected for Rolatia's national team. The crucial goals were strongly assisted by the winger Aaron Syteai, a 23-year-old rising starlet who scored twice - once at home, once away - and set up a further goal in the home match for Gareth Slasaret, one of the three strikers that played in the 4-4-2 across both legs. The other goal came from Stuart Syario, an experienced 26-year-old striker who is currently the main striker for Redmofo Utd.
The four legs were watched by approximately 120,000,000 Rolatians in total, with the Warpstone v Sikane Sekhika watched by another 10,000,000 (most of whom were rooting for Warpstone - Rejistania is not too popular in Rolatia after BoF 26). The national eagerly await the draw for the first round proper.

Sweet as a Moose FC qualified for the first round of the NSFA Cup yesterday evening after a late late Dan Singh-Queen goal put the Meese into the 1st round hat on the controversial away goals rule. The number one ranked side in Elrich, managed by experienced and confused boss Robby Bobson had the Elrichian international to thank after he converted Ringo Bingo's left wing cross to send the Moose through.

Hullabaloo AFC's impressive 2-1 away win at Royal Heath saw the baloons progress into the first round proper. Dom Ino and Nigel Wiggle got the goals which saw Barry Proudfoot's men through against the Wentland side, who had a penalty saved by the impressive Pingue Pongue in the Baloo goal.

Desert Foxes lose to Turncastle Rovers
In a shock loss for many from Milchama, the peoples team the Desert Foxes lost to Turncastle Rovers in the NSFA Cup 2-1 in their first leg tie. The Foxes, one of the two Milchamian competitors in the AOCL, had a good run getting to the second round before losing. Here is their roster:
Desert Foxes
2-2-1-3
GK Tuck Koolerc
D Mark Miller
D Tom Thade
DM Mack Berghoff
Dm Liam Henderson
M Doni Kunalin
Am Bobby Martin
Am Eyal Keller
F Jonathan Corey
F Yaniv Alexander
F Clyde Misterson
Subs:
GK Kennesaw Johnson
F Florence Martin
F Amit Burner
F Kelly Mihm
M Paco Guamul
The Foxes are led by Clyde Misterson their leading scorer and the leading goal scorer in the MFL the past two seasons. Misterson is also the captain of the Collonie Flying Eagles national soccer team.
In the match Misterson scored the first goal for the Foxes as they took the game early to Rovers. After the initial goal the Foxes seemed to get overconfident and played almost defensively. This caused the Turncastle side to take control of the game and the control led to a first goal as scored by a midfielder off a header. The Foxes though could not re turn on the burners they had for the first 20 minutes of the match and soon they again found themselves stuck in their defensive unable to attack. In the 86th minute the hopes of a draw were vanquished when a good pass from a midfielder found Striker I who scored easily to give Turncastle Rovers a 2-1 lead and a 2-1 victory.
In other news Chaialim won 2-0 over the New Seoul Cougars.

Earlsford Rangers battled to a 2-2 draw at the Wrashton Ground today against a team expected to destroy them.
They entertained Winton Market FC, a much stronger side. But with the stadium fully packed with the full 8,100 seats taken and the Rangers notoriously dodgy pitch it was always set to be more of a wrestling match than a football match.
The referee, however, held his own and only a single red was given out in the game. Carl Buehler's sending off early in the second half dampened a Rangers side already 2-1 down. But a flukey late goal saved it, and the Kittens can head to the away fixture knowing they only need to win.
Caldwell had this to say:
"We're not doing so great in the league at the minute. Fourth place is diaster in a twelve team league. But this result will hopefully give the lads confidence that if they can take on the best teams in the world, they can certainly take on Scythe Town. It was a shame about Buehler, and he did deserve to go off for that tackle. I'll be having words with him, but I'm sure he'll be gutted at missing the away game. These players aren't paid enough to go abroad very often, it's like an adventure for them."

NEWSFLASH:
In a match full of surprises, under-strength Anglo FC upset Lylia Foresters with a rare goal from William Owen in the 68th minute, 6 minutes after Wayne Carragher got sent off for a second bookable offense. Anglo manager Bertrand Paine, "Well, it was definately a rather queer game wasn't it? We were the underdogs, with injuries to key players like Frederick, Poulsen, Barry, MacFadyen, against a good international side, they pegged us back the whole of the first half, second half we lose Carra, 6 minutes later Owen scores! They attack even more, we soak up the pressure, Laredo does his job, we hold on for the win. It's quite surreal, really. The thing is we prevented them from scoring the away goal, so we have the slight advantage going into the second leg. Hopefully we'll be as lucky!"
Mama Mia, here we go again!
Moose don't finish off Aba!
Sweet as a Moose FC 2 - 1 Exat Aba
A solid perfomance from Sweet as a Moose on an arguably waterlooged pitch will mean that Robby Bobson's side will take a slight 2-1 lead to Exat Aba for the second leg of their 1st round NSFA Cup tie, but it could have been so much sweeter. A late save from Barney McGrew in the Moose goal only deflected the ball onto the perm of the onrushing Aba number 9 who took a chance took a chance took a chacacachance and headed into the open goal.
Elrichian striker Dan Singh-Queen had previously said that day "I had a dream draw" when paired against the nation where he lived for a few years as a child, and the dream became even sweeter when he latched home to Ringo Bingo's through ball. Midfield Super-Trooper John Spinks doubled the lead with 20 minutes to go but the late Aba goal means the winner takes it all in the second leg!
Manager Bobson had this to say after the match, about the game itself and Bobson's attempts to bring Elrichian international Jeremiah to the Moose Paddock,
"Should I laugh or cry? It was a good game but the visitors got a late goal and we need to watch out in the second leg because we'll be under attack. However when all is said and done we played very well, and the fans were brilliant - Thank you for the music lads!"
"I've had various attempts to sign him but it's a crazy world. It's a rich man's world. My message to the board is Gimme Gimme Gimme, if i had a little money I'd have given him a ring ring and he'd be here right now."
Can the Moose make the 2nd round? Injuries mean there'll be no Ing-Me, no ing-you and no Stan Blueberry.
(OOC - I can't think of any more abba references!)
Will Baloo go through?
Hullabaloo AFC 2 - Deltastarr 1
The other Elrichian side left in the competion AFC Hulaballoo came from behind to gain a shock 2-1 win in the first leg of their 1st round match. A mistake from Pingue Pongue in the Hula's goal gave the away side an early lead but Nigel Wiggle was the starr of the show as his two goals give AFC a good chance of progressing.

NEWSFLASH:
Anglo FC has progressed in the NSFA Cup in a big way, knocking out Lylia Foresters with a thumping 4-1 victory, putting them through 5-1 on aggregate. It was another surprise win given the injury crisis that has hit Anglo, forcing Paine to field a second-string team. And boy did that team reward him, William Owen and Sulzeer Clancy putting Anglo 2-0 up at half time. Another 2 goals from Edward Artin and Elvis Perle flattered the scoreline even more, the match finishing 4-1 and Anglo moving on to the group stages of the NSFA Cup.

Earlsford Rangers have been knocked out of the NSFA Cup in the first round by the classy Winton Market FC.
After holding the opposition to a 2-2 draw at home hopes were high, but it wasn't to be. Winton showed their class early in the first half, with some maginificent displays bagging them a 2-0 lead within the half hour. Rangers were lucky not to concede anymore and went into the tunnel visibly downcast.
What Caldwell said in that dressing room may remain a mystery, and rightly so, as the team that emerged in the second half looked completely different. Two quickfire goals had the scores level at 90 minutes. Extra time was called.
But Rangers weren't letting that slow them down as they smacked in a third. They were heading to the second round. Disaster struck just after the halfway mark in extra time, and Winton once more levelled the scores. Would it go to penalties?
In the end it was decided in a penalty, but of a different nature. With 2 minutes left, searching frantically for a goal, the Rangers keeper made a silly attempt for the ball, and a penalty was given. Placed quietly into the bottom corner, the hopes of the city of Earlsford were placed with it.
As usual, out word with the coach:
"It was a good game, even though we lost. The penalty was unfortunate, and was really caused by how much the lads wanted to win the game. And we did miss Buehler at the back. And this little foray into foreign sports has taught us some things. We'll be back next time, because we're going to bloody win the league. And you can count on an even stronger performance. My half time words shan't be broadcast, but it was just what they needed to hear."

Sarzonia

Raiders plunder Hullabaloo
Most of the 18 man roster of the Rochester Raiders haven't had a sniff of international play, but they sure didn't play like it in their NSFA Cup debut against Hullabaloo AFC, getting a hat trick from former Wild standout Mike Lemke and coasting to an easy 3-1 win to give the team a leg up in Region 6 play.
"I just told the guys to play it like we'd play a league match," Coach Aaron Dyson said. "Just because we're facing a team we've never seen before doesn't mean we can't measure up to the competition. Sarzonia is a good football nation, you know."
Lemke certainly has the pedigree for the NSFA Cup. After he retired from the Wild, he came out of retirement to serve as a player-assistant coach for the Raiders after they joined the Sarzonian Football Confederation as an expansion team. Lemke scored 18 goals in his first season for Rochester and added 14 this year. He had gone his entire 64 game career in Rochester without a three goal game until tonight.
"I was just feeling fit like I haven't in a while," Lemke said. "We were playing to good form tonight and we were playing about as well as you could expect for a first-time team in an international competition."
For their parts, the Raiders didn't play like a team nervous about its international debut. Lemke circulated around the locker room talking to the players. It certainly seemed to pay off with the Raiders playing well.

The Rolatian Telegraph
Redmofo United ready for final NSFA push
The Redmofo United team are tonight training intensively for what could potentially be the most profilic club game of the year for a Rolatian team. The team are currently in the NSFA Cup group stages, where they are currently in with a shot of qualifying for one of two remaining spots. The team are currently bottom of the group, one point adrift of the next-strongest team. However, due to the heavy competition below the first-placed competitor, a qualifying space can be taken by Redmofo United on potentially as little as a draw.
The team will have a tough ride tonight. They play SKA Pamir Dushanbe, a team who went straight into the first round of the competition, winning 2-0 on aggregate. They have already qualified, and are unbeaten at the top of the group. However, there are high hopes in the Rolatian camp, with Redmofo United manager Joshua Olaralimen telling one journalist, "We've already defied all odds just getting here. Rolatia has a reputation for beating the odds - look at us in the first round, or the Rolatian team in the last three WC26 qualifiers - so I'm not going to write us off just yet"
The team has already had a rather glorious campaign. The team won the home leg of their qualifier against Ajer United 2-1, followed by a 2-0 victory away for a surprise 4-1 aggregate win thanks mainly to three goals from Gareth Molanar, who replaced injured Gareth Slasaret up front, while reigning league champions New Millwall crashed out on the away goals rule. They then faced New Brux FC, and after losing at home they won away and on penalties despite odds of 25:1 for their qualification. They then progressed to Group 1, where two losses combined with a surprise against Tuncastle Rovers have left them in the running for a qualifying spot.
The team face a couple of possible winning scenarios. If they win, they're straight through. A draw will put the team through as long as the other game does not end in a draw too. A loss will see them out in last place. Whatever the result, a fair amount of Rolatians will be watching their very own club-level giantkillers in their game.

OOC: excuse my non-RPing, I thought all rejistani clubs were eliminated...
IC:
Even tough the mass media had other things to report, the whole city of Jinhes was behind their Lasane'het. Mayor Hiiru Miaeo got into trouble for ymeti rejistaniha (this term means 'rejistanian efficiency' is a polite term for 'corrupt deals') to get match tickets. The reaction to this was jealousy for having the position for said deals and a tripled number of candidates for the position of the mayor for the next municipal election. Of course the player, who the fans liked most is midfielder Daki Lyku. Being a national player in Rejistania is better than being a film star. Top scorer for the Yellows so far was striker Asahelekimi Ateok~hana with 2 goals. Inketil Ikaru and Jenji Kexiil both scored once.

Tadjiks in the NSFA
By Simon Grinchik, half time sportsjournalist
A most intrigueing evolution this must be, Tadjik teams on top of their groups. How is this possible and why did Regar-TadAZ Tursunzade to repeat the same in the Champions league? Today we look behind the scenes and ask the men behind the clubs to shed some light on current events
First we look into the team thats always around but doesnt seem to be strong enough the take the title in Tadjikistan: Vaksh Qorgontheppa. For those who wish to know, the city Qorgontheppa lies on the banks of the Vaksh river, hence its simple name.
They're well known for their youth team which seems to bring the talent into the club without spending millions of Somoni's on transfers. One such example is Saidomir saradov, a national team player, only 26 and already a star in the Tadjik football scene, Coach Semjon Monhakyiev explains :'Our team isnt just built up with youngsters you know, thats a misconception. We have the 36-year old Daniel Gurchev and the goal and the 34-year old Alexander Morganin to assist him in the defense. Every team needs a healthy dose of experience to keep the young rabble in line.'
'But we do invest alot in our youth, the 19-year old striker Zyrianov is already mentioned as the next Oleg Salenko, he was even selected for the national team. Ok, he was a reserve but even that means he is good.
I dont that its about youth or money, I believe it has to do with organization and tactics, we Tadjiks spend ours at a table, staring at stupid drawings, Hoping we'll find some team setup that'll give us an advantage. I believe thats the only reason we're doing so well.'
So is it tactics that makes the Tadjiks good? Or are there other reasons? Coach Blagoja Samblevski of SKA Pamir Dushanbe, a sports club based in Dushanbe and originated from the old Pamir team thinks it is more than that:'Regar, just like SKA and Qorgontheppa, tries to gain the upperhand through tactics and especially the guys from Tursunzade excell at that. But Regar also spends millions every year to have create 'the perfect eleven', often young boys, who never hard to work for anything, thrown into a life of luxury. They'll play their matches, pick up the cash and dont care about the rest, they often behave as if they're the stars who dont need help from a club or coach. And thats whats wrong with Regar. How else do you explain their losses with people like Salenko and Pliiev running around? Hey, we have our own troublemakers, I'm ready to admit that, but atleast we try to teach them some proper manners.'
'Really? Did he say that?' Is the response I got from coach Baimatov of Regar-TadAz Tursunzade, the current champions, who failed to get past the group stage in the Champions league and are now moving to the FA Cup instead. Baimatov denied that his players were spoiled brats :'Oleg Salenko and Michael Pliiev for instance are normal men who live a sober life, they are not the playboy's you'd see driving around in a Ferrari showing off. I think we're just meeting teams that are as good at tactics as we are and sometimes even better. We just need to evolve and improve wherever and whenever necessary, find a good team with players that form one bloc or machine and put them in a system that will bring out the skills of each player. This year we are having some trouble to make that team, but we're working on it. We spend money on players, those players that we believe, would fit into our image. Maybe the others should worry abit more, what happened to us could happen to them tomorrow.'

Kakrafoon Advance
the Condors advance leaning heavily on Goaltending
Jorge Fernandina, widely recognized as one of, if not the best goalkeeper in Squornshelous played phenomenally in helping his team to advance to the next round of the NSFA cup. Although the defense collapsed when he was rested against Naiba Islanders, allowing four goals, management is not overly concerned. With Jorge's superb play, along with good defending, the team should be able to continue to win low scoring matches. The Condors were able to come up with a pair of very nice shutout wins in this group stage, 1-0 against R'dhuz'lith K'druz'ba of Cockbill Street and 2-0 against Irougil FC of Vilita. There was also a pretty good 3-1 victory over Vanguard Eagles from Fmjphoenix. Hopefully, the Condors can continue this sort of play deep into the tournament.
Spruitland
21-02-2006, 09:17
Due to the 365-day Elvis Presley Tribute Festival – broadcast live on every television channel – international football news has barely reached Spruitland lately. Luckily for sports fans, one King-impersonator, while taking off his blue suede shoes for a minute to massage his feet, was kind enough to pass on the latest results of the Spruitland teams in the NSFA Cup.
Reactions were mixed. Thiel United’s trouncing of a Cockbill Street team which moved them into a qualification spot on goal difference, was naturally received in good spirit.
But Lepus FC’s inability to score against a team from – of all places – Tonissia, resulting in elimination, did not cause quite such a positive reaction. The only thing that avoided a mass scale riot, in fact, was the quick thinking of the artist on stage, who gleefully pointed out that Hypocrian team FC Hypocrium ended dead last in that group with zero points, and then swiftly launched into a “Oh Happy Day” singalong.

Raiders rumble on
The Rochester Raiders don't have the pedigree of the Woodstock Wild, nor do they have the wealth of capped players of the Portland Timbers. They don't even have the experience of the Nicksia Knights or the Saugerties Snakes with international club competition. However, Rochester has one thing at the moment those other clubs don't: A pass into the round of 32 in the NSFA Cup 3.
Coach Aaron Dyson's side have advanced by not changing a thing about their style of play. The team's success could partly be attributed to the emergence of player-assistant coach Mike Lemke as a goalscoring threat in international competitions.
"Lemmer was kind of overshadowed a bit by Brian Wilson in Woodstock," Dyson said. "And he was pretty much focusing on his leadership duties with this group so goal scoring wasn't his first priority. Now, we've been able to enjoy a little success and we're making the most of our time here. We just have to remember to play our brand of football and not get caught up in who we're up against."
The Raiders won Group 6 with two wins and two draws, finishing ahead of Sokojiwa Dosi CK and Watakisikis on points, though their plus-four goal differential would have won a tiebreaker over either side. Dyson was adamant that the team take one day to soak in their win, but then get right back to work "to win the whole bloody thing.
"Sarzonians aren't satisfied with just showing up," he said. "If we compete, we want to win, get the full three [standings points for a victory] and take the trophy home. Second place is first loser in our books."

Chaialim Advance!
Believe or not the NSFA Cup is still going on and right now Milchamian is still involved after the group stage. That's right after a 0-0 with Internashionale of Starblaydia the Soldiers of Chaialim moved thru to the knock out stage of the competition. While they have been flying under the Soldiers had built in impressive record as they got 7 points in 4 games played. These 7 points put them in a tie for second place and advancement to the third round of the NSFA Cup. Coach Jon Lashme said, "While most Milchamians still don't know that we are here I think they will find out when we beat our opponents in the next round. As for right now we are in intensive training and I believe that whoever our next opponent will not be to happy to be playing us right now."
Considering Chaialim is moving up the MFL table I think he might be right.

VILLE-MARIE LAST HOLDOUTS
NMS clubs straggle around, Metropolitaines only holdouts
LIVERPOOL ENGLAND - In what has been a distinctly dismal NSCL/NSFA experience for States football, FC Ville-Marie (the Metropolitaines) are the last holdouts amongst the four clubs sent into the fray by the NMSFL.
The Virgin City squeaked into second place in their group of five, and were rewarded with the chance to face a much superior washout from the NSCL. Nobody's holding out much hope for the Black and White as a distinctly mediocre showing by star forwards Guillaume Beaupré and Sasha Bulganov have left the offense in a day-to-day condition, with no improvement in sight. Midfielder Christian Fabre has picked up some of the slack with 3 goals over the tourney, but many questions remain for what was one of the most consistent offenses in the Coastal Conference.

When Anglo FC face SKA Pamir Dushanbe, Bobby Laredo will only have one thing on his mind. "It's time for revenge. What I failed to do for the National team, I will do for Anglo FC." He is refering of course to the Zucchinis' 3-1 loss to Tadjikistan in the Group Stage of World Cup 25. It was the only loss the Zucchinis suffered in the World Cup proper, so it seems natural that Laredo would want to set some records straight. "When I go out there, there will be a special fire in my eyes. I'm gonna fight for my club, and I'm gonna do it with a clean sheet." When asked if there's any personal animosity between him and Tadjikistan, he denied it. "Naw, nothin' personal, just a professional attitude towards the match, we wanna win every match and we wanna win it bad."

Old rivalries
By Simon Grinchik, part time sportsjournalist
Blagoja Samblevski expected more but a 1-1 draw was all the Pamir team could pull out of the fire and this was only the result of some luck when trying to get past the Zucchini defenders. Fortunatly, Bahrom Zuhurov, who recently quite the national team managed to get one shot in the Anglo FC box.
Samblevski noticed how vigourous Anglo FCs goalkeeper defended his box "It seemed as if it was his own child he had to protect. Someone he can singlehandedly make a match as stunning as this one should be on every scouts priority list. I'd hire him imediatly, offcourse his performance has to be constant and he'll have to do equally good in out next match in Giant Zucchini".
In the meantime, the other Tadjik clubs won their matches, though once more Regar-TadAZ Tursunzade struggled to get that win secured, as they went up against Dynamo Rasium from Hypocria. Only with a penalty taken by Michael Pliiev could they save their own skins late in the second half.
Qorgontheppa on the other hand, had no problems with Roosters FC from Tonnisia, beating them 3-1 in Qorgontheppa with Saidomir Saradov as the engine behind the whole Machine, scoring two goals and giving an assist for a third goal by the young Zyrianov. Coach Monhakyiev was pleased to see his young boys play a good match "This is the stuff that we need. we managed to do better than any other Tadjik club around, proof that we are among the topclubs of Tadjikistan. All we have to do is finish this off with a win and hope that we get to meet another one of those top teams from another country, then we can stunt and win or lose and return home as hero's for getting this far."

Eels? Eagles? Don't care!
The Jinhes Lines team defeated the Vanguard Eagles, listed as Eales in the official documents. The Yellow Menace played an highly counter-attacking style against the rather dominating Eagles. The Rejistanians used a 5-3-2 relied on their defense for most of the time, but the sudden "hetaki'ny" were a thread to the Eagles, whoplayed a 3-5-2. One of these attacks led to the only goal of the match: Asahelekimi Ateok~hana scored in a counter-attack in the 73rd minute of the match. Later comedians said: "Good thing Asahelekimi Ateok~hana didn't score in an away game, otherwise, the stadium speaker will decide to go on strike!" Except for this one goal, the goalkeeper of the Eagles, Arete'he had a quiet day: Due to the few chances, only a few shots were dangerous: in the 30th minute, he parried the other big chance of Jinhes: a counter-attack by Lyku. Mcalister'he nearly equalized in the 80th minute, but keeper Hiti'he was able to tip the ball over the bar.

Raiders move on while Wild go home
When the eighth NS Champions League and the third NSFA Cup began, most smart money in Sarzonia predicted the perennial Sarzonian Football Confederation champion Woodstock Wild would be the team advancing through to the latter stages of the club championships while the Rochester Raiders were predicted to go home empty handed.
Guess the money wasn't so smart after all.
Despite playing to a 1-1 draw at Rochester's Pirates Cove, the Raiders scored the game's only goal courtesy of their international club play veteran, forward Mike Lemke, and defeated Chaialim 1-0 in front of a disappointed Chaialim crowd.
"We just went out there loose and ready to go," Lemke said. "I told the guys to just have fun out there and enjoy the experience of playing in Milchama. We just have to make sure we keep ourselves out of trouble trying to get out of that place. It's like a war zone in there."
Fitting for a team named the Soldiers, perhaps, but the Raiders are hardly accustomed to playing in that sort of territory. Then again, with the team's recent beginning, they're not accustomed to this level of success, and certainly not with the Woodstock Wild not taking part in the Champions League.
"We know we're the last hope for Sarzonian football," Lemke said. "Let's use that as our rallying cry." And do what the Wild did during the first-ever AO Champions League: Win the whole thing.

Tadjiks hold on
By Simon Grinchik, part time sportsjournalist
SKA Pamir Dushanbe hoped to make the difference in the away match but remained unable to take the match in their own hands for 120 minutes, thus the decision as to which club was moving on had to come from the penalties. Coach Samblevski was happy with his qualification to the next round: 'Well, the Zucchini's fought hard and showed some real spirit, I was really glad that we won and the struggle came to an end. If he wants, Anglo FCs goalkeeper is always welcome to visit us to discuss a contract, We're willing to offer him 3 million a year salary and a contract for 4 years. I can always use a good goalkeeper, especially with the upcoming match against Thiel Utd, a side I barely know.'
The other Tadjik clubs had a bit more luck in their matches, Regar-TadAZ Tursunzade tied to Dynamo Rasium, but the Tursunzadans move on. Michael Pliievs penalty from the away match proved crucial for them to make the difference. Coach Baimatov was pleased but noted that there was still work to be done before the next match against Talbott 'Yes, the fans are happy with their clubs victory and qulification to the next round, but I am not. Basicly, we are moving on because some Hypocrian player made a mistake in the first match, We've been lucky. And if we dont get our act together, then I'm afraid we'll be out of the Cup soon.'
The only team where there noone worried about the future was Vaksh Qorgontheppa, both Zyrianov and Saradov showed themselves the new stars of the Tadjik Premier league with brilliant moves and two wellearned goals.
Zyrianov scored with along distance shot after breaking away from his guards and outrunning them, driving a shot under the Tonissian goalkeepers legs. Saradov used a more conventional way to score, with the help of Lavr Kornilov he worked his way past the Tonissian defenders and finished off his assault with a shot high in the left corner.
And although the Tonissians were able to bring the score back to 2-2, the Qorgontheppans remained calm. They knew the Tonissians had to score atleast 3 goals to get even.
Daniel Gurchev gave his opinion: 'We came to New Richmond knowing we had the upperhand. Rooster FC had to attack us and we let them, we took advantage of their offensive style, Saradov and Zyrianov did the rest. I dont know whether thats going to work against those Sarzonian Raiders. I'll let the coach figure that out, but as far as I'm concerned, I'll do everything in my power to block all Raider attacks. Even in their own Pirate Cove, I'll give them a match they'll never forget.
Daniel Gurchev, Saidomir Saradov and Zhenya Zyrianov are one reason to keep track of this team, the other is their excellent record so far, all of this is fielded against a team from the one of the worlds strongest leagues. Certainly this will be the 'match to watch'.

NEWSFLASH:
Bobby Laredo has agreed to a contract by SKA Pamir Dushanbe, which will keep him at the Tadjikstani club for 4 years. Laredo, once considered the best goalkeeper in Giant Zucchini, holds the national record of most number of international clean sheets, and is willing to take the next step in his club career. "I'm approaching the prime of my career, I'm 28 now and by the time the contract is over I'll be 32, it will be an absolute dream to be the first modern Zucchini to take part in a foreign transfer, especially for a club as established as SKA." His transfer is now only awaiting a medical before it is completed.

Laredo to Dushanbe
SKA Pamir Dushanbe gets one of its first foreigners in many years, as Zucchini goalkeeper Bobby Laredo accepted Blagoja Samblevski's 4-year contract with royal 3 million salary. For the club as well as for Samblevski an important move 'Unlike our fellows in Qorgontheppa and Tursunzade, we've been working with inexperienced young goalkeepers, now finally we have an experienced goalkeeper that allows us to match the other clubs and rebuild our defenses. With some luck, our club could get to the next phase. Once he's had his medical check, I'm gonna field him. Hopefully it'll come in time for the return match against Thiel Utd. I can always use a good goalkeeper in an away match.'
The only team that was able to win its match this round was Regar TadAZ Tursunzade, the club that was critisized for its excessive spending and lack of success in the Champions league. While they did quite a good job in their first NS Champions League participation, this year it was over sooner than they expected.
But now it seems they are the only ones who can win their away match and keep their chances at qualification to the next round clean. Their success was mostly a result of Oleg Salenko's marksmanship as Salenko drove a free kick over the Talbott wall, turning the ball into the upper corner of the left box.
For the Tursunzadans and important win, but they remain realistic, Baimatov summed up his clubs chances :'The next match is at home, a good advantage that we must exploit. But we must remain cautious, our opponent has nothing to lose and will most likely play a very agressive style'
Pjotr Monhakyiev, Vaksh Qorgontheppa's coach was not as generous with comments on his teams performance; 0-0 against Sarzonian Rochester Raiders :'They're quite good, we barely penetrated their defenses and when we did, we could not finish off our moves. We are now focussing on the return match, where we can depend on our own fans. The team will remain mostly unchanged and my tacics for that match will remain secret until then.'
Offcourse most experts believe Monhakyiev will make his team work in service of Saradov and Zyrianov, the two extremely important strikers. Rumours also have it he will field a new young talent Rahmon Nabiyev asthe surprise element. Noone in Monhakyievs professional circle dared to confirm or deny the rumours.

PANTOCRATOR REACH NSFA CUP QUARTER-FINALS
"It's a Miracle!" Claims Leading Supporter
An astonishing 2-0 away victory - following a brace from Fr. Zeno - was enough to send Pantocrator MFC into the NSFA Cup quarter-finals despite a subsequent 1-1 home draw to Fmjphoenix side Ariot Lupes.
Leading Pantocrator supporter Fr. Hippolytus the Stylite later claimed that his favourite team's form could only described as miraculous, and moves are said to be underway to have his column moved inside the stadium by his more devout followers so he can watch the forthcoming match in person.

Pamir Team Out!
They had spent millions on their new goalkeeper and trained like madmen but it wasnt enough. The one team that was leading the Tadjik teams in the NSFA Cup, SKA Pamir Dushanbe is out. Spruitlands Thiel Utd seemed a bit too strong for them, even with a brandnew goalkeeper in their box and an excellent defense line. Coach Samblevski had the answer ready:Right now, we have the best defense in the whole Tadjik league. The one thing we are missing now is a good offense, a couple strikers like the Qorgontheppa's Saidomir Saradov. And a couple of good midfielders would be more than welcome too.
We managed to hold on for so long, remained unbeaten during the group stage and look at us now, just when we were working on our team we got kicked out. Dont worry, we'll take our revenge in the domestic league.'
With SKA Pamir Dushanbe gone, the honour of Tadjikistan rests in the hands of the two remaining clubs: Regar TadAZ Tursunzade and Vaksh Qorgontheppa.
The Tursunzadans turned their homematch in a spectacular 4-2 victory.
Daniele Priore, the only strong striker left in the Tursunzadan team since Salenko's retirement did most of the scoring with the help of Micheal Pliiev and Daniel Kirponos, grandson of Daniel Kirponos senior former international. With their succes Coach Baimatov responded to what Blagoja Samblevski said a while ago about his stars: 'Now he is the one spending millions on new players, making stars of them. Tursunzade still has a very good team, a team that reached the Quarter finals of the NSFA Cup.'
The second Tadjik club that survived round four is Vaksh Qorgontheppa, a strong side that managed to stay in the running and even beat one of the main contenders for this Cup, the Rochester Raiders.
Pjotr Monhakyievs men had never been this far in any non-Tadjik Cup, thus they had a good reason to fight for every ball. And thats exactly what they did.
The Sarzonians were good and dominted the first half of the match, but the Tadjiks held their backdoor closed. Daniel Gurchev had to make alot of interventions and at times, it seemed as if he was all that stood between the Raiders and the goal.
In the Second half, the tide turned in Tadjik favor. The Qorgontheppans now forced the Sarzonian side into the defensive and ended what had begun as a thriller with two goals in four minutes. Saidomir Saradov claimed the first one; a shot that deflected of the leg of a raider, putting his goalkeeper on the wrong foot. the second goal was written behind Zyrianovs name, a long distance shot by Peter Zverev bounced of the right pole into Zyrianovs feet, who instantly kicked it away into the left corner of the Sarzonian box.
Qorgontheppa's new talent, Rahmon Nabyiev, played for only twenty minutes in the second half, when he replaced a slighty injured Saradov, but his presence did not result in new scoring opportunities.
Once the match was over, thousands of Qorgontheppan fans flooded the field, even taking their own team by surprise. They dissapeared and were not seen in the lockerrooms for about an hour. Lavr Kornilov however, did not return to the lockerroom, he was later spotted in a bar outside the stadion.

Spruitland Side Defeated 1-0
The surely miraculous progress of Archregimancy side Pantocrator MFC continued overnight as a late penalty from captain and national team star Fr. Dmitri the Humble saw the squad defeating Spruitland team Thiel United.
The column of leading team fan Fr. Hippolytus the Stylite had been moved into the ground before kick-off, and he often led the crowd in prayerful supplications for victory against their opponents.
"It's a dream come true!" said Fr. Hippolytus - who mounted his column some 42 years ago this past week. "Here's hoping the lads can shock the international football community and reach the semis!"

Among Tadjiks
By Simon Grinchik, part time sportsjournalist
We are certain about one thing today, a Tadjik club will reach the Semi finals, you ask why? Becaue Regar TadAZ Tursunzade and Vaksh Qorgontheppa play against eachother in the Quarterfinals. Neither of the two clubs complain about that situation, it is something that suits them both, Pjotr Monhakyiev explains; 'This means we will always have the maximum number of fans around during the away match and that we are playing in a climate that we are familiar with, the Tadjik climate. What I'm not so happy about is that we play against Regar, still champions of Tadjikistan.'
Those champions were certainly the stronger side today in Tursunzade, where they beat their Tadjik rivals 2-1, with Daniele Priore and Michael Pliiev in the role of scorers. The only Qorgontheppan goal was made by Saidomir Saradov, who played an excellent match and once more proved why he is the nr10 of his club.
That same Saradov is the person the Qorgontheppans depend upon to get the door to the semi finals open, 'With the home advantage on our side we must take the three points, a single goal is already enough to do the trick. And thats why we're gonna need Saradov and his mates' Monhakyiev said.

Regar draws longest end
By Simon Grinchik, part time sportsjournalist
The club that failed to get through to the knock out stages of the Champions league seems to have returned in the world of the living as they beat the only other Tadjik team left in the NSFA Cup and move on to the Quarter finals. Vaksh Qorgontheppa was strong enough to remain unbeaten in their own stadion, although they came close to a loss when Tursunzadan Daniele Priore scored the first goal of the match.
Vaksh Qorgontheppa, wealthy when it comes to offensive power, equalized in the second half when the young Rahmon Nabiyev broke through on the left flenk and scored after showing some excellent passes in cooperation with Peter Zverev and Lavr Kornilov.
Too little, too late it appeared. The Tursunzadans protected their goal with their lives for the last fifteen minutes and returned home knowing they were in the Quarter finals.
Regar will face the Kaze Progressan club Texat Aba, mostly known for kicking Starblaydian club Internashionale out of the Cup. Coach Baimatov kept both feet on the ground and said it would be dissapointing if it went wrong now 'So close to the finals, we will do whatever is in our power to get there. Not that i'm gonna be careless, any team that can get this far is a team to be feared.'

Tursunzade holds on
By Simon Grinchik, part time sportsjournalist
The Tursunzadans, though they played at home, could not take their distance from Kaze Progressan based Texat Aba. They charged the Progressan box several times and scored twice, but each Tadjik goal received a Progressan goal as answer. The Tadjiks must win or draw with atleast 2-2 to have any chance of going to the finals where they will most likely meet Pantocrator, the team from The Archregimancy.
According to Michael Pliiev 'They were superior to us as they scored as many goals as we did in a stadion filled with Tadjik fans. We have to perform a miracle in Kaze Progressa or we will drop out of the NSFA Cup. Well, I must admit that I enjoyed getting this far, even a draw would mean we can return home with our heads up. Few teams have ever been as far as we have.

The miraculous progress of Pantocrator MFC through the NSFA Cup reached a new level overnight as, following their dramatic victory over Spruitland side Thiel United through a stoppage time equaliser from Fr. Zeno, the squad were drawn against a team from fellow Orthodox nation New Montreal States.

DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?
Of Course You Do - Otherwise You Wouldn't Live in the Archregimancy
Pantocrator MFC last night hosted their Orthodox brethren from New Montreal States club side CF Ville-Marie in a semi-final clash to decide who would reach the NSFA Cup final in the cavernous National Stadium in CCL.
Pantocrator's home stadium, one of the smallest in the Monastic League, has been a fortress for the monks throughout the competition.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a319/vakraas/panto.jpg
Exterior of the West Stand of the Miracle-Working Icon of Our Lady Gerontissa
Unlike some opponents, however, who have been fazed by the home supporters' fervent polyphonic chant, the Orthodox New Montrealers felt right at home. "It's just like being at Church!" said one leading opposing player.
That comfort with their surroundings was soon demonstrated as the visiting team threw everything at Fr. Polycarp's goal, but the custodian of goalkeeping righteousness repelled everything.
At the conclusion of the heavily one-sided 0-0 draw, the home monks sank to their knees in prayerful thanks to the Lord.
"We certainly won't be underestimating Regar-TadAZ Tursunzade" wrote team captain Fr. Dmitri the Humble. "They're a top side who deserve to have made it to the final. But through God all things are possible...."
Concern has been raised, however, that not a single Pantocrator supporter will travel to the final as the non-footballing monks of Pantocrator monastery are reluctant to leave their home during the Lenten season.

PANTOCRATOR WIN NSFA CUP
Sunday Ouzo and Vodka Rations Doubled
In result that has surely shaken World Football to its roots, Archregimancy club side Pantocrator MFC won the NSFA Cup overnight in the very first season that Archregimancy sides were entered into international club competition.
In a thrilling cup final, Pantocrator defeated Regar-TadAZ Tursunzade of Tadjikistan 1-0 despite playing nearly half the match with only 10 men, and despite not a single Pantocrator fan travelling the Dreamed Realm to attend the match.
The controversial start to the match saw Fr. Hippolytus score in the 6th minute despite furious calls for off-side from the Tursunzade bench.
The infuriated Tadjik side attacked the Pantocrator goal for the remainder of the first half, but it seemed as if the monastic goal was blessed as shot after shot scraped the woodwork or was somehow turned away by a divinely-inspired Fr. Polycarp.
The second controversial moment arrived when star Tursunzade forward Daniele Priore was brought down by Fr. Innocent on the edge of the area. Despite the Pantocrator player denying any guilt, and even though the alleged offense clearly happened outside the area, the referee sent Fr. Innocent off and awarded a penalty.
Shouts of horror were heard from the Tursunzade players, however, when star forward Daniele Priore sent the penalty wide of the goal.
The second half of the final was surely one of the most one-sided in NSFA Cup history as the Tadjiks laid siege to the Pantocrator goal with team captain Fr. Dmitri the Humble expertly marshalling his troops. Unlike the walls of Jericho, however, the monastic defence held, and four minutes into injury time, when the final whistle blew, the Pantocrator players burst into a spontaneous celebration of the divine liturgy, interrupted only by the team accepting the trophy with a prayer of thansgiving on their lips.
Pantocrator monastery is believed to be doubling its monks' ouzo and vodka allotment this Sunday in celebration.
