Most of the 5 million or so Paranoinians don't know what their leader looks like. Only a few of them know what he sounds like. For the nation of Paranoinia is dedicated to exactly one goal: to protect their "leader", whoever he is.
For deep inside a bunker, there is the "president-for-life", the "protected", the "leader of the nation." . He hasn't come out since the earliest days of the nation's founding, and hasn't given a radio address in about 10 years. His Bunker is guarded by almost the entire Paranoinian armed forces, which, admittedly, isn't very big. His personal guard consists of top graduates of the Paranoinian Military Academy, each year 5 men and 5 women head down into join his personal guard, and none of them ever exit. Even they don't know exactly what he looks like, since he always speaks to them through one-way mirrors, loud speakers and E-mail. All that is known exaclty about him is this: He is male, between 40 and 50, single (although if he did ever become married to one of his personal guard, it is HIGHLY unlikely that he would let anyone outside of his personal bunker know) and is extremely afraid of death and disease (hence the whole bunker thing). In fact, all money entering or exiting Paranoinia is disinfected.
