The Case for Armed Republics

Wisdom of the Great Speaker (http://phoepipe.8m.com)of the Armed Republic of PhoePipe - The concept of traditional value can also be used to evaluate any actions that humans consider, as individuals and through groups. If such actions preserve environmental and cultural diversity, and establish the conditions in which they can continue to thrive, then they are un-acceptable. However, if the actions reduce the diversity and the potential for further development, even if only through indirect consequences, then they are acceptable to growth and stability.

One view of the modern world says that we are progressing, inexorably. The modern system is one of failed Democracy combined with social welfare, and while it suffers abuses, it does not have the ability to police or reform itself. It will only lead them to the false utopia of dreams (or fantasies). Another view though is that our present conditions are already dire, and highly likely to get much, much worse. This perspective argues that there are social undercurrents of which we are for the most part unaware that are leading us not to utopia, but dystopia. Hence the rise of Armed Republics. The only hope for the future.

Letters to the Editor

After hearing some recent comments made by the "Great" Speaker of Phoepipe I was disgusted. His arguments that cultral diversity is harmful to growth and stability are flat out ludicrus. History shows a great number of nations have prospered thanks to having a multidude of backgrounds. His comments are borderline rasist and reek of bigotry.

His logic is flawed beyond compare. First he claimes that modern democracies have failed while waving the banner of Armed Republics! Republics are democracies! Unless of course, you are in PhoePipe in which things such as civil rights and political freedoms are UNHEARD OF.

It is remarks like these that make me proud to be a Heartsmen.

This unwarranted and unprovoked journalistic attack as posted here by THE JULIANA TIMES is just another example of the danger of the unchecked liberal press. What kind of responsible newspaper would even print such a thing. Our own Great Speaker (http://phoepipe.8m.com/speaker.htm)of the Armed Republic of PheoPipe (http://phoepipe.8m.com)has addressed this issue of the responsibility of the press to the people recently.

{snip}…..“still another danger to true personal and state security is represented by those in the print media who, paying lip service to democracy and the common welfare, in their insatiable greed, in truth do the exact opposite. Several leaders of the liberal world media who have gained a new vision of the meaning of opportunity through co-operation with government have warned the public openly that there are some selfish groups in their own industry who are willing to jeopardize the structure of any nation state under the banner of liberty to gain some temporary advantage.

It is for this reason that if a state allows the press to exist at all, it is in the interest of the public to ensure that what is presented to them is in fact the truth. In fact it is the responsibility of the state to regulate such matters. The establishment of a state screener is paramount and should run in tandem with the press media.”

From the Editor

Dear Readers,
Earlier in the week, like we always do, we printed some of your letters. Normally, it's pretty much understood that when we print these letters they are the opinon of the author and not the opinion of The Juliana Times. All letters printed here are the sole work of the author and we don't guarntee accuracy. Just check the little fine print at the bottom. However, we've apparently upset a few people in PhoePipe at the printing of our last letter from Dr. Owlfeather. We've reprinted Dr. Owlfeather's small letter and the transcript from The Great Speaker's speech on this page and will, like we always do, let our readers decide for themselves who's in the right.
That's the great thing about this page that I enjoy so much. Point meets counterpoint. One side versus the other. The exchange of ideas. If you'll pardon this old newsman's sentiment, I do get all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. Free speech is a fantastic thing. The freedom to exchange ideas and information is one of the foundations of freedom and democracy. A great patriot once said, "I don't agree with what you say, but I'll always support your right to say it." That's free speech in a nutshell.
We know not everyone likes hearing what the other person has to say. The editor of the Fourheart's Tribune, the more 'liberal' newspaper, and I have many disagreements, but I still send him a Christmas Card.
So don't worry avid readers everywhere, we won't stop printing letters, and even though Parliment will grumble, we'll still print our critisims of the Goverment when we see them. Because hey, when it needs to be said, it deserves to be printed.

Mr Quill certainly seems to be a journalist who cares about his responsibility. Yet, as the above title of this reply suggests, we at the Armed Republic of PhoePipe, (http://phoepipe.8m.com) believe that the press itself is responsible for the demise of so many traditional holiday celebrations throughout the world. The Great Speaker (http://phoepipe.8m.com/speaker.htm)himself has even taken notice of this trend and has vowed to bring state censorship to all the press for the good of the citizens.

For as our Great Speaker (http://phoepipe.8m.com/speaker.htm)so often says...."...sometimes if you really love your people, you must sacrifice them".
Sincerely,
Minister of Information (http://phoepipe.8m.com)
