Subterranean Temple,
four kilometers Beneath Hauptstad der Herrenrasse
Present Day....
The two Iraqstani guard snap to attention as a young man, barely into his teens walks swiftly and confidently down the almost alien designed tunnel to the door only recently repaired and fitted with Iraqstani technology, technology that is painfully lacking compared to the rest of this massive structure.
Nodding to the men Lidric waves his hand in front of a specialized motion sensor and steps through the faintly hissing doors as they open and into a large, cavernous room. A single light as bright as the sun shines from the roof of this space, a miniature sun shining constantly beneath the setting and rising son of the Iraqstani motherland, a hallowed ground beneath sacred lands....
Looking up one can only just faintly make out the ornately carved roof of the temple above and above that stretches four kilometers of rock, soil, paved roads and Iraqstani buildings and people. Beneath all this, existing for countless years this temple has been hidden unknown to all and only discovered thanks to the fortunate scanning of a mining droid searching for new mineral deposits beneath the soils of The National Socialist Union.
Rushing forward three men snap their hands out in front of them, the traditional Iraqstani salute, accompanied by the traditional 'Ruhm dem Führer!'* Returning their salute Lidric nods for them to walk with him as he approaches the central attraction of an already eye opening wonder.
Towering above, almost touching the roof of the temple above it stands a glinting black robotic lion, it's head resting almost royally against it's front paws the metallic glint of it's clawed paws resting at the edge of a ceremonial moat of water which flows around the massive lion almost as if warding off evil and danger from this deadly creation.
"Tell me Doctors, what have you discovered of this... temple and this machine?" Lidric asks them quietly, his eyes transfixed upon the massive data cables, power cables, ladders, ropes, cranes and other systems of transport, elevation and supports that snake around the lion and rest against the left rear leg. "We have discovered much mein ReichsFührer mainly that this lion was part of a unit with four others of it's kind, though similar the other four are less impressive, we are having troubles translating the basic used as it differs significantly from what we're used too.
But the basic tale behind this impressive creation is a force that none have been able to defeat, a defender if you will of justice and an enforcer of the peace. When a planet yes a planet reichsführer. When a planet sent out a distress call this team of people and their robotic lions would respond, fighting back the aggressors with ease.
From what we have uncovered from this temple, they were posted on a planet in the deep outer regions of space called Aris.. They were sent to earth when Aris was destroyed by the forces of.. Planet Doom, we think this is what the natives of this Aris called the home world of their enemy someone they call Lord Zarkon.
When the lions came to earth they left behind the remains of a crumbling galactic alliance, the lions separated each one heading to different parts of our solar system, we have located one other so far on the orbiting body Nereid in the Neptune zone, IMC miners uncovered it during an expansion project for the colony there.
They have been studying it but only uncovered it's secrets when we uncovered this one, the records here indicate that each lion was of a different colour and each represented certain aspects. For instance this black lion it is rumored was powered by the lightning from the mighty storms on Aris, the lion found on Nereid powered by the strong flowing waters of the lake around the castle of lions on Aris, there are records of a Green lion living and feeding off of the winds of the planet aris a red lion who was powered by the volcanic fires of Planet Aris' active volcanoes and a yellow lion, who was powered by the mighty dust storms that raged in the Aris deserts.
Much of this we have translated from records held here, dates unfortunately we cannot seem to decipher all that we can tell is that some time in our near past these beings descended upon Earth and buried this lion and this temple, the only remains of the Castle of Lions beneath Iraqstan and the other lions were split up amongst the planets each one being sent to a place that could keep it safe from the forces of evil." Listening Lidric stares in awe at the mighty lion as above him technicians lower a massive crystal down into a spot that only a crystal could of come from.
"They are replacing the power crystal with one we managed to create using the records in this temple's computers sir." The second doctor says softly, noting Lidric's interest in this lion. "We have been studying the most recent updates to the lion force's automatic programming, as we believe the original err pilots of these ships were killed on Planet Aris, we feel that if we power up this lion, the others will receive a signal if they are still powered and they will be called too, they will respond and return to their lead lion.
We have also uncovered records that these five lions could merge together creating a unified machine, capable of defeating even the most stubborn of enemies. Loose translations and we may be wrong with this named this robotic being Voltron, and the people of Aris and the galactic Alliance celebrated this machine with much love and affection."
Turning to look at the doctors Lidric stares at them in astonishment for a moment before nodding slowly "Then this Voltron will be the new shining symbol of Iraqstani purity, a gift from the gods proving that we are the racially elite, you will begin in earnest doctors to repair and power up this mighty machine for the Union and the people of Iraqstan require a new defender of their purity, and I think this voltron will be it..."
