War

The Damned People

This is entirely arbitrary: Which nations are up for a war? We can compile a list of nations ready to engage in warfare, then decide on a proper list of reasons for going to war, and then allow our wishes to manifest themselves and engage in full warfare.
Haraki

I may well be up to it. For old times' sake, of course.

I have a couple of countries I'd like to attack, invade, or annex.
The Damned People
10-12-2005, 07:05
Well, the offer is open to anyone. For old times' sake, of course. Sometimes, you just gotta have a war.
Stevid

I've never had the houner of rping with you TDP, even when you were still here all those many many many months ago.

I'm up!

Shame we already going to war in the near future Stevid.
Midlonia
10-12-2005, 12:23
I'll go for it, I got some weapons I could do with writing about in an RP, that and I'm in the mood for a scrap or two.

Good. Now, let's begin by deciding on an international incident that could cause a war between our nations.

How about a Tonkin Gulf incident?

How about a Tonkin Gulf incident? One of the sides performs imperialistic aggression against a technologically backward nation?

If War is Declared upon Stevid, then War will be Delcared Upon Kurona.

I'm always open for a war. You can add me to a list, but I might not be able to make it unless I'm told in advance.
The Damned People

Fair enough. We can turn this into a regional conflict if we want. My region ("Power", which anyone can apply to join) is open to entrants or opposers.

No way! This whole thread is just a trick to get a regional advratisment onto an RP forum!

No... It's not. I want to have a war. If you would rather throw a hissy fit about your space being infringed by my proposal to turn it into a regional conflict in order to enrich the 'plot', then take it somewhere else.

Entsteig is prepared for a modern-tech war.

So here's a list of participants:

You forgot me. I'd like to join to help me get back in the swing of things.

Cool. So we're set. Shall we pick sides?
Haraki
12-12-2005, 04:15
Yeah, I don't see why not.

Just so everybody knows, I'm not counting this as an actual war for the purposes of my nation's history. I have plenty of what's going to happen planned out for the near future, so if this war does actually fall in it will happen in the future, not the near future. It's more just me RPing a war using my nation but not in the ongoing story of my nation. That being said, let's all have fun and destroy each other.

Flattered i'm sure

So here's a list of participants:

Stevid
The Selesnyans

Guffingford

I don't think Guffingford applied.

Yeah, I don't see why not.

Same here, that so it doesn't clash with my Guffingford engagement.

Cool. I agree that it shouldn't impact on history/timeline. So how's this division:

Haraki
The Damned People
Midlonia
Yurka
Wutthefuchistan

Stevid
Kurona
Selesnyans
Ensteig
Haraki
12-12-2005, 21:52
That division's fine with me. Also, as for a story, how's this?

A nuclear-powered and ballistic missile-carrying submarine (From, say, me or Nik) gets beached during a storm/captured by coast guard/somehow obtained by a smaller, non-nuclear armed nation on the other side. Then, of course, there are such problems as: Why was it there? What will happen now that the smaller nation has sudden nuclear stuff in their arsenal? And, finally, to what lengths are the nations willing to go to to accomplish their own goals? I.e. What would I do to get back this submarine, what would they do to keep it and reverse-engineer it, and who all will take what side?

I dunno. Any other ideas are great, this was just the first one that popped into my mind.

If it's not too late, I'd like to join too, probably on Stevid's side since we've worked together and since that side is one nation short.

Does anyone mind if my navy is PMT??
The Damned People
12-12-2005, 22:23
PMT?

Haraki's story sounds pretty decent. Let's get some OKs, and then we can start.
Pschycotic Pschycos
12-12-2005, 22:58
PMT stands for post-modern tech. It's basically what we have now, only upgraded a lot. It's above your M1A2 tank, but below your stun guns and deathstars.
The Zombie Alliance
12-12-2005, 23:44
Hey, I was just kidding! Of course the Zombie Alliance wants to fight!:sniper: I would like to be on the StevidKuronaSelesnyansEnsteig side, if that's all right.

Just one more thing about PMT......http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=423383

Super Dreadnoughts are in abundance in PMT Countries... just thought you hould know;)

Uh ... Kinda hate to ruin the mood here, but given the statistics shown by that ship, I'd actually rather if you stuck to modern tech for your navy. The largest ship in my navy (Currenlty, provided I don't add anything bigger in the near future) is a super-heavy battleship slightly larger and more powerful than the Yamato, and it's only carrying several triple 500mm (~20 in) turrets as a primary armament on it. I'd rather if you just stuck to smaller ships (Say, maybe restrict yourself to battleship-sized ships for this war?) just so we don't all have to supersize our navies to compare at all.

Unless, of course, super-dreadnoughts are super-vulnerable to air attacks, in which case I'll just have to use lots of air carriers.

All PMT nations use SDN's only in dire need of them- apart from that they are hardly used and ordinary modern-tech stuff is used anyway.
The time gap between MT and PMT is an extremely small bridge. The gap is about a couple of decades. Modern Tech vessels are unchanged much in this frame of time.....

...in short...NO WORRIES MT it is! ;)

Hold up: I still don't know how the storyline should start. I think all nations are probably nuclear-armed (though we shouldn't use nukes), so maybe we should consider something else...

Hi guys, I was just reading the IC thread and it seemed like a pretty interesting thread with some good quality RPing and lots of potential!

Would it be OK if I were to join in as kind of a Third Party, so trying to avert diplomatically and then having a limited involvement from there on in?

(My Christmas holidays just started and I need to get my RPing skills back online again plus use some of the free time I've now got!)

To clarify some things:

1) Haraki, yes, you and I act together. We are partners in this.
2) I will be going on vacation for three weeks soon, which could potentially put a big hole in this.
Haraki

Well if we want this to continue while you're away, I can just take over and not act as you, but act on behalf of both of us. So I wouldn't move any of your troops, or anything, but I would speak for both of us with regards to the operation, and maybe make very vague statements about what your government says (A representative from the Damned People today said the submarine was not theirs) etc. if that's all right with you.
The Damned People

That works PERFECTLY fine. I'll try to make a response while I'm here. Thanks for the help.
