OOC Note:

This is a event that takes place in my nation's history as I am FT. But those of you who are MT, consider this along your guidelines. At this time, Almohed is located in Asia Minor, between modern day Pakistan and India.

IC:

His Holiness Pope Jafi VI was quite troubled. For almost nine-hundred years, the Eastern Catholic Church had no relations whatsoever with its counterparts in Rome, and other parts of the world. The Eastern Church was formed during the Crusades in the 12th Century to help the European Christians win back the Holy Land, and to convert the Muslims to Christianity. But it seemed as if the other Christian churches did not even realize that the Eastern Church existed. His Holiness Pope Jafi VI decided to send messages to the leaders of the various Christian churches, he hoped to create better relations between the Eastern church, and her western counterparts. The Pope began to type out a letter on his computer.

To: International Christian Leaders
From: Pope Jafi VI of Almohed
Subject: Relations

"Fellow Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

It is my great joy to express to you my faith in our most gracious God. It is He who has guided each of us along the path that leads to salvation. But these past few years since my predacessor, His Holiness Pope Jafi V, died, I have been longing to re-create relations with my counterparts in other parts of the world.

To those in Rome, long have we been seperated from those who first accepted the words of Saint Peter.

To those in Greece, who seperated from our Roman bretheren in attempts to find God more easily.

To the Protestants, who believe somewhat different doctrines than we, but are still Christian just the same.

We, your eastern brothers and sisters wish to recognize each of your seperate areas of reign, and hope that you accept our Church as Christian once again."

Jafi VI,
His Holiness the Pope of the Eastern Catholic Church,
Shah and Emporer of Almohed

His Holiness Pope Jafi VI had the letter e-mailed to those he knew to have e-mail addresses, and mailed copies of the letter manually to those he did not have or know.
