The Migration - New Shiron departs for the stars

semi closed as restricted to nations of the FKC (Klatch) and those that normally interact with them. This is a future tech RP, although it will tend to be more of the hard end of science fiction, conventions from some of the classic science fiction stories (like Cities in Flight by James Blish) and Space Opera will be common.

Summary
New Shiron, a large nation of 2.5 billion and technology that allows for travelling in hyperspace using two different types of technology and control gravity, has decided to up and leave its Australia sized continent to move to a new planet in a different star system located in the general direction of Arcturus and Vega.

At L4, the Exeter Space Dock suddenly revealed its true purpose and began accelerating away from Cis Lunar space in the same general direction of the Migration Fleet but accelerating much faster at 10 gravities.

16hours later it was in position well ahead of the Migration fleet. Several smaller shuttles left hangers aboard the Exeter and took up positions in a hexagon pattern covering an area roughly 50 miles across. On a signal, they activated their systems, and the artificial (and very temporary) worm hole was created. A worm hole that lead to the New Cynthia star system, 61.75 light years away in the direction of the Galatic Rim and the Castor Star System.

An hour later the first of 50,000 arcologies and 200 star ships began passing through the wormhole in a steady stream.

Personal message from Queen Gabrielle to her husband:
"Feel free to send a couple of Var cruisers along with our fleet. Our tame New Cynthian scientists have paid off at last. You should come too. I do enjoy space travel so."

maintaining safe distance between the ships and ensuring maximum efficiency, the entire Migration Fleet will pass through the wormhole in roughly 72 hours. At which point the wormhole will collapse and disappear.

The wormhole is located approximately 28 million kilometers directly above Earth and the eleptical plane of the solar system, which means the fleet will arrive above the New Cynthia star system at that distance and will have to manuever for nearly 60 hours to get into position to carry out the next phase of the journey.

The Var response from the Enclave was quick and breif.

Encryption Code ZA=11GDF

Your note has been forwarded to the Overlord my Lady. We have attached orders which you may find helpful soon.

The attachment of course was in the damned Var machine code encryption which was absolutely maddening to try and break into without the key.

What the New Shironese didn't know was that there was a ship parked in New Cynthia's system. After a careful analysis of some of the acquired 'biological' material from New Cynthia's invasion. The Var had used the ratio of radical particles in the biologics to determine the features of the star they had been born at. After that it had only taken a few years to figure out the probable location of New Cynthia.

The reason the D'Katah a Krag Battlecruiser was laying dogo in the system had to do with some troublesome pirates that had a base in a nearby system.
The D'Katah's original orders was to pounce on them if they dropped into the system.

Their new orders were to help the New Shrionese find their new homeworld.

The Overlord himself was presently on Herran. A bit distant to get back to his wife asap.

The first through the wormhole were the scout force. 12 Pegasus class frigates and 72 corvettes

They passed through into normal space in the New Cynthia system and immediately began scanning using active and passive scanners for anything in the path of the fleet. A small asteroid was quickly detected, and the screen commander, Admiral Collingwood, ordered that it be destroyed as a menace to navigation. A pair of corvettes quickly responded, launching Zeus torpedoes that speed off 100 gravities of acceleration and within moments were on top of the target, which then was consumed by a time on target spread of 10 x 25 megaton detonations.

A few minutes later the lead elements of the Migration Fleet, with the multi megaton mass of the Royal Palace leading the way, came through the wormhole.

A radio signal was signalled from the Balrog, the screen flagship.
"Forward to Coach, the way is clear"

------------
Over the next few days as the fleet passed through the tens of thousands of arcologies and starships were moved into holding orbits well above the plane of the eliptic and about 4 AU from the primary star. Corvettes and shuttles moved on the only garden world in the system, the planet already designated as New Cythia. Already that world had a crowded orbit, as several dozen satellites had been placed by earlier missions, and a small outpost was located on an equatorial island to service those platforms.

After a week, the entire fleet had passed through, and the wormhole closed.

The first phase of the Migration was completed.

It was 10 days after the first ship arrived, and the next phase of the Migration was about to begin.

Once again the Exeter moved into position and opened up a wormhole, and once again the screening elements of the fleet were the first ones through.

This time the destination was in the direction of Aldebaran, nearly 60 light years away but due to the vageries of astronavigation, roughly the same distance from Earth as New Cynthia.

It was also relatively (a mere 20 light years) close to Klatchworld, and would provide New Shiron with good astrographic position relative to Earth and Klatchworld, making it an ideal stopover point.

Hours later, a stream of ships and arcologies flowed through the wormhole.

star named Ade

New Shiron also claims the 7 star systems within 3 parsecs (roughly 10 light years) of Ade. (none of which have an earthlike world, but 3 have planets that might become so with terraforming).

Klatchworld is here

6 parsecs (almost 20 light years) away from Ade.

Ade is 20 parsecs (65 light years) from Earth. So Klatchworld is 26 parsecs from Earth (85 light years).

the Fleet was orbiting the garden world of the Ade system, now to be called New Shiron (ooc, home is where the people are after all). Military ships were carried down engineers and troops who secured the sites that had been selected for the city complexes. They would be spread out across the temperate zones of the planet.

Within a few weeks the careful landing process was well under way.

Within a few months the diaspora was completed and the population and cities of New Shiron were transplanted on a new world.

The wormhole had worked, twice. Not only had the population been able to successfully reach a new world, but it was 20 years back in time from when it began.

This would allow New Shiron to complete settlement of its planet by the time the rest of the FKC caught up with it time wise. Queen Gabrielle stepped down and her place was taken by her brother, now known as King Gavin IX. She took the opportunity to rest for a few weeks before going into cryo sleep.

So when she caught up with her husband again she would be the woman he last saw.

20 years went by.....

(ooc, I didn't feel like gaming out a frontier period due to time constraints in real life).

Meanwhile, a steady stream of shuttles and starships was departing Gordon Bay, carrying tens of thousands of military personnel from New Shiron. A cadre of unmarried volunteers, nearly 50,000 in all, stayed behind to provide the nucleus of the troops recruited from Jiggedy and Gordan Bay.

Meanwhile, on the home continent, the millions that remained behind had finished the harvest and they, along with nearly every vehicle that would run, were heading toward the center of the country. A smaller wormhole had opened there, and they too passed into the hole and through time and space to their new home. Within a few weeks the island continent was empty of its former owners.
