OOC:The date of this rp is around the turn of the twenty-second century. DO NOT POST ALIENS! Aliens have not been discovered yet; not live ones anyway, but I'll get to that later. Humans can come from other planets, but those planets must be within our Solar System, i.e.Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, or somewhere imbetween. We do not have interstellar travel yet. Oh, and your characters cannot be present on Earth at any point in the thread, because it just blew up. Not the thread, but Earth.

Anyone is free to join the game; there is no sign-up thread. Just remember to stay within the character model guidelines.

So, the story starts in a tiny research outpost on Jupiter's moon, Europa. What is being studied there is a top-government-secret, because it involves...DA-DA-DA-DUM!...aliens. But dead ones-their ruins are scattered across this part of the subworld.

Ready?>>>BEGIN!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

No food had arrived for weeks. No fuel either. And no transmissions from Earth. What was going on? The archaeologists of Europa A12 had gone four weeks without any contact from the home world, and there was no indication as to why. It wasn't like the Western Confederation's archaeological department to simply scrap a project and leave its runners for dead. Something unusual had happened. The outpost should have been contacted.

Was the Confederation experiencing a complete comm blockout, and some sort of blockade? What other things could have occured?

Something could have occured on Earth.

A comm blackout and a blockade would indicate a world war. The Confederation wouldn't even have to be involved, if it was being fought in space. But that wasn't the only possibility; there could have been a sudden economic collapse, a plauge, or maybey even just really bad weather.

But in any case, the normal work of Europa A12 had to continue, if there was ever any normal work around here. Aliens around Jupiter, two thousand years ago. Who would'a thunk it. Rations, of course would have to be shrunk down to preserve food.

OOC:That's the introduction; feel free to post, everybody! C'mon, don't be shy!
