It's been tried many, many times. It never got truly off the ground or past the early stages, even when the organisers were committed. It's probably just far too complex.

If you want to give it a try, though, I'm sure you'd have quite a few participants. Or, if you want to keep it relatively simple, do a World Athletics Championship.

I tried hosting it. It would need a small army of hosts.

A World Athletics Championships would be a good idea, though. I may be able to dig up my athletics scorinators, or create new ones, for anyone interested in hosting.

afaik, Pacitalia is running the current IOC, with Oglethorpia's city Megalopolis holding the 2010 Winter Olympics sometime in 2006.

Get in touch with them and see what they're up to, I'd recommend.

I will help any way I can. A full Olympics is probably a bit much though

We in AO just know how much bloody effort it will take, that's all.

Plus there's the whole thing that the previous AOlympics were strategically bombed by one of the competitors, and that a Winter Olympics were attempted and failed too.

So now we're looking for a much more acceptable and easy-to run Golden League-type series of meetings around the region.

I'd love for someone to organise such thing, but its to big a job. The only way it could work is several (4+) hosts.

Not true, the Kaza 2008 Olympics still failed to finish with as many as 5 to 6 helpers.
