Hidden away in a corner of Tiv’tunn was an almost exclusive tavern. Most locals knew to keep away with it, as it was a popular watering hole for the less desirable Draconian society, namely vampires, werewolves and the like. From the outside it looked like any ordinary tavern and that was what trapped the unwary visitor to the city. That was something that the vampires liked, a ‘free’ meal. Inside the tavern was dim, only torches and large fireplace at one end lighted it. The barman that was stood behind the bar was a rather tall grey elf with a large scar down one side of his face, he wore what looked to be an old elven military uniform.

Over in one corner sat a man with long brown hair and a goatee. He was sat watching silently as another man went and sat down opposite him. This man was wearing a black baseball cap with a white tick on the front. He also wore a black trenchcoat as he passed an envelope to the other man. The longhaired man picked it up and took a piece of paper out. As he looked up at the other man, a sly grinned crossed his face.

“For once you have done well Ashram,” he said.

This man was Draven, the most feared vampire in Tiv’tunn. Most vampires in the city looked up to him and saw Draven as their undead King. As would be expected, there were other vampires out there that felt they deserved that mantle more then he did. However with his loyal followers, mostly made up of vampires he sired and those that they sired and so on that would always fight for him. Now and then, rouge vampires would be sired and would take a stand to Dravens rule. Of course most of these would then be slaughtered, but always there would be those that would escape and go underground. Draven didn’t care as they weren’t always a threat.

“So does this book exist?” Ashram asked.

“It does,” Draven replied, looking toward the bar. “But it is a dangerous quest to get it, so I shall not be participating.”

“Ok,” Ashram nodded, scratching the back of his head nervously. He was hoping that he would not be sent out alone, as he hated that.

Instead, Draven pointed toward the bar. “I think you will have an easy time recruiting people over there,” he told him.

This had to be the place, Knyl thought, most passersby were intent on ignoring it. Just as almost everyone in the city had seemed to remember some urgent business as soon as he approached, or they became completely absorbed in studying the advertising, but, they did not ignore him completely. Either his, Condition, was not completely unknown here, or, this was a cultural xenophobia unlike any he had ever heard of.
But some talked, and after a few hours, he pieced together enough to find it.
the place was far more reputable-looking than he'd expected, of course, the government here might keep better track of their destitute than the places he usually went. He had been employed as a mechanic on an independant freighter. Many were willing to overlook the fact he never shared his bottles, and would often work in total darkness. And the pay gave him a reason to seek out the rougher places when they made port. it was usually easy enough to lose any who followed him. The real pervs, well, noone seemed too surprised when they turned up in a dumpster with their throat slit. The local government usually wouldn't even look into the matter beyond assuring the captain that it was an isolated incident.
He entered the bar, and took a seat, he saw the man in the corner gesture his way, hopefully they would not make trouble, He had had enough recently, the last crew had discovered his secret, Hopefully their ship would not be discovered anytime soon, and their dissapearence would not be noted as unusual.

Ashram walked up to the bar and ordered another tankard of ale. This quest was going to take some planning and alot of ale and blood would be needed to do the planning.

"Why the long face Ashram?" the barman asked.

Ashram looked up from the half emptied tankard. "Oh the usual, Draven has me out on a quest again," he sighed.

The barman raised an eyebrow and continued to clean the tankard he had in his hand. "Certainly the usual then," he agreed.

Strangers that entered and went to sit down away from the bar were often ignored and left to get on with their own buisness.

Reese Osha of the Osha Family, the Oligarch Family in OWN that had managed to monopolize the Office of Forigen Policy had entered the tavern to have a quiet drink. On the surface Reese Osha looked like any normal 20 year old human girl on break from College and out to explore the world. Reese was far from normal (in the human sense) as one could get.

Our buxom blue eyed blond-bomb shell was in fact a Posthuman, and since she was an Oligarch (the highest Class within One World Nation) she had access to the best and most advanced Upgrades available. Reese no longer had a "heart" so much as a screw about the size of half a heart that spun a chemical that could be called "blood" through her body (and did a much better job than a normal organic).

Reese was the youngest member of the Osha Family and was considered the most adventurous, when One World Nation opened itself to contact with the Unevolved (what the Posthumans call everyone not of them) Reese was among the first to sightsee around the world.

As Reese sat down at the bar asked the bartender for a drink our slightly spoiled Posthuman knew that she couldn't eat or drink what the humans considered food but she could taste it on her tongue (one of the most organic things on her) and that would be enought. There was the State-Issued food in her penthouse suite that would keep her going until it was time to go home to the One World Nation.

Ashram looked up briefly as she sat down. Taking a large gulp of ale, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and asked. "So what brings you here? There's certainly something interesting about you."
One World Nation
21-10-2005, 23:45
Reese looked at the man drinking his ale and replyed, "I'm seeing the world, as for what interest you might have in me..." Reese's slightly synthesized voice gave very little away in the realm of emotion, but that was common in those who weren't fully Upgraded into Perfect Posthuman (Full Upgrade takes years and is done in increments).

Reese was then handed a small ale and she used her index finger to place a drop on her tongue to taste it.

"Interesting flavor..." Reese said to herself, "Too bad that the Upgraders couldn't allow me to enjoy Unevolved Foods."

A confused look came upon Ashrams face. "You what?" he asked.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 00:05
Reese then looked at Ashram and replyed, her semi-synthetic voice betrayed some annoyance, "I said I am seeing the world outside of O.W.N. for the first time."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 00:13
"I got that part," Ashram said, taking a gulp of ale. "But upgraders? What are you, a cyborg?"

He looked towards the barkeeper who was just cleaning tankards. She was rather strange.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 00:26
Reese then smiled at the man and said, "I am a Posthuman, the next stage of human evolution from One World Nation, or OWN for short. Upgraders are the men and women who Upgrade organic humans from human to Posthuman over a period of years."

"Of course even the most Upgraded Posthuman doesn't lack emotions or desires." Reese said in response to the question that always seemed to come up with the Unevolved, ("Do you Feel?")
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 00:32
"Um ok," Ashram said. "I myself am an upgrade from the rest of humanity, I am a vampire."

He took one final gulp of ale and ordered another.

Reese then stared at the man with her deep blue eyes that turned a shade of dark red for a few seconds as she did a complete scan of him and sent the information to the MINDNET for the Scientists to look at.

"Curious..." Reese said to herself once her eyes turned back to blue, "Most curious indeed." Reese then said, "Pardon my manners, but my name is Reese, may I ask for your name?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 00:48
"The name is Ashram, pleased to meet you," he said with a smile, remembering manners from a long dead life he once had.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 00:55
"Ashram" Reese repeated, allowing the word to flow off of her mostly organic tongue and yet contradicted by a semi-synthetic voice, "I've heard a name mentioned, Draven or some such thing, could you tell me more about him?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 01:04
"Draven?" Ashram said, almost sounding surprised. He took a gulp of ale before explaining. "Draven is my boss and king of the vampires in these parts."
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 01:21
"Ah..." Reese said quietly, "So the rumors were true." she thought to herself. Reese then placed a second drop of Ale on her tongue in order to enjoy it's rich flavor.

Pity that she couldn't drink it.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 01:24
"You can't drink it or something?" Ashram asked, noticing her way of 'drinking' the ale.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 01:33
"No," Reese said quietly, "Most human foods are incompatable with my digestive system. But I can at least taste it and hope that with more foreign travel in OWN that the Upgraders will correct this one day."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 01:39
"Ok, is a little strange though," Ashram said before taking another gulp. "So how did you hear about Draven?"
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 01:51
"Rumors, whispers, inuendo, myth... They all point to Draven, and while most have little patience with myths I have always understood myth to hold a kernel of truth." Reese explained simply. "Is this "King of Vampires" a myth or somewhat real?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 14:34
Ashram looked over at her. "Oh believe me he is very real," he told her.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 17:19
Reese then said, "Thank you for confirming it for me." Reese then shut her eyes for what seemed to be a few moments, what was happening was that she sent a message through MINDNET confirming that there was a Vampire King called Draven.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 19:04
Ashram took a gulp of ale and looked at her once more. "You suddenly look lost," he commented.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 19:09
Reese then left MINDNET and opened her eyes, while she hadn't heard what Ashram had asked, the EAR-Recorder had and it told her what Ashram had asked. "No, I'm quiet fine." Reese replyed to him.

Since there wasn't much going on at the bar Reese began to consider going back to her luxury suite at the hotel.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
22-10-2005, 19:13
Ashram downed the last of his ale and stood up. "Well nice meeting you, but I have beings to recruit and theres fuck all people here," he grumbled.
One World Nation
22-10-2005, 19:19
Reese smilled at Ashram and said quietly, "I should be going as well." Reese then rose and left the bar, she had very little fear since she doubted that any vampire would want to drink from a Posthuman, "In fact the nutrieno-liquid that flows through my body would most likely kill a vampire." Reese thought to herself as she began the walk to the Hotel.

"Better keep that in mind," Ashram muttered and headed out of the tavern.

OOC:The character I am introducing is three and a half feet tall, just so you know.

IC:Lunac stepped off of the saceship and looked around. He had imagined this but had never really come to grips with the reality of it until he actualy saw it. Since the Sky-Giants were so tall, so were their cities. Each doorway was at least eight feet high, and the windows were raised so high of the ground that they would be completely useless to any Krae-Sern, including Lunac.

Suddenly a thrill rushed through him. 'I must be the first Krae-Sern to ever go to a human world,' he thought. Then his thrill turned to nervousness as he realised,'That makes me representitive of my entire civilization.' He would have to be polite adn curtious while he was here, like a nobleman in the Restricted City.

Lunac wondered around the thing called an "airport" for some time, wondering what to do next. The emperor had told him to scout out the nearest human habitation, but had been a little fugey on what to do after that. Deciding that he should have a place to stay first, he went to a counter with an ariport employee standing behind it, and asked where he might find a place to spend the night.

The human's first reaction, as she leaned over, way over, to see Lunac, was to say,"Can I speak to your parents?"

"My parents?," mocked Lunac,"I'm twenty-three years old, my parents are on another planet!"

A fat man standing nearby interrupted,"I know a nice insane asylum for you to stay in."

Lunac ignored him,"I just need a place to sleep."

The woman aksed,"Well, that depends on how much money you have to spend."

"Money is no object." In this case, it was true. When the human anthropologists back home had heared that Lunac was going off-world, they had warned him that humans could be rather stingy with thier wallets, and that Lunac would have to be careful with money, a large sum of which they gave to him to fund his mission.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
A few hours later, Lunac finally found the hotel the woman had recemended to him. The building was massive by Krae-Sern standards, but then, he had to remember how huge the inhabitants of this world were.

As Reese returned to the hotel she noticed a very strange looking (and very short!) man who had obviously just arrived. Reese's eyes flicked from blue to dark red for a few moments as she did a complete scan of this dimunitive creature and sent the information into MINDNET to see what turned up.

As she waited for a response Reese took out a small packet from the pocket of her blue jeans and looked inside for whatever was left inside.

Ashram headed for another tavern within the city. Since it would be dark for another few hours so he'd have no problems with the sun. Entering the dark, smokey tavern he walked over and sat at the bar.

"Give us your best ale," he asked the barman who duley delivered.

24-10-2005, 01:39
A scruffy man in a trechcoat and hat sat down on a stool next to Ashram, smoking a cigarette.

"I hear you're trying to recruit," he said in a gruff voice.

"Well it's the fucking usual," Ashram replied. "No interest, getting ignored and only weirdo's will come near me, say a few things but won't join up."

"Harsh," the scruffy man remarked.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
25-10-2005, 15:33
The scruffy man ordered an ale. "You should go it alone," he suggested.

Ashram shook his head, "This isn't really something I can go alone with," he replied. "I need a couple of others or so."

The scruffy man gulped down his ale. With the back of his hand he wiped his hand. "Just wait here, I can probably find you some good hands," he said.

The woman's eyes were closed; was she sleeping? Did Sky-Giants sleep on their feet? Probably not, he decided.

"Um, excuse em ma'am, do you know what this says?",asked Lunac. He held a peice of paper out to her that read:
