Patty Paterson: Today, the nation celebrates the fourty-sixth birthday of our great leader Andy Anderson with a parade in downtown An Archia. It was on this day thirty years ago that the corporate giant Motors Inc. filed for bankruptcy leaving a young entrepreneur named Andy Anderson as the richest and thus most powerful man in the country.

John Johnson: Yes, it is a memorable day indeed! For the past thirty years Anderson has brought us the economic and political stability lacking throughout much of our history. For those of you at home who don't remember what life was like before he rose to power, I'll tell you the country was filled of the most corrupt businessmen the world has probably ever seen. You are all surely familiar with the Andicorp motto "Honesty is our policy." It was this policy of corporate integrity that the people have really loved about Anderson, especially in the early years of his leadership.

Patty Paterson: Thank you, for those insigts John. Now you can see Anderson waving to the crowd from inside his convertible. The people are just going wild. They truly love him.

John Johnson: Yes they do. And it is an absolutely gorgeous day for a parade. And now the band will play the An Archist anthem "Citizens Unite."

Patty Paterson: That song makes me feel so patriotic. Anderson will now hoist the An Archist flag outside of his corporate headquarters to signify the beginning of the week long celebrations.

:Deafening Gun Shot:

Patty Paterson: Oh My God!! Someone has just shot Andy Anderson!!! Oh My God!!!!!

John Johnson: He's dead!! Anderson is dead!!

Random An Archist Citizen How could they do this?! Who could possibly want to kill Anderson?! He's done so much for everybody! Who would do something like this?!!

Patty Paterson: This is unbelievable. Thirty years of stability destroyed in a few moments. I just can't believe it. I just can't believe it.

John Johnson: None of us can, Patty. It's all too much. Andy Anderson, our great leader for a whole generation, who brought us from constant corporate warfare to become one of the most politically stable nations in the world, is no longer with us.

Patty Paterson: This could be the end of the Citizens' Club as we know it. We have to go to a commercial break now. Hopefully, we'll have some information sorted out when we return.

Two lines bobbled up and down, before a voice let out a sigh. Several clicks and the two lines were replaced with a V and a dot.

"A steady breath out, catch yourself by surprise, don't expect it, keep loose, but not too loose," A quiet voice said.

"Affirmitive, sir," a smaller voice answered.

"Don't reply, your just making yourself think about it more. Think of something, never about your target, you'll concentrate better," the first voice snapped back.

Silence was the response as his mind partially fluttered off into a dream world, one of pride, honor, and commitment. A mercenary in the Mercenary State of Nation of Fortune, still under training though, he had been raised for this moment, and he wasn't going to mess it up, not now, not after all those years in hell. He had the perfect chance to get the best job in the country, and his eleven year old mind wasn't going to give up now.

The dot fit perfectly in the crook of the V, and down range was the clearest, cleanest shot of the targets heart. His mind went blank as his heart reached for the door to open his future of blood. It caught him by surprise, the rifle only let off a little jolt, nowhere near as bad as he had been expecting before.

"Nice shot kid, lets go," the first voice said as he snatched the rifle and started breaking it down.

The kid moved the table back to where it had been originally and went to grab the rest of the bags. He met his teacher by the door, and they hightailed it out of there, the rifle secured in several near impossible to find pouches on several different bags. Once they left the building they mingled with the half panicking half greiving crowd.

Patty Paterson: Police are now interrogating several witnesses of the Andy Anderson assassination. They will not reveal any other information. When professionals analysed various video recordings of the incident, they determined that the shot came from the area highlighted on your screen. {The highlited area is rather large and includes several hotel room windows.} They conclude that, if the bullet was fired by a foreigner, one of the most likely scenarios, then it must have come from the iInternational Hotel to the east of Andicorp Corporate Headquarters. Now, we will take you live to a speach by Andy Anderson, the son of our late leader, Andy Anderson.

Andy Anderson: My fellow Citizens', today at eleven sixteen in the morning our leader, and for many of us our boss, business partner, or friend, was assassinated. It was the principals of his business, Andicorp, which brought stability to this nation. These principals included, the freedom of the individuals to organize themselves politically and economically however they see fit, the guaruntee of free basic education by business leaders to improve the quality of the labor force, and the right of any person, regardless of the situation of his or her birth, to be a member of the Citizens' Club. In what will prove to be the most chaotic of times for this nation, we must hold fast to these principals. We must not let the ideological opposition coerce us into letting go any of our principals. We will not compromise our values as a people because of an act of terrorism. We will bring these assassins to justice and at the same time we will not deny our passion for the freedom of the individual. The difficulty in this task will be to achieve justice in the same non-forceful ways as we have for a generation. That is, we will only use force against those who have wronged us and will refrain from using force against others for the sake of finding or punishing our malfactors. This balance of justice and freedom will be most difficult to achieve in this time because of the greivous nature of our loss. As the son of Andy Anderson, and heir to his property, I find that it is my right and my duty to assume leadership in this drastic situation. The citizens' will find that I will not sway in my commitment to act as my father would have acted, for I firmly believe that we must not turn away from freedom in the face of any opposition.

Patty Paterson: Political commentators are unsure if the young Anderson's has the perseverance to withstand a possible violent opposition to his leadership.

John Johnson: That's right, Patty. Many prominent businessmen see this as an opportunity to take leadership of the country for themselves. It is quite certain that some of them will use violent means to attain this end.

Patty Paterson: It seems, then, that Anderson has a daunting task ahead of him. Will he be able to keep the Citizens' Club in tact.

Milchama Military asks if An Archy needs assistance

In a shrewd move by Prime Minister Liam Horowitz and Head General Wade Mittercap the Milchama Military has decided to ask the An Archist government whether they should intervene and bring stability to the country after the death of its leader. Former An Archist President Andy Anderson was shot dead yesterday while celebrating hist 46th birthday. While later yesterday his son took power many believe that he will not be able to hold on to power.

When asked about the move to send soldiers, a spokes person from the Red House said, "We think that An Archy needs a stabilizing force in this time of crisis and the Milchamian Military would be a perfect place to begin with that stability." When asked about whether or not this was a move to secure a country he said, "No we want to help An Archy through this time of crisis and the best way to help any chaotic country is to use force. We once had a chaotic country on our borders but we stabilized them and now they are a functioning part of our empire. The government believes that this approach should be done with An Archy."

The Milchamian troops are now massed at the border waiting for the signal to go over the border.
Czardas
18-10-2005, 03:13
The generic newscaster appears on the screen and begins talking in her emotionless voice, a wildly unpopular figure among the people. Not as though any of them ever listen to her. She announces:

"Yesterday Andy Anderson, the leader of An Archy, was shot to death during the celebrations for his 46th birthday party. This tragic event has provoked a wide range of responses within Czardas alone. Let's look at what people are saying."

The scene switches to a busy city street where the only sound that can be heard is the honking of thousands of car horns simultaneously at an intersection. The noise redoubles as more cars appear. Some cars drive over the roofs of others, provoking angry responses and the sounds of swear words. Amid this cacophony, the newscasters rush a man in a suit into a telephone booth, which is somewhat more silent.

"Lorin Dax is the assistant to Czardas's Foreign Minister. Mr. Dax?"

"Well, we've offered our condolences to the people of An archy, but it doesn't seem that there's too much we can really do for them. However, news states that the nation of Milchama seeks to help 'stabilize' the situation in An archy—whatever that might mean."

"Thank you, Mr. Dax." The scene switches to the docks near Mariosz. Ships are constantly coming and going, sometimes unsure of which they are supposed to do. People yell at each other, swim through the harbor, and blatantly disobey the signs reading "Fishing In the Nude While Wearing Necklaces of Sausages is Strictly Prohibited". Meanwhile, the anchor speaks. "Contrary to this viewpoint is that of Mrs. Caroline...Caroline...what was your name again?" She stops a middle-aged woman who is sitting in the middle of the dock, playing with Legos.

"Jansken," responds the woman. "I think we should intervene in An archy, as in sending out peacekeeping forces. After the death of such a well-loved national leader, the people may not be happy." She goes back to assembling the Star Destroyer II.

The scene changes once more to a suburban street which looks pretty quiet in comparison with the city, despite the drunken youths partying noisily and the couples having sex on their front lawns. The newscaster's voice cuts through the sound of breaking bottles. "However, the viewpoint of Mr. Randy Utopia is fairly typical for most Czardaians."

Mr. Randy Utopia, a completely nondescript young man with his hair gelled in the shape of a tesseract and wearing only neon green, states, "What's a leader?"

The scene cuts back to the newscaster's studio. "The Radical Libertarian Front has suggested that being the leader, Mr. Anderson deserved to die. The Federal Democratic Party has told the RLF to kindly go boil its collective heads, and the two groups are currently engaged in...active...debate." A screen shows footage of fistfights and massive street battles erupting in cities all around Czardas. "Meanwhile, the current primary Czardasnet debate is whether it's worth the trouble to have a national leader or not. Current votes run 132 million against, 37 million for.

"Thank you for tuning in to LCTV-Czarna, and as always, have a nice day! We'll be back after these messages."

With a sigh of relief, everyone sits back in their chairs to enjoy the scant few minutes of commercials before the news broadcast resumes.

Dear Prime Minister Liam Horowitz,

Considering the current situation, it would be most beneficial to have a great army at our disposal. I must emphasize, however, that I refuse to use an army as a force to stabalize the actions of my own citizens. Admittedly, they are currently out of controle, but I firmly believe that this state of disorder will pass with time. I ask, therefore, that you understand that, because of the ideological differences between us, I will not use your army as a police force to end the disorder among my citizenry.

That said, I foresee several other possible uses for your great army. We could certainly use some of the special op and reconnaissance units within your army. They could prove very useful in finding and bringing to justice the assassin and his/her conspirators. If it turns out that the assassination of our leader was sactioned by a foreign government, your entire army would be useful in waging what could turn out to be a long and strenuous war. The Citizens' Club will gladly repay, monetarily, for the use of your soldiers.

In Great Thanks,
Andy Anderson

Patty Paterson: Sources from inside the Anderson administration have confirmed that Andy Anderson has sent a letter to Prime Minister Liam Horowitz regarding the use of Milchama's military in achieving order within An Archy. These sources have said that Anderson has accepted Milchama's support on the condition that no military force be used against members of the Citizens' Club despite the fact that much of the disorder has resulted from the actions of these citizens.

John Johnson: In related news, the chaos after the assassination has seemed to hit a peak. Assurances from Anderson that he will stay commited to his father's policies of freedom and business integrity have helped to significantly calm the mob atmosphere. In fact, today's news concerning Anderson's response to Milchama's offer of support should strengthen confidence in his leadership.

Patty Paterson: Also, there have been many attacks waged on the citizens by noncitizen militant groups led by some of Anderson's old business rivals. These groups, which have remained withdrawn from the rest of An Archist society for the past three decades, may very well be the first to experience the wrath of the Milchaman military. Finally, the stock market has closed for the rest of the week due to the assassination. Many investment analysists view this as a positive developement since it will likely subside a potential crash of the market as investors will have time to regain confidence after the shocking incidences of the past two days.

Patty Paterson: There have been very few developements in the past few days regarding the assassination. Currently, we are still unsure of the potential use of the Milchaman military. As of now, we can only tell you that Andy Anderson has approved the use of that military for certain purposes including reconnaissance work and intitiatives against agressive noncitizen militent groups. The next few days could see a surge in additional developements in this story.

Milchamian Military invades An Archy!

In their first test of real action since the Collonie Wars of Oppresion the Milchamian Military has invaded the border towns of An Archy. General Thomas Johnson said, "We needed to secure these port cities to make sure that our civilian ships and their cargo could be safely carried out from An Archy." According to government sources in Alexandria the military will withdraw from these cities as soon as all Milchamian ships depart from the area.

While sure to draw international retaliation and concern Prime Minister Liam Horowitz tried to preempt these fears by the international community in a speech today. He said, "We have no territorial ambitions all we want to do is make sure that all Milchamian civilians and ships are out of An Archy or at least with in a safe location." When asked what a safe location is the Prime Minister replied, "Wherever the Milchamian baseball team is now and I believe the city of An Archia althogh as of right now we do not have 100% clarification whether this true or not." The Military is expected to withdraw tommorow from all cities in An Archy except for the 5 selected battalions which shall be used, "With Andy Anderson's wishes whatever those may be."

Patty Paterson: Prime Minister Liam Horowitz and General Thomas Johnson have approved the use of certain Milchamian troops for whatever purposes Andy Anderson deems necessary. Anderson has talked with General Thomas Johnson on various strategies to circumvent any guerilla attacks by noncitizen militant groups. He has placed the those troops in undisclosed locations around the country. He has also sent a message to the Milchamian government.

Andy Anderson: Currently, the city of An Archia is one of the safest places in the country. Any Milchamian civilians that are in this city do not need to be moved to another location. Nevertheless, it would be prudent to take certain actions to secure the safety of the city in the near future. I plan to discuss this matter more thuroughly with you in private.

Patty Paterson: In related news, a recent poll found that thirty per cent of citizens believe that the Milchamian military presence in An archy could be a long term strategy by the Milchamian government to take over the country. Officials within the Anderson administration, however, have expressed complete confidence in the Milchamian leaders.

Andy Anderson: So, you think you can find exactly where the shot came from?

Milchamian Military Detective: No not exactly. I can tell you that it definately came from the International Hotel. I think these rooms here {He points to some of the windows on a blue print of the hotel.} are the most likely sources for the shot. Right now we're running a few tests on those rooms.

Andy Anderson: That sounds promising.

Milchamian CSI: {running into the room} We've discovered something big! We found some DNA on a table in a room where the shot could have been fired. It's not in perfect condition, but it's good enough to let us determine the race of its source. The room was being used by The Foylands national baseball team, but the DNA fits the genome of a region called Devils Dance Floor. It seems highly suspicious.

Andy Anderson: So the assassins came from that region?

Milchamian Military Detective: Not necessarily. Determining race based on genome mapping isn't a perfect science. Anyway, we still need more evidence to justify any decisive action.

Andy Anderson: I understand. In that case, keep looking for evidence.

Thomas Johnson: But wouldn't Collonie be afraid of us?

Liam Horowitz: No. The troops would not be the Wars of Oppresion were over 100 years ago. This is a new generation. Sure they know about it but I don't think it will make them afraid if anything they will fight harder.

Thomas Johnson: One more question sir. When does Collonie withdraw its forces so that we take over the country?

Collonie shows independence throws military support to rebels

The former Milchamian colony of Collonie, who just got their independence 2 years ago, have shown their first real showing of independence deciding to throw their support behind the An Archists rebels. President Jacque Climault said, "These guys are the good guys. They have the right ideas about how to run a government. And most importantly their names aren't like the Vikings." This is a different development considering that this will be the time Colloniean will face Milchamian troops in battle since Milchama took over Collonie in the National War.

Milchama has already thrown their support behind the An Archist government.

A helicopter lands in a clearing, and drops it's cargo off. It's cargo consists of six military special forces operatives. Trained from birth how to kill, just like every other citizen in NoF, the only advantage they have is genetic modifications. A blonde woman takes the lead, the other soldiers following her silently. Running besides the woman is a cougar. They cover the distance between the drop point and the city in several minutes. When they reach the city limits they stop, and take a little breather, most of them don't even need it. Upon entering the town in the shadows of darkness they made a beeline for the capital, or where ever it was Kiley would meet up with Andy Anderson later. Using their years of training they made sure to keep hidden. Upon reaching the objective their only goal was to assure the safety of the delegate, if the delegate came under any threat, everyone in the building would regret it, if anyone harmed the delegate, they would feel what pain meant before they died, if they killed her, they could be assured a long, long life in the torture facilities of Nation of Fortune.
