Rainbow Six RP Idea

Being a rather big fan of both Rainbow Six video games and special forces I thought it might be fun to do a squad based special forces RP. So, although squads are usually four people I think it would be a little more fun to have say six or seven players.

Now, this would be MT. Also note that you don't need to be a MT nation to RP MT, mainly because this would be character based and wouldn't affect your nation.

As for the plot, the entire plot would be one scenario/mission. It would start with a kidnapping/hostage situation by a terrorist group and the team will have to infiltrate what will probably be some facility (ei. an oil refinery) and save a hostage without causing destruction to the facility or the hostage to be killed.

The second half will be tracking down and eliminating the terrorists responsible which will probably end up taking place far from the actual place where the mission started.

The characters people will only be a SF team member because I kinda' want to control what the terrorists do, just the the plot will advance and stay interesting. Also note that I will introduce NPC's (Non player characters) if you don't know what those are, read Euro's sticky.

Also, before you play, I highly suggest that you try to learn a little about what sorts of weapons SF use because it would make for bad RP if your character showed up to the mission with a Bazooka.

If you have any other questions just ask.

Quere, the list of acceptable weapons is not that hard to get a hold of...though if we let MS, and a couple of others in the discussions of weapons would indeed be endless!

H&K ( Heckler & Kotch ) MP5's , or 10's, Uzi's, Calico, etc for submachine guns...on to...

Good quality semi autos pistols ( from the classic Colt 1911 in .45, Desert Eagles in several calibers, Berettas, Browning's, Walthers, Sig Sauers, the ( yuck ) dish washable Glocks)
For battle rifles...M's ( 16's, 14, etc )s, FN- FAL, Enfield's, H&K, Steyer, Stoner...

and more - go here to look, ponder and perhaps drool...Netbook of Modern Firearms (http://www.kitsune.addr.com/Firearms/Firearms.htm)

Hate to be the hangman here but...

Any form of tactical combat, ESPECIALLY CQB, is nigh impossible to RP. See, the problem inserts itself in the speed. Even in the video games that deal with tactical CQB situations, it is very fast paced. CQB, and most anti terror operations for that matter, including HR and what not, are very go go go go... With the posting pace that we have here on NS, it would be impossible to create that atmosphere. First, you would have people like me, who, with my schedule, can post maybe once or twice per thread per day.

Further, you have a serrious issue with the combat aspect. I've managed to have very succesful CQB/HR/AT operations with other nations as before hand, we worked out who would live, who would die, how the op would go, etc., and then just in one post post it all out. However, Im not gonna say dont go for it, and in fact I will participate. Don't expect my character to be a lovey dovey one though. I'll post a bio or whatever somtime tommorow, but he'll be what the R6 games (which in my humble opinion are crap) would consider an assault specialist.

ooc: Imitora, I completely agree, we will have to work out several specifics and possibly a schedule for posting (to a degree, since I relize things come up). Anyway, lets get one or two more people and then start working out the specifics.

Just be warned, by being a sniper the amount of actual action you will see could be limited. It may turn out to be a lot of watching and waiting at times.

PHYSICAL INFORMATION-
Name: Robert Fortier [Full Name: Robert Francis Fortier, III]
Age: 35 [DOB: 12 Jan 1970]
Weight: 215 lbs, mostly muscle
Height: 6 feet, 1 inch
Blood Type: A Pos
Build: Athletic to muscular, more athletic. Keeps in shape with a strict daily regimen of running, swimming, sit ups, push ups, as well as various physical hobbies
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
Noticeable Physical Features and Description: Fortier, due to a number of years in the military as well as his active lifestyle, has a number of scars, obtained both from action or post action medical treatment, all with their own unique story. Further, his eyes have been known to be much like a “mood ring”, changing their hue of blue depending on his mood. Fortier is also mildly tattooed, including a unit insignia on his left bicep, a Celtic wrap with the Green Flag of Ireland imposed over it on his right bicep, and a single Imitoran Black Rose which runs the extent of his back. Further, he has a number of Latin phrases imposed with each tattoo, and a date, 9-18-05 on his left pectoral muscle, just above his heart. Physically, he is well kept, and toned.

PERSONAL PROFILE-
Personality Style: Fortier is a fiercely loyal individual, one who would die before turning on one of his friends or family. Further, he is slow to anger, but once set off, he can easily become a rather dangerous person to be around. While very wild, or more properly worded, a thrill seeker, Fortier rarely acts before thinking, as per military training. He has a sort of kill switch, and he can almost freely control his emotional urges. At times, he seems cold and cruel, but in reality, it is a defense mechanism, allowing him to learn as much as possible, and freely absorb what he can, before allowing himself to become attached. He does have his moments of extreme violence, but never has any such a moment been recorded against anyone he holds close.
History: Fortier has what some may call a rather bland life until his mid twenties, in which he fully began to change into what he is today. He attended a private, co-ed, Jesuit Catholic high school. In high school, he was part of the mixed crowd, the group who was friends with every other group in the school. He played rugby and football, but also worked with the debate team, and worked on his first car, while also spending time with the skaters and punks. After high school, he attended the University of Imitora in Northampton, playing for an intramural rugby team, and on the university’s football team for two years, focusing on a political science degree. He graduated high in his class, but decided not to attend a post graduated school, and instead joined the Imitoran Colonial Marine Corps at the age of 22. He was, in the IMC, seen as a natural born leader, his basic training unit turning out record setting times for kill houses, time runs, and obstacle courses. After less than a two year term, Fortier’s application to the IMC SpecOpCom was accepted, and he was accepted into the 22nd Special Operations Task Force as a rifle man till the age of 25. From there till the age of 31, all military history is deemed classified. However, speculation of working with, and possibly leading a unit within, the IMC’s Force Recon TRACT (Tactical Reconnaissance Action and Counter Terrorism) does exist, most speculation coming from the tattoo on his left bicep, which matched that of the unit’s insignia, one of very few things known about the highly secretive special operations unit. Further speculation leads that he worked closely with the ICIA and INSA in black field operations. He was decommissioned at the age of thirty one, and quickly utilized a number of contacts to quickly build up a number of businesses. As a major share holder in more than half of the nations super corporations, as well as the owner of a number of smaller, yet very successful businesses, Fortier is claimed to be one of the richest men in Imitora, if not the richest. However, for him, the money could be non existent, as he would rather spend time with friends and family, or working on one of his cars, than counting coins in a vault.
Monetary Worth: While no actual counting has taken place, it is believed that Fortier, in a rather odd sense of the word, is broke. He has very little actual money to his name, somewhere in the lower double digit millions. However, if he liquidated all his assets, the estimated amount of available cash, after taxation would range somewhere in the lower billions, between 25 and 30, Imitoran Credits.
Physical Abilities: Fortier likes to keep in shape with running and swimming and surfing when possible, and also bikes. On a more martial level, Fortier is well skilled in both European and Japanese style fencing, and his very well skilled in the Israeli martial art of Krav Maga. However, the one martial art he is skilled at most, and one that also adds reasoning to the speculation of his military career, is the ancient art of Ninjitsu. Fortier, being the romantic that he is, also learned, from an early age, to Tango.

Hobbies: Automotive Tuning, Reading, Racing, Rugby, Horseback Riding, Swimming
Relationship Status: Currently married. Married once previously, three serious girlfriends.

MILITARY PROFILE:
Operations History: Fortier was in the military (Imitoran Marine Corps) for near every major operational undertaking of the Imitoran military. He has been in four wars, five regional peace keeping actions, and countless peace time military operations. He has served in at least two, if not more, branches of the Imitoran Marine Corps, with distinction, and on record holds four Stars of Valor, three Blood Ribbons, and three Bronze Knives. His rank upon decommission was Master Sergeant, however, as of post decommission, he was awarded the rank of Lieutenant by the Queen as a show of thanks for his outstanding duty and time spent in the services of the nation.
Unit History: 12th Imitoran Marine Corps Training Regiment, Ft. Dall; 73rd Combat Battalion, 1st Platoon, Theta Company, Ft. Fallston; 22nd Special Operations Task Force (SOTF), 3rd Platoon, Alpha Company;-CLASSIFIED-

Eyes: Hazel Brown
Build: Whipcord muscles, lean
Facial feature: wears a bead and mustache
PHOTO (http://www.atddm.com/ab.jpg)
Unmarried, dates seldom

Bio: D'monix is half Irish, half French and all Tanaaran, his family having emigrated there shortly before his birth. He is an only child and has been described as 'a sociopath waiting to happen'. However there has never been any indication of the 'classic triad' occuring in his childhood or teens. He is an introvert, a listener rather than a talker, reads voraciously, and does not enjoy team sports in the least. His father was an avid hunter and outdoorsman who raised his son to respect and appreciate the wilderness. He named his son after the manufacturer of his favorite weapon, and is one of the most respected experts on firearms in the nation. His collection is unrivaled and he has pieces on loan to various museums in various countries. Remmington appreciates fine weapons, but is not as obscessed of them as his father is.

Remmington is one of the most skilled snipers in the entire Tanaaran special op's community, and has graduated from the Tanaaran Military University with a degree in Operations. He is endlessly patient, and can infiltrate evan an 'actively interdicted' area with unnerving ease. He enjoys photo safaris, rather than hunting less challenging quarry. He hunts the most dangerous predators of all.

Speaks: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin, Farsi, Turkish, Cantoneese Chinese, Japanese, and Korean ( learning )

He is an acknowledged master of Aikido, and has a black belt in Kenpo.

He is skilled with : most military small arms, and almost every combat rifle in service, and every sniper rifle out there.

okay, threads up, check your TGs for a link.

As for the basic plot line:

K, basically the family is being held hostage in one of the fathers factories which has many facilites and will have numerous defenses. First, team gets in, second secure hostages, and then get out.

Second part of the rp will be less CQC but will be hunting down those resonsible (hopefully because something will go wrong ex: one hostage dies)

Now, to answer your question 'why is the family being taken?' well basically its to hurt global economies and make a statement since other attacks will follow. Anything I missed?

Well, I would think it would be better to start out the RP with them all meeting up, ala the intro to the book. All of them flying to a single location and meeting up, getting to know each other, start training and what not before jumping right in. I mean, the chances of my character having even met any of yours, let alone serving with any, is slim to nill. But its your RP, im just in it. I'll post here shortly.

Tough....hows about if you have anything specific about the team edit it. For example, someone said they were "going to work." Once everyone shows I'll put up a post to introduce them to the guy leading the operation. Hes not a soldier though. Then we'll just have a few long posts to sum up training, move on and start the mission. However, meanwhile we'll still have the family held hostage. Sorry for the inconvenience if you already posted.

Well Imitora and my posts are so far very vague and can be easily modified however the third post should be edited. So, rather than restart the whole thread why don't we just make a few adjustments and move on. Also, that has become the point. They still need to train together.

For example, I would only reword my last paragraph and then we could RP a meeting once everyone shows (Even if I did restart the thread it would still be similar so far.)

just a quick note on the most recent training exercize:

1) Lets do it individually just for practice even if later firefights are single-posts, everyone should get a chance to RP fighting.

2) It will be up to how well the characters do. Just don't make it unrealistically easy.

3) You have grenades that all register with the computer (ei: frags, flash-bangs) however smoke grenades we may as well just RP as being real.

4) The whole thing is two stories (Flag is on the second floor).
