NS World Cup of Baseball II-Discussion Thread

It's going to be a while until the second NS World Cup of Baseball gets under way. So, I've decided we need a discussion thread. You can use this thread to talk about the current cup the upcomming cup or even to engage "friendly" matches. This should help keep the new participants in the next tourney involved in NSWCB affairs while they wait for the first tournament to end.

I'll just post here to say i've been working on a rather long RP for the current wc of bb, which hopefully I'll get done and posted before the tournament ends. If not, there's always the next one, I suppose.

This post is OOC:

Will we be told where to post line-ups here or in the other thread (NS World Cup of Baseball II - Signups)?

Ditto for starting to play.

considering the first world cup of baseball was a round robin tournament with only 12 teams how will the tournament be run with 32 teams?

Isn't is called....the World Series???

no because the world series is one series the world cup in NS is many series this cup 12 to be exact and next cup that could expand to 16 or even more series total.

For the next cup, I'll separate the teams into two leagues. Each team will play a three game series against each other team in its league. At the end of regular play the top two teams from each league will compete in a seven game series for the league championship. After that, the winners of each league will play eachother in a seven game series for the cup.

Also, even though I have access to a computer today, I won't be posting any scores since I don't have my calculator.

You can post your line-ups here if you want to or you can wait until the next tournament starts and post your lineup in the NS World Cup of Baseball II Schedules/Rosters/Scores/RPs thread. If you want to compete in exhibition matches, you should go ahead and post you rosters now. Note to anyone wishing to compete in an exhibition match: The outcome of all exhibition matches will be decided mutually between the competitors. As to your other question, I've said it before, but I'll repeat it here for you. It really is going to be a while until the next tournament begins. In fact, that's why I created this thread, so new participants in the next cup can keep themselves engaged in NSWCB affairs while they wait for the first tournament to end. So go ahead and use this thread to make any ic or ooc posts you feel will keep you involved in the NSWCB.

Could you please post a link. The POC "search" (dis-)function on these boards is useless.

Thank you.

The NS World Cup of Baseball II Schedules/Rosters/Scores/RPs thread does not exist yet. I will create that thread when the current tournament ends. If you want to post your roster now or engage in any NSWCB related RP's, you will have to do so in this thread.

I was wondering something about the RP bonus you mentioned somewhere at or near the beginning of the World Cup. Namely, I seem to remember your mentioning something to the effect of increasing the number of points allotted to a team based on the number of RPs its player posts. If so, I'd imagine Milchama and I (and I'm sure perhaps one or two others) might be at or near that threshold...

Then again, my memory could be quite faulty.

Both of you might be well beyond the threshhold to recieve a one point bonus to your batting or pitching rating. However, this bonus will not be applied until the beginning of the next tournament.

ooc: I've decided that I will not be hosting the next tournament. Also, I won't be participating either (neither will my antipuppet NonCitizens.) I really need to take a break from NS to focus on my academics. Thanks, all of you for contributing to the wonderful time I had hosting this tournament.

couldn't you at least participate? there is no reason why you can't participate and do nothing like many of the nations last tournament.

Alright, my nations will participate but not contribute. That should help get the tournament to a full thirty-two teams. You will still need 4 more participants, though.
