WC25 | official sponsorship applications

The World Cup is the single biggest sporting event in NationStates. Such an immense contest is a challenge for organisers, but a great opportunity for advertisers to reach a global audience.

The official sponsors of the Silver Jubilee World Cup will be able to exploit this opportunity and help meet the challenge. They will be able to provide resources for organisation, including the provision of varied equipment and technology - ticket machines, referee kit, scoreboards and much else besides. They will also gain advertising space at World Cup stadia and host cities in both Kaze Progressa and Audioslavia.

We are looking for six Primary Sponsors who will provide this for the duration of the World Cup. They may also be able to provide sponsorship for affliated tournaments, subject to the approval of the hosts of these tournaments. There will be one Primary Sponsor in each of six areas:

Alcoholic drinks
Apparel and sports equipment
Digital life
Financial services
Soft drinks
Transport

There will be eight Secondary Sponsors, not tied to a specific area, who will also be allocated advertising space for this World Cup only. There may be, at the discretion of the requisite hosts, separate Secondary Sponsors - probably fewer in number -for affliated tournaments.

Bids will be made in secret (OOC: TG me. Open bids will be rejected. Bumps are accepted but no more than one bump per nation per day.) and each country can provide no more than two Primary Sponsor applications and no more than two Secondary Sponsor applications. Bidding ends on Thursday October 13 2005 .

[i]OOC: the value of each bid will be based upon the GDP of the country on October 13 as calculated by NSEconomy, multiplied by a random constant of between 1 and 1.25. The final combination of sponsors will be the combination with the highest bid value. I know this is capitalist, but it's realistic.
The categories for Primary Sponsors are mostly the same as those that are being used for major WC sponsorship for 2010 and 2014, except 'automotive' has been replaced by 'transport'.

Molson Hockey Canadian requests to sponsor the "Alcoholic Drinks" for World Cup 25. As one of the largest drink companies in NationStates as well as the richest company in Hockey Canada, we would supply the World Cup with as much alcohol as needed (free of charge). A portable pub/bar would be present at every venue in the World Cup complete with roofing, bathrooms and taxi services to reduce drink-related accidents. If any questions/comments are to be needed, contacts us via Government telegram or here.

The Oliverrian multinational company Pepsioli would like to provide the soft drinks for the cup. As they already sponsor the the stadium in which Oliverry plays their qualifying games, they will, we think, be a good sponsor for the cup

what do you mean by transport?
Kaze Progressa
06-10-2005, 22:24
It includes car manufacturers (in fact, IRL the category is limited to car manufacturers), airlines, train operating companies and anyone involved in transport of any type.

And to prevent others asking, the 'Digital Life' category 'spans all key technologies in consumer electronics, including audiovisual devices, game consoles and personal computers.' (IRL it's gone to Sony, that quote is from FIFA's press release when this happened (http://www.fifa.com/en/media/index/0,1369,106084,00.html).)

So I think that Swilatian Air Company, Swilatia's largest airline can provide transport.

Hard to run an airline when they can't read, isnt it?

The WC25 Organising Committee report 'very pleasing' levels of interest for Primary Sponsor status, with offers for all six categories and more believed to be on the way.

However, a spokesperson reports that 'there have been relatively few applications for Secondary Sponsor status. This is still a highly prestigious status and it is open to any company in any field, even if they are in the same country as a prospective Primary Sponsor.'

OOC: Even if your country has a sponsor that has applied for Primary Sponsor status, you can bid for Secondary Sponsor status with up to two different companies. Ideally these will be in a field not covered by the six Primary Sponsors to prevent overlap, but this isn't compulsory.

The DFA would like to enquire to see who exactly will be sponsoring World Cup 25, seeing as the date has passed.

Yumbo Jumbo is proud to be the official bubble gum of WC25. Now where should we publish the comprehensive list of flavors and their respective teams?

Do it in the WC25 Pre-Cup thread and get a bonus for it, perhaps? Then maybe turn that into a Wiki article?
