The national team for BlackHill Mafia has brought both tears and joy within the population. League is one of the fastest growing Industries with over 211,000 people playing it from 6 year olds to senior players. With only 18 teams playing on a national level, the sport attracts millions during the Rugby League season. The Dragons (National Team) are a team of the best players from all teams at the national level. The team was carefully picked to ensure it will play well this season, Internationally. The Dragons provide a good defense, excellent wingers and a strong offense. Their weakness is their kicking. No will take advantage of us because of our fine offense and defense. Our best player Edward Clark who once a captain has lead the team into 2 grandfinal wins and 6 semifinals.

Who are we taking on?
We have a political dispute within our country. Just small. Small enough for no one to care. Some rebels (mostly unviolent) have asked to join under a differnt team. They wish to be called the "Northern Rhino's". If so, heres their team.

Coach: James Blue

Fullback - Geoff Fishers
Winger - Greg Watt
Winger - Ned Winkler
Centre - Ed Small
Centre - Matthew London
5/8 - James London
Halfback - Simon Hyete

Prop Forward - Michael Harry
Second Row Forward - Jarrad Towns

Due to a small Population, they cannot have a bench. They could call some up if need be.
So???
A Paradise Cove
06-10-2005, 05:20

Greetings,

On behalf of the Locke Harbour Dragons (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/2005-04-04-001.htm) I am announcing that the nation of PopularFreedom will be represented in this league. Locke Harbour Dragons play at the stadium known as Champions Heaven (http://img217.echo.cx/img217/2033/lhn1982downtown3dl.png) as seen in the link on the west side of the aerial photo.

Locke Harbour Dragons have an extensive history dating back to the beginning of the PopularFreedom Rugby League (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/rugbychamps.html). In 1984 they won the first championship of the league and since then they have dominated last winning in 2004. Currently they are undergoing a rebuilding process after having been eliminated from playoff contention in 2005 however they are still a formidable foe.

Their roster is as follows:

Coach & GM: Keith Wright (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/2005-03-15-001.htm). Keith took over from Andrew Martin who was fired after the Dragons began the 2005 season with an 0-3 record. He brings a venom for winning and a distaste for losing. He demands results and usually gets them though is not the friendliest man in the world according to most of his players.

Note: Currently the team does not have a captain and the captain position is rotated based on the decision by the coach which usually happens at gametime. Owen Clarke was the captain until coach Martin was fired on March 15, 2005.

INJURED:
1=Prop=Greg Hutson

STARTERS:
16=Jim Goldstone=Greg Hutson
2=Hooker=Brett Nelson
3=Prop=Josh Curos
4=Flanker=Josh Papanelo
5=Lock=Tom Marlin
6=Lock=Owen Tucker
7=Flanker=Matthew Brinde
8=8 Man=Owen Clarke
9=Scrum Half=Yani Michaels
10=Flyhalf=Art Schwarz
11=Inside Centre=Sam Walley
12=Outside Centre=Vlad Smith
13=Winger=Mark Anderson
14=Winger=Kirk Vincent
15=Fullback=Portskow

Substitutes:
17=Wayne Restarn
18=Peter Omonte
19=Zack Buendir
20=Max Williamson
21=Ivan Depalmon
22=Frank Swallorry

Strategies: Wright is a former flanker so he prefers 8-man pickups, crashing the line etc. The Dragons have a formidable pack. Their backs are okay but if it comes down to a fight between forward packs, coach Wright has them training to win every battle.

Sincerely, Prime Minister Bayda

Mexicona Bulls (12) Vs Locke Harbour Dragons (42):

After the first ever match for the International Rugby League Season the Locke Harbour Dragons won 42-12. Excellent kicking by Owen Tucker and Owen Clarke ensured some excellent tries and conversions. The Dragons can sure rest tonight after a great win, but however Prop Greg Hutson suffered spinal injuries. Greg make not play for several weeks. Fans wish him well.
Dusty Gregs performed well for the bulls but not good enough. This was a bad start for the bulls who were expected to win at first. The bulls held good defense in the first half allowing only one try and conversion in, scoring 12 points themselves, But after half-time the dragons rushed in and took 90% of their oppurtunities to score. The Dragons may have won, but they did not attract the fans. Of the 31,352 seated more than 20,000 were "Bulls" fans. Not to worry, the Dragons would have taken most of them after their win tonight. Bulls go home empty handed ready to train some more and the dragons go home with a good start.
Congradulations to the Dragons.
Thanks

Goodnight

Latest News:

Good Start but bad loss:
Dragons Prop Greg Hutson suffered serious spinal injuries in last nights game. Hutson was rushed to hospital just 12 minutes into the second half. Its is not know how long he will be off the ground for, though some say up to 6 weeks. Lets hope not. Greg is one of the best players who was going to got for the 18V18 match later on. Get Well Greg.

Out of Play:
Easton Suburbs Second Row Forward, Johnny Walker will not play tommorows nights game against Beerandfootys Booz due to a bad knee. During Training earlier today, Walker damaged his Knee. He will be able to play next week.
Dean Collis will take, Walkers spot for tommorow night. Easton Suburbs are "the team" for tommorow night.

A Paradise Coves "Red Wolves" (24) Vs BlackHill Mafia's Dragons: (18)

With little experience on the International Level of Rugby, the Wolves showed up the Dragons to a spectacular win at 24-18.
The majority of the game was played within Wolve Territory. 4 Tries and Conversions were barely made, with three for the Dragons. The Dragons held up a good defense but slipped 4 times to allow the Wolves to score and win the match. The Wolves line of defense was rather poor, but did allow the Dragons to score.
All players were healthy after the match with no injuries sustained from either side. Officals claim the dragons as a rather easy and defeatable team and the wolves a rather strong one, the wolves may not have much of a chance against other teams. Hopefully the Wolves can pull their act together and regain their image as a strong team.

BlackHill Mafia's Northern Rhino's (48) Vs Sultka's Thunder (30)
The Northern Rhinos provided a good game against Thunders, but overall the entire game was a death match. Each side had several injuries sustained. The Rhinos held a strong defense for the first halve allowing 1 try and coversion in. In return the Rhinos took 36 points into the Thunders try line. In the second half, the first 20 minutes saw several tries for both sides.
The Northern Rhinos are known for their strong defense and hard tackling. Some Officials believe the Rhino's will be "The team" this season. Amoungst the "teams" that are good are the Rhinos, Wolves, Giants and the LH Dragons. Lets hope the Rhinos can play well next friday night against the Red Wolves.

Beerandfootys Booz (6) Vs Easton Suburbs Eagles (18)
After a match of good team work the eagles came out winners 18-6 against the booz. The eagles can look forward to playin the BHM Dragons this weekend after a good win today. The booz lost their territory for most of the game to the Eagles who only took 18 points.

Crowd: 12,353

Shearwaters Giants (30) Vs Trotsgrad (4):
The Giants held off Trotsgrad for the entire match allowing one try by a slip-through. The Giants played most of the game within their own territory but allowed a few slips to score "30". Trotsgrad were expected to play better and to win, but long-time favorites "Giants" had to ruin it with their spectacular performance tonight. It may have been a good match for the Giants, but the dreams for leading the ladder this season could be upset this weekend against the Locke Harbour Dragons. The Dragons are expected to win against the Giants. Each Win counts on the ladder. One or two losses could see you to the bottom of the ladder with a hard chance of fighting back to the top.

Crowd: 43,353 (Record)

The Locke Harbour Dragons and the Giants are the most popular teams as we speak. The dragons have slightly a few more numbers but the Giants are holding on tight. We wish the Giants a good game against the Dragons this week.
Thanks

OOC: How could Trotsgrad get 4 points? A try in rugby is worth 5 points, penalty worth 3, drop goal worth 3 and convert 2 but in order to score a convert one must score a try. Just noting that the Trotsgrad score is an error so that someone might fix it (by changing it to 3 or 5, I dont care which just care for it to look realistic) :)

PS: Go Dragons!

DRAGONS ARE BACK!

INTERNATIONAL - With all the hype at home about the prime ministerial wedding and the Jodoski incident no one is paying attention to the Locke Harbour Dragons though they should be.

The Dragons played their first match in the International Rugby League and were able to come out with a huge 42-12 win over the Mexicana Bulls.

The Dragons came out with a ton of fury as in the opening 3 minutes they were able to rumble towards the opposition 22 before Owen Tucker grabbed the ball off a ruck and barged in for a try. Owen Clarke hit the convert and it was 6-0 for the Dragons before a predominently Mexicana supporting crowd.

In the 9th minute it was the Dragons again, this time off a 5 metre scrum, 8-man Owen Clarke grabbed the ball and plowed through the blind side winger and into the zone for a score to make it 12-0 after Clarke hit the convert.

In the 12th minute the Dragons received a scare however when Greg Hutson collided with a Mexicana player and went down hard. He had to be carried off on a stretcher and although the Dragons are not saying much about his injuries it did look to be related to his neck and spinal area.

Jim Goldstone substituted in for Hutson however the injury to Hutson deflated the Dragons and Mexicana took full advantage of this. Mexicana scored 2 quick tries at the 22nd minute and the 29th minute to make the score 12-12 (after their kicker made both converts) The Dragons however were able to rebound off a penalty play when lock Owen Tucker burst through the line for a try in the 35th minute that with the convert made it 18-12.

Heading into the second half the Dragons blew open the game from the beginning as winger Mark Anderson ran circles around the opposition backs in the 49th minute and into the zone for a try. Owen Clarke unfortunately missed the convert which brought a series of whistles from the primarily Mexicana supporters.

In the 54th minute it was more Dragon running, this time by lock Owen Tucker who again was able to pick up a loose ball in a ruck and rumble into the zone for another try. Clarke missed the convert again and was treated to a lot of jeers from the crowd despite the Dragons now being up by 26-12.

In the 60th minute after a few failed attempts to break past the Mexicana 22 marker, Clarke hit a dropkick from the 30 yard marker to make the score 29-12 for the Dragons. Clarke also was successful on a penalty kick in the 71st minute as the Dragons again strengthened their lead to 32-12.

In the 81st minute winger Kirk Vincent was able to get the ball via an overlap and score with Clarke making the convert to up the score to 38-12.

Finally in the 85th minute winger Kirk Vincent was able to get the ball into the corner for the Dragons final score with Clarke again missing the convert to the whistles of the Mexicana fans. The Dragons however were successful with a final score of 42-12.

Sorry, but i was playing the rules of Australian Rugby League. It follows all League i think. But its 4 points and a conversion is worth an additional 2. So 4 and 2 is 6. If you dont quite understand this, i'll change it to 5....
Thanks.

To PopularFreedom:

I wish you well when you take on the Shearwater Giants. Playing them will take you into a whole new game and atmosphere. Their offense, kicking and strong lines of defense make the oppenents re-think their mental and physical game. If you defeat them, you will lead the ladder, but if they defeat you they lead the ladder. This game is for the "First Place" start for the season. Personally i hope you (LH Dragons) win against the Giants. The Giants are long-time favs and need to be pulled into line. Get out there, and tackle them hard. We wish you well

To Trotsgrad:
We wish you well too

OOC: Cool here in Canada tries are worth 5 but all good, never knew that about the Aussy league. At the World Cup though they are worth 5 as well for the record but again since you already started them as 4 then I guess we keep them as such. I will alter my RP about my first game a bit to match therefore.

Dramatic action in the second half, ensured a good and well-earnt win against the Wolves. Known for their strong offense, the Rhino's pulled this job off to stay on top of the ladder. The Wolves said they could have played a lot better, but the game was with the Rhinos. The Wolves will drop down on the ladder after a big loss. Officials representing the Wolves said that the team has won 1 and lost one. Hopefully next weekend, the wolves can start to pull up again into the lead. The wolves lost several players to injuries while the Rhinos left Injury-Free to go into the Third Week of the season.

If the Northern Rhino's are defeated, maybe! Then the only threats are the Locke Harbour Dragons and the other team, what is it? Oh yeah the Red Wolves from the hosting nation. Although, it may be awhile until we get ousted. But that may be this Round, hopefully not.

Northern Rhino's (22) Vs Shearwater Giants (36):

Strong Offense against Strong Defense, strong kicking against strong strong running. This was what was endured in the first half. The Northern Rhinos lead 18-12, in the first 28 mins, but a slip-through and conversion by Halfback - Ian Barnes, saw the Giants tied by the 32nd minute. A strong comeback, more like revenge saw the best offense tactics in the History of the IRL against the Giants. Winger - Greg Watt managed to knock down a try slipping through a good solid defense, but missed the conversion. The Defenders (Giants) then turned to offenders, smashing through the rather weak defense of the Rhino's scoring 2 trys and conversions. With the Giants again with the balls just 3 minutes before half-time, 5/8 - Malcolm Frasier, made a rather solid run at the defense, flicked it to Centre - Andrew Coley, who then passed low to Winger - Tony Stewart, running down the right side of the field, then with much of the defense on his trail, long passed to Prop Forward - Chris Charles, who ran towards the try line to be tackled, but a flick pass to the halfback before hitting the ground, took a try and made the conversion seconds before the half-time bell.

Well, the Rhino's need to play well in the next half, to make a comeback, other wise the Giants could slip a massive win.

Northern Rhino's (26) Vs Shearwater Giants (54):

The Rhino's hopes for leading the Ladder furthur into the season were ended with their loss to the Dominating Giants. View website www.geocities.com/internationalrugbyleague for the ladder.

7 minutes after the second-half started, Centre - Ed Small scored after a set-up from the wingers. The Giants held up the strongest defence ever but let the Rhino's have a slip to enjoy an extra 4 points to their score. After a missed conversion, the Rhino's had to put up a defense against the Giants.
Prop Forward - Paul Heights of the Giants put on a display after an excellent pass from dummy-half to run into the weak defenses. Paul progressed some metres before he was tackled by fishers, small and the london brothers. Paul
passed to half-back, then to 5/8 who ran through an open defense. NR Hooker - Hussein isaacs tried to close the gap, with a tackle to 5/8, but injured himself in the process. Hussein Isaacs suffered leg injuries, although only minor. A second injurie came after the Giants scored their last try and conversion, 11 minutes before full-time. Trying to close the gap on the score, Prop Forward - Michael harry, had a big hit-up by the Giants front rowers.
He suffered spinal injuries. Enough to pull him out of the season, if approved by doctors. The Giants did not suffer any injuries though.

Giants Coach Cliff Bent: "an excellent match, injury free, and for the No.1 spot on the ladder. We go unbeaten into Round 4 on tuesday. The more training and less injuries, the better performance. We hope we go good next round"

An excellent game. Congradulations to the Giants on another Win!

With a bad start, we finally scored and won our a match. Although many believe we have no chance to get into the top of the ladder and into the finals. We personally side with that. Were looking at coming at around second or third last on the ladder for this season. But i've decided to re-organize my team and get maybe a second win against the Red Wolves this week. Our team will get a make-over, better training and better methods of play. We believe this could be our downfall if not repaired. We will have strong hopes in Round 4 against the Wolves. Well, this day had to come. Heading into the match taking on the Locke Harbour Dragons from PopularFreedom we has already won 5 matches. No losses. All 5 were in a row. A 5 win streak.

A devasting, perhaps heart-breaking loss against the Locke Harbour Dragons went down today at 32-16. On a previous occasion, we had defeated the Dragons big, but you can't win 'em all, and top team Locke Harbour Dragons won that won.

The Locke Harbour Dragons provided the best defense, and a dodgy offense, but still won the match. The first 7 minutes saw top giants player 5/8 - Malcolm Frasier slip in through a strong defense avoiding a tackle from Fullback Portskow and Wingers Vincent & Anderson. Hooker Tim Shepard then converted it to make a 6. Furthur into the game, the giants scored another 10. A "6" from Prop Forward C.Charles and a try, but no conversion from Second Row Forward Gareth Nathans, a rather new player to the game.
But after half-time, the giants lost it. They has managed to hold off for the first-half at 16-0. The Locke Harbour Dragons scored 32 points. 5 tries and conversions from Portskow, Vincent, Yani Michaels & Papanelo. Portskow scored twice and was man of the match. Just seconds before full-time, the dragons decided to add a two-pointer field goal from Hooker Brett Nelson.
Thousands of fans were devasted after this loss, but giants coach Cliff Bent said
"were a top team, and proud of it. We can play our best and win, and play our best and loose. Its a game. All teams have wins and losses. We were at the stage of making a 6th win in our winning streak but it wasn't possible, sooner or later it would be broken. But we play a team that performs good but perhaps can not beat us. The first encounter of the LHD was good and result-proven but the knew our weaknesses. But we gonna get back out there and start again. Forget out loss and get back into the game and perform better than our usual standards. I'm real proud of me boys."

The Giants still lead the ladder, and one loss won't change it.
Thank You

With the number of wins and losses being even, and not playing good, the wolves went up against Trotsgrad with a win 46-12.

After a hard fought first-half, Trotsgrad led 12-0. But after a rather dull start to the game and to the second-half, the wolves made a comeback with 46 points. 7 tries and two field goals put the wolves back on the line. Trotsgrad then struggled to clutch the ball, even though most of the game was played within their territory.
An excellent win!

BHM Dragons (6) Vs Shearwater Giants (20)
Easton S. Eagles (24) Vs Northern Rhinos (28)

Our Dragons are playing well below what was expected by our nations fans and the BHM RL, and the Northern Rhino's are playing a game of "perfection" well close to it. There clutching a good position on the ladder, one could note.

The Dragons were defeated 20-6 by the Shearwater Giants (a much loved number 1 team in our nation, so little support for our national team occured). The Giants are just to good for everyone, except maybe the Locke Harbour Dragons, of whom they have lost and won to.

Our disputed Northern Rhino's, a newer style and newer players have embraced the game and have slowly worked their way up, still continuing for the lead dominated of course by the Giants. They narrowly won today's game against the Easton S. Eagles 28-24.

Here are a few questions for all to answer if they want (not compulsary):
1. Will the Giants reach a decline and major fall this season?
2. Who, in your opinion will win the Grand Finals?
3. Will the underdogs such as the booz, our dragons, thunder and ESE become a more major player in the game?
4. Who will become the "Wooden Spooners" (Last Place - An Australian Term)?
5. If it comes down to a match (eg. grand finals) between say the Locke Harbour Dragons and the Northern Rhinos or Giants, who will win?

Please note you do not have to answer the above questions, just wanting opinions from others. If you want you can add tactics and other forms of play as part of your answers.

Others not playing this season are welcome to answer the questions!

1. Will the Giants reach a decline and major fall this season?

Generally i believe that the Giants will not reach such a fall, but may only loose 3 or 4 matches this season, and will make it to the Finals

2. Who, in your opinion will win the Grand Finals?

It will come down to LH. Dragons and the Giants, with the dragons taking it all away and winning. It will be a challenge though.

3. Will the underdogs such as the booz, our dragons, thunder and ESE become a more major player in the game?

Thunder will win a few more games, not to dramastic though, much the same as the dragons and booz. However the Easton S. Eagles will break-through and go as far as the Semi-Finals but will be ousted from power for the season.

4. Who will become the "Wooden Spooners" (Last Place - An Australian Term)?

Good question. Maybe Trotsgrad or Thunder. Most likely to be thunder, trotsgrads playing a little better as well continue.

5. If it comes down to a match (eg. grand finals) between say the Locke Harbour Dragons and the Northern Rhinos or Giants, who will win?

Not the Northern Rhinos! It will be the Giants and the Locke Harbour Dragons. The Dragons will win. The scores wont be to far apart however. The Giants will dominate the season but their dreams for a first ever grandfinal will be ruined by the Dragons

What do others think???

Here's a system i've created, you can adjust it for each game.
A Paradise Cove: I hope you can use it. Ive added mine for now. If i need to adjust it for a game i'll simply edit it or whatever comes my way.

Attacking: 7
Defending: 9
Kicking: 8
Technique: 8
Running: 9
Overall: 9

Maximium: 50

Just simply add the above, and all scores of the talent must add up to or less than 50. 10 is the highest you can have for each talent.
Does this system suit everyone?

Halfback - Andrew Sterling
Hooker - Anthony Wing
Prop Forward - Jason Rock
Prop Forward - Steven Ryans
Second Row Forward - Luke Sing
Second Row Forward - Nathan Williams
Lock - Timmothy Webe

Bench:
Rhyan Seemore
Gary Ford
Thomas Ford
Ben Simon

OOC:

I like the idea for the different strengths = 50 idea...

Strategies: Coach Wright is a former flanker so he prefers 8-man pickups, crashing the line etc. The Dragons have a formidable pack. Their backs are okay but if it comes down to a fight between forward packs, coach Wright has them training to win every battle.

Here are my numbers plus Coach Wright's take on them in quotes:

Attacking: 10
'that is how the Dragons play, give it to the pack and crash'
Defending: 9
'hit, ruck, hit, ruck, hit, ruck; just common sense really'
Kicking: 6
kicking is for them pansies from Locke Harbour South - archrivals of the Dragons in the PopularFreedom Rugby League
Technique: 6
exactly how do you obtain technique when running someone over anyhow?
Running: 10
why stand still when you can plow someone over?
Overall: 9

Hi all,

Please let me know when the next season is beginning as I am interested in playing.

Also, is this run through a website, or purely through forums. If there is no website, may I suggest you create one (preferably where we can all update our own info).

Good luck with the rest of the season!

Giants (30) Vs Bulls (16)
Thunder (0) Vs Locke Harbour Dragons (28)
Easton. S Eagles (28) Vs BHM Dragons (38)
Red Wolves (43) Vs Booz (16)
Northern Rhinos (24) Vs Trotsgrad (10)

Well the dominant Bulls continue their rampage after defeating the Bulls. Does anyone think they could be the 'Grand Final Winners'?
Locke Harbour Broke through a rather loose defense and scored 28 to win 28-0. The Dragons from BlackHill Mafia turned up on a rather dull day and defeated 38-28 against the Eagles, while the booz suffered a loss to the wolves 43-16, and Trotsgrad just couldnt hold up the defense and allowed the game to be played most of the time in Trotsgrad Territory, even though the Northern Rhinos suffered major injuires.
Well thats todays results.
Watch out for a nail-biteing round tommorow...
BlackHill Mafia
04-11-2005, 02:32
The Northern Rhinos extended their mastery over Trotsgrad as Trotsgrads effort to maintain the beast of the Rhino's came out to become a loss, making Trotsgrad slide down the ladder, and proberbly eliminate all chances of making it into the finals.
Trotsgrad looked to break through and win against a strong team.

After a 10-0 Halftime with Trotsgrad leading, the Northern Rhino's decided before it was to late to pop in and say hi to the try-line several times. The Northern Rhinos despite their win, suffered an injury to the 5/8, left wing, Lock and the fullback. A match that could see the Northern Rhino's hopes broken for the rest of the season.

Well i see in the last post they used stats, iv'e decided to copy this idea and add it to my report.

Giants (30) Vs Bulls (16)

Well, all know of the ability the Giants have thus bringing results. Unforntunalty due to circumstances, the Beloved Bulls (Most of our nation) come up short with 16, 14 behind the monster of a team the Giants.
We suffered one injury to our hard running Half-Back, and a sub will take his position until he returns. The sub is most likely to be John Williams, a young star who is yet to embrace his first full-game with the giants, after he signed up with them just before the seasons start. Knight, Rock & Walker scored tries each, none were converted then in the 76th minute, a fine set-up from Knight allowed Walker to slip-through, running hard towards the line, with all behind slowing, then the Giants Fullback set into position, ran towards and tackled, but Walker flicked to trailing Lock Dusty Gregs who ran up the right line and scored. 5/8 Luke Donald Took the conversion but missed narrowly.

Match Stats:
Scrums: 8
Sets: 45
Hitups: 142
Tackles: 297
MisTackles: 12
Offloads: 22
Errors: 11

The Bulls can look forward for perhaps an easy game against the Eagles tommorow.

We will re-shuffle our team to make up for our injuries alittle.

Fullback - Trevor Skinnings
Winger - Bary Brett
Winger - Phil Rumble
Centre - William Knight
Centre - Jason Rock
5/8 - Replacing Luke Donald for rest of Season - Tony O'connor
Halfback - Sub for Gary Portman - John Williams
Hooker - Andrew Gould
Prop Forward - Shane Walker

Second Row Forward - Norman Dugs
Lock - Dusty Gregs

Bench:

Luke Donald
- Replacing Luke Donalds pos. for the remander of Season - Tony O'connor
- Moved for time been to Half-Back - John Williams
NEW SUB!!!
Andrew S. Grant
He has been able to sit in as sub for the rest of season, and his play will determine his position as such next season. He aims to be Fullback and has exceptional skills in running & Catching. Coach Trevor Blue said the New sub, New Man & New Warrior Andrew S. Grant may be the Bulls next thing.

So we lost 18-10!
Well these things happen, dont they!

Its that time of the season!
Tri-Nations:

Theres 10 teams but myself "Wolves" wont be playing where hosting.

9 teams have to be put into 3 teams.
So three groups of three, the leading nation will decided the teams name & player. Match 1 is tommorow:

Team 1:
Shearwaters
Trotsgrad
Thunder

Team 2:
Bulls
Northern Rhinos
ES Eagles

Team 3:
Locke Harbour Dragons
BHM Dragons
Booz

These team combinations should be an interesting line-up & therfore match.

Match 1 Tommorow - Team 2 Vs Team 3, Team 1 - Bye
Match 2 Tuesday - Team 3 Vs Team 1, Team 2 - Bye
Match 3 Wednesday - Team 1 Vs Team 2, Team 3 - Bye
Match 4 Thursday - Team 1 Vs Team 3, Team 2 - Bye
Match 5 Friday - Team 2 Vs Team 1, Team 3 - Bye
Match 6 Saturday - Team 3 Vs Team 2, Team 1 - Bye

Finals (Sunday): Team ? Vs Team ?

To make it to the finals you must win all 4 times or win the most and take on second place. There may be ties!

Could all teams submit there players and team as quickly as possible.
So Shearwaters, Bulls & Locke Harbour are the leads for each team, your the ones responsible and have full control over your team.

Please note that due to Tri-Nations, the IRL will not be running this week, but will resume next monday!

Well this should be a great team led by Giants Coach - Cliff Bent and Thunders Coach "Peter Watts" assisting Cliff.

Match 1 Results: Team 2 Vs Team 3, Team 1 - Bye

Team 2 - Bulls, Northern Rhinos & ES Eagles Vs
Team 3 - Locke Harbour Dragons, BHM Dragons & Booz

A great game, but team 2 just had to ruin the fun with a win over team 3 in the first match of Tri-Nations 22-18

Match 2 Tuesday - Team 3 Vs Team 1, Team 2 - Bye

Well the losing team plays a team yet to experience a taste of the popular Tri-Nations in Nation States.
Team 1 - Razor Backs:
Shearwaters
Trotsgrad
Thunder

A fine combination here with the majority being shearwaters and a few spots taken by top players from the Under-Dog teams Trotsgrad & Thunder!
However it said that Team 3 will crush Team 1, lets wait & see tommorow.
Hint: Team 3 is Better! But that may not be the case!

Razorbacks smash Team 2, lightly though!

The Razorbacks smashed hard through the defense of Team 2, but just couldn't score well, although they won 10-0!
As it says above "smash' referred to the injuries sustained on Team 2. According to good sources, Team 2, sustained 3 injuries, 2 major, 1 minor to top players 2 from the Bulls & 1 from the Northern Rhino's.

Tri-Nations Ladder
T1 - 2 Win
T2 - 1 Win, 1 Loss
T3 - 2 Loss

Footy Experts believe the Razor Backs will win this seasons Tri-Nations, although things could change, but its most likely.

Match 4 Thursday - Team 1 Vs Team 3, Team 2 - Bye
Match 5 Friday - Team 2 Vs Team 1, Team 3 - Bye
Match 6 Saturday - Team 3 Vs Team 2, Team 1 - Bye

Well tommorow, Team 1 takes on Team 3 again, remember last time, 3 was knocked down from standing in the way, so 1 won the match. Will 3 come back for a smashing return, most likely not, or will the Razor Backs contiue their wins?

Heres a little demo report:
"Hi, i'm Bob Smith broadcasting from the IRL Studios
And in the latest match, the Giant were thrashed by the Northern Rhino's from BlackHill Mafia in an Onslaught game where the Halfback so & so was seriously injured after recieving a pass from dummy-half, then running straight up the left wing and then taken out by several NR Players, and the Halfback suffered spinal injuries which could see him out for the remander of the season, lets hope not for the fans sake and for the Giants sake.
The Northern Rhino's defeated the Giants 22-12 in one of the best ever games tactic wise. Unlike the previous season where the giants took defensive as a main priority, they now do offensive, which has reflected their bad scores, lets see if the can perform better against another team next week.
Well thats all for now

This season i favoured the Northern Rhino's but will be their rival in the second season. But i will be supporting the Giants in the grand finals, c'mon people what about you. Who are you supporting?

Locke Harbour Dragons from PopularFreedom or Giants from Shearwaters???

The Giants have almost an injury free team & have the perfect line-up going into the grand finals. Locke Harbour have an even better line-up but have several players missing. Obviously, the giants will hopefully go for what there good at. Defense, if they can hold out for as long as possible, maybe slip in a couple of tries etc, they could win it. I dont know what Locke Harbour will do! Defense or Offense?
Shearwaters
21-11-2005, 10:15
OCC: Yes, correct. Oh & Welcome to the IRL. I hope you enjoy the IRL II you signed up for...
Moving on...
We have a completly healthly team and only one injurie while at the last count, Locke Harbour has three.
We will be focusing more and heavily on defense, but to win (if) we will need to rely on our speedy wingers & forwards. Ian Barnes, our famous half-back will try to avoid possible injury tommorow so he can enter the next season healthy, but will not stop him playing mean. Our forwards are healthy and good & will be vital in the finals tommorow. All the players who fly the banner "The Bench" will play for some time tommorow to prove their skill & knowledge so they can be signed for another seasons contract. Ian Barnes will play the next three seasons with a salary of $742,220 as the star player while 5/8 Malcolm Frasier will play the next two seasons for only $579,700. Barnes & Frasier are what keeps the Giants alive & strong without them.

The entire country, save maybe those in Locke Harbour South who hate the Dragons and anything to do with Locke Harbour North, will be cheering for our rugby men! The final made front page news in the national paper too! Check it out: LOCKE HARBOUR DRAGONS IN IRL FINALS (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/)

Final Score: 18-12

A devasting match for the Giants, who only lost 4 matches this season, & a hard earnt victory for Locke Harbour. The giants held up a strong defense for the entire game except the last 15 minutes, scored twice & done some serious damage to Locke Harbour. In the last 15 minutes, Winger Mark Anderson dropped in twice, to make the score even. With only seconds to go Anderson again made the run with Owen Tucker by his side, with three forwatd closing in on anderson, tucker took the long pass and slipped in passed the fullback for another 4 points. Frank Swallorry took the conversion, and they won 18-12. But Locke Harbour despite their win had to use body bags on the side-line for their injuiries some minor some major.

Josh Papanelo

Owen Tucker (after full-time)

Well i'm sure the giants have learnt a vital lesson, but will not be so dominant next year, however Locke Harbour could easily be....

Well congradulations to Locke Harbour & sorry Shearwaters...

Greetings to all,

Just wanted to congratulate all involved in the IRL for a well run tourney and great matches. The Giants were an awesome opponent and we look forward to playing them again in the future though hopefully we will not be so worn down by them next time. We paid the price with the victory as now with the injuries today we only have 7 starters available for a while. However I know no one in Locke Harbour, in the nation of PopularFreedom, and definetly in our locker room is complaining as we are the champs of the world. Again a great match put forth by the Giants and we look forward to starting up a great rivalry with them in the future.

Sincerely, Keith Wright
Head Coach & GM of the Locke Harbour Dragons

OOC: Check for news on this win in tomorrow's edition (meaning I have not posted it yet cause of the end of a rebellion in my nation taking first page in all the papers today) of the PopularFreedom Ticker (http://www.geocities.com/PopularFreedomTicker/)

We are wondering if bulls players Centre William Knight, Prop Forward John Walker & Second Row Forward - Fred Clink are signed for the second season! We could negotiate a deal for them to play for us! They have exceptional talent & we could do with more.

IRL II - Salary Caps are $3.25 Million the same as the Australian NRL.
You can list this for your team etc
My higest paid player is Ian Barnes who will as of now, after the changes brought in to our nation today be paid $842,220 per season while Tim Hartly (Bench) only recieves $103,138.
