This is a new character RP, Co- authored by Assington and myself, with permission from Gorgamin - It is a Heroic Fantasy motif, but NOT all 'Sweetness and light'- so be warned! Orome and Nero - the two returning characters are in no way your average heroes. This is set in the world of Legend of the Black Blade (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=424243&page=1&highlight=Legend+Black+Blade) It is set sometime after, the Sorcerer King has been driven from Perilon, but still hold the other nations and city states he had conquered. His armies are rebuiding and rearming, he'd hurt, but definitely not gone. Other evil stirs in a world that has been peaceful for many generations - in fact most nations don't even have standing armies...

Please - only gamers who want to get truly into their characters, and are willing to make quality posts of far more than just one line!

Not all character concepts will fit in here, so you must TG Assington or myself, or post them here in the OOC thread for vetting.

Do NOT post in the IC thread with out posting here first. and being accepted

Please keep all OOC here, not in the main thread, and please be advised that this RP is rated R.

There will be blood, gore, language and sex. Don't join or read the thread with out being aware of this!

I'll bring Aliria in, if that's all right. I think Roania is going to bring Fakar back in too.

OOC: Wasn't there a shitty movie with this same title?

OOC: I belive it was a romantic-esque film... Just because automatic weapons and high explosives aren't used doesn't make it a shitty movie, MS...

What characters would I be dealing with? It will help me craft a character I can get into and fit with the RP a lot easier.

Orome - half human half demonic- has healing ability and supernatural skill with a blade. Practical, level headed, and not necessarily one of the good guys - but you couldn't ask for a better person at your back. Rides a Hellcorn a carnivourous, intellegent demonic that looks like a burly black unicorn and breathes fire.

Nero- mage- cool, calm, calculateing. Deadly with his magics, in the end out for himself, at one time the Sorcerer King secret agent - maybe he still is..

Aliria - Queen of Perilon, managed to escape the madness the befalls those who weild the Black Blade, but - if she still carries it may yet fall into it's grasp?

Fakar- southerner, swarthy, his eagle beak of a nose is constantly getting broken ( and Orome is constantly healing it ) He is a premier assassin. Orome does not think that highly of him, but he is a known quantity.

Hm...An interesting concept. I'd like to cash in on the idea.

Nexlon-A masked wanderer of an unknown age armed only with what seems to be a bamboo walking stick. A mysterious figure, he is often seen dwelling in forests; it is said Nexlon is gifted with a certian power over all types of Flora. Nexlon is reported to be a very skilled in combat, using the very earth around him to aid him in battle. No one is quite sure what side Nexlon in on, nor what his aims and goals are.

Um...I think we're actually assuming that in saving her kingdom, she freed her father from the sorcerer and HE took back over as King, so she'd still be a Princess. At least that's what I was assuming. And I read over Legend and didn't see anyplace where the King is specifically referred to as dead. I could have missed something- please let me know if I did.

That said, the way I see it is that Aliria decided that life as a Princess was dull after all of her adventures- so she goes out adventuring again. I'm still deciding if the Black Blade actually got destroyed or if she still has it- I'll let you know.

Gorg- my mistake then, Aliria is perfectly welcome to come adventuring with us!

and Ravea, if Nexlon can put up with us, you are most welcome to join.

Please feel free to start posting - I'd suggest making your way to the inn - it's as good a gathering place as any

There is going to be one absolute rule in place.

Please, please do NOT do what Ravea just did above.

that is cut/paste/quote from the post you are responding to.

it is lazy and inconsiderate of the other players.

Take the time to do something in your post to indicate who/what you are replying to.

I tend to do something like this:

I'm sure he'll find your group most satisfying.

I hope he will

And please understand that I am not picking on you, Ravea, specifically.

Your post just brought my all time pet peeve to the fore and I used you as an example.

Thanks and welcome aboard.

Second rule - no sigs in IC thread/ game play posts, please!

*Cowers*

Sorry, I'm a lazy bastard. It's not like I would do such a thing in the IC thread, however.

Even I'm not that lazy.

LOL, please don't cower, it's so unbecoming...

and brings out the predator in me.

My apologies, Ravea, I truly wan't meaning to pick on you personally, it's just that you did it and the pet peeve reared it's ugly head.

I had to feed it or it would have broken loose and gone rampaging through NS, and then on to II...can you imagine the slaughter...."oh the humanity!"...or something like that. :p

OOC: Such a devious bastard this Jolt-thing is...

My three-paragraph posting was apparently eaten, speaking of feeding things, Tanara. Your peeve seems to have eaten my post.

Oh well... What was his name again?

Ah yes, the Argonian Monk I had created sometime sunday...

Tavik Relkesh:
Relkesh hails from a rather remote portion of the Black Marsh, from the little-known religious group known as 'The Brotherhood of Strife'. The Brotherhood's members are, naturally, all male. Their belief in enlightenment through hardship attracts few followers, and as such their numbers remain extremely small. Tavik is one of their most recent converts. An orphan from an early age, he happened on the compound during his wanderings, dazed and half-dead from lack of food, water, or rest. Since that time he has been a most devout servant of the Brotherhood's ways. As is the custom, the twenty-fifth anniversary of the member's arrival, he must depart again to expeirence the harsh realities of the outside world for another twenty-five years, and then return with stories of his expeirences.

During the aforementioned time, the monk must remain true to the three core values of piety, serenity, and charity. If the member fails to exemplify these values, he must leave again for another period of twenty-five years. (Considering Argonians live an average of two-hundred years, with Brotherhood monks living in excess of three, these periods are relatively short.)

Tavik has completed his initial training and indoctrination, and that day of departure was a week ago. While taught the ways of the Brotherhood from his early age, he is still young by Argonian standards. Trained extensively in the Brotherhood's self-defenstive arts, he is able to hold his own in an altercation. Through meditative prayer, he is capable of healing most minor wounds. These two skills are the extent of any special abilites he is currently aware of, but others way await the proper stimuli...

Sound acceptable?

OOC: That's kind of the point. His period of time outside the monestary is supposed to be more than a walk in the marshes.

I noticed there was a sign up thread just a little too late. I feel quite moronic. Tanara told me I could post a bio and perhaps ninja my way into the thread, so here goes.

Brother-Missionary Hekatus would be considered a dangerous maverick by any other standards, but the God-Machine often plays favorites, floating His most efficient pawns above laws and morals. Hekatus prefers a truly sinister method of bringing new flesh to His Mechanicum – positioning his quarry to fall into vice again and again, until their defenses are stripped, their souls laid bare and black before the God-Machine. Vulnerable and desperate, they come clamoring before His Greatness. In this way, the Missionary reaps the perfect harvest from the seeds he sows. In a small tavern, his newest prospects gather. Despite how powerful his targets are, perfectly orchestrated manipulation has brought down giants among men before...

LOl this could be immensely interesting, - bring it on - but fair warning, some of our characters like their vices already, and if you push them too hard, may make life....interesting for your character.

Welcome aboard, and I think we also have a new character coming...
Agronaria
12-10-2005, 05:31
I apologize for being so late but I am rather new to this. I hope my character will be to your likings.

Prince Raven Caesar - The son of King Alamarr Caesar of Agronaria. Though he is the prince of his kingdom, he is not his fathers son. Thought of as the philosopher prince to many, his blood boils with ideas of rebellion. Intelligent and unlike his father, he is level headed and calm when dealing with the people he rules over. He is a mortal-human, who was trained at an early age to be a general in his father's army. He is well trained in weaponry and deadly with a sword. Though not as well trained with a bow and arrow, he may use it if the skill is necessary. He is in his late twenties, stands at 5'9, with raven hair to match his name, brown eyes, and naturally quick. He dresses completely in black. Over his black tunic he wears black, chest plate armor with a raven on the front of it. Though he was born within a castle, he is not a lover of luxuries and can be found often outdoors wandering the land.

Once again, hope my character is approved.
P.S. Open to criticism since this is my first character.

Just a heads up for everyone. Nexlon won't make his entrance in the inn-he's not really the type to be around so many people He'll be around as soon as the party sets out to wherever they are going. Beware; you may need to fight him first before he joins the party.

Just a warning. Don't wait for me in the Inn.
Tanara

LOL Ravea- they have something coming to them to fight before they even leave the inn...

Okay players you have a dragon, one out of the bedamned legends and why, oh why me, what did I do to deserve this...Dragon.

This is a very large dragon, its' priamatic, faintly luminescent scales are nearly inpenatrable, and they are slick to boot, so the tips of thrusting weapons just tend to skid over them...

There are only a small hand full of vulnerable places- the hand span areas around the anal vent, around the sexual organs, and the area at the base of the throat where it joins the neck. The eyes ( but there are those protective ridges all around, and the interior of the nostrils - the mouth isn't as vulnerable as that is the projection chamber of the breath weapon...

Dramgons have an immense amount of mass, and will squash you like a bug with the bulk of their body if possible...they are lazy that way... and they have two fore claw attacks, two hind claw attacks, two wings sweep/buffet/attack ( the downdraft/ rush of wind they can generate will sweep even a heavyset man off his feet ) a tail sweep, and a bite...

And that doesn't include the spell casting ability...though this one's is limited due to what the sorcerer king has done to him ( forced growth has severely limited it's intellect )

Since I am playing the Dragon, I suggest that you all use this thread to coordinate attacks...and this isn't going to be easy! I hope to see some kick ass writing from all of you! Please don't take your actions too far - don't rush time - remember others are doing this simultaneous with you and it's not fair to make them play catch up or not be able to get their licks in because they are playing catch up

and the dragon gets his attacks as well.

I'm posting a link to the IC thread here, and will keep bumping this thread so that it is easy to find.

Legends of the Fall IC thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=447541)

I am also posting a not in the IC thread that no one is to start the fight with out reading this post here.

Sorry for my lack of attention to the RP but things have been very busy with school. I finish in a few days and am going to be away for a week. Don't let this hold you guys up though, you can simply have Nero move along as well or come up with some other detail that takes him out of the action for a bit.

Sorry for the trouble.
