Goals of the Leftist Coalition
The Leftist Coalition has vowed to commit to four goals:
1. Economic reform. The LC recognizes in full the necessity of improving the Natinari economy by implementing a number of incentives for work, as well as a number of corporate tax breaks. The NDP has headed this plan to help revitalize a stale and immobile economy, and it has also vowed to cut back on welfare spending. The LC has agreed to increase the age of eligibility for social security to 70.
2. Social reform. The LC understands the need for the Natinari people to be diverse, yet united. It is the mission of the government to achieve a level of tolerance and acceptance never before seen in our nation. We must also ensure that teachers are qualified, nursing homes are well-maintained, and that euthanasia is available for those who need it most. The dire need for educational reform is painfully evident, and the LC has vowed to solve this problem by raising standards for students and teachers nationwide. Finally, the healthcare system must be overhauled, for the current mixture of public and private hospitals creates too much confusion, too much bureaucracy. Free healthcare and affordable insurance shall be offered for those making under €35,000 per year, but the rest of the healthcare system must be privatized. Government programs and incentives will aid families that need it.
3. Financial reform. The LC is very aware of the stagnation brought on by deficit spending in government. In order to pay off our debts, we must raise taxes marginally. Taxes to be raised shall be sales taxes and property taxes. Government cuts in wasteful bureaucracy, such as the Office of Fish Conservation, are necessary. The Office has a total staff of 30 individuals and releases a yearly report on the state of fish in the Republic, as well as the Ministry of Environmental Affairs. An estimated €255 million is wasted each year into this waste. Cuts in other government programs should also allow use to produce a surplus so that we may better be able to serve the populace.
4. Foreign Affairs. The LC believes that the Foreign Ministry has been ridiculously inactive for the past decade. The state of our isolation must end, and immediately. The LC plans to set aside an extra €40.5 billion for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that it may spread itself around the world. We must also increase our contribution to the World Bank, and make strides in trade relations. Several blocs are under review at present.
In conclusion, the Leftist Coalition has dedicated itself to excellency. We are confident that are goals will be met within the five-year limit of our term in government, and hopefully inspire the people of Natinar to be the government, not of it. Individual responsibility is something Natinari all have in common, and it is our goal to take advantage of that individual wealth. As one nation, we can move forward into a prosperous future. This task must be completed by Natinari and the government working together -- neither force can carry the full burden. Therefore, in closing, the Lefist Coalition gives words of inspiration: Excel in all that is possible. Never accept defeat.
