Summit Series to Start for Hockey Canadians
"This is a large oppurtunity not only for sport, but for politics as well."
- Vsevlod Bobrov (President of the Hockey Canada Dominion of Amateur Hockey)
Probably one of the biggest rivalries in hockey to date is the rivalry between Oliverry and Hockey Canada. Two countries that love beer, hockey, soccer and just about everything in between. The two countries have very different systems of doing things. The Oliverrians have professionals to represent them in the Cherry Cup while the Hockey Canadians only send amateurs. Oliverry is a very open and democratic country while Hockey Canada is a secretive Communist state. Politics and sport are about to collide.

At the press conference, on 1456, Place Royale, in Marshalliston...
Frank Dube: Welcome everyone to this press conference. As you know, this Summit Series was a lot of work between 2 nations. Each ones had to do their amount of work. But, it wil be rewarded as this Summit Series will happen. This series would not have been possible without the help of some sponsors, that we will name later.
Also, I would like to thank Vsevlod Bobrov, the Hockey Canada Dominion of Amateur Hockey, that had the idea to do this project. First, I was reticent, seeing as Oliverry and Hockey Canada always hated themselves for an uncounted amount of time, but now, we see it's gonna be pretty good.
*journalists applaud*
I'm not finished yet but thanks. It's now time to present the Oliverrian venues for the cup:
The first game will be played at the Place des Anges de Saint-Francois. This arena is one of the oldest in Oliverry. This arena was built in 1997 in order for Les Anges de Saint-Francois to play in it. Very nice arena, it could hold up to 17, 543 people, but since a rebuilt of it, can hold up to 27, 345 people.
The second game will be played at the Marshalliston Arena. Arena called beforeward the Pepsi Arena, 21, 332 people can enter in this arena. Built in 1903 for the frist time, it was rebuilt in 1987. It's architecture is done so that players can hear the fans screaming from the top of the building.
The third game will be played at the Johnson Place, in Rubbermade. This arena has just been completed, so it's all new. It's capacity of 19, 336 people makes that it holds enough people to enjoy this game.
The last game will be played at the Pepsioli Stadium. Simply named before the "Marshalliston Stadium", it was built in 2000. It's been rebuilt in 2010 because of the too high maintenance fees. Some Kaze Progressian architects redesigned the stadium so that it looks beautiful. Now, it is ok to hold any kind of events easily. It held NS Bowl I, III, V finals, Cherry Cup IX final, Atlantian Oceania Hockey Cup II final, as well as some World Cup qualifying games.
Now that the venues have been announced, it's time to announce the Oliverrian team for this Summit Series. The first team composed only of professionals since CC14. Here's the team:
Goalies:
Jean-Bertrand Bouchard
Jules Dubois

Oliverry opens the series with a dinner...
The president-organizer of the series, Frank Dube, welcomed the Hockey Canadians in their language. After, he served the dinner. After the dinner, he made a discourse about how hard it was organize such a series and all. He also talked about the Oliverry Cup idea. It would be an Invitational tournament reuniting 11 nations + Oliverry. Many Stranger people came to this dinner, as the Fmjphoenician Hockey Association president and the Kaze Progressan Hockey Association president as well. After the dinner, he invited anyone to Game 1 to be presented later...
Oliverry wins the first game 3-1
First period summary:
The starting face-off faced Wladimir Mishakov and Guillaume Tremblay. A face-off that Mishakov won. Mid-way through first period, Ivan Petrov shoot from the slot and scores. Hockey Canada leads 1-0. Some fights also started like one implying Petr Tsygankov and Emmanuel Trudeau, with the fight tiying. After 1 period, the score was 1-0 with Hockey Canada leading.
Second Period summary:
At the 13th minute, Vasloc Vasiliev gets a penalty for Holding. Oliverry gets better at Power Play as the game advances and takes advantage of it. Narcisse Michaud redirects Denis Richard's shot directly in the net. Oliverry ties the score 1-1. After 2 periods, the score is 1-1.
Third Period Summary:
At the 4th minute, Mario Francois scores a very lucky goal as his shot gets fumbled by the Hockey Canadian goalie Yuri Zalapek and that gives the lead to Oliverry 2-1. At 18:57 of the 3rd period, Hockey Canada removes their goalie in favor of a 6th player. The strategy didn't work as Laurent Pasteur gets to score in an empty net.
FINAL SCORE:
Oliverry: 3
Hockey Canada: 1

Oliverry loses 2nd game of the Summit series 4-2
Marshalliston, Oliverry
First Period:
At the 6th minute, Etienne Gervais gets an illogical penalty for "delay of game". Everybody, even the Hockey Canadian play-by-play, doesn't understand it. The referee explained it by a new rule being voted 5 minutes before the game. Hockey Canadian player Mikhail Perozhoginov scores on the Power Play and takes the lead 1-0. At the 14th minute, Oliverry ties the score with a backhand shot by Julien L'Heureux. So, after 1 period, the score is tied 1-1.
Second Period:
At the 9th minute, Oliverry takes the lead with a powerplay goal from Joseph Lessard, helped by Maxime Aubry. At the 16th minute, Hockey Canada ties again with a sohrthanded goal by Alexander Maltsev, which took advantage of the removed red line to score an all-alone goal. Score is tied 2-2 after 40 minutes.
Third Period:
For the first 10 minutes, nothing happened as both teams were playing defensively. But, Hockey Canada called a timeout. This timeout probably made them win since they adopted a strategy that made them score 2 goals in 30 seconds. That was enough for the Oliverrian coach that asked a timeout as well. But, it was too late and Oliverry lost 4-2.

Oliverry loses again... Thanks to a mentally deficient referee
Rubbermade, Limbrogidlia: Another game, another loss. Oliverry got a chance to take again the lead, but didn't success...
First Period: 12 seconds in the game and already 1-0 for Oliverry as Laurent Pasteur scores a very questionable goal. The Hockey Canadian goalie protested against it, saying he got tripped, but the referees reviewed the play and the goal was allowed. At 12:36 of the period, Marko Mikhailov scored his first goal of the day. At the 18th minute, the referee sent 3 players at the penalty bench for no apparent reason. From those 3, 2 were Oliverrians. The crowd was not in a good mood to finish this period.
Second period: After 40 seconds, Viacheslav "Slava" Shadrin scores the second Hockey Canandian goal. At 9:58 of the period, Maxime Aubry scored from the blue line. At 14:58 of the period, the referee gives again unjustified penalties to 3 players. This time, all 3 are from Hockey Canada. The Oliverrian players were shouting at the referee. Finally, only 2 players got to the bench. This leaded to the 3rd goal of Oliverry. A backhand shot from Joseph Lessard. The period ended 3-2 with Oliverry leading.
Third period:
The third period started strangely. At 1:35, 2 fights started simultaneously. The 2 fights finished tied with all players getting a 5 minute for fighting. Plus the 2 first that fought got a 2 minute for being the instigator. This seemed to wake up the Hockey Canadian players as they scored 3 goals. First, Marko Mikhailov scored his second of the day on a breakaway. After, Wladimir Mishakov scored another goal. At 14:36, Marko Mikhailov scored his 3rd goal of the day. This seemed to knockout the Oliverrian players that finally saw what the Hockey Canadians were able to do.
FINAL SCORE:
Hockey Canada: 5
Oliverry: 3

Crimson Communist Canucks take 2 games in series, tie 4th game in Oliverry
4-4 tie moves the series to Hockey Canada with a lead in the series.
The Hockey Canadian team has not made much of an impact off the ice in the summit series so far, but on the ice it was about time there was some retribution for their embarrassing loss in the opening game of the series. Slava Shadrin leads the series after his 3 goal clinic in game 4 at Pepsioli Stadium, much to the dismay of the Oliverrian players.
Period 1: Lessard got the scoring going in game 4 only 31 seconds into the game with a long feed pass from Tremblay on a breakout. A dazzling deke to fool Tresov got the Oliverrians up a goal to the delight of the Marshalliston crowd. Lessard also scored with 4:56 left in the opening period after getting hammered by the 6"8 frame of Yuri Blinov. The hit left Lessard out of the play but a near icing of the puck went right to Lessard, who was struggling to regain his balance. A hard slapshot just over the shoulder of Trelov put the Oliverrians up by 2 sending the nation into ecstacy. This was a near-reminder of Game 1's antics.
Period 2: Hockey Canada got back into the game in the early second when Slava Shadrin used his amazing speed on a powerplay. A drive to the net to fend off Chris Lavoie ended up in a collision with Bouchard. The goalie down and out left the puck to slide in with the momentum of the drive to the net. Screaming for a penalty, Bedistani Ryan Forson denied any call. Trudeau got the run with the goalie back at the 11 minute mark of the 2nd when he scored from the point on a hard slap shot on the powerplay. Serge Thibault of all people played his first shift of the series on a 2-man advantage when a Trudeau slap shot bounced off his elbow and trickled past Tresov's glove. Oliverry was up 4-1 heading into the 3rd.
Period 3: The momentum suddenly came to a halt in the third period when Yuri Liapkin gave a vicious slash to the ankle of Lessard when he picked up the puck at the Hockey Canadian blueline. Lessard went down very quickly as Liapkin was enjected with no argument or hesitation. Liapkin's objective was complete and he would serve his time suspended until Game 6. Shadrin picked up from this with a breakaway goal at the mid-point of the period beating Dubois five-hole sending a loud cheer from the Hockey Canadian bench. Lutchenko then made what seemed like a miracle after hammering Maxime Aubry into the boards. The puck drizzled out of a scrum in the Hockey canadian end and the 6"5, 275 pound beast slowly skated on a breakaway towards Dubois. A drag of the puck to draw a poke check and a high shot under the bear sent the Canucks one goal back with 56.8 seconds left. Shadrin closed any doubts when right off the faceoff he picked up the puck. Jean Normand tripped skating backwards as Shadrin stepped around him and fired a wrist shot low and hard fooling Dubois and following a chorus of boos from the home fans and the odd hat. The game ended 4-4 with a little scrum at the end.
Final Score:
Oliverry: 4
