The Expulsion of Religions

OOC: NOTE TO READERS!!!
THIS THREAD DOES NOT IN ANY WAY REFLECT MY FEELINGS TOWARDS OTHER RELIGIONS **Yes even Satanism (Coming from a Catholic)** THIS THREAD IS ENTIRLY FICTIONAL.
ALSO THIS IS PURE POLICTICAL, NO INTERNATIONAL WAR THING HERE. (That belongs on the II forums).

The Expulsion of Religions

The Government had had a turbulent time recently in Stevid. What was once a dictatorship was now a newly formed democracy, slowly trying to remember the ways it used to do things. It had been many long years, since the founding of Stevid itself since there had been democracy, now that it had arrived few understood. The saw the Prime Minister as not an elected person but still as a Dictator has he once was. People still were beginning to realise that they could speak up against the government or for it, a liberty they once never knew.

However, the brainwashing had remained, and religion was still the main driving force in the Stevidian communities. Since Stevid's founding there had been terrorism committed and prevented, racial hatred barely suppressed, but religious intolerance, and more over, religious discrimination was a major source of lack of civil rights.

85% percent of Stevid is Christian- within the Christian religion 82% are Catholic.
5% of Stevid is Muslim, of which recently gang warfare has played a major influence with religious hatred directed between Muslim and Catholic communities.
8% of the Stevid Population is Satanist-- responsible for the now surpressed Terrorist Organisation "Red Cell" operations.
The other 2% is Orthodox and some other religions such as Hinduism, Hertics and atheists.

The government of Stevid is fully aware that many of the religions that aren't Catholic have been responsible for many violent crimes thoughout Stevid. That isn't to say that Catholics do not commit crimes on a large scale, but the ratio in Stevid documents shows that the other religions that do not support Jews in Christ and God attack those how do. The government and the Church see this as an attack on Christianity due to the obscurity of the other religions in Stevid.

The governing body of Stevid has decided that encouraging the other religions acts as a double edged sword, bringing in more Muslims could increase the possibility of Islamic related terrorist attacks; an increase in Satanism could possibly mean the return of "Red Cell".
It has been agreed by the government that the problem is that other religions are the problem, getting rid of certain religions destroys the problem. So it has been agreed that the abolishment of certain religions has to be carried and the members of those religions must be deported.

The Government has expressed it's sadness of the situation, given that Democracy has returned, this move seems crazy but the problem is in dire straights.. the sudden change in political governments meant that radical religious groups attack Christian provinces in Stevid. To prevent a Religious Civil War breaking out the government is making this move.

This is the Statement the Government Published today to the general Public....

This is a Public Broadcast From The Government of Stevid

Today it is the sad duty of Stevid to enforce the religions of Stevid that will not be listed shortly to leave the country. If it is seen that people are to resist the removal of these religions then deportation will be carried out by force. The situation is dire and a religious Civil War is not what this country needs.

Here is the list of Religions that are not going to be forced deported:-

ORTHODOX
ALL FORMS OF CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS
JEWISH RELIGION

It will be noted that live ammunition during violent encounters will not be used unless rioting breaks out.
We hope that this will proceed with minimal confrontation.

The Deportation begins now, officers will allow time for those to pack essentials. If you have any queries regarding your religion and whether is does or does not fall under the categories then call this number:-

0800 555 2548

If you access to the internet go to this address:-

www.gov.co.svd/religiondeport

OOC: This is an open rp and you can bet your life there'll be riots by religious group across the state. So if anyone wants to rp religious groups rioting or protesting or co-operating with officers.

Hope people join!

Although the Necrontyr Empire is officially secular, we do not condone this policy in any way. We consider the choice to deport non-Christian religious groups to be most unwise, and caution the Stevid government that we do not consider this likely to solve their problems.

We are of course, regardless of our opinions prepared to offer our territories as a destination temporary or permanent for those deported by the Stevid government on the basis of religion. We feel convinced of our ability to quickly provide employment opportunities to religious deportees choosing (or forced) to resettle under C’tani jurisdiction.

We suspect that of the religions listed, given the culture of the Necrontyr Empire, settlement would be easiest for Hindus, as well as ‘Heretics’ and Atheists, if the Stevid government is deporting them too at this time – the definitions of religions in some nations used tend towards confusing. Similarly, we are uncertain of quite what constitutes a ‘Satanist’ in Stevid, but are prepared to accept deportees of this faith.

Additionally, we are informed that our counterparts in the Eternal Noldorin Empire of Menelmacar are similarly prepared to take in some number of deportees, subject, given the concerns over terrorism issued by the Stevid government, to security vetting (which we may or may not duplicate).

BATTLE OF POLAND STREET MOSQUE

Poland Street Way- Stevid

Police vans were swarming al over the place, left and right officer in uniform, all armed in the event of nasty surprises. However, there wasn't much apprehension in the air in this neighbourhood. Over the many years, this neighbour had had reasonably low crime rate that was religiously motivated, with or without the attention of the local government.

The area was highly Islamic, but it was quite and rather peaceful. With three police helicopters orbiting the area there was no real way to run, any who had run away had done so earlier to the local Mosque, which was currently under siege.

There was at least two hundred and eighteen people in there and had barricaded themselves in as there way to resist arrest.
Captain Tyler of the Northway Province Police Force was in charge of the forced removable of this particular area of Islam. He had not been expecting such a peaceful turn out from the residence but there were a few unaccounted men and women. He brushed this though aside as one of those feeling that didn't matter much. The missing people had probably moved out before the police had moved in.

Right however he was standing out the Mosque, so there had been minimal violence, the odd rock thrown here and there from the Mosque, but apart from that there had been no trouble. Despite intense negotiations the civilians inside had given in.

"We can't stand here all bloody day!" He yelled. "Kick the bloody door down and make sure up cuff them all and shove in the vans! Okay!"

Eight officers ran straight for the Mosque with their shields in the air protecting them from the Islam supporters on the roof throwing rocks. The officers threw themselves at the door of the Mosque and as expected, didn’t budge at the full force of eight full-grown men. They could hear loud praying going on inside the Mosque, hoping to drown out the noise of the policemen outside. The officers threw themselves at the door again, discarding their shields as they did so, the door moved less than half a centimetre at the mass body weight. The people inside had jammed it with something incredibly strong.

Inside, the prayers were continuous and loud, praising Allah for the good times and the bad, praying for hope in the face of the Stevid Government that they’ll be aloud to stay.
They were completely safe, the widows had already been barred with Iron due to violence many years ago, the main door bolted, locked and jammed with three huge Iron bars. One would think that had seen this happening. There were two men who weren’t paying any attention to the prayers, they were however, couching behind a turned over table and pointing two stolen guns. One was a handgun, a 54mm pistol, the other man held and AKS-75u; both men and their guns were facing the shuddering door of the Mosque.

I bright light was shining through one of the windows before disappearing, the helicopter hovering above giving live updates to the police and the press. As the police helicopter passed over the roof of the building, two more men appeared on the roof with large bags. The officers in the helicopter could only guess what was inside but they had inkling and were cautious before getting one of the crew to grab a riffle.

“Okay, Bill grab the riffle and open the doors, I’ll hold her steady. Remember, don’t fire because that thing fires live ammunition and we have orders not to use live ammo unless fired upon by live ammunition. Warning shots are permitted”

“Yes sir, shall I do that now?”
“Negative, we don’t know what’s in those bag, but until we do you are not to fire. Understood?”
“Very clear sir.”

The officers at the door had retreated, the door hadn’t moved and what’s more the rocks had started getting larger and had started to hurt there was no way any mortal man get that door open.
“It’s no good sir,” said one of the officers to Captain Tyler “the door won’t shift, they don’t listen to the negotiator or to us.”

“Yes, it seems that they are becoming more difficult, those rocks are more boulders, look at the size of them. I’ll bring in the Calvary.”

He clicked his radio and fiddled with one of the tuners on the top

“Yeah it’s me, look we need you round about now if you please. I can’t stand here bloody night waiting for those lunatics to sit in there starving to death…… yes….. yeah smash the bugger in….. if there are any people behind it then they should have chosen a better spot plus it’ll give the immigration department three less people to deal with. Get moving.”

“Are they on their way?”
“Yes…… Charlie One can you hear me up there?”

The pilot, in the overhead helicopter, jumped slightly in surprise that he was being spoken to. He adjusted his postion and responded swiftly.

“Sir, I’m here sir”

“Look to your right old boy, you should see a vehicle making it way here down the road with some speed… you see it?”
“Hold on a min….. yeah…. I see it. Armed response unit in an APC SWAT car. Approaching at around 40 MPH… over.”
“Good, thank you.”

He tweaked his radio again and stormed off over to the megaphone in his Area Car and start yelling at nearby officers to get out of the way.

“ Move Your BLOODY ARSES!!! Arm yourselves with two magazines, blue is to but put in first with plastic bullets. Red is live ammunition, if you hear firing coming from inside the Mosque then reload immediately with that ammunition. Okay, get ready to storm the building….. Charlie One, I know you can hear me, when the APC reaches fifty yards from the Mosque lay down some suppressing fire on those boys on the roof.”

A mere twelve seconds later the APC flew straight past him and at once officers followed behind it. Above them rifle shots could be heard coming from the helicopter, no more rocks were falling.
The APC bounced over the curb and hit the doors of the Mosque.

Inside everyone jumped, even the two defenders, and started to scream and run about the Mosque leaving the religious leader the impossible task of calming the crowd, even Allah couldn’t calm them. When the dust a cleared slightly there were loud full- automatic assault round fly all over the place. The man holding the AK had not hesitated to fire is gun, he had three magazines and was more than willing to use the all. The man next to him attempted to cut down the officers streaming through the doors. Three officers fell with another five more injured, collapsing to the ground.
By now, the officers had changed their magazines had started fire live ammo from handguns and SMGs. The two defenders were swiftly eliminated. Meanwhile on the roof, the two bags had two AK’s and one RPG. It had been a short fight, the rifleman only fire three shot before the men returned fire with the AK’s. Before they could bring the RPG to bear on the helicopter they shot with pinpoint accuracy. All six people on the roof, including the two men who had just arrived, were killed in less than eleven seconds.

Tyler had a smile on his face as he observed the Muslims being arrested, searched and escorted to the prison vans outside.

“I’m a bit pissed off, a total four men dead is not good. That’s not what we need. But all in all one hundred eighty six men, woman and children, not a bad haul. That’s almost the whole neighbour hood. Lieutenant King, have the helicopter switch to thermal imaging and have them sweep the area to look for stragglers.
Also, gather all units and get them to head off to the next area, we’ve got lots of work to do.”

Offcial Response of Stevid To The C'tan

We under stand your concerns regarding the deportation of these religions, however the Stevid government has stated that they aren't going to change their minds on the matter.

However, the government does thank the government of The C'tan for excepting the deportees of Stevid and hopes that they have a better life there than they would ever have here under that perticular religion.

Prime Minister Steven Koolridge sat in his office, reading the news. He couldn't belive what he was hearing, thousands forced to leave their homes b/c of their own belifes. Kanami has always been a very tolerant nation to any religion. After all it's founders were once in the shoes of many persecuited. He picked up his phone and dialed.

"This is Koolridge. I'm calling for an emergency meeting with my entire cabinate. Yes that includeds the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Get them all here immediatley!"

Some hours later the whole cabinite arrived. Some were quite curious, as to what was happening.

Steven turned in his chair and greeted everyone.

"Good afternoon. I've been watching some disturbing news, over the past several hours. The Royal Navy of Stevid, is currently in a state of chrisis. They are forcing many from their homes b/c of their religious belifes. But that is excluding thoes who are Christian and Jewish. Gentalmen this is not acceptable. With our takings of an agressive pact in world affairs, I'd say it's about time we get active."

The Minister of Foreign affaris: Sir, with all due respect, shoudln't we respect the nations soverignty?"

Steven: "Mr. Rodchester, this is a violation of human rights. The early nation have always wanted freedom from tyranical governments. It's time we help others. Minister of Defense, what do you say?"

Minister: "Sir, I think before we start dropping bombs with our almighty air force, let's try diplomacy. We start a dialoug with the nation, to stop this. If they refuse, we give them an ultimatium."

Minister of Domestic Affairs, Anna Burton: I agree. It's likely we'll be seeing an influx of asylum seekers.

Steven: Okay. Make sure that any refugees that come to our borders are taken into custody, and screened. You may reject thoese you find questionable, but do not rush. Kanami has an open asylum policey. We don't want to turn away good people. General, prepare for possible air raids, bombing missions and even invasions. I will adress the world and the United Nations, on this matter.

Everyone left the office to get to work. Koolridge along with his advisor prepared for the urgent press confrense.

Steven: My fellow Kanamians, there is currently great turmoil going on in the Navle Colony of Stevid. Several people are forcefully being removed from their homes, b/c of the practice of their religion. Including the practice of Islam. Many of you here, have the right to freely belive in Islam. However it's apparent that thoes in Stevid, do not. I'm urging the Parliment of Stevid to adress the Parliment of Kanami. We want to discuss this. If not drastic consequences will result. I also urge the United Nations, to aid in this matter. Kanami will not stand for the persecution of the people who practice Islam, or any religion. Thank you."

OFFICAIL RESPONSE TO KANAMI

The government of Stevid understands the concerns of your nation, however the government will not be detered from its course of action. Few cilivains have been killed and this has been due to cross fire in the streets.

Any men, women or children killed delibrately is regretable however they will have been killed for resisting arrest by attacking law enforcement officers.

We thank the government in question for allowing the deported into their country, we do not want a war on our hands, be it international or Civil, (OOC: I am willing to have one but it's got to be done properly, a decent build up and has to be on the II forum, not on this thread.) we will co-operate with other countries to help with the removal of certain citizens.

Thank you

TO STEVID:

Steven Koolridge: "Esteemed Minister Conroy. We understand that your nation has had concernes with civil problems. But we still think it morally wrong to punish all, instead of the few. Terrorism is not something we approve of either. But we think it wrong, to deport thoes of a religion, from which a few raddicals base off. If we are not mistaking every religion has had it's radicalisim, even violent movments, using the freedom of religion to rationalize, and continue their activites. Although our Powerful Air Force, and Armies are lying in wait, we still are not looking for a fight. We want to continue out negotiations. I have consolted with my cabinate. We have drafted up a list. In the simplest terms, and most direct answers. First of all we would like for you to stop the deportation. The good working men and women, do not deserve to be exiled, by the actions of a few. Second, Kanami would like to set up a piece keeping force, in your nation. Including Special Anti-Terrorist Units. Thirdly: We will help in future Terroist preventions. With out having to result to extracting thoes who are just practicing Islam, b/c they belive. Punish the Few, spare the rest. We understand also, that civil turmoli is brewing. If you allow Kanamian Troops into the nation, we will help keep and enforce the piece. However if you shun Kanami, we will take action to restore order under international law. You will also be brought before a Tribunal, to face trial for crimes against Humantie, and peace. Kanami want's to help. Not fight. But should we have to, we will fight, and bring thoes who are responsible for chaose to justice. Thank you."

Steven walks off, his photographers snap countless photos, reporters shout questions. His foreign affairs minister reviewd the ever troubling status of the people fleeing from Stevid.

Minister: "Kanami's Refugee rate is up 68% and many more boat loads arrive. There are at least a hundred people wating Asylum Hearings."

Steven: "Rember I don't want to turn away people who are in search of freedom, or safty. You treat them well like I told you, you check their backgrounds, and when all is confirmed, you give them an asylum visa. What else do you have?"

"Reports of thousands being shot in the streets. Many in the asylum holding center have said that soldiers shot anyone who wouldn't cooperate."

Steven: "Look it sounds real tempting to belive, but the last thing I want is faux propaganda. Before I send a squad of B-17 KANAMI Bombers to tear appart the capital I would like to continue our dialouge with Stevid. See if they will go along with our requests."

"Aqua Anu has stated they will lend navel forces if needed."

Steven: "Tell the good Queen we appreciate it, and w'll let her know if we need carriers, gun ships, or subs. In the meantime I need to prepare for my nation adress."

Some time later Steven adress the nation

"I know there are some of you who say 'we shouldn't get involved' and I know there are others of you who say 'we should.' Don't forget that many of your ancestors who founded this great nation, were people like the ones from Stevid. Persecuted, forced away by a government who didn't want them. Others who didn't like how their government ran things. And I know many of you have relatives, freinds, familey that are in Stevid. Many of our active Islamic populations, feel deep sympathy for the ones in Stevid. We are doing what we can to remedy this situation. We hope we will not have to go to combat, but if it is needed, we will. Good night, and may God, Allah, Jehova, what ever and who ever you call him, bless.

"The Commonality expresses both it's dismay at the decision taken by the Stevid Government in deporting those who do not conform to the societal 'norm' desired by that government, and at the consequences of that action; and, more importantly, our deepest heartfelt sympathies to those affected by this tragic turn of events.

"The Commonality observes it's willingness to provide humanitarian support to Stevid, should they so express a desire to be the recipient of said, and further, sadly acknowledges the sovereign right of Stevid to undertake this action - even though we request that Stevid enter into multilateral talks with willing, neutral parties (including ourselves), with a view to finding a less dramatic and drastic solution to their society's difficulties.

"The Commonality is also more than willing to provide mediation services to resolve any international disputes/conflicts arising because of this situation. And, of course, in line with long-standing policy, we are prepared to accept a limited, manageable number of refugees on a temporary and/or permanent basis if required.

A Threat To Sovereignty

The PM David Conroy sat at his desk reading the reports of the deportation. He was cool headed, so after there had been few incidents with minor rebellious groups claiming that they should stay, they had been arrested with swift ease and to Conroy’s amazement the casualty list was drastically smaller than anticipated. At this moment in time it had been estimated that around one hundred and twelve civilians would have been killed, seventy-eight rebel religious group members and eighty-eight officers. All those figures were wrong, in fact and eighth of each of the figures was the real result, and it was because of this that many people were beginning to leave quietly. Many countries both near and far from Stevid had heard and seen the events unfolding and had started accepting and receiving the refugees. But one country in particular had caught the attention of the MoD, the House of Commons, and the Chief Defence Staff. A certain nation that was not only accepting the refugees but also threatening Stevid policy and Sovereignty. Threats that sounded like the sort of thing you’d find coming from an aggressor’s mouth.

Kanami had threaten Stevid with line in their last message that had un-nerved the MoD Defence Staff. They had immediately gathered together to discuss the situation regarding that nation. Threatening Stevid was never taken lightly and was also treated so seriously that the staff sometimes thought they were at war.
The message implied military action against Stevid. The Defence Staff had laughed out loud and started to cry with laughter. But it didn’t take them long to realise that the nation in question would have an awful lot of support. Stevid couldn’t afford fighting an international war and a possible civil on at the same time. Stevid could win, more easily than one would like to expect, however it was in the MoD’s interests to get into more than two wars.

All of these issues were going through Conroy’s head, not once did he worry at the possibility of attack, Stevid could repel an invasion given the time (and more importantly, money) and was more than capable of but up a fight, but Conroy had always followed a peaceful pursuit in international affairs and usually kept a low profile on the international side of the world. But this was different, Stevid can be allowed to do as she pleases with some rag-tag foreign leader saying what he can and cannot do and then have the nerve to threaten one of the oldest and powerful nations on the face of the earth. Stevid had been involved in many bloody conflicts, wars that had given Stevid a good reputation and in some cases a bad one. But in this instance it was a home affair, and the Home Office of Stevid, not the Home Office of a foreign nation, conducts home affairs.

There was a knock at the door, and in came the honoured First Sea of the Royal Navy, Admiral Sir Alan West.
Conroy looked up, put down the papers and smiled at his old friend.

“Hello Alan! Haven’t seen you in ages!”
“Hello sir, I’ve been in Hogsweat for awhile, that Super Dreadnought thing.”
“Ah yes, I trust they treated you well.”
“Too well I must sir, lovely people sir. Their country so much like ours, it’s the same age, same style of government and our military hierarchies are almost inventible.”
“Well done any way. Now I called you here for a reason Alan. Please sit down…. Now I’m sure your aware of the deportation and it’s progress, it’s been going well. A few snags here and there but otherwise going well. But about the snags, there is one hell of a God awful massive one regarding this nation I’ve never even heard of.”
“Kanami sir. Yes they have threatened us. Not necessarily directly but they have definitely implied it.”
“Well I’ve have had a chat with the rest of the Defence Staff and their… well… not worried but more cautious than usual when confronted by other nations. Most of the time we either have got lots of Intel on a target nation or our allies supply it to us. This time is different. We have very little to go on.”

Conroy relaxed a little and sighed.

“MI6?”
“They’re working with MI5 to get as much information as possible on this new threat. In the mean time I advise you to follow the aims of the defence staff.”
“You mean put military forces, both conventional and strategic on DEFCON 4? It’s a bit drastic; there is much of a threat to us. The regional Anti-Ballistic Missile Defence Grid works well, our T-45’s are in excellent shape and the SDNs and land based Patriots are good enough to repel an opposing nation anyway? They have done in the past. That’s why we were attacked by Feline Catfish all that time ago.”
“Yes sir but this is a new enemy, we have power, we have experience, we have technology and we have skill, but hey have something vital… the unknown.”
“I know better than anyone that it is the unknown that worries us the most… put DEFCON 4 on for all forces to be on the safe side.”
“Very good sir.”
“Right then back to business,” He shuffled in his chair before getting comfatable again and continuing. “The deportation is going fairly well so I’m told. There have been few incidents and few deaths on the streets or anywhere else because of the deportation. To be honest with you, the international community has made it easier for us by coming forward and taking refugees off our hands and taking them into their country.”
“Well it was a good idea of yours sir.”
“My idea? …Oh yes of course my idea… well it wasn’t all mine, bit of help… ya know.”
“Either way it’s working out fine. The next part, according to the planning stage, is the Religious leader thing isn’t it?”
“Well, I was hoping it wouldn’t come so soon. It is a bit dictatorial isn’t it? Shouldn’t we let MI5 handle this?”
“Yes, but if they’re caught at the gates out of Stevid, from now on…”
“I know, arrest them and then… well… dispose of them. Okay, but that was the plan from now on. We did warn the religious leaders about this through letters, the phone, E-mail, and so on after the broadcast a few days ago.”
“They have no excuse. If they’re caught, which they will be, the execution will be dealt with quickly.”
“Okay, get on with. Thank you Admiral.” The Admiral quickly walked and closed the door, leaving the PM with his head in his hands. He picked up the phone and pressed three buttons.
“Look lads, this can’t go on any longer, the people won’t accept this as a move to be taken. They’re going to want an explanation……….. That’ll be difficult, in fact it’s more likely that they’ll hate it and have me kicked out of office. I’ll be out of your hands… I… we’ll see, but if your ploy doesn’t work then you know what will happen and you’ll know what I’ll say. You’ve remained hidden for too long.

Good bye.” Conroy mopped the sweat from his view and pick up the papers he was reading before the Admiral arrived.

OOC: Yes it is turning out rather well but a note to you my dear friend Kanami. I'd rather not you attempt to blow me up over this. Well unless I do something that threatens you, cuz sadly i'd have to ignore that sort of attack and i hate ignoring stuff. So just keep your head and we'll see what happens. Okay? Cool! ;)

Hmm an opertunity I feel to boost the population of our ncolonies, and increase the diversity of the Mon-Keigh amongest our population. Iyanna smiled slightly as she read the report, beside her Darvins nodded. Diversity amongest the Mon-Keigh is good, since they seem to often form voting blocks, increasing the tensions amongest the population should help keep them divided and focused upon each other rather than on us. I am especially interested in these 'Satanists' although I'd need confirmation from Xeno-Religious Studies of my suspicions.

The request was dispatched and a reply quickly sent back.

Report on 'Satanism'

An unusual enough religious concept as presented by the minor evidence avaible. It appears in this concept to be worshipping, the force which in the main stream religious Grouping kown as 'Christianity', blamed as the source of Evil.

While people worshipping 'Evil' Deities is not uncommon see worshippers of the Cults of Chaos, usually such people are duped into the religion under the belief they are being saved. Yet as far as we can tell none of these people believe this. However unlike the aforementioned Chaos Cults we have also seen no evidence of actual Demonic possesion or influance and it appears they would be no more or less a threat than any other Demanted Mon-Keigh.

End Report

'Yes that would do nicely, inviting in this group should help off-set the Christian Mon-Keigh Communities focusing them upon the Satanists. Still I would advise given the obvious Security risk even from Mundane Mon-Keigh Sources, Keeping a close eye upon this sub-group. Well closer than usual' Such a matter of fact way to discuss the lives of a displaced people was not unusual amongest the Council.

'Indeed Still I think we can do one better, after all this is a PR excercise and it might be useful to be seen to be going one step further than simply providing a place of refuge...'

Final Offer transmitted to the Steviud government

We wish to join with thos nations who while being disapointed by the actions you have taken recognise your right to take them. As such we offer to house any and all refugees who seek to start new lives within our Colonial Possesions. Further we understand that the displacement of these people will leave them devoid of their former residences. We offer to 'Buy' the houses of any refugees that choose to start anew in our colonies, so that they have the capital needed to start a new life. Afterwards any houses owned by our government shall be made avaible to various charitable institutions based in your nation as a gift from the Farseer Council to your people.

Message to ALL nations:

Should ANY nation threaten the soverignety of Stevid with actual force, we WILL back them with our own militaristic force, pending his acception. This is a warning to those who would be unwise enough to do so.

Advisor of Defense-Grande Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto III-

We thank our regional ally for their support in this trouble spot of national/international affairs. We should also like to point out that our national waters are boundaries that are heavly defended and if Kanami ships are seen in international waters then all Stevid forces shall be put on DEFCON 2.

To the Government of Tor Yvresse

We understand your concerns but we thank you for accepting some of the refugees from us.

To Kanami

The Stevid government does not take threats lightly, nor does it appreicate you offering a peace keeping force into our borders. That would be seen as a violation and an insult to our armed forces. Let it be known that Stevid has yet to call upon the army to remove people from Stevid. All the work has been done by the Police. It will remain that way unless things get out of hand.

We regret to inform you that now you have proven yourself be a hostile nation towards us, that The Royal Navy has dispatched six ships to international waters that border yours. Better safe than sorry. They are not a blockade force and nor will they attack you in anyway at all unless provoked to do so.

The ships in Task Force 0.2548 are the following.

3 Type-45 Anti air- defence destroyers
2 Type- 88 multi-role cruisers (New Design Specs have not been released)
1 Catholic Super Dreadnought

It pains me to threaten you with the massive fire power of the 5th biggest Super Dreadnought in the World but your threats will not be taken lightly.

Do not threaten us..... and we will not threaten you.

Signed by
David M. Conroy
MoD Defence Staff
Admiral Sir Alan West

OOC: Kanami... if you want to know more on the super dreadnought or any of the ships in the task force..... check my signature. Everything you need is there.

Just so you know what you MIGHT be up against. ;)

"We would like to observe, with all due respect to the Stevid Government, that we are still awaiting a response to our opening missive."

The government of Stevid is willing to look into other options on how to remove those we are deporting. We could rather deport them than put them in camps, we're not facists.
If you can come up with a better way of doing it then we are willing to hear it.

Untill a final decision is made then the deportation wil continue.

"The Commonality proposes that all interested parties assemble for talks aimed at providing recommendations intended to lead towards a solid compromise and careful effort to manage the current ongoing situation; with a view to this, the Executive Council is willing to suggest a format for said proposed talks: we could provide professional mediation experts and sociological analysts to a multinational think tank tasked with ensuring that either the chosen route can be fulfilled with maximum efficiency and minimum discomfort, or, should Stevid so choose, a different path altogether as suggested or not suggested by the think tank.

"In the interst of neutrality, we would be willing to provide a secure, safe location for the discussions.

Bellmore Way

It was getting late and Maxim was still preaching on the top floor of his house. There were forty people in the same room; never had he managed to fit in so many of his fellow Heretics into one room.
He had been preaching against God for the past thirty minutes, saying how the government and the whole Christian population was consumed with envy, jealous at the fact the Christianity was bringing Stevid closer and closer to a civil war. If they just kept hiding from the law and kept fighting the police force than the government would realise their move was a stupid one.
He got up from the floor and blest in his own way.

Outside was a black van; it had been outside monitoring all movement in, out and around the house. They had seen every single person who had entered the house and had seen a bold man close the curtains of the house. Now the curtains had been opened and the bold man had appeared again. One of the occupants of the van got out his binoculars and looked at the man. As the man opened the curtains he turned his head to talk with someone. He stopped for a minute and looked up and down the street from his window before retreating and closing the curtains again.

“I think we’ve got enough information to go ahead.”
“Yeah, everything fits into place, just as the briefing said.”
“Cool…. Right then, I’ll call Command………… Yeah this Grey Knights eighteen and twelve. We’re in position and so are the SAS. Permission to start assault… received and understood Command. Out.”
“Well?”
“We go! … Unit A, this is Grey Knight Twelve here, are you on your way?”

“Aye sir, we’re in the helicopter and are inbound now. We’ll cover the front.”

“Good. Unit B?”
“Sir, we’re at the back of the house covering the rear, we’ll ambush them as they escape. Then will make the arrests.”
“Okay then. Unit C?”
“We’ve split in two. Unit C-1 and C-2. Both are at both side of the house and will break in first.”

“Roger that everyone. Listen up. Civilian casualties are unacceptable unless you see a cause. You’re the SAS and I know you don’t make those sorts of mistakes, but better safe than sorry.
Remember, the bold guy we showed you in the briefing is a priority target. Eliminate him as soon as possible. The operation commences… NOW!”

Inside Maxim was talking to one of the follows he had been preaching to when he heard a deep thudding overhead, the sound of rotor blades in the distance closing fast.
He dashed over to the window. The thudding was now terribly loud, even deafening. He wrenched the curtains apart. He saw the chopper hovering outside his window, he saw it for a second or two before a man smashed through the window and landed on top of him.

It was havoc downstairs; the sound of gunfire filled the hallway downstairs as three “civilians” dived into a room, all of them wielding pistols. The sharp snaps of plastic bullets soon stopped and were soon replaced by a sound of magazine replacement as three SAS members loaded live ammunition. There were two bangs of a grenade, flash bang grenades before the three men kicked the door in and went in guns blazing.

Outside in the back garden Unit B ambushed the retreating Heretics. They were showered by a torrent of plastic bullets, bruising the skin of those hit and forcing the others to hit the ground with their hands on their head. They were swiftly arrested.

Maxim pushed the man who landed on him off him and perform a form of Close Quarter Combat on the soldier. The SAS member returned the attack and countered Maxim’s feeble attempt of attacking an SAS soldier. Maxim turned and fled for the door.”

“Oi! Hit the floor you filthy Heretic Bastard!!!
Maxim did nothing he ran for all his life was worth. But as he did so he swiftly removed a pistol from his holster underneath his robes. He didn’t look round he just pointed the gun behind him and fired twice as he ran.
The first missed everything but the wall; the second bullet struck something metal and ricocheted off into the last SAS soldier through the window. He fell to the floor clutching his shoulder.

The soldier who called out Maxim, raised is SMG quicker than light and put ten shots in Maxim. Six in the back, three in up the neck and one in the head.
Outside, the vans had arrived to collect the arrested members. Grey Knights Twelve and eighteen had watched the whole thing unfold before their eyes. They both smiled with glee.

“Hello, this is Grey Knight twelve. You can tell command that the operation is a success… yes, the committee will be extremely please… yes, Maxim is dead… the committee will pleased with that. Maxim was the only civilian who knows of their existence. Now he’s out of the way they won’t be worried. Conroy is the only threat to them now… yes integration of the arrested member will begin straight away, those aware of the committee’s existence will be killed.
At least we’ve taken out those who are a threat to the nation and us. Good luck with Conroy.

Goodbye sir.”

Before Stevid makes a final choice on whether to proceed with this or not, we will wait to see what Kanami says about your idea. We do not intend to fight them but we are considering it and we'll consider it even more if they don't agree to your idea. If they don't agree, then Stevid will assume that they aren't interested in making peace.

We shall see.

Kanami Security Decree #: 3.8

Regarding the Situation in Stevid:

Stevid is on the course of a full military build up. Regarding Kanami as a threat to their national security. With countless rejections of any peacefull proposals, and not taking the threats of being tribunaled, seriously, Stevid has refused to aknowledge Kanami's pleas. It is herby decreated that the Prime Minister of Stevid, be regarded as a threat to Kanami's National Security.

Signed and Dated:

Steven J. Koolridge-Prime Minister

Molly A. Anderson-Minister of Homeland Security

Roger C. Smith-Minister of Defense

Berry K. Herrington-Minister of Foreign Affairs

(OCC: Do note this isn't a decleration of war. Just a threat assesment document)

Steven put down his pen. The photographers were flashing off everywhere.

"If you will now excuse me my staff and I have a meeting with the Queen of Aqua Anu."

A jet helicpoter landed smoothly on the landing pad. A tall lovely woman and her secreat service detail, along with the under comander in cheif of the Navy
(As the queen is the full comander in chief) The Navy Captian Saluted the Prime Minister.

"General R. Lee Ermy Sir."

Steven: "Pleased to meet you! Queen Mikanu, good of you to come."

She respectfully bows. "Glad to be here Prime Minister."

Steven: "Your daughter couldn't come?"

Queen: "She sends her apologies she's over seeing storm assesments on the south island."

Steven: As you well know by now the situation in Stevid is growing more tense. Stevid has rejected our offers of sending in Peace Keeping Troops, and anti-terrorist units. And besides that, all Islamic belivers in the area are forcefully being deported."

Queen Mikaun: Indeed. We've recived an influx of refuguees.

R. Lee: These people, some are in worst off shape. Some have no home, no food, no education, no future.

Steven: Percisely my point. Now the way I see it is, we can either help, or we can sit back and watch a country destroy its self on NGNN (Nation States Global News Network get it? ;) )

Mikanu: I agree. Kurona does too. They are more than willing to give ground troops to either of us, if we need it.

R. Lee: The way I see it is you have to choices: One declare war now, or two give an ultimatum. One last chance to cooperate with you, with conditional terms of agreement. If war is declared, then you can force them to surrender UN conditionally.

Steven: I have thought about it long and hard. And I've decided to give them one last chance. Give the Prime Minister one last chance to come to the Parliment of Kanami, and negotioate this matter.

R. Lee: You know when I first herad your speach, when this whole fiasco began, I didn't know why you were so keen. Keen enough to cross the barriers of Soverignty vs. World Unity. I did some research into the founding of your nation, and now I know why. It's stated in your national motto.

Steven: That is exactly it. And that is the exact point I'm going to make.

Mikanu: If this does go to War, you know we will be willing to help any way we can. You have our freindship.

Steven: Thank you Queen. Mr. Herrington.

Berry: Yes sir?

Steven: Contact the Princess of Kurona. Tell her we also will accept any aid from her fine nation. Tell her a good economic boom is instore.
It's time.

Steven Stepped up to the podium. He was nervouse. After all this will mean the diffrence between War and Piece. He knew the U.N. Was watching, the pacific was watching, and most of all Stevid was too.

Steven: People of the world, The Republic of Kanami has been monotering the events in the Royal Colony of Stevid. The Recent governmental decree to expell all thoes who practice Islam, has been noted with great concerne.
I know many nations are founded upon Islam. Some Governments are based entirely on Islam, and practice Islam actively. The Royal Colony of Stevid does not belive in such principals. Nor does it belive in the principals of Democracy. Democracy is defined as: A principal in which all the people have their say the Government, and the people are all united under this common principal. And that they may have the assurance that the Government can't and will do nothing to take that away. The newly formed Democratic Government in Stevid has not lived up to this common principal. Thousands were forced out of their homes, only on the basis of their religion. Which also happens to be practiced, and used as scape goat, by a group of terroists. Judging the mass, on the actions of a few, is not Acceptable! Kanami's national motto is Unity, Justice, Peace, Freedom, for all people. And when thoes words were not uttered, but shouted out by our founding mother, in the fight for Kanami's independence, she didn't mean JUST Kanamians. No she meant ALL People. ALL people in the world. Even from the corupted Government, of which she and many others fled from.

With the forcefull deportation in place, many refugees have been crossing the stormy seas. In search for a better life, and freedom, to worship the way they choose, not the way the Government choses. We our selves have opend our arms, to an influx of Refugees. As well as our freinds and Allies. Aqua Anu, and Kurona, and many more. Aqua Anu has sent out it's navel ships to help pick the refugees up, and guied them back to Land, for Asylum. Kurona has welcomed many, into it's nation. And spread many through Xanadou. Many other regions have been taking in refugees as well. The Atlantic, The Pacific, 10000 Islands, Xanadou, and many more.

Kanami has offered peacefull solutions and aid to the Stevid. Such as peace keeping troops, and anti-terroist units. But Stevid has rejected all of our offers. And has regarded Kanami as a hostile nation, preparing a military build up. We have tried to negotiate but have been shuned, and refused.
Therefore we are issuing this final chance. In order to spread the Furthurment of Democracy Prime Minister David Conroy, this is your last chance. Accept and continue to negotiate with Kanami's parlement, or face the consequences. We will be wating for your answer.

Steven walked away from the podium. Many didn't know what to do other than whisper excitedly. Steven knew what he was doing was right.

Secret IC:

There was an old office block in Stevid Capita that touched the sky. Disused but the government had kept it for storage of some things, more environmentally friendly that way.
As one would enter the building it looked dilapidated, old, falling apart, a place where the gangs and the drug addicts would hang around. Any normal ordinary person would think that. And if one were to push the button for the elevator and step inside it, then one wouldn’t really like to step inside. The sense would be that the thing could spell your doom. But if one were to press the button for the top floor and wait till it got to the top then a great corridor would have met one. Well furnished and polish Oak floor, wooden walls and wooden doors all polished. At the end of the corridor was a door with a golden plaque on the front titled “Committee Room”.

Inside the room were just a lounge and a small bathroom on the other side of it. It was easily a smoking room; the stench of cigarettes and cigars was hanging in the room, not moving around just lingering. Centred in the middle of the room were twelve armchairs, and in those chairs were twelve men. They looked like elders aged between forty-five and sixty. These men were the Committee, a group of men hidden from public view, hidden from view of many government members, their jobs hidden from view of their families. The true ruling body of Stevid, the people who chose what really happened in a Democracy, a Dictatorship or any form of government for that matter. They are the government.

The twelve men represent many different departments within Stevid ranging from the Economy and Defence of the Realm, to the National Health Service and Education. They would bring forward ideas and schemes and debate them quickly and simply, much for efficient than a government control democracy that can be corrupt, the UNO for example.

There was a strange atmosphere in the room, something in the air and it wasn’t the strong smell of smoke. It was apprehension, nervousness, call it what you will but the Committee of Wise men were more shifty than usual.

“So how is Conroy coping at the moment?”
“Well it seems he is becoming less and less tolerant of us. We have subdued him for now, the Admiral persuaded him to go along with our decision.”
“Our mole in the government, you know he didn’t used to be the much of our friend but now money and the promise of more ships has swung him towards our way of doing things.”
“Why doesn’t the PM like this idea, his opinion poll amongst the majority of Catholic votes have gone up?”
“Well he, personally, hates the idea of deporting other religious groups. He thinks it’s wrong, a stupid idea of ours.”
“Ridiculous! He knows better than anyone how much trouble those Heretics caused us two years ago. Those Satanists as well, sacrificing people to the Devil and then selling the victims body parts on Ebay to fund the religions.”
“Well yes he does accept that crime will plummet but it is his appearance to the international community that he is worried about.”
“Ahh…”
“Yes…. And he knows the deal, if he handles the situation well then he will be liked by us and will win the next election. If he does badly we’ll kick him out and say he resigned.”
“If he resigns then he can do as he pleases, he can fly to any country in the world, tell them about us and how to finds us, claim police protection and then…”
“Yes, the Committee will be discovered and we will have to disband. You all know it can take centuries to reform a government Committee like this. He must stay in office.”
“We can’t let him take control of us. He’ll do what he wants soon enough, he’ll allow the deportees back into Stevid and we can’t kick him out because he’ll tell the world.”

There was silence for a few moments before a forty-six year man in the far corner spoke up.

“Get rid of him, assassination attempt, he always been a bit of an arsehole. Get rid of him then you get rid of the problem. Easy. Dictatorship was so much more fun. Democracy is just a theory, unlike communism.”
“Yeah… well in theory communism works and Democracy does work. But of course it’s the other way round, that’s why we’re still here.”
“Well?”
“No. Killing him does nothing; you know what politicians are like. They’re all the same, they stick together… even the opposition.”
“Hmm… what do you suggest?”
“Well there is that peace progress thing coming up isn’t there?”
“HA! Peace!! What Peace! No Ones At War!! It’s just another nation that is young and naïve, trying to tell us what to do. People may not like what we’re doing but they have no right to threaten our sovereignty. We’ll have more support than them because they’ll attack us without provocation. We haven’t provoked them at all. Think about they’re just a….”
“That’s enough. We’ll see what happens at the “Peace Process” then we’ll do what we need to do.”
“War with Kanami?”
“No… well if it is warranted which it will be if we attack, for as you said we haven’t done anything to make them attack us. We’re not in the…. UN,”

He shuddered slightly at the thought of being in the UNO, one or two others shuddered as well.

“You know that they are full of corrupt bastards anyway. So, depending on what happens at a possible conference, then we’ll make our move to do something about him. I’ll be present with the PM at the conference… Just to make sure”
“Well that’s settled then. Bandy anyone?”

Advisor of Defense Grande Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto III stepped up to his podium, his brilliant white uniform reflecting the spot lights. Behind him sprawled Honimishu Castle's brilliant Grande Hall, the gold statue of Shogun Kamikaze sparkling in the background. He waited a few minutes for silence, and then began speaking,

"It has come to our attention that the nation of Kanami has recently become agressive to a fellow member of our region. This nation, Stevid, has in no way at all warrented such actions. They have expelled certain religions, promissing to do so peacefully, so long as that peace is kept by those involved. This has been maintained for the most part. Kanami has used underhanded tactics and threats to try to bully Stevid into stopping its practice on the false premise of spreading peace and fair democracy. The world is NOT a democracy, nor do all nations HAVE to be a democracy. Our grand nation herself is not a democracy, and never has been! If they truly cared about peace or what they stand for, they would respect Stevid's national sovereignity. Instead, they went ahead and threatened Stevid, and tried to emplace military forces inside of it. Therefore, we have no choice but to return to them our OWN ultimatum:

Scale back any militaristic escalation;
Cease threats of any kind to ALL involved nations;
And come to peace talks with ivolved nations.

Failure to comply with the above can and will result in harsh consiquences. Should any hostile actions be taken on Stevid, we shall declare a state of war. Thank you and good night."

He stepped down among a flury of questions he didn't have time for.

{Uplink... ready.
{Welcome to the Imperial News Network. Please make your selection.
---Working.
{Ready.

Reality dissolved around him. He was a teacher, of a sort - that is, a Commandant at the Royal Nenya Infants Academy. The children had been uncommonly loud today - he smiled, ruefully; the wolf had really had them excited, they hadn't seen one so close before.

The newscaster sat directly before him, roughly five metres away. That his living room was not five metres wide was irrelevant; the trimensional image was high quality - he barely noticed the vague, brief moments of pixellation. The wall wasn't even visible through the bold, realistic images constructed amongst the air in front of him.

Commandant Ure'kla Menjda smiled. It was worth it, he realized. He'd concede the point to Aula later-

He blinked.

The image had shifted, now; he'd missed whatever the newscaster had said, but now-

"...present the High King of the Nenyar Species, High Lord Commodore Semir-randil I, Designated Spokesperson for the Commonality Unified Government."

Applause, warm and heartfelt, from the gathered.

Ure'kla was amongst the audience; he found himself joining in, smiling - he respected Semir-randil, primarily because he had served under him at the Battle of Turath. He shivered reflexively, swallowed hard, pushed the memory of great burning chunks of iron falling from the sky, the ocean rising like some great demon of water...

Another swallow, and he forced himself to focus on the moment.

"...and so it is unfortunate that again the Unified Commonality Government has convened regarding the threat of violent conduct by one of our counterparts in the global community against another of our counterparts in the global community.

"With the recent instability on our own soil all but dealt with, we can once again, as a people, look outwards with unity and determination to apply ourselves in the aid of our fellow Sentients wherever we can," Semir-randil was saying, a faint smile worn carefully - although his eyes were smiling, too. Ure'kla blinked slowly. It might have been his imagination, but didn't the Nenya look... flushed?

A brief round of applause around him, again compelling Ure'kla to join in. The applause was polite, of course. Meaningless tradition. Nobody applauded with feeling except at the beginning of a speech and at the end... or not.

Semir-randil gestured with a hand; an image sprung into being next to his right hand. A map. "One such place where we may hope to do great good is Stevid, where the fathers and mothers of those who shall be our great friends of the future face a troubling and difficult dilemma; where they respond with what they feel is what is required of them.

"Yet although we do not agree with their cause - or at least, many of us do not - we are, as agreed by the Unified Government with the power and trust vested in them by the People, have gained the conditional agreement of Stevid to come to the table to discuss methods of resolution. An advisory meeting, in which we the Commonality hope to sit side by side with others of this global community, and share our resources to provide additional options to the people of Stevid through their Government.

"Whether the [i]suggestions we provide are utilized or not, this represents a step forwards that we are indeed glad to take, and is yet another symbol of changes to the face of Commonality foreign policy - changes that many, we hope, will view with a great deal more optimism than the overly-assertive interventionary policy previously pursued. Whereas organisations such as the United Nations force states into submission with the empty excuse of democracy before morality and honour, the Commonality offers instead reason and discussion.

"Whereas, however, we strive for peace, there are those that would seek to find glory amidst the riches that war might bring. But although we would never seek to intervene in the internal affairs of any other acknowledged sovereign state, I feel it is important to observe that active warfare is not internal.

"If unilateral offensive military action is taken against Stevid, the Commonality will not engage in overt military action to ensure the sovereignty of Stevid. That would be above and beyond our jurisdiction, as we have no existing treaties or obligations to Stevid, militarily.

"However, any state pursuing such policy against Stevid ought to be aware that if such an action is taken against Stevid, the Commonality pledges (via Unified Government Order #121-DE3) to disavow our acceptance of the sovereignty of the aggressing state with immediate effect, and therefore will no longer consider the borders of that state to be inviolable. As such, Commonality assets, potentially along with other neutral states prepared to underake the responsibility, would assume policing duties of what we should then consider to be illegally held international territory.

"So did the Unified Government decide, in the name of the People, during open session this afternoon..."

[OOC: The rest is just a general speech, mostly turning away from Stevid and onto other issues. 'Trimensional' is a fancy word for 'holographic', for those wondering.]

Later I will give the whole history of the nation.

National Motto: "Unity, Justice, Freedom, Peace for All People"

Civil Rights: Average

Economy: Very Strong

Political Freedoms: Superb

Location: the Pacific

The Republic of Kanami is a huge, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 572 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and the Environment. The average income tax rate is 100%. A small private sector is dominated by the Book Publishing industry.

A primitive society is being eroded as its youth flock to the modern world, pharmacies close down as medicinal drugs are sold freely by the government, and the government has become increasingly militant. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Kanami's national animal is the hawk, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the kanamian.

Kanami is ranked 171st in the region and 8,787th in the world for Smartest Citizens.

(PRESS CONFRENCE)

Ladies and Gentalmen, my fellow citizens. There have been great concernes amongst you all here this past few weeks. With the turmoil in Stevid, Kanami's agressive role. Even the threat of War. We issued one final chance to the nation of Stevid, and it seems they are willing to coperate. A peace summit has been requested. Kanami whole heartedly accepts for a peace agreement. I know certian nations have felt Kanami is being a bully. We are infrenging on the soverignty of Stevid. Some have threatend to attack back, should we attack. But imagine of our founder had felt the same way. After all the nations that fought for control over Kanami, didn't. Many of these nations that attacked Kanami in it's early days, were ones that don't belive in Democracy. Ones who don't belive in freedom. Ones who belive in Social Contracts, Comunisim, Toraletarianism. What we saw in Stevid, we didn't just see as an infringement on civil rights. Nor just an attack on Democracy. What we saw was a pure violation of certain inalienable rights. Rights that do not exist because the Government allows them to exist. But because they are human. If the nation of Stevid will truly cooperate, and come to negotiate a peaceful democratic settlement, then Kanami will be a freindly nation. We will stand down our milatary for the time being, and maintain peace and unity in the world. Thank you, and remeber the words of our founder "Unity, Justice, Freedom, Peace for All People."

Stevid has already stated that they have accepted the conference to be held at Ma-Tek.

This doesn't mean Stevid will withdraw Task Force 0.2548 from International Waters that border Kanami.

Not untill we can dampen their eratic attitude towards what we are doing.

It is estimated that it will be another three days before the entire deportation is completed.

The Imperial Palace Government Chambers

The Twelve High Lords of the Imperium, the Emperor his Most Revered Majesty Stephen I, and the lower lords of the Imperium, had all met for a special session of government to discuss the evolving crisis in Stevid. Stevid had always been a long-term ally, but the Lower Lords were up in arms over the Stevid crisis, as well as a fifty-fifty split between the High Lords in what to do. One Lower Lord, Lugft Huron, who was a candidate to be a thirteenth High Lord, was the most outraged on the current event.

“Why should we tolerate this blatant act of persecution? This stands against our principles and beliefs! I say the High Lords and the Emperor are weak and scared to act in the name of justice!”

The Emperor, most shocked about this statement, commented that the Astratesite Government is now divided about what should be done about this current crisis.
Sources in the Imperial Palace say that the Emperor remains loyal to the Stevid- Astratesite Alliance, and that he and the three more loyal High Lords will support Stevid Prime Minister David Conroy in the actions of his nation, as under the previous domestic affairs the actions appear partly justified.
But should the crisis erupts immensely, and the divisions in government continue along with public opinion, then Adaptus Astrates will be put in a precarious position to support the Stevid government.

[OOC: A rare event for me, but really there's little ICly to be added in -this- thread from my perspective just now if we're starting a different thread for the conference.

Stevid, Kanami, anyone else sending delegates: there's a tiny little problem; well, not a problem, but an obstacle. Since there are no foreign internal flights inside the Commonality, any delegates would either 1. fly into the Special Access Terminal at newly renamed Third International Airport (at the border north of the capital city, Nenya), or 2. be directly flown to Nenya State Stellar Spaceport (just outside the capital and formerly an international airport) from their own countries via transportation laid on by the Commonality. I, personally, would prefer b; it essentially means less telegramming back and forth, because if you're sending people into my country, then the backdrop has to be appropriately 'legitimate'. Also, in IC terms, your delegates would have swifter, more comfortable rides, I'm willing to bet. Nobody flies in style like the Iluvauromeni*. ;)

But ultimately, that'd be up to you; just letting you know 1. the options and 2. to expect muchos information via telegram if we take route 1. ;)

* - disclaimer: nobody flies in style like the Iluvauromeni (in atmospheric terms) that I yet know of. *shiftyeyes*

Again, sorry for the wholly OOC post. It can be edited into some IC news story later on, once you've all read and whatnot, I'm sure, so I'll do that just as soon as I think of something apt.]

I could get one of my superdreadnaughts out in a place equally distant from all nations involved, and we could hold the meeting there. That way arrival is by helicopter, we have the meeting, and we go home. Easy. Tell me what you think.

Our nation is open to refugees, of any religion. They may stay temporarily or apply for citizenship in Callisdrun. Even the Satanists."
-Chief of Diplomacy, Admiral Erzsebet Sorvik.

Erzsebet smirked as she sent the letter. The Satanists would be no problem at all. Previous experience showed that foreign Satanists quickly became fascinated by the Callisdrunian pantheon, especially by the goddess, Ithtyr.

Attack On Police Precinct 8256

Sunderland- Second Largest Stevidian City

There was a man who had managed to evade MI5 for the past two years, a man who managed to remain undetected by the Police Force during the deportation.
This man was called Giles, an atheist at heart but had good feelings for Hinduism. On many occasions he had led religious services in deserted areas of Stevid and areas already swept by law enforcement officers. He was preaching the word of Vishnu but also brainwashing the younger generation, implanting anti-government thoughts into their heads. A few months ago, the secret police would have killed them, now they could talk about the government as they please. But with the deportation going on, peaceful demonstrations would get nowhere. Violence was now the only way to get the point across to the police and the government.

Giles had begun getting his hands on weapons, many different ones ranging from pistols to RPG’s. They were ready, ready to attack. They had under gone extensive training underground throughout the whole time the deportations had been going on. One Hundred and fifty seven Hindus and some from other religions from all over Sunderland had amassed in an abandoned building. The time to strike was now.

The largest Police Precinct in Stevid was Precinct 8256 in Sunderland. Heavily defended but also home to arrested religious leaders and follows await extradition from Stevid. It would be a devastating assault on the Police and also would be a mass jailbreak. They were sure it would work.

There was a slight mist around the Precinct, there were armed officers patrolling the perimeters and two pillboxes with MG’s in them at the main entrance and rear entrance. Everyone was armed with live ammo and were to shoot anyone that showed liable aggression towards the defending officers.
They weren’t expecting an attack, Sunderland had been swept almost clean of other religions, they knew there were pockets of resistance but nothing prepared them for what was to happen that morning.

Six snipers positioned themselves on the ground behind some bins and some bus shelters. Their urban camouflage giving them some cover as they readied themselves.
Two of them targeted the pillboxes at the main entrance; the other targeted the goons patrolling the road around it.
The mass wave of rebels behind were now running out of the mist towards the main
Entrance, as soon as they drew level with the snipers, the snipers opened fire. One MG was put out of action and three officers were struck down, never to get back up again.
Immediately the other MG returned fire at the amassed mob of rebels pouring out of the street mowing down twenty in a few seconds.
There was an explosion as an RPG rocked the pillbox, the armour held but part the roof caved in leaving only seven officer to kill the remaining rebels. The crowd stopped dead in their tracks. In doing so thirteen of the rebels fell another six were injured. The front row fire full automatic bursts into the seven officers. Six were killed, leaving the last one writhing in agony on the ground.
The rebel fired the RPG at the main gate, which blew apart. Several officers had arrived to man the ramparts of the Precinct doing all they could with their SMG’s. The snipers picked off one and injured one more as the rebels charged through the breach in the precinct’s outer walls. Now officers in riot gear were flooding out of the prison and charging at the rebels. Armed with bulletproof shields, batons and 54mm. Pistols, they charged their way towards the crowd.

Once again, the mob halted at the front and opened fire. As thirty guns fired, the bullets only managed to down two officers. They fired again taking only one man out. It took only seconds for someone to throw a grenade at the wall of shields fast approaching them. A nail bomb went off behind the last line of officers killing twelve instantly and injuring six more.
The inevitable then happened as the riot officers threw themselves at the crowd, using the massive amount of body weight to shift the amount of rebels.

There was an explosion as the RPG destroyed a huge area of a wall on the first floor of the prison block. Prisoners soon began to start jumping out of the hole in the wall and down to the ground, sixteen prisoners held because of their religious beliefs managed to escape the prison including one Hindu religious leader who was awaiting execution by MI5 under terrorist charges. The escaped prisoners ran through the gates and away to freedom.

With their mission complete the rebel started their retreat, taking casualties on the way, firing madly trying to kill officers on their retreat.
Molotov’s were now being throw wildly in all directions by the rebels as a away of trying to stem the flow of officers charging at them, try everything they could to stop them reaching them as they ran through the narrow hole in the gate.

With their retreat in process drastic measures were needed to either kill or apprehend the rebels. The Local army unit had been alerted when the gate had been blown out and now three APC’s full with troops and one Challenger II tank entered the scene cutting off the retreating rebels.

The rebels panicked and started to scatter all over the street. The street was now closed off and with people starting to arrive for work it was difficult to explain that there was a street fight commencing down the road.

OOC: Sorry that this post isn’t as good or as detailed as some of my other post during this rp, but I’m afraid the writers block is really hurting my brain now.

Since this is a major street battle and the TA has been called in, then I’ll rp news broadcast on the situation later today.

Happy Reading ;)

The desk of Advisor of War Grande Admiral Yamamoto was littered with papers detailing situations all over the globe. However, for the past week or so, one corner of his desk had become the sole property of the Kanami-Stevid showdown. Though they had agreed to come to a peace conference, he was afraid that discrepencies over where to hold it would act as the match in the barn. He signiled over one of the guards in the room, "take this order down to the docks in Neo-Nagasaki. We're dispatching Island to a point of equal distance between the two nations to hold off tensions and host a peace conference. It is imperitive that they leave port ASAP."
"Sir, yes Sir!" the guard said, snapping to attention. He grabbed the paper and ran out of the office.

As the ICS Island left port, the sun was just sinking below the western horizon, bathing the beast in oranges, reds, and pinks. Her glistining gray armour doubled the effect, reflecting the light from the water. She was massive indeed. She was a tri-marine. Forming the center hull was a long flight deck with four bow catapults. Forming the port and starboard hulls were battleship frames, each boasting three in-line triple turrets of 20" cannons, both forward and aft. On the outside hull of each battleship was another flight deck, consisting of two bow and two waist catapults. Within 48 hours, she would arrive on the scene at exactly halfway between the two nations. Ships of each nation would be allowed to come within 25 miles of her. From there, delegates OR heads of state would arrive on her deck by helicopter. Only unarmed helicopters would be allowed to come near her.

As the sun set even further, lights on the ship began to illuminate, making her look like a floating city.

The real one I was talking about outguns Island by a whole turret, or three cannons, and is probably bigger, though it doesn't have the flight-decks. But thanx for the compliment.

I'm still working on the full specs. It's taking me a while.

It was with some concern that I learnt of the public and sectarian policy of religious persecution occurring in your nation. Rest assured, however, that it is not the policy of the Republic of Praetoria Novus to interfere in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation and we will not be making any comments (formal or otherwise) regarding it – despite some of the widespread publicity it has received in our media.

That said, the Republic of Praetoria Novus has a proposition for you that could benefit both our nations. The Republic of Praetoria Novus is a completely secular nation, and does not formally recognise the existence of any organised religious groups (which are strictly banned). Furthermore, our nation is officially atheist.

The Senate of the Republic of Praetoria Novus therefore declares that it would be willing to provide asylum to any of the atheists or agnostics in your strife-torn nation. We await your reply with interest.

SIN (Stevid International News)

The camera panned down towards a male newsreader with music playing and a faint picture of the flag of Stevid fluttering in the breeze. The picture then faded completely and the music stopped as the camera now focused wholly on the newsreader.

“Good morning.

A central part of Sunderland was today turned into a war zone in the early hours of the morning resulting in the deaths of more than twenty police officers. A huge rebellious group numbering over a hundred men armed with RPG’s and automatic weapons, charged, attack and then assaulted His Majesty’s Police Precinct and Prison 8256.

I hand you over to our other man at the interactive board…”

“The mob consisted of a number of religions but mostly of Hindus who were attacking due to the apprehending of a Hindu religious leader. The assault took place early this morning before people arrived for work. RPG’s were fired at Pillboxes and snipers are said to have shot at the other pillbox and the frontier guards.
The initial assault overwhelmed the frontier guards leaving one wounded; officers then manned the ramparts of the exterior wall killing at least twelve rebels before being killed my the mob, the snipers or wounded.

When the rebels enter the compound through the main gate the fire the RPG at part of the prison wall at one end of the compound making a huge hole in the wall allowing prisoners, including the religious leader, to escape out of the compound and away to freedom. They haven’t been seen since.

At this point nearly hundred and thirty officers in riot gear poured out of the Precinct and the Prison, from there they used bullet proof shields to deflect fire and used their own weapons to kill at least ten rebels. This is when the rebel force unleashed deadly weapons such as Molotov’s and nail bombs killing a total of twelve officers in one blast.

During the storming of the compound the Territorial Army stationed at Sunderland barracks was called out and arrived in three fully loaded APCs and two Challenger II Tanks, the police force that managed to survive the assault had set up armed roadblocks at every exit from the block to stop the escaping rebels.

It is reported that the rebel fled into the street and are now exchanging fire with Soldiers. Three TA soldiers are reported to have been killed and one injured. There are about twenty six rebels still able to fight”

(The camera panned in on the news desk)

Roger: Good Morning everybody and welcome to KBNN News in the Morning, I'm Roger Paul

Allie: And I'm Allie Yoshida.

Roger: The top story today, Prime Minister Steven Koolridge is expected to meet with represenative of the nation of Stevid soon. Exactly where has not been disclosed but we do have a reporter flying with the Prime Minister as we speak. If the he is granted clearance we'll have live coverage of the Peace Negotiations.

Allie: It seemed like war with Stevid was all but inevatble, untill peace calls were called out for. (stock footage) Steven: "The nation of Stevid has called for peace talks. And Kanami accpets." (End footage) The Prime Minister's goals are too:

1. Have a one-on-one freindly dialouge with Stevid's represnatives.
2. Try to reverse the Governmental orders of Stevid, in expelling certain religions from the region.
3. Prevent War between Kanami, Psychotic Pcyhos and Stevid
4. Discuss plans Refugges, and asylum matters.
At the start Prime Minister said to the nation: (Stock footage) Kanami will accept all thoes seeking asylum. "

Roger: While on the international scale many have disapproved of Kanami's aggresive policey with Stevid, many at home have more than approved. Karen Kajiura has that story.

(Stock Footage: Rallies of people wholding signs ranging from STOP STEVID, to CIVIL RIGHTS FOR ALL! STOP THE DEPORTATIONS!!!)

Karen: (v.o.) At home in Kanami, many have whole heartedly agreed with the Prime Minister. People took to the streets holding signs, and chanting: "STOP THE DEPORTATIONS! STOP THE DEPORTATIONS!" Many of thoes are faithfull practicers of Islam.
Islamic Man: It's an embarassment. To my people, to our religion. We are not all terrorists. I think thoes terrorists that claim they are doing jihad should be struck down by Allah.
Karen: (v.o.) Even non Islamic Churches helped in the cause. With charties, donations, and protests.
Catholic Priest: Despite if you are Catholic, Shinto, Muslim, Uh-Jewish, we are still all one under god.
Baptist Minister: Well I think it's a discrace! The fact that the Government thinks they can push everybody around b/c of what religon they practice. Kanami was founded upon the principals of democracy, freedom, and social justice. And if our great founder and first leader Yasashii Himura we're alive, she would keel over greatly ill. Koolridge would make her very proud. I wish all nations could be founded upon the ideals of her. Then the world would be a much better place.
Karen (interviewing) So you agree with the Prime Minister, and are completly opposed to what the Government in Stevid is doing?
Minister: Absolutely. My Ma'ma came here in a rickty boat, nearly drowning on the seas, so she, and our whole family could practice her religon freely. And I made her proud by becoming a minister. Religion is what keeps kids of the streets. Keeps them with higer morals.

Christian Minister: Today it's expelling religions, tomorrow it's a mass genocided holucaust. The people who do these things are the type to do terrible things later. And if we just turn the other cheek, we'll regret it later.

Karen: (v.o.) Others however wern't so inclined to suport the Minister.

Woman: Well I know it's wrong, but Stevid is a diffrent nation. It's non of our business how it's ran. I say just let this thing play out, eventually the Governemt will relize it's faults.

Man: It's all a copreate scam. Facism thats what it is.

Man: I think Stevid is right in what it's doing. After all look at what thoes terrorists did to them. I think Kanami should be like the rest of the world and just stay out!

Karen: (v.o.) From Carmina Cadalica, Karen Kajiura KBNN News Kanami.

Roger: Thanks Karen. Still no word on as to when the peace summit will be held. We guess sometime this morning. We'll go into breaking news when that does occure. Thanks for joining us this morning we'll see you later today at Noon.

Dawn lit up the sky early in this area of the world, and the new, soft blue light played a different reflection off the hull of the Island. As she sat there at the place the meetings were to be held, contact was made with the Kanami copter,

Helicopter of Kanami National origin. You are cleared to approach
the ship. You will land on the aft section of our port flight deck. Two
Seahawks are airborne to assure you land in the safest of manners.
Please DO NOT deviate in any odd way.

As the helicopter came in, it was closely watched, but it landed as planned on the aft section of the port deck. Psi-Pso Advisor of War Grande Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto III was waiting there as the chopper wound down. As the Kanami PM and his security detail stepped down, he spoke, "I hope that you have had a fine flight. Unfortunatly, your security will have to surrender all weapons aboard this ship. They will be kept in a safe locker for the duration of the confrences. It has also come to my attention that you have a reporter with you. We feel that it is not appropriate for live coverage. However, he shall be allowed to take notes for a post-conference coverage." He spoke in a manner that did not invite argument, probably from his 100+ years of service in the navy. "Please, follow me." He did one last bow, and then led them into the depths of the ship. As they went, passing pipes, bunk housing, and other various ship parts, not another soul could be seen on the ship. Finally, after 15 minutes of walking, they arrived in the central hangar, which had been modified to house a large conference table in the center. Along the edges were guards at medium intervals, dressed in their full armour, reminescent of the samurai they had descended from. "Please be seated, we shall await the Stevid delegates."

"Very well. They shall hand over all weapons, and my reporter will hand over his videocamera. but would it be okay if my reporter makes a satalite call before the confrense? And that he be allowed to take photographs?"

Steven's breifcase was handed back to him. It had been searched prior.

"Thank you."

The helicopter buzzed it’s way over the calm windswept waters of the afternoon, inside were delegates of Stevid and the PM, comfortably seated in the helicopter as it approached the allied Super Dreadnought. It was under these pressing circumstances that the International Stevid delegation representatives and PM had been rushed together there papers and reports, then ushered into a helicopter and flown off to this conference.

It was being called a peace conference but with all honesty it wasn’t, it was a conference to save guard to relationship between Stevid and Kanami. Stevid had requested the peace conference as an alternative to engaging Kanami (A vastly smaller and young country) in war. PM Conroy didn’t want to be the one that would wage war against a new country such as Kanami; his reputation would plummet to levels unheard of. If he had to order a large-scale attack on Kanami then it would be done under real reasons, but not these. Conroy was still trying to understand what was giving Kanami the nerve to do something like this to Stevid.
He pondered this thought in his head and looked to his right. Sitting next to him was a Mr. Thomas Morison- a leading member of the Wiseman’s Committee in Stevid; he was here to see their plans through to the end on behalf of the Committee.

The pilot had just finished talking to someone over the radio, probably the air control tower on the SDN, and took the helicopter into a low hover over a free helipad on the aft of the ship. It touched down gracefully and the rotors slowed to a gentle whining before ceasing to move all together.
Conroy and the six other delegates stepped out of the helicopter and walked towards the infrastructure where a lieutenant belonging to the ship was waiting.

Conroy and the group stopped in front of the lieutenant. Conroy used to be in the Stevid RAF and remembering back to those days long past- saluted the officer that stood before him in the blazing heat. He then quickly lowered his arm and extended his hand towards the officer.

“Prime Minister David Michael Conroy and the six requested delegates are now here dear sir… Permission to come aboard…”

The man on the deck waiting for them saluted rather stiffly, and then shook the offered hand. "Rear Admiral Gene Starwin, Captain of the ICS Island. Permission to board is granted. Any weapons held by guards must be surrendered to our sailors to be placed in safe storage for the duration of the meeting." He gestured with his arm, "please. Follow me." he led them on the same walk down through the ship to the central hangar where the Kanami delegates were already seated. AoW Yamamoto was speaking to their delegation, "it is fine for him to make a call, and photographs shall be allowed as long as they show as little of the hardware in this hangar as possible." Spying the incoming Stevid delegation, he stood and extended his hand. "My name is Grande Admiral Isoruku Yamamoto III, Advisor of War for the Shogunate. It is an honor to meet you. Please, take your seats." He gestured at the seats directly opposite of the Kanamians. Retaking his seat, he went on further, "refreshments will be served shortly. Due to the nature of discussion today, alcohol will not be on the menu. However, we do have various sodas, coffees, or teas.
"Now, as you should know, we are hear to discuss the current situation between your two nations, Stevid and Kanami. As are understanding goes, Stevid expelled several religions for the sake of national security. Kanami understandably has some doubts and some anger over the actions. These were translated into further actions that Stevid interpreted as threats. In turn, Stevid dispatched forces to try to avert whatever threat it saw. And this is where we stand now. Before allowing it to go on further, these talks were called." He paused for a few moments, eyeing the situation. "Now, I do not want any blame to be passed around, or any finger-pointing here. We are here solely to discuss how to follow a course of action to prevent the escalation of any hostilities and to make each party as happy as possible with what is happenning."

A sailor in an elegant butler suit walked through a bulkhead. "Ah! But first, some refreshments. Please, go ahead and take what is desired. Then, we shall begin."

Announcer this a KBNN Special Breaking News Report.

Roger: Good afternoon. We have just gotten word that our reporter Charles Indigo, who is stationd with the Prime Minister aboard an undisclosed Navel Ship. He is on the phone with us now Charles.

Charles: Thanks Roger, I am calling via Satalite Phone from a Ship in the sea between Kanami and Stevid. Now I've been told that I am not allowed to do a live broadcast, so before this I was allowed to call the network and tell that I have arrived, and the confrense will be held shortley.

Allie: Charles what can you tell us about the ship you are on?

Charles: Not a whole lot Allie, as I am only allowed to talk about certian things, for the sake of security purpouses, but what I can tell you is, this ship is impresive. I can't begin to tell you what I've seen, but it certianly is something to rival Aqua Anu's infamous 1000 Island Navy Force. And it the "K.S.S. Yasashii" is absolutely nothing like this.

Roger: What seemes to be the general mood?

Charles: Well the meeting hasn't started yet, but it seems to be calm, cool and colected. Koolridge is keeping under control, I think he's happy that diplomacy has taken route over force. I saw the PM of Stevid and he certianlly look like an intelligant man, someone of very high IQ, and a real Navy Man. He's wearing the International Navel Cross, and many other decorations of his Royal Navy. Right now both are just taking a moment to get everything together, get everything organized, enjoy some refreshments, Koolridge is drinking some of his favorite Honey-Tea.

Allie: Charlie, we know you are not premitted to film this event, but are you allowed to photograph?

Charles: To a certain exten Allie, I am. I have to take pictures of only the things that they allow me to take. I wish I could snap this whole ship, but I know I can't. Mainly I've been taken pictures of the Koolridge, of Conroy, the Grand Admiral, and various other things. I know the Prime Minister Koolridge is wearing several Kanami-Pride Pins, and a United Nations Pin. He also has the national motto on his breif case. Roger and Allie, I'm going to have to let you go, the meeting is starting very shortly. When it is over, I will call back, and report on all the things that went underway.

Roger: Thanks Charlie, we'll be waiting for that call. Stay tuned with us, because we'll be going over the events that have unfolded over the past several weeks.

Steven was handed a cup of his favorite tea.

"Thank you kindly" Even though both nations had been hostile back to Kanami, he remebered his mother's teachings 'There is no sub for good manners.'

He sat back and sipped. He was quiet relived that this had taken the turn to diplomacy. The last thing Steven wanted was War. He set down his tea cup and, and patientlly and polietly waited for the meeting to start.

Conroy and the other Stevid delegates had entered the now bustling conference “hall” and swiftly examined the tables in the hall. Opposite the Kanami table stood another table, the flag of Stevid stood behind it and the plaque at the front of the table said the nation’s name as well. They swiftly sat down at their seats. Conroy sat in the middle and the member of the committee to his left.

The committee’s man had had a pistol on him, which he had handed over to the guards on duty and the Royal Marines that came with the delegates had stayed outside and had started conversing among themselves and the other marines on board.

The man to Conroy’s left started to speak in a low voice.

“Your doing a grand job dear boy, a grand job. I have to say that we are most impressed.”
“When are you going to let them back into Stevid? Soon I hope.”
“When the time is right, but in the meantime we have this to deal with. Now MI6 have told me and the committee that Kanami is gaining a lot of confidence, they’ll be a constant thorn in our side if we don’t do something about it today.”
“Them going to war with us you mean?”
“Kanami doesn’t have the financial capability to fight a war against us, money is the key here, and if they had more than us then I’d be very worried. No, not war, I shouldn’t worry about war with them because it’ll be too costly on their side of things. No, what I mean is that they will continue to go against our actions and might get some popular support.”
“Support, we’ve three allies who believe in a cause, two of them offering military support. Guffingford is more political support than PP’s or AA’s support. We’ve got a cause, national security.”
“Yes, and that terrorist attack that happened to us when Stevid was very young was the beginning of the end for them. Support that they are gaining will be annoying and difficult to get along with. But they won’t go to war over it. Besides the deportation will be finished by tomorrow. Excluding the rebels still in the country.
There is a big difference between saying threats and then carrying them out.”
“Hmmm… point taken, besides the Task Force is in position. Oh and speaking of the Task Force, two ships have just arrived at the position where the Task Force is anchored. HMS Ocean and HMS Fearful, their both Amphibious Assault Carriers, they’re there… well… just in case these talks go somewhere they shouldn’t.”
“Heh heh…! That will prove to be a valuable trump card in these negotiating talks.”
“Well quite… ah thank dear lady…”

A smartly dressed young lady had walked over to them with a tray of tea of which everyone took. She walked smiling at them. Conroy turned to the man.

“Don’t even say it, I’m a married man for goodness sake.”
“Yes, but I’m not.”
“The Committee will not allow it, the secret can’t be exposed to the public.”
“I could always pack it in.”
“That could give me a place in the committee.”
“If you handle this well there may well be a chair with your name in it. Nah, I’m getting tired of it all, I’m feed up of ruling over people… might just pack it in.”
“They won’t leave you alone, they’ll keep tabs on you, just to make sure your not speaking.”
“Don’t worry, they trust me,” he sipped his tea a swallowed. “Shame the tea isn’t as good as I thought it would be.”
“I like it.”
“You would… Anyway lets just wait for this bloody thing to start. I want to get back, from what I’ve heard the MoD have pulled out a file out of the Red Cabinet.”
“About this?”
“No, something to do with Guffingford. So I want this to be short and sweet.”

He gulped down his tea and sat quietly, not saying a word as people bustled around getting things prepared for the beginning of negotiations.

IC:

Admiral Yamamoto cleared his throat, and the butler left the hangar. All movement and talk among guards ceased, and the room became still, not even the water at the hulls could be heard. He then began speaking in a level voice, "all right, now, let us begin with the discussion. I would like to start with Kanami as they have opposed Stevids actions. I would like to hear their side of the story, reasoning for their actions, and what they would like done about it. When they are finished, I will give Stevid the floor. I do not want interruptions. Kanami, you have the floor. Please, go ahead."

SPECIAL SIN BROADCAST

This is a special news broadcast brought to you by SIN studios. The government today told the press that the final official deportation acts were completed only a few hours ago. The government had already predicted the final deportation act was to end this morning, however it was reported that there was and attempt by rebels to halt the last deportees leaving the country and giving them “liberty” once again. The rebels used tear gas in the International Stevid Seaport (ISS) and smoke grenades as cover to rescue the women and children they could get their hands on, it is thought that men weren’t a top priority in the raid.
There were three hundred deportees waiting for transfer and a total of thirty-six managed to escape to safety. It has been thought the rescuers outside of the port bundled the people rescued into two vans and were pursued by Seaport Security and Police. The rebels inside the main complex are thought to have been arrested and put under Royal Marine supervision on the ships exporting the deportees.
Despite the fiasco at the port terminal, the ship set sail with passengers for these reasons and circumstances for the last time.

It is well known that there are still rebellious religious groups out there that are willing to keep on fighting for what they believe in, the government minister of Home Affairs had this to say.

“We are extremely pleased that the deportations are now over, but we do know of the terrorist groups out there who will fight and kill to be recognised. So longs as they continue to do so, they will be killed, or they will be deported as well but by plane. More cost effective than this. This whole affair has cost Stevid a lot of money, but I think it has turned out okay in the end. The government has completed what it wanted to do. I grant you yes, there have been many upsets amongst the families of those who have been killed. We sympathise to those families who have lost loved ones, and now that this whole ordeal is over we can start re-building the damaged caused in places around Stevid; but it is safe to say we now completely avoided a Civil War, which is exactly what the government did not want. So if anyone says we’ve achieved nothing then they’ve been living under a rock.

The conference that the PM and other delegates are going to a have very little meaning on the subject, however, there are plenty more people who have evaded detection from us and so what is trying to be agreed at the peace conference is very little, the only thing they’ll be able stop a mere two hundred from being sent away.

These international opponents stand to gain very little from these talks… but now at least we’re talking.

Thank you”

We’ll give you more updates as they come in.
This is SIN, goodnight.

"Thank you Admiral. (He stood up) Well as you well know, we have been displeased with the actions taken by the Government of Stevid. We feel this is a violation of everything that one stands for. Esspecially a fragile democracy such as Stevid. If I'm not mistaken, Stevid has recently inacted a democratic government, have they not? But how is it democratic to expell a person on the basis of their religion. On what we consider an "INALIENABLE RIGHT" A right given on the bases that they are human, not pawns of the Government. It's morally irresponsable, and morally, and ethically wrong. Your reasons are for the claim of national security. And terrorisim. But sending a SWAT Team to bust down the doors of innocent people, and drag them out of their homes, is what we could constitue as Terrorism, in its self. This isn't going to boost your national security, this is going to make it worse. You are going to spawn more terrorism. Retaliation from terrorist groups, for expelling people of their faith. This only jusifies their actions. Thank you, I yeild the remander of my time to Stevid.

"On what we consider an "INALIENABLE RIGHT" A right given on the bases that they are human, not pawns of the Government."

The committeeman had sniggered violently at this statement, in fact so violently that he had started to draw a little bit of attention to himself. He had coughed very loud to make him look innocent enough to be ignored by most of the people at the conference.

Conroy remained seated, his face slightly pink at the behaviour of his monitor sitting next to him. Conroy remained seated but then started to talk openly at the conference.

“Now, I understand Kanami’s concerns over the current situation in Stevid, but may I ask everyone here at this conference, all those sitting before me, all those listening to me, all those watching or listening over videophone, I ask you, why is Kanami concerned so deeply in a affair that doesn’t affect them nationally, let alone internationally, in any way? How has this affected your nation? Huh? Come on tell me, I think we’d all like to know dear sir.
Well I’ll tell you, it hasn’t, yes, the only thing that has really drawn you into this is because you accepted the deportees and we thank you for that. But you say we sent in SWAT teams to forcibly deport members of Stevid’s public… you are wrong my dear friend. If you get your facts right and your intelligence network flowing, you will find that Armed Response Police Units were used against civilians because they opened fire with live ammunition, we used the SAS against known criminals and Heretical leaders. And let it be known, few innocents were killed, yes, there were a few accidents, but that was always going to be inevitable in such a move as this.
Democracy has returned to Stevid, but the people who have been deported will experience it better in other countries as well as this one, they will be welcomed back, but for the time being, in the interest of national and now because of Kanami, international security, these people have been deported. No one can stop us from doing it because firstly we wouldn’t listen anyway, and secondly- what are you going to do about it?

The deportation is over and Kanami presents little threat to Stevid. But I now bring to you’re attention Task Force 0.2548 which at the moment has received three more ships that are capable of landing troops and mechanised machines and weaponry, if this conference ends up going nowhere, then we will seriously consider sending a nuclear capable submarine and aircraft carrier. Now we understand that this present a threat to Kanami but we can assure you that if Kanami doesn’t do anything hostile towards us then we won’t to them. But be aware there is a six-mile exclusion zone around the fleet and the fleet we will consider a violation of this as a hostile act… just thought you should know.

So tell us Kanami, how has this affected your nation in such a way that gives you the nerve to threaten us? Please, I await with great interest for your forth coming, and probably enlightening reply.”

He looked to his left to the committeeman, with a very satisfied look on his face.

Before Kanami could answer, the admiral interjected. "There shall be no more talk of war or war machines or hostilites for the remaining duration of these talks. These talks are to stop what you are talking about. Whoever starts this will be making their final mistake.

"Now, Kanami makes a good point. You are a democracy, Stevid. Also, these actions are more likely to create more terrorism, and, quite frankly, are very profiling. However, Stevid does make a very valid argument. Kanami, aside from your taking refugees, you have no involvement here, and Stevid has its own sovereignity. If it doesn't affect you, why should you care enough to the point of lossing the lives of some of your citizens?"

30-09-2005, 03:52
True while this has not affected Kanami's in anyway, this has affected what we stand for! Every man woman and child in the nation of Kanami could tell you the whole history of how and why we were founded. I won't give the entire history, you can look it up in the World Archives. Now when our national leader and founder Lady Yasashii Himura established the fair and balanced parliment, she also established a comitte on international politcs. She was idealistic and full of philosphy. As our Nation's Motto states: Unity, Justice, Freedom, and Peace for ALL PEOPLE. SHE MEANT ALL PEOPLE! ALL PEOPLE of Kanami and ALL PEOPLE OF THE WORLD. She wante Kanami to be the shining example of all these atributes. That was here desire, she wanted less apathy in the world, and she wanted more caring. Kanami cares. Which is why we took in the refugees from your nation. And we take in refugees from all nations. As well as our freinds and allies. I know we may not see eye-to-eye on everything, but Democracy is all about two or more parties setlting. Which is why we have been so aggresively persuing this over the past several weeks. We feel it's wrong, and we don't feel you have any real justification to do so. When Kanami was still growing with imigrants, many loyalists from the nations we fleed from came to Kanami's lands. But Prime Minister Himura, and the others who followed her in the early days, didn't expell them. I certainly know PM Himura NEVER Even Considered it. And if PM Himura was still alive and runing the nation, she would just as agressively persu you to change you plans of action as I have.
Many Kanamians are refugees, people who crossed in ricktey old boats to make it. We didn't turn them away. We never forced out them b/c they we're Shinto, Catholic, Muslim, Jewish, or another small religion. I am happy that many of thoes who we're forced out of Stevid have found happier lives in other nations. But non-the less, there are thoes who desire to go back home. To their famlies, freinds, nieghbors, and comunities. There are many in Kanami right now, having a hard time adjusting, they don't understand certian customs, or the languages. "It's okay to infringe on certian civil rights, in order for security. It's okay to do these things, if no one gets hurt. It's just okay, because they are diffrent." Are these the messages we want to send to our children? That it's okay to hate a minority. That it's okay to do things like harras them, infringe on their civil rights, or do anything, because they are diffrent? What kind of message are you sending? To our schools, our homes, our business, churches, and comunities? What kind of messages are you sending to my schools? To my children? To the worlds children? Suppose this theory: A nation has an ehthnic squable. This squable turns into anger, anger leads to hate, then the hate leads to the suffering. Thousands run around slaughtering eachother, b/c they are apart of this tribe, or this tribe. If Kanami or anyother nation went in to stop the killings, and restore order, I doubt you would be angry. Now that is just a relavent point. The point is this is how I see it: The world can actually care about it's fellow man and women, and help, or we can all be apathetic. We chose nonapathy. I figure we can help you Stevid, by showing this is a grave mistake, or we can sit back and watch your nation destroy it's self on NGNN.

With the chair's premission, I would like to make one final statment regarding military force. I will with hold the stament if denied. And after this no further mentions of war will be made.

Conroy, who had remained throughout the entire conference so far, didn’t look deterred or embarrassed by what was coming out of the mouth of Kanami’s leader’s mouth. It was true what he had said, Stevid had made a name for itself, not really a good one at that, but Kanami had accepted that they hadn’t been affected by what Stevid had done, only emotionally, emotions are irrelevant in political affairs such as this, if it has to be done then it has to be done. He would use this to his advantage.

He spoke up again but did not rise.

“Obviously this is going nowhere fast people. Kanami has admitted that Stevid’s has not affected their nation by the actions taken by the government. However, they have been affected emotionally, hardly the way to give us a good ticking off. We respect Kanami’s democratic values, nor shall we violate Kanami’s democratic values with our values. But our values are our own and no one has the right to change them politically… only by force. No one here wants force, I’m trying my best to steer it away from it. So in response to Kanami’s statement, Stevid will not fall apart, once… um… the government has decided that the threat has passed us for the time being, then we will be more than willing to let those who have been deported, in the interest of national security, back into the country.
But, if Kanami really wants to know… Military Intelligence Five or MI5 to everyone else here, provided the government with information of the long forgotten terrorist group Red Cell, one of the most secretive terrorist groups in the world, had returned to Stevid. Their founding nation. In response we had to make drastic measures, Red Cell recruit anybody, they prefer Satanists but are willing to take anybody who isn’t Jewish, Orthodox Christian. The danger to the public was too great. To attack them without removing members of the population first, we wouldn’t want civil war.
Now that the people of Stevid are a lot safer now than they were before, and that includes the deportees, MI5 will concentrate on Red Cell who will now disband for the time being. When Stevid feels the time is right, the deportees will be invited back, and we know full well that many are willing to come back to their native homeland.

Until then there is nothing you can do, anyway the deportation is over. Only twenty are leaving at a time now, not worthy of total recognition. I feel obliged to tell Kanami now, that if you want to Stevid fall apart in front of the world then you’ll have to wait for someone to come along and blow us up because it isn’t going to happen, Stevid still continues to flourish even as we speak, the economy is extremely healthy and things are shaping up nicely… one might detect a hint of jealousy in the voice of a Kanamian citizen that Stevid is a great nation… with yes… a few flaws here and here in democracy, but every nation has it.

Your comment dear sir doesn’t deter us, nor are we worried of the near impossible future that stands before us. But since these talks are beginning to progress well now, we will consider withdrawing the Task Force- not yet though, but we will consider it now that Kanami is proving less hostile towards us now than previously.

My time talking at the moment is at an end dear sir, we await your views dear sir…”

The committeeman had continued to smile throughout the proceedings of Conroy’s speech and Kanami’s.
“Your doing well Conroy, keep this up and your place is in the bag.”

Conroy smiled again and then whispered into his ear.

“We’ve nearly eliminated the prospect of war, the conference is going well… I think we’re on a role here, it is going very well for us… when Kanami talks we’ll then know whether we’ve got the upper hand…”

"Kanami, despite your strong views toward democracy and spreading equality for all, you cannot deny a nation's sovereignity. If it were of serious harm, such as concetration or death camps, then that would be acceptable. However, Stevid has not intentionally killed or harmed anyone, so there is no problem. Many nations are not like you. The Imperial Shogunate is a dictatorship retaining the power to deport anyone we see fit. Political oppostion is forbidden. You cannot hope to spread your ideals to other nations. Also, Stevid is right in saying that you acted on emotion. Emotion has no place in politics. It will only make things worse, as we have almost seen.

"Now, Stevid has said that it will allow people to return once the threat is eliminated. We came here to see what we could do to resolve this issue. I think that this is very acceptable, don't you think? But, I will allow you the LAST refrence to military force, use it wisely." So were Yamamoto's words in response to the Stevid and Kanami delegations.

(OCC: I'm not bumping B/c Im impationt, I'm bumping so this post doesn't fall into the abysse. It was pretty close)

IC: Stevid, we understand that you are intittled to your national rights, but however this shows us great concern. I mean how do we know this won't result to death camps? I don't care how smart or clever a national government is, people do stupid things. Some of the worst things have been done with the best intentions. Now your MI-5 may provide you with some worthy intellegence, but we our selves have been gathering intelligence. [COLOR=Red]Centra Spike ,

our biggest source, and clasified mind you, but biggest source of intelligence has reveald some things. Profiteering, for one. Why are certain ageincies being paid off to forcefully deport people? And explain this intelligence gathering over a "cold spot" not known for any terrorist actvities. And why is cash pouring in, for often shoddy work?

Despite what you may say, terrorism is never going to go away. International, domestic, no matter what. I mean figure this, what if you spark an attack, and then you decide to place them all in concentration camps? Or Death Camps? There are better ways to fight terrorism, instead of deporting people, who don't deserve it. If I may read a quote from one of our nations PM. "Thoes who are willing to give up liberties for temporary safty, deserve nither liberty, nor safty." (OCC: Actually I took that from either from Ben Franklen or Thomas Jefferson I can't rember wich) And no matter how prosperus your nation is, doesn't mean it won't fall appart. Some of the most econmocially powerful nations have succumombed to Civil War or Revolution. How do you know that your people won't revolt? Even Kanami has seen a temporary flux in it's democratic Government. And sure enough a revolt happend. No matter how you sugar coat it, what you are doing is wrong, and it's only going to lead to disaster. Kanami will be more than willing to help if you just change your attitudes twoards this. For God's Sake man, think of the children! Think of the ones who will have your job one day. Do you want them to have to lead a stain on international polotics, and events? Or do you want someone to take your ideas and times them by ten, and creat a holocaust? Or would you much rather have some one lead your proud nation, into a prosperus, and bright future?

And one final note regarding Comabat: Fortunatley it seems like it is avoidable. But should this go completly wrong, and war is declared, heaven forbid, take note that Kanami posses no Nucluear Weapons, Chemical Weapons, or Bio-Weapons. Maybe all I'm doing is making us open to attack, but just remember, nuking a country that has no nukes, would not be looked upon favorably by the international comunity. And I should bet that no nation will say "we respect your soverignty enough, to nuke a nation with no nukes." Thank you, that will be my final refrence to combat.

"What is your take on this, Stevid? Basically, I'm thinking of saying for all militaristic forces to pack up and go home, and you two never interact again until refugees return. I can see no way in which we can resolve this for both sides to be happy." Yamamoto said. This whole thing was becoming extremely complex for him.

by Farnakley Admiral, I don't think we should end so soon. While it is apparnet that the debates are wrapped in a stale-mate, we have not really agreed to any terms here. I motion to end debate, and move into drafting procedurers for a treaty.

The Committeeman whispered to Conroy…

“They can’t do anything, military wise or democratically. They have to accept themselves doing nothing. We sign a non-aggression pact with them and withdraw the fleet from their waters. In return they do jack shit, they just stop protesting at us and stuff like that. If they want to stop us they can try, but they won’t.
We just stop deporting those who are left.”

“What do we do with them then?”
“Put them in prison, torture those who might be terrorists.”
“Torture, I wasn’t aware of that!”
“Nor does anyone in the world, and they never will… just stop deporting, give them a minor victory to try and gloat over… remember sir…. You’ve already won, the mass deportation ended before this conference has, this conference was about stopping the deportation and finding an alternative. We had to stall them long enough to complete the deportation and we’ve done that. We can pack up and go home now… and you’ve got yourself a place on the Committee when I retire.”

Conroy smiled and then stood for the first time in the whole conference.

“Stevid is more than willing to sign a treaty with Kanami about non-aggression pact. If it should be noted, we would draw up the plans for a pact in conjunction with Kanami’s ideas. Upon the signing of that the Royal Naval Task Force will be withdrawn.
We will end the minor deportations and will imprison those still in the country, they will be treated like any other petty thief or criminal-good food, good beds so on.

But the mass deportation ended before this conference will so it is no loss to us. Thank you.”

He sat down again awaiting the following response from the PP delegates ruling the conference.

“That’s it,” he said to the Committeeman. “All done.”

"This sounds good now," Admiral Yamamoto said. He snapped his fingers and a uniformed man stepped up with a paper. "I had this drafted on the off-chance that this would happen." He passed two copies to each side:

STEVID-KANAMI NON-AGGRESSION PACT

The nations off Stevid and Kanami shall be legally held to the following terms regarding aggression, military force, and national sovereignity:

1.Stevid shall withdraw its naval force.
2.All armed forces and their units from both sides, Kanami and Stevid, shall maintain at least 50 miles from each other at all times except when extenuating circumstances prevent this.
4.Neither nation shall make any show of aggression to the other, including but not limited to:
-Blockades
-Unwarented Tariffs
-Economic Embargos
-Threats
-Anything else resembling aggression.
5.Both nations shall respect the other's national sovereignty and right to carry out its own government and internal processes at all times.

Failure to comply with the above will bring penalties in proportion to the offense, to be carried out by the moderating nation of Pschycotic Pschycos and her allies, should they be availible.

Conroy raised his eye brows slightly and then lowered them.
He coughed lightly towards a nearby officer of the vessel to beckon him over.

"Could you bring me that paper dear dir? Thank you."

The officer walked swiftly over to the PP delegate and then returned with the treaty in his hand. Conroy took from him and read it over twice. He nodded and handed it back to the officer who then returned it to the delegation from whence it came.

Conroy stood up again and turned to the PP delegation.

"I see no unreasonable issues contained within those listed issues upon that treaty. I also assume that point two is excluded if Stevid and Kanami would ever fight alongside eachother as a coalalition force. So on behalf of Stevid we accept the treaty proposed by your delegation.

Kanami is pursuing peace and I assume they will sign... but as a sign of equal and mutual understanding, we shall sign it together.

Thank you Dear Sirs."

He sat down again and got himself comfatable once more.

Steven: No objections. Please exuse me before I sign, I would like to use the restroom.

Steven got up from the table, and walked down the narrow hall way, and into the tiled florcent lit room.

"Damn!" He was about ready to bust the place up but he felt that would be unwise at this junction. He never before felt like such a failure. Sure he prevented a raging war with a rather strong nation, but he failed to stop the Deportations. to stop the persecutions. It seemed no matter what fear and hate would prevail over justice, and tolerance. Perhaps he should have skiped the threats and went strait to declaring war. But he hadn't. Kanami had a fine economy and armed forces, but they never have ever waged a war before. The last major war was upon its founding, and that was on it's own soil, and the weapons we're much diffrent back then. He splashed his face with water, dried it and went back to the confrense room. Sitting down, he pulled out his pen, and signed his full name.

STEVEN J. KOOLRIDGE. The photographer snapped the whole thing. Steven put his pen away in his pocket and sat back in his chair, and waited.

"Looks a bit... well.... I wouldn't say angery but I wouldn't say happy."
Said Conroy to the Committeeman as he with drew is pen and clicked the top.

"Well, he has failed in the ultimate objective he set himself, but he's definitly gonna win the next election, he avioded war on a scale never before seen in Kanami. He's done very well for his country."

"Well good for him."

Conroy recieved the treaty given to him and signed his name on the line.

MR. DAVID MICHAEL CONROY

He passed it to the officer who sent it back to the Pschycotic Pschycos' delegates to sign.

He relaxed again in his seat knowing full well that his future in Stevid was about to become hugely better than it already was.

“Good morning. Today the on going conference moderated by the nation of Pschycotic Pschycos between Stevid and Kanami seems to be nearing an end. The conference that has been taking place on a super dreadnought at an undisclosed location has been looking like a peaceful agreement was about to be reached. It has been reported that Pschycotic Pschycos proposed a pre-drafted Non-aggression pact that was first signed by Kanami and then by Stevid safely securing the sovereignty of both nations and lifting the threat of attack from Kanami.
The Royal Naval Task Force in International waters that was sent there just after Kanami threatened Stevid with military action has constantly but silently threatened Kanami. On par with the first article of the treaty, this Task Force has to be with drawn from international waters than neighbours Kanami. We will go live to the Type- 45 Destroyer HMS Dandelion with an update shortly.

Kanami signed the agreement as well without hesitation, it was seen by them as a sort of win and lose situation, both sides seem to have lost and gained something out of this.

Right then we will go to the Dandelion now and speak to Robert Collins who is our representative there at the moment.
Hello Robert?”
“Yes hello?”
“Robert could you talk us through what has been happening there at the moment and during the conference?”
“Yes, it has been quite an apprehensive atmosphere here on the Dandelion and on the ships here as well. If can just pan the camera over towards the HMS Catholic which is Stevid’s own Super Dreadnought,”

The camera pan to the right looking at the enormous vessel that seemed to dominate the seas that surrounded it. It was a wonderful sight to behold, the sixth biggest Super Dreadnought in the world had never fire in anger or defence, this time it nearly did.

“That is un-mistakably a Super Dreadnought. The HMS Catholic has been at extended readiness or Yellow Alert since this whole ordeal had started. We’ve been told that it has used all it’s equipment to scan the Kanamian coastline looking for potential targets to destroy as soon as they were given the word to fire. We know that they had locked TLAMs on strategic targets and other missile but we definitely know that the Trident nuclear missiles and Stevidian Fire-God nuclear missiles, were not armed and were not to be launched. So as you can see they have been waiting ready to do anything.
But they have been watching the whole conference over video phone and have been praying for peace, so now it seems that they are ready for the off now that they are no longer needed."
“So your saying relief has set over the fleet?”
“Yes, the first six ships sent were because of deterrence, but all that seemed to change when the two Albion Amphibious Assault Carriers arrived on the scene, conflict here looked inevitable. But now the talks have led to peace there is a great amount of relief around the whole fleet.”
“So does that mean the fleet is setting sail now and is standing down or will they wait?”
“Well the HMS Catholic, if it were to leave now at top speed would remain in range of Kanami for another three hours and the Type-45’s stay with it all the way providing air defence, the Type-88 cruisers provide anti-sub and anti- surface defence for the Catholic. So it is likely that they are going to set sail now, extended readiness has been lifted from all vessels apart from the HMS Catholic as well.
“Robert Collins, thank you very much.
And we’ll keep you updated on the final reaches of the conference as they come our way.”

Allie: Good Evening, after days of intenses negotiations, and debates
The Kanami-Stevid Diplomatic Show Down, has come to a close. Peacefully. A breif sum of the summit, from our field reporter tells us both countries shared their views on the issue of the religous deportations, and often got at eachothers throats. The Grand Admiral of the Nation of Psychotic Pscyhos, was about ready to call a stalemate, and tell both parties to go home. Prime Minister Koolridge motiond to go into drafitn procudeers for a treaty. The Grand Admiral already had a Non-Agression Pact draft, adn Kanami accpeted w/o opposition. And according to Roger, the PM was NOT happy.
Roger is currently at home with his familey tonight. But in the studio tonight we have the Prime Minister himself, to discuss the events. PM Koolridge thanks for joining us.

Steven: Happy to be here.

Allie: This is the end, of a long frustrating month. You have followed this from the begining, told Stevid off, it even came to the point where you two we're about to declare war on eachother. Then of course you both settled, and agreed to diplomacy. How do you think the meeting went?

Steven: Well the Parliment has called it three things. One is a Failure, the other a Sucess, and some call it a Sucessful-Failure. Me I see it as a filure.

Allie: Why is that?

Steven: Well the whol point of us becoming agressive with this issue, was to stop it, and make the Government to realize it's faults. I mean despite Stevid's Rich history, no matter what you can't ask their Government or any Gov. to be infoulable, you just can't, but you can ask it to be accountable. And Stevid refused to accept true acountablity for thier actions. They stalled me out, so they could finish their agenda, and they did. I failed to stop that agenda.

Allie: So what kept you from immediately declaring War?

Steven: well you see Allie, this whole time we we're walking the fine line between national Soverignty, and Human Rights. Two major diplomatic issues when you face international polotics. Especially this kind of poltical action. Declaring war strait out to me, seemed like a bad idea. And Stevid's arsonal, gathered by the Kanami CIA, showed what we would be up against.

Allie: This really affected Kanami's status in the worlds views, isn't that correct?

Steven: Indeed. Virtually every nation that adressed Stevid disaporved of their actions, but respected thier Soverignty. Thier International Freedom. But we, saw this as a violation of all human rights, and we became agressive. Like i said it's tricky when you are walking that fine line between freedom, and human rights.

Allie: How do you think this will affect Kanami's influence in the World.

Steven: Well I don't know right away. For all I know we could be the laughing stock of the World and the U.N. or we could be seen as the great liberator. You see this is why I'm upset that all we ended with was a NAP, b/c to me it seems like we will lose our influence in the world. And our founding mother wanted Kanami to be a shining influence in international issues. Even if the world doesn't agree with us. What's right is right, that was her motto.

Allie: So why did you just end with an NAP?

Steven: IT was like you said, we were pretty much in a stalemate debate. Nither of us we're winning. We would gain and then lose the upper hand. I felt no more point to draw it out any longer. In a worse case scenario we would have gone to war.

Allie: What if it had? What would be the intative?

Steven: Well we didn't devise a combat stratagey, but the initative would have been to go in, arrest the Prime Minister of Stevid and his Cabinet, and bring them before a tribunal, for crimes against humantie, or otherwise would be known as "violation of human rights."

Allie: Does this mean you'll think twice before becoming agressive with a nation?

Steven: Maybe yes maybe no. I doubt I'll run for re-election, so it'll be up to the future Prime Minister.

Allie: What do you think Stevid's future will hold?

Steven: Kind of hard to say. I mean I hope Stevid's future will be bright, and people of that nation will look back on that with shame. As a nation would if it did slavery, or genocide. And I hope the nation will come out of it's darkness and be the shining nation it once was. I'd be awful if it would forver dwell in the darkness. I hope poltical stablity will maintain, and the country won't fall apart. I think Stevid's Government is kind of cocky in that way, they are so confident that the people won't uprise and revolt, or anything else of that nature. It's happend to the strongest of nations. The Queendom of Aqua Anu, one of our allies went on the brink of revolution. I hope Stevid will in time, allow the deported to come back, b/c I know there are thoes who want to return to their home. Many of thoes people are refugees here.

Allie: So if Stevid we're to collapse would you help?

Steven: (chuckle) yeah that's the biggie question. I mean with all that has happend the question is "Why should we?" but then again with Kanami's principals, and what we stand for the question comes "why should we NOT?"
We'll find out.

Allie: What are your final thoughts?

Steven: Well we did our best, but our best wasn't good enough. I'm not going to win any popularity contests, but I'm rather disapointed in the international comunity. I'm disapointed at the fact that they would rather watch the injustice, and let it play it's self out, instead of trying to make the world a better place. Rather than encourage the furtherment of democracy. I know not everynation is democratic, but there are democratic nations out there. The way I see it is when you see these things you can do two things: You can either help, or sit back and watch a country destroy it's self on NGNN. Apathy is what is going to get us all killed. I'm disapointed in Stevid's Government, the fact they would shatter a fragile deomcracy for temporary safty, when there are better ways to do it. I'm disapointed in my self, for not stoping this. They work so hard to look you in the eye, and rationalize what they are doing is right, and everyone else is wrong. I'm sad to see that fear and hate, prevails over justice and tolerance. May God help us all.

Allie: Thank you. That was Prime Minister Steven Koolridge, on the recent events. Well time will only tell what is going to happen. But Kanami's plocey hasn't been totally rejected. In Carmina Gadalica, refugess and religous congergations have gathered for a candle light vidual, to thank the Prime Minister for his efforts to put them back home.

Woman Demostrator: My Family and I we're forced from our home in Stevid, and Kanami welcomed us with open arms.

Civil Rights Activist: What was done was a great injustice to everyone. And the Prime Minister was the only one with Guts in this world to stand up for what he belived in, and say what they we're doing was wrong! Good for you Mr. Koolridge.

Allie: However not everyone was so accepting

Roger More IV: SHAME ON YOU MR. KOOLRIDGE, FOR FIGHTING THIS FICTIOUS BATTLE!

Allie: Well tune in tomorrow for "KBNN Presents" A special bordacast about the Kanami-Stevid Showdown, from start to finish. Good night evryone.

The parties' choppers flew away, back to their own ships while the two admirals stood on the deck of the Island. Silence held over the deck for a while, but was broken by Starwin, "what's your take on this sir?"
"Well, Kanami is going to think they lost, and Stevid is thinking they won. In reality, it is just a big stalemate. All we did was stop a war."
"What was your position on it, if you don't mind me asking."
Yamamoto sighed and stared out over the water toward the setting sun. The sun was burning red, and the light turned the water a field green, relfecting the colors of the flag. Finally he spoke again, "I don't know. On the one hand, what a nation does inside itself is no one else's business. On the other hand, I do think it was a human rights violation. But....we would be out of place intervening while there was no intentional violence."
"So...what'll happen from here?"
"I think we'll stay here for a day or so, make sure no one comes back to try to start a fight, and then we'll head home."
"Do you think the Shogun will back your signiture on the treaty? Would we really step in and punish the aggressor?"
"You know me fairly well, and you know my history. The Shogun's family has trusted me since our founding. I don't think Lord Heero would dishonor his family as such. Besides, we do get along anyway. Despite 'Advisor' not actually being a government position really, I think he'll honor my signiture."
"Well, that's good to know."
The water lapped at the side of the hull, echoing slowly across the metal superstructures and the surrounding waters as the sun painfully settled herself below the horizon.

Conroy walked down the polished Oak floor of the corridor and approached the still gleaming door labelled “Committee Room”. Thrice he has entered this room, twice it was for good reasons, once for a bad one but this time was different. It wasn’t just going to be a good meeting; it would be a fabulous meeting. He had received a letter only three hours ago that made his face light up in delight.
The man who was with him at the conference had retired as he said and he had also said he would bring Conroy’s name to the Committee when they were going to choose another Wiseman. The letter was from the Committee accepting him into their ranks, the first PM still in office to be admitted into the Committee as a Wiseman. The letter wrote:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/d/d1/IAO-logo.png/225px-IAO-logo.png

Dear Mr. D M Conroy,

On behalf of the Wiseman’s Committee you have been accepted as the right candidate for the job of replacing Mr. R T Ferison as a member of the Committee. The sir mentioned was one of great importance and was also the one who brought your name forward to the committee as a possible successor and in doing so is your sort of benefactor towards this job. You have been given the greatest honour one can ever hope to receive from this country since you have proven yourself admirably in the face of danger, work, and politics and so have grabbed the attention of a member of the Committee. The address is enclosed, when you receive this mail destroy it and meet at the address in three hours exactly. From there we will discuss your future with us.

Yours Sincerely
Stevid Wiseman’s Committee

He was overwhelmed when he got it and so far had followed their instructions to the letter, he was thirty seconds early. And on the dot of three elapsed hours he knocked on the door of the Committee.

“Come in Prime Minister! Come in!” said a voice.

Never had the PM ever heard a jolly voice come from the room of doom, it was always a solemn greeting or some sort of noise that would usually accept entrance into the room.
Conroy entered the room, it was the same as always, leather chairs, smoke hanging in the air like a toxic cloud, a flag pole with the Stevidian flag dangling from it. Old artistic pictures hanging from the walls and a small trolley with glasses of Scotch, Brandy, Port and other assorted wines and beverages.

“Sit down in the empty seat David please.”
Conroy did so and also shock to hear his first name mentioned by these men of all people.
“Thank you.” He truthfully said as he lowered himself down.
“A drink dear sir? I’m afraid we haven’t installed a proper minibar with a barman so Guiness isn’t on the list.”
“Napoleon Brandy then I suppose.”
“Good! Good! Oh, politeness is still improved of but remember you don’t need to choose your words carefully now that your one of us!”
He handed the PM a small glass of the Brandy and settled himself down.

“Look David, now that you’re one of us your going to be making decisions that are actually going to make a difference in Stevid. You are a very privileged man and a one of a kind Wiseman. You see you’re the first person who has become a member of the Committee and is the puppet ruler of the country, a puppet and the puppeteer, one chance in seven that. Very unusually we choose people like that, but your performance on the Capital Ship Island inspired us that you really are the man for the job. Ferison said that you handle the negotiations without help from him, you have displayed the knowledge and wisdom required to join our ranks.”

“Uhh, well thanks. Say now I’m part of you does that mean that I have to stay here the whole time or…?”
“No. You see now that the PM himself is now a Wiseman we also have are most confident and respected mole in the puppet government. You also now have at least some control over the country… you now have your say.”

Conroy gulped down his Brandy in one go.

“Well, I say it is a considerable promotion, I know the pay is considerable- perhaps even more than the home secretary’s.” He looked to his right where the Home Secretary was sitting who gave a small wave of recognition. “I’m overwhelmed I must say. Anyway I better be off, I’m sure you all heard about the Red File Cabinet story, well I better get cracking on that…. Oh and one more thing, when will we be letting the other religions back into Stevid?”
“Give or take six months… yeah six months.”
“What about Red Cell?”
“Oh please… they’ve been extinct for years. Red Cell presents no real threat, anyway get back to work.”

Conroy walked out of the room giving his thanks, he knew his prospects in this life were extremely great now although in his head he kept going over the conference before stepping into the lift. It clicked into place when the doors closed behind him in the lift.
“What did we REALLY gain out of that bloody conference? …No matter, they gained jack shit anyway. I wonder if the Committee knew that?” The doors opened and he stepped outside and walked towards his private car safe in knowing the Stevid had done well and now actually had, for the first time since the founding, a leader with power.
