100 million milestone hit!
The national census indicates Wingarde has surpassed the 100 million population threshold. Government officials proud of the achievement.
The recent sensus has proved our beloved country is growing rapidly, both economically and demographically. "It seems only yesterday that we became an independent nation, and now our population charts are sporting three digits!" A cheerful passer-by commented to our reporters. It is indeed a remarkable achievement, especially because most of the nations in the Pacific are now considerably small compared to Wingarde.
The economy is also flourishing as the ever-growing amount of workforce helps the development of the local industries. Unemployment is at an all-time low (7.54%) and the citizenry is generally happy about the country, paying acceptable taxes (22%) to a government that really cares about the rest of society. All in all, the future is bright for the Democratic States of Wingarde. We interviewed the president, Hermann Jakob himself, for his opinion about the country's current status.
"Put simply, Wingarde is better than ever. International relations are constantly improving, the economy is on the rise and the people are happy. What else could a president want? I believe we could not have done this without the cooperation of our local citizens and some foreign countries. I will do my best to ensure this prosperity endures much longer."
