The First UIE Open Flag Competition

Brought to you by The reagon of the LESSSER ANTILLES

UIE DRINKPOP CO. the Cola of Gods.

So you think your flag's good, eh?

This is an announcement to begin the First UIE Open Flag Competition, open for any country to enter. The Winner of the exciting new award will win $1,000,000 to be given to the country's largest charity, as well as four more categories to have a prize of $500,000 to their largest charity.
To enter, simple reply to this thread with your country's name, as well as a description of your flag if desired. The judges will then decide on a winner in the following categories:

Best overall Flag: $1,000,000

Best simple colour design (eg France): $500,000

Best complex colour design (eg Greece): $500,000

Best flag with graphics (eg Uruguay, Bhutan): $500,000

Best moving flag: $500,000

The winner will announced on Wednesday.

I believe a flag should be meaningful, but simple enough to be drawn from memory.

The Orange in the centre represents the people of Jonny Rules, and how they are the most important part of our great nation. The arrows at the side represent myself, and that although I am sometimes sharp and prodding, I mostly sit to the side and let people live how they want. The blue parts represent that our nation is flanked to the North and South by ocean.

On the Flag of KarmanyakaThe flag is black with two purple bands on either side of it. Set in the middle is the red "Flame of Katla", the ancient symbol of the dragon Katla who dwells in the volcano named after her. Black is the traditional colour of the Knight's class who has ruled Karmanyaka for ages. Purple is the colour of the Lord Tengil, the chief of the Knights and the formal ruler. He rules with the consent of the Dragon Katla. The flag is also taken, by some groups, to display the flame of knowledge, lighting up the darkness of the continent of Klatch. Recent political events has displayed the idea that the flame symbolizes democracy and enlightenment in the hands of the people which is the red of the flame, and that the purple is the blood spilt by the people in the struggle for freedom. However, this angle has gotten little recognition from the vexillological community.

By the way, who are the judges? And what will they look for in a winning flag?

As you can see, unlike some people (whose names I shall not mention), I keep my flags to the required size limits.

There is no given size limit of the flag itself, as long as the file is no larger than 10 KB. Just because the default flags are a certain size doesn't mean the custom ones have to be.

And if I want a bigger flag than the default ones, I will jolly well have one thankyou very much.

Here is the Druidan flag, one we are pretty proud of. It is just simple stripes, but as there are eight of them, we wonder if this would be classed as simple of complex. We think it is pretty simple.

Note that there is a while stripe on the end next to the yellow stripe. The white background doesn't show this up very well, though.
