Craykon

OOC: This is my first attempt at an FT Nation. I knowit's young, only 20 million people...but I wanted to give it a slight background. The Craykons are a species created by Humans, and eventually exiled into space. Since, they've forgotten their space faring history, building a Religion around it instead, and are only now rediscrovering their past.
t's kind of inspired by a book (if you can guess it, you get a cookie), the game Homeworld (I love it), and my favorite RPG, Morrowind. Kind of.

Ancient Reverence, Surmon
And it was said, that after the Anciant Ones harnessed their arcane and menevolant wisdom,(1) that they lost their ability to give themselves into the next generation. Desperate to bring their seed into the morning,(2) the Prophet Admone brought together all of the Greater Species of the World; and with His seed they all gathered in a circle.
(3)From all of their wombs, Crayk was born. He was a pure creature, with the body of a man, eyes which glowed like the sea, blemish free skin that neither scarred nor sagged with age. With the feats that Crayk accomplished in Might and Intelligence, Admone admired His Child, and soon begot many more.(4) So full of children was His house that many were sang to sleep, while only a few were awoken to perform the tasks of Admone.
Crayk rose above all to be true, in practice and in deed. So Great was his Passion for knowledge that he surprised the Ancient Admone, and Admone was waned. So frightful of Crayk the Ancient Ones were, that they brought upon him three tests.
The Great Deeds.
The First Test was one of Might, where he smote the greatest Warriors of the Ancients. He wrote upon their bodies the testimony of Faith, and it read,
"Bring to Me the greatest you have, and those who may join me will know true Faith. Those who forsake me will share the Warrior's Fate."
The Second Test was one of Skill, with the fall of the Ancient's Warriors, they then besieged the Great House of Admone, which was home to Crayk and his Brothers, and his Sisters. Cut off from the whole of the World, he devised a way of survival. He lived for three years and one quarter without suffering from thirst. He flourished through four more years without knowing hunger. He withstood time without seeing death in His halls.
Upon the Seventh Year the Siege was lifted, and He sent out word to the Ancient Ones, and it read,
"Those who oppose Me will know only Barriers from the Truth. You shall see only the bricks and mortar that seperate you, and keep you in fear."
The Third Test was that of Trials, the Ancient Admone, throughout all the years of teaching, and then servitude, grew deranged and mad, he was flawed. Turning to the other Ancient Ones, he shackled Crayk, and thus, the Betrayel of Him, and His Brothers, and His Sisters.
Crayk said unto his former Master/Slave,
"You bare upon me the scar of lies, that which I had never known. Forever fortified shall my heart be from you, and all those who forsake me. Your lies will suffer greatly the penalty of uncertainty."
After the Third Test, Crayk and His Brothers, and His Sisters, were brought to stand before the Ancient Ones.(5) The Sleeping Ones were undisturbed, and their livelyhood remained entact. The Brothers of Sisters of Crayk were now known only as Craykons, as only Crayk Himself acknowleged his Bloodkin.
As the Great Conflicts died and the hatred of the Craykons died with it, the (6)Benevolent Ancient Ones, Beotha, Hynro, and Dah'vihd, spoke their words louder than that of the Hating Ancients. Touching the hearts of the Great Judges, they offered Crayk, and his Brothers, and His Sisters, a(7) Hand in the Sky. There, under the Covenant, the now Wise Craykons built a great vessel to take the Sleeping Ones, and themselves, across the Black Sky and to the New Home.
Anotation:
Although the Book of Ancient Reverance is flawed in many ways, it tells, roughly, the ascension of Our People. From the grasp of the "Ancient Ones," to Our fair Planet, Crase.
The "Ancient Ones" are largely considered myth, although the Religious believe tham to appear much as we do, only inferior to us. It is not known where they (and subsequently, we) come from, but it is believed to be further than we may travel. Although, the "Great Relic", which was the ship that carried us across the stars, has in fact, been found in the Greater Deserts of Ark'han...which shatters popular belief of myth and legend. Studies are being conducted to provide further details of the ships' origin.
1: "they lost their ability to give themselves into the next generation." Simply put, the "Ancient Ones" (Humans), grew to the pinnacle of their social morality. And as such, they saw it as beneath them to produce as animals do. Ironically, to bring forth the next "generation," they used their own genes, as well as the genes of many animals, to create the Craykons.
2: Dr. Admon Muhammad, the Scientist who created Crayk, taught him the ways of the world, became shadowed by Crayk's intelligence, and eventually betrayed Crayk, and the Craykons.
3: Although Dr. Muhammad, nor any of the species he colelcted for the creation of Crayk, never actually gave birth, he did splice his own genes, and the genes of the selected speices together. And created Crayk. "Womb" is used to cover up the fact that Crayk, and the entire First Generation of Craykons, were simply test-tube babies.
4: There were only 100 Craykons that were actually taken from their "tubes" in order to preform tests, by Dr. Muahammad. The rest were kept in embryotic form, only to be developed upon arriving at Crase.
5: Only the 100 Craykons that were "awake" were actually at the trial. The rest were left as was. By this time, no one claimed responsibility for the Craykons, not even their creator. So Crayk himself took up the role of leader...and sponsored himself as a God of the Craykons. Thus the Religion of Crayk we see today.
6: The "Benevolent Ones" as they were, Beatrice Rogers, Hyrino Hagasaki, and David Balinsk, were three of the Jduges appointed for the Trial, which swayed the judgement, turning it to Exile, instead of Extermination.
7:"Hand in the Sky" was an old Orbital Dock, where the Craykons, given the tools and resources, and many more awoken "Sleepers" built the armada which brought them to Crase. It took almost one-hundred years to build the 12 vessels. Not a single ship, as said in the Sermon.
