This is a signup thread for a vampire Rp idea myself and Gaeltach have come up with.

The Setting

Modern times in the city of Kilasser in Southern Gaeltach. There is grown tension up north with thier neighbor. Humans have no idea of the existance of vampires, spare for hunters. The city vampires either live on the street, but most live secret coven hidden in the forests.

Run down of storyline

My character is living in Kilasser after moving from the Golden Simatar. Though, after moving there, he encoutnered a vampire *Gaeltach's char* though oblvious to this fact; he found out after a while and became a blood donor. After feeding on my char Gael's vampire feels a bit strange and the vampire is able to get some more blood from him for testing.

Due to a blood diease that affected his family around a century ago, his blood is not completely normal. After refinment and chemical mixing, the vampires begin to discover that the human's blood could be used to allow them to move out in the sunlight or at least be a bit more resistant. The more the vamp drinks the stronger they get, but the effect does not last for more than a day or two.

A human hunter one day spots my char and sees a bite mark on his wirst/neck or whatever and grabs him. Hunters try to protect him and use him for traps and hunting vampires. They do not realize the now sudden importance he has to the vampires. Not until about half way through the Rp when they notice the vampires are abnormally strong and when they figure out his importance...lots of fun battles to come.

Other stuff

Essentally, that is just to point everyone in the directing myself and Gael want the Rp to go. So, everyone can flesh out thier chars and fill in the gaps as they want. There should be a realivitly equal vampire-human ratio. Strictly humans and vampires, but if you wanna ask about another kind of creature...it will be looked at.

Also, if you are gonna do a vampire..don't make them all ancients. Respectible ages, so like anywhere from fresh turn to maybe 500-700 hundred years old or whatever. It can be figured out later.

Also, the hunters do not find the location of the coven during the Rp..unless it is decided that it could move the story. One last thing, UV does not hurt vampires in this Rp. Like Assington's Assington Vampire Saga, silver does the main hurt besides sunlight.

I think that is enough for right now. More will come later.

Since most of you are good Rpers, I don't think I need to elaborate on that tidbit and good Rping skills such as no godmods and such. But, please post char stats up here. Will be easier for Gael and myself to figure out who is in.

Biography:A relatively young vampire hailing from the Ravnos clan, Judas Lasorsa was born in an area well known for werewolf and vampire activaty. IN actuality, he was born in the midst of a war. Werewolves eventually overcame their enemies and murdered most of Judas's family; Judas escaped, but not before he vowed a personal vendetta against the werewolf race.

Since that time, Judas has become a wandering vagabond who drifts from one vampire society to the next, working as a soldier of fortune. Currently, he has found a temporary home in the forests of Gaeltach, where he helps fight against Vampire Hunters.

(I can probably think up a lot more than this, but I'm tired, so this is all yer getting.)

Have to check this out with Gael, but the vampire type is your average looking human who happens to be pale and drinks blood etc. So...no Buffy 'bumpy foreheads'.

Malkavians are human looking vampires, no hiddious disfirgerments like Nosferatu. The only thing is they're insane.

The Malkavians are insane, one and all. From madness, however, comes wisdom, and from wisdom comes power. The Malkavians are true creatures of chaos. However, the Malkavians are also known to be clowns and pranksters. As with all things connected with them, not everything makes sense.

This clan is infamous for its destructive and nihilistic members. Malkavians have a reputation for sadistic behavior and for holding little grasp of the humanity they still retain. In truth, such Malkavians are a minority. The members of this clan regularly surprise the Kindred; often they do not seem insane. Some Kindred believe the Malkavians have an undeserved reputation, and have been sullied by a few truly psychotic members. However, remember that sometimes the most normal-seeming people have the least grasp on reality.

Meh, mabey I used the wrong word. "Illusionistic" as in...mind tricks, I guess would be a good word for it? Dissolving, Hypnotism, transforming, that sort of thing.

And I don't really care if my charachter has the ability to transform, but I wouldn't really mind, either.

Ah, one more thing: A Ravnos looks just like a human as well. Ravnos are a bit like the rouges of the Vampire world: They do whatever they want, when they want to.

Ravea...forgot to ask. If your vampire is seventy...how could he be around in the 13th Century? Unless he was turned at that age.

He's not. He is, however, thirteenth Generation, the 13th decendent of an original vampire.

Most vampires are usually around 12th to 14th generation. Powerful, but not compared to elder vampires.

Weapons: Two PX-1 caseless pistols, G36 Rifle, numerous knives concealed about his person, Two wrist blades
Appearance: 6' 2", long brown hair, lithe and well built, green eyes

Biography: Kreoss was changed at the age of twenty just before the war that resulted in the formation of Menoth. Finding an outlet for his new powers and bloodlust he fought in the war, as a vampire, and enjoyed great success. However at the end of the war, with no more excuse for his blood lust, he left his anscestral home and wandered about the world, looking for work as a mercenary and trying to keep himself safe from vampire hunters.

Despite his hundreds of years as a vampire he has managed to keep a strong moral code, and it still pains him to kill without reason. Even as a mercenary he has only joined causes he thought worth fighting for.

Most recently he has arrived in Kilasser, Gaeltach, and is currently making his home in the basement of an abandoned warehouse and is attempting to find the vampire society that inhabits the area.

So far I'm liking what I see. The Malkavian should throw an interesting twist into the story, I think. I'll post my bio for reference, but will probably edit later. It's 4am, and I just got back from work so cut me some slack.

Weapons: 2 small daggers concealed at her wrists and a Beretta.
Appearance: 5'5", feminine athletic build, long raven hair and steel gray eyes.

Bio: Sionan grew up in Gaeltach until her sire turned her at the age of 26. But with the growing turmoil and unrest in the country, she realized that to expose her secret was to invite a swift and permanant death. And there was no shortage of watchers for anything out of the ordinary.

Eventually, she fled the city of Kilasser with several other fledglings to start a hidden coven. Acceptance was selective, since no one could fully be trusted. Over time, the dynamics of the coven changed. Naturally, the elders among them rose to positions of power, while a few of the fledglings found themselves in positions of influence. Sionan was among these. They became a sort of advisor to the upper echelon.

Very recently, tensions in the north finally erupted into isolated cases of violence, and the watches had mostly been called away to help deal with it. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before an all-out war finally broke out. And with less people to moniter the daily (and nightly) life in Kilasser, the coven was able to hunt a little more freely. Organized parties were assembled, and the logistics carefully planned to avoid revealing their existance to an unready populace.

On a hunt one evening, she encountered the man who would come to be a voluntary donor. An unlikely and mutual friendship ensued, and such has it been ever since. While jealousy from the others of her coven was not readily apparant, she was certain the issue would come up sooner or later. But for the time being, why not take advantage of a good thing?

Thanks, just to make sure I don't miss out on the main discussions, although, as I haven't played on Vampire: The Masquerade. Although I have watched the Francis Ford Cuppola version of Dracula, which was quite a good film. It's pretty funky when Dracula turns into the giant bat thing and then the swarm of rats. What was most interesting, was the explanation of how he became a vampire at the begining, especially the fall of Constantinople bit, as one of my main interests is Byzantine history, what my nation is vaguely moded on. Oh, sorry, rather off topic there...

Coppola's Dracula...did not like it very much, though Gary Oldman did a damn good job at the role. Personally, I think the twist in Dracula 2000 (which I won't say here and possibly spoil it) did probably a better job at the whole Dracula creation thing.

Bio: Joshua’s father was a successful businessman working for Lander Mining Consolidated in the Golden Simatar; his mother worked as a high school teacher in the city. Spending some afternoons after school with his father, he grew a taste for business and the urge to succeed. Though he also proved himself in high school drama class to be great at acting, he did not pursue drama or art and instead wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps.

Graduating high school a year early at 17, he promptly applied to Karnotz University and after four years got his Bachelors in economics. Soon after he graduated, his parents went through a messy divorce and his mother committed suicide after the event while his father moved to the capitol of Clarence to start fresh.

Crushed by the loss of his parents, he sold off much of his property, though kept many of his old stocks and those he got from his mother in her will, and gave up a promising position in LMC. He settled in Kilasser when he was twenty-two and took a job as manager of a book, movie, and music store. One night after hanging out in a pub with a few friends he was walking to the metro station when he encountered a strange woman named Sionan. Later, he found out that she was a vampire; after the initial shock and fainting several times, he became her donor.

Besides being probably one of the few humans to know of the existence of vampires and being fed on everyone once in a while; his life has gone on pretty much the same.

Actually, saying that, waht I didn't like was when the Keanu Reeves character arrives at the castle, and Dracula is wearing a that weird red robe, and has a dodgey hair cut. And his shadow was doing other stuff. It's like the Simpsons one. I've only red the begining of the book, and that is not what you'd expect from a late Victorian lord, even if he is 600 years old and foreign.

Yeaa, The Simpsons pisstake of that was funny. Especially when the shadow was playing with a yo-yo, the sort of thing a Malkavians shadow would do if it could move on its own :D

Have you see the Simpsons version of the Shining? I thought that wrting all over the walls was more effective than that part in the real Shining.

Bio:

A very young vampire and still relatively inexperienced. Jacen hails from a small Malkavian clan known for following the orders of the voices in their heads. Jacen however decided to cut loose from the others and go into the world alone, the voice in his head had told him so.

Somehow the road led him to Kilasser and a new place opened up before him. Jacen does seem out of place compared to other vampires, a fact he knows all to well and actually enjoys. He can at times appear eccentric and often plays practical jokes on others, vampire or human.

As a young vampire, he is still learning and is always trying to learn more.

Urgh, down to work after all my off-topicness:

My idea for a character was this bloke needs some cash to get a plane ticket back to his home country (minor detail, though). Therefore he's taken the first job that caught his eye in a paper/shop window. Vampire hunter's assistant. Not quite believing what it means, as he's from an area where Vampires only exist in stories, he takes the fairly well paid job, thinking it easy cash, working for some nutter until he gets enough money together. And he's proved quite wrong.

Okay everyone, seems like we have a good solid base to start the Rp from. Might start today or tomorrow. Since there are so few humans...I will be Rping a hunter or two to balance it out. I will put up char info later.

Also, don't know what Gael will say...but for those who have Rped with me or seen an Rp I have helmed know I am a huge gore and horror fan so...a few of my posts have like somthing from Lucio Fulci, Jess Franco, or Ruggero Deodato.

But...since this is probably will be more tame than other horrors...I will rein in my violence. But that doesn't mean there won't be a gore moment or two. :)

Is it strictly a human verses vamp affair? I was thinking of have my character recently bitten by what he thinks was a large dog (werewolf, of course) when he was getting to Kilasser to find a job. Just another surprise in store for him when he finds out that this job won't be a bit of easy money.

Nikoli began his life on a simple farm in central Gaeltach, but due to financial problems, his parents was forced to sell the farm and leave him at the orphanage in Kilasser. It was not a plesant up bringing; he had to fight for just about everything. But by the time he was 7 he had even the old childrens respect do to his talent in combat. he ran from the orphanage a year after, and wound up on the doorstep of a martial arts academy. the master at the academy found him and took him in as his own. Nikoli quickly became the master's protoge. At the age of 18, he defeated his master and left the academy.

Nikoli wound up being arrested for killing a man in a bar room brawl. he was approached by a man, Markus Takk. the man was impressed with Nikoli's skill for killing. He said that he could get Nikoli off, in excange for his services once he was free. Nikoli agreed, and so became an assasin.

Right, here is my human hunter...this should balance everything nicely:

Karl grew up an only child of a single parent. His mother had left him and his father shortly after he turned five. His father cared for his son and tried to get him a good education and send him to college. Though, as soon as he finished high school at 18; he joined the Marines where he served till he was twenty-nine before retiring and joining Lander Mining Consolidated as a security guard of one of their overseas mines. During his two years with them, he was attacked by a vampire, but managed to escape being drained when he rammed hid K-Bar into the vampire’s throat. After this and studying the vampire’s twitching body, it began to dawn on him that vampires really existed.

Leaving LMC shortly afterward, he began to hunt vampires. His first few attempts were clumsy and nearly led him to be caught by several law enforcement agencies. Getting rid of much of his identification, Karl now lives wherever he can and hopes from city to city and country to country.

He has devoted his life to eradication of vampires.

oh oh oh yes yes yes. My character killed someone you cared for dearly. drained them dry. wouldn't really suprise me, she's killed quite a few along with hesione. XD even though she has changed now, it would be nice tio have someone trying to kill me.

Grew up around the docks, and by the age of 16 was already both interested in the occult, and on the run from the law. Has travelled widely but never been able to hold down a steady job. Now, after playing assassin, mercenary, merchant and pirate, he's decided to try his hand at vampire-hunting. He saw many in his childhood, and quickly became adept at dealing with them. Tends to be blunt, and ready to switch allegiances at the flick of a coin - preferably a gold coin.

@ Tag: The werewolf stuff, how strongly will this be affecting him? As long as we don't have a full-fledged werewolf running around it could add some dimensionality. Let me know what you're thinking here.

I'm reallynot sure on the werewolf count to be honest. On the one hand, it probably won't be anything too serious, ie it'll give him a chance to pick himself up after being knocked about by vampires, but on the other I'm really not sure as to how to go about it.

Well, most of you know Archer. I'll repost him here anyhow.

Name: Archer (First name only given to good friends, proffesionally known as Archer)
Profession: Vampire expert and occasional slayer. Takes jobs from vampires on vampires and is familiar with the society.
History: Comes from a family of vampire slayers, his family was killed by one vampire who had grown a resistance to the usual weaknesses of the vamperic nature. Ever since then he has been developing "inventive" new ways to kill them. After his family died he was found by another vampire who was a rival of his families killer, and he was introduced to the vamperic underworld. He doesn't have anything against vampires save one particular vampire, it's just a job. He would rather have the vamperic world balanced than dead, it would be bad for business.
Appearance: Average height with a long coat hiding many of his tools in trade. Irish accent, having lived there in his ealier years.

Since the numbers are balanced, and another half vampire would be too cliche', I think my character could treat the vampire slayers much like the vampires. If a slayer happens to take a contract on a vampire Archer is familiar on then he'd have no qualms about hunting the slayer in return. I was leaning my character towards occasionally hunting both sides anyway.

Weapons: A single, battered Colt Anaconda .44, picked up in a pawn shop, just in case he met any trouble on his round the world trip. A couple of knives, as well.
Appearance: 6' 1", 190 pounds. Brown eyes, brownish hair. Clothes a bit battered from a round-the-world trip.
History: Coming from a lower-middle class family in Tagmatium's second city of Petrium, he did nothing out of the ordinary. Once he had graduated from University, he took a gap year and trekked around the world, staying long enough in places to get enough money together to carry on. Once Alexius had arrived in Gaeltach, he made for the city of Kilasser, hoping to find a plane back home. He suffered a fall, breaking an ankle. The treatment cost him his savings for the flight home, so once he had sufficently recovered, he had to start looking for another job. Spotting an advert saying "Vampire hunter's assistant", Alexius took it, expecting an easy job working for some slightly crazy old man, as he had never encountered vampires before. They weren't an issue in Tagmatium.

Name: Archer (First name only given to good friends, proffesionally known as Archer)
Profession: Vampire expert and occasional slayer. Takes jobs from vampires on vampires and is familiar with the society.
History: Comes from a family of vampire slayers, his family was killed by one vampire who had grown a resistance to the usual weaknesses of the vamperic nature. Ever since then he has been developing "inventive" new ways to kill them. After his family died he was found by another vampire who was a rival of his families killer, and he was introduced to the vamperic underworld. He doesn't have anything against vampires save one particular vampire, it's just a job. He would rather have the vamperic world balanced than dead, it would be bad for business.
Appearance: Average height with a long coat hiding many of his tools in trade. Irish accent, having lived there in his ealier years.

I wouldn't mind playing another charactor, a haze, it's an old myth. It's a servant a vampire keeps, no physical body but it does have the ability of possession and abilities somewhat like a banchee. I'd like to play a weakened haze, with only the ability of manipulating objects, in this case objects to form a rudimentary body. To start with he can be kitted in a medieval suit of armour but if thats trashed he can rebuild with different things. This idea would of course require a vampire volunteer for him to serve

Well, think of him as ultimate freelance, he is human but for the most part he was raised vampire. He takes jobs from vampires against other vampires, and he has no qualms about putting down other hunters if they target someone he would not like to be targeted

Actually he'd be a little like the undead butler. Heavy lifting and all the odd jobs vampires need doing and won't sully thier hands with.

It can manipulate objects to make itself a body for the purpouse (How do you spell that word, I'm sure thats wrong). Like I said, when it's introduced it will be manipulating an old style suit of armour. Very gothic and vampire servant I thought ;)

I made an announcement a few pages back. But good luck in college. I think you'll find there is more free time than you would expect. I'm a senior in college currently. If you should happen to find time, just let GS or myself know.

The blood, as stated in the intro post, lends temporary strength and enhancements. It is speculated that enough would allow a vampire to walk in the sun. Hell, they can have narrowed the search to this city.

There can't be any ripples until someone throws a rock into the water.

For example, Stien (My 'extra' acting character) was aware that somthing was happening in the city that was getting everyone stirred up. Have them trying to find out what is going on from poeple or each others charactors. (By the way, people can drop by to visit Stien to do whatever if they want, he's a well known guy by vampires)

In my last post I wrote a few things that might have been incorrect to the story. It was a diary about experiments on GS's characters ancestor, is that ok? Everything in place? I can take it out or change it if you don't like anything.

That is fine SD...all I said was his family was afflicted by some diease (sp) so it is cool to say his ancestor was experimented on.

well, this is just one scene and it will probibly break up pretty soon. you could have your character stumble across the other scene with Karl and Alex, i thin kare their names.

Whats the other scene? I thought there was just the one going on.

You can have your car go to a townhouse area where everyone is spare for Alex and Karl...they are in an alleyway where Karl has just shown Alex that vamps exist by blasting a female vamp to kingdom come.
