Introduction

As some of you may know, I am an active participant in Earth II (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=9504257). In this Earth, my nation is a modern-day Carthage, which is more "Arabized", yet still retains some key parts of it's original culture. Now, in my more recent threads, I have made references to the Technocrat-Caliph war, without ever saying what happened during the war. In this thread, I intend to write down what happened, so that you can see how this war shaped Carthage as it is today.

Prelude

The year is 1998, and Carthage has just welcomed the holy cities of Medina and Makka into it's empire. Mahmoud al-Zoukar, the new Caliph, has ushered in the Dual-Rule system of the nation. The Caliphate would control all Arabian and African lands, and the Technocracy would control the Indian Sub-continent and the Islands of the Mediterranean. Although it seems peaceful, tensions run deep. The Technocratic Council and the Caliph are at odds from the very beginning. One group is atheist, one is devout, etc. Seeing how conflicts is sure to begin, the Caliph has prepared to wipe out the Technocrats and solidify his rule of the Empire.
