Xeropa

Xeropa has many landmarks to come and gawp at, including that most magnificently modern municipal monument - the Great Hall of Debate of the Free Nations Alliance (designed by Award Winning architect Frobisher Hake). It sits proudly at the centre of a purpose built plaza in the middle of our capital, Marcheton. Its construction is a source of great pride to our nation, particularly since it gave us a wonderful excuse to bulldoze a large area of slums to make way for it.

Historically, we have the ruined Castle of King Eldred II in the far north, where it's debatable whether the stunning desolate landscape, the towering man-made structure, or the stupidity of building a castle on an active glacier is the more impressive.

There's also WindHenge on Howton moor - allegedly an old druidic structure where the local poor would be sacrificed to appease whatever gods the druids made up at the time. And of course, Risefell - 'the Glittering Mountain'. It's on all our postcards.

For the brave, you could always try photographing the gothic wonder of the Great Chambers of the Inquisition, but I'd advise against that...
Rainbirdtopia
05-08-2005, 11:31
Rainbirdtopia has the statue of Rainbird, a huge domineering figure which also doubles up as the emperors palace and place of residence.

It insures that people from all aspects of life see the greatness of their nation and know that they are always being watched by their omnipresent ruler.

The statue is also a training place for the Rainbirdian guard compromised of the finest soldiers Rainbirdtopia has to offer.

One of these statues exists in every city although not as big as the original this is where the city mayor lives and where the cities garrison are housed.

Towns and villages also have a statue however only the mayor or village head lives in it (the town/village guard are garrisoned elsewhere).

Windriders Prison: Far in the past a Companion was enchained by the Darklord, this Prison is a memorial of the suffering of the two who were imprisoned by the Darklord, Darshay and Windrider are said to protect the grounds from all hostile persons.

Sorrows: On the Northern border, south of another landmark, Crook-Back Pass, there lies the Forest of Sorrows, none with hostile intent survive the forest, slain by the curse of legendary Herald Vanyel Ashkevron, called Demonsbane, Firelord, and Shadowstalker, he died in Crook-Back pass, but his spirit, and those of his lover and Companion defend the forest to this day.

Crook-Back Pass: North of Sorrows, the Pass is the only route into the Southern Holding of Valdemar in the center of the pass legendary Herald Vanyel Demonsbane held off an army, and over 20 mages, while his lover Stefen, went to get the Guard, Vanyel died, calling Final-Strike on the commander of the opposing forces, destroying himself and the army attacking him, the only evidence of his death was a wisp of silver hair from Yfandes, his Companion, and his cracked and shattered mage-focus, lying in a cracked and burned circle of scorched stone, it is a memorial to those who have died in defense of our nation.

The Death-Bell, and the Grove Chapel: The Chapel itself has fallen into ruin, but the Death-Bell still stands, and it tolls for all who die in defense of the nation.

The Pillars of Creation: On the Southern Border, an area long fought over, there is now a memorial to peace, a pillar raised in olden times by the two nations that shared those borders, one to the North, in Valdemar, a Sun-in-Glory, emblem of their former foes god tops the pillar, to the South a Limestone monolith, topped by a carved Windrider, chains shattered and wings free, emblem of Valdemar. Each pillar is on the opposite side of the border of the Realm it represents to show the cooperation and peace between the peoples, it is said that as long as the pillars stand there will be peace, but if one falls, war will soon topple the other.
Muesilania
05-08-2005, 17:03
The Federation of Muesilania is a small but culturally diverse country quickly growing. It is split into 5 main areas.

The forest is home to a great and ancient temple, a token to the gods of long dead. Adventurers have reported shrines and statues dedicated to the Jaguar or some god or other, scattered about the greenery. This area is rarely visited by the tourist or locals.

The city have little in the way of landmarks. Apart from the government building housed within a 19th century mansion (with a deep and colourful history of colonisation and slave labour).

In the sea to the south there is a notable landmark. The 18th century battleship that was sunk during the Battle of Selania (as the land was known before it became the country it is today). Carved within the mountain to the side of the bay is a memorial to the dead of this battle and of others in the two big wars through the last 300 years of Muesilania.

Apart from this, there isn't much else. All of these landmarks are protected under the Muesilanian Heritage Agreement, stating that nobody is to enter these sites, the government building being an exception, unless it be for scientific research or any other task that is agreed to by the government.
The Majin Ideal
05-08-2005, 17:58
The Majin Ideal has three notable landmarks and locations:

First, and most notable, of all, is the giant stone structure that houses the 'The Majin Ideal's' government. Named "The Magisterum", the two hundered floor building stands in the centre of the nations capital city, Majina, and dwarfs the surrounding landscape. Taking two years to build, it is a testament to the power and unwavering authority of the government.

Secondly, 'Victory Hill' is located on the outskirts of the capital. Two years ago, the site was the location of the final battle of the nations first civil war. The two opposing forces 'The Followers of the Majin Ideal' and 'The Loyalists of the Crown and Monarchy' met on the hill to see who would prove victorious. The 'FMI' wanted to expell the Monarchy from power after they refused to stop supplying rival nations with arms and letting the nation be swamped with immigrants. The 'FMI' proved victorious, with the King being killed by my own hands. It is now a monument to our struggle for freedom from weak government.

Lastly, 'The Majin Ideal' has a thriving industrial district, built up around our Uranium Mines. The industrial centre provides all matérial needed for ships and weapons. The sight of hundereds of weapons and supply factories is truly a wonder to behold.

Signed:

President Jason Curtis

Ruler of "The Dictatorship of the Majin Ideal"
Raven The Black
05-08-2005, 20:46
Welcome to the shortsighted tour of our national landmarks...

In the main capitol there is a Statue of Raven the Black, Lord and God, it stands 3000feet high as becomes the greatest figure in history. Between the legs, is the marble encased Depositurium, or the 'Killing dome', where all political activists, animal liberationalists, the poor, the elderly, the infirmed, and such like are used to power the many energystations.

Up on the moors of screeching, is the legendary Encircled Wall Of Wailing, an encompassed 50 square mile area, originally used by some monks to grow nettles, but now, where captured liberal lefties are hunted by packs of wild bankmanagers on TeamMelding activities.

Also of note, are the Great Lakes of Blood, many people get confussed about the name, it is thought that these lakes are formed in the glaciered tundra by water seeping through the redstone bedrock, this is just a story told by parents to keep themselves sane, it's actually where mashed inciters for democray for the whole of the nation usually end up, thanks to our Lord and God's benevolent attitude to free thought.

Finally, we will be ending our tour in the Halls of Memorandum, a beautiful and equisite site, hand built over the years to accomodate the populace's need to know whats good for them. In here you will find your own chair and headnet. If you would like to be seated then you amalgamation proccess will commence forthwith......
