IC:
The long gravel path to the front of the Shentavo Academy twists around bushels of flowers and a great stone fountain. The school looks peaceful, and the architecture is breathtaking. It is mid afternoon and a breeze sweeps through the grounds, causing the leaves of the trees to rustle, and the waters of the lake and pool to ripple. It is a vast academy, and one must turn his head to engulf the entire scene. For so many few students that were accepted, it was certainly a glorious site. It would surely accommodate more, however, the facilities here were top notch, and both Alira and Ravelyn had believed that their students should be treated above all. After all, this was a very selective school. Later on, the night would present the annual orientation for new and returning students to meet the staff and be addressed by the headmistress.

Jade Nya was one of the two teachers on the first floor at the moment. She was tall with long curly blond hair, which was pinned up with green clips. She had brilliant emerald eyes with flecks of gold in them. She was the acrobatics teacher, and while she would have opted for the AC1 course, she was more agile than Hesione. She wore a black suit, tailored to fit her figure, with a white shirt underneath. She waited to greet the students. She leaned on the wall, and looked at the marble floor, and then switched her eyes to the main glass double doors. She was beginning to see a few students approach, and waited patiently. Out of all the teachers in the school, she was the only one that was human.

There was also a man sitting at the front desk. Clearly he was there to provide information. He had bright red hair that seemed to stand on end with the amount of gel he used. His azure colored eyes swept over the books he was reading in front of him, and did not bother to look up. He knew that the students would come to him to check in. He flipped the page with his right hand, which was made completely of metal. His arm had been severed at the elbow during one of the great wars, and technology of the nation allowed for him to have his arm replaced. Since them, the majority of his organs have also been replaced with bionic advances. Given his unique abilities as a Verakai, he was able to live through it. His name was Talon. He was, well, a back up Manavex teacher, should more assistance be needed in that area. He was sure that Alira could handle it, though. The Shentavo family always had a knack for Manavex. He recalled Quissera and shuttered. He placed his hand to a light scar over his left eye. He remembered Qui very well.

The second teacher was a young man just over six feet with pale skin and white hair. Two strands were longer in the front, and his eyes were a magnificent sea green. He wore white pants and a grey shirt. A large belt wrapped around his waist with various size pouches. He had a long chain around his neck of a phoenix, Alira’s symbol as it were. He was strong in frame, but had not over exerted himself in strength as Qui had. There was a slight resemblance, but none that would be mistake of any blood relation. His eyes were gentler, and his demeanor more upbeat. He is a nephilim, a half-angelic, and half human. His angelic features came to no surprise. There were no wings upon his back but his attractiveness was not subtle at all. He was the Telekenetics teacher.

As the students entered, they would have a choice to talk with any of the three. Jade was closest to the door, Talon was at the reception desk to check in, and Xavier was busying himself by drinking a cup of coffee in one of the chairs in the opening room.

It had been a long trip, one during which the young woman wondered over and over about the sanity of attending the Shentavo Academy. She had always managed before, and she knew that she could manage without tutelage. But her parents had seen the adverts, had looked at the brochures, and had forked out the money to send her, but that did not mean that Aurelia Joisse wanted to go. She had been driven to the airport under duress, she had begged her parents before she left the house, and even before they had signed her up for classes not to send her, but they would not listen. So it was, with a heavy heart and a slightly rebellious attitude that she arrived at the school.

Stepping out of the cab and into the main door of the building, Aurelia briefly looked around her and walked up to the main information desk, her facial expression and demeanour did not hide the fact that she wished she was anywhere else. She stood in front of the man.

Her long brown hair whirled into a loose bun on her head, tendrils of hair escaping from their fastenings, falling about her face. She was tall, five foot ten in her bare feet, but the shoes she had chosen added another couple of inches to her height. She had chosen a light pair of pants for the flight over, and had complimented her outfit with a loose fitting shirt, which though hiding her figure could not disguise it. She was slim, with curves in the right places, working out being high on her priorities. Her most striking features were her intense green eyes, which seemed to focus on items around her blazing.

“I’m Aurelia Joisse.” Her voice was monotone and bored sounding. “I’m attending the academy. If you could tell me where I need to go, I would be most grateful.” As she waited for him to reply, she finally let her eyes wander around her surroundings, but seemed hardly interested in them. Turning her back on the man, she circled around taking in as much of the décor as she could. As her eyes found his again, she sighed and gave him the tiniest of smiles. “If you could give me my room key, I’ll go and get unpacked.”

[ooc: for ease of reading, Aurelia's surname is pronounced Joyce]

While Jade did not turn her head, she caught Xavier’s eye as she stood at the front desk. He folded on arm over his abdomen as he sat and took another sip of his coffee. So the first student to arrive would be the one who least wanted to be here. He closed his eyes, and continued to enjoy his coffee. If she didn’t want to be here, no one would make her stay. He knew this. He knew that she could leave the first chance that she got, and wouldn’t put it past her. People like that are never worth holding on to. You have to let them go to make them realize their mistakes and judgment.

Talon didn’t look up to Aurelia at first. “If you wish to leave this academy, feel free to do so. The doors are behind you, the same as you entered.” The Verakai looked into the shallow surface of her emotions, testing how deep he would be let. “We will not keep you here. It is a privilege to be selected to come here. If you have no desire to learn what other schools will not teach, none of us will stop you.” Talon finally looked up, his bright blue eyes meeting hers. He placed a room key on the desk, whether she would take it or leave would be her choice. Given her current mindset, Talon figured that she would love to get out of here.

A black feather fell on the counter of the desk. It was beautiful, long and soft. Talon looked over at Xavier, who lowered his hand as if nothing had happened, and continued to sip his coffee. Talon shook his head. “But there are others who would wish you to stay, and feel you would be a very good match here.” Talon’s eyes glanced over at Xavier once more, his demeanor unchanging as well. He did not smile at the girl, as she didn’t want to be here, he didn’t want to shape her feelings in anyway. There was a kindness to his presence, however. Hopefully that would be enough to have her stay.

For some reason, the man’s attitude made her smile. Aurelia knew that she was being difficult, it was her way most times, after all. She turned her attention to him, looking at him directly in his face. “I know I can leave, if I really didn’t want to be here, do you think I would have turned up?” She sighed and gave an apologetic look at Talon. “I’m sorry if I have insulted you in any way.”

She dropped her bag on the floor. “This is kind of strange for me, you know? New country, new school, new people.” She lowered her eyes and lowered her voice. “I’ve always felt a little…weird. I don’t know people like me. Coming to a school for freaks is kind of hard, because it means I have to admit to being a freak.” She met his eyes again. “But I am here, and I’m here for the duration. For one, my parents would probably kill me for not attending after forking out for school fees.” She gave him another smile. “How about we try this again?”

“Then lets,” he said in return. “My name is Talon. I will be assisting students with anything other than class work.” He gave her a smile, and looked down at the list, checking off her name. “This school might be a bit different for you. Everyone here is gifted with their own special talents. Everyone is a bit ‘weird’ here. Wait until you meet the teachers.” He gave a bit of a chuckle, and looked at what classes. “Manavex, and Lore and Languages. Good decision. Our Manavex teacher is the last Shentavo, Alira, a brilliant woman, if I do say so, one of the best here. Viv as your language instructor is very well versed, though she hasn’t arrived yet. She should be due tonight just before the ceremony. You won’t be able to miss her.”

He turned his head and looked toward the white haired young man with the cup of coffee, lost deep in thought. Talon picked up the black feather that had fallen, and gave it to Aurelia. He gestured over to the man. “That’s the Telekenetics teacher, Xavier. Apparently he’s shown a bit of interest in you, though he does like toying with his feathers anyhow. He has a sly mind and is rather cunning, but he’s caring at heart.”

Am I really? a voice said, and Talon recognized it to be Xavier. Xavier’s eyes had opened, but his mouth did not move. He closed his eyes once more, and continued to drink his coffee. I’ve always thought I was a bit rugged. He chuckled a bit, then paid no more mind to the two at the front desk. Talon shook his head, and turned back his attention to Aurelia.

“The other you see is Jade, unlike Xavier’s keen ears, she can’t hear us. She’s the acrobatics teacher. She is rather strict. I’m surprised she’s greeting students. She does favor students that carry a bit of boldness though, and I have no doubt you have it. Alira and Viv are fair teachers, I’m sure you will not be displeased with their abilities, or how they can shape yours. Good luck to you, Aurelia.” Talon said with a smile. “Room 2, on the student's floor.”

Another taxi stoppes and a middle aged good looking woman dressed into the dark-blue-and-silver uniform of Erasian Airlines openes the door. She scannes the area with a look of her brown eyes. What she sees seemes to satisfy her (at least it doesn’t worry her too much). The woman turnes and payes the driver then she takes her small black bag and enteres the building through the main door.

Another brief look reveales the interior and, more important, the people present.

Intresting characters.

She steps behind the taller girl at the desk and waits. Other than Aurelia Sil does not even consider leaving the acadamy as an option. Not when they had been able to find Sil. And not with all the possibilities the acadamy offered.

Aurelia gazed in each of the directions that Talon pointed as he described each of the teachers around the room, her face showing signs of interest despite her earlier lack of it. “Thank you Mr…ah, Talon.” She gave him a warm smile and crouched down to pick up her bag. “It was very kind of you to forgive me and give me a second chance.” She took the feather and her key, as she turned around and gave each of the teachers another look.

“I know you might find this strange, but in a weird kind of way, I actually feel at home already.” She laughed lightly as she turned back to Talon and smiled. “Room two,” she recited, as she looked around wondering whether she should dump her luggage first in her room, or whether she was meant to introduce herself to the teaching staff.

Moving away from the desk, she juggled the things in her hands, suddenly wishing she had another hand, while at the same time not doing what she would at home when no one was looking, and use her mind. She might be in a school where that was normal, but she still felt a little uneasy about displaying what she could do. For so much of her life she had kept it hidden from strangers, and at that moment in time, everyone in the room was a stranger.

Five years it had been now since the awakening of the secret within. Many miles had the bearer traveled, in search of understanding, in search of the reason why he was gifted with such a curse, and a blessing. Dark hair, cut at medium length and spiked in random direction with some gel framed the face of the young twenty-two aged Irishman. He walked to the fountain, and paused, turning to face the water splashing softly.

A hand reached in to scoop the water up, and then release it to gravity's pull once more. He tilt his head as he saw his reflection next. I know every answer about you now, except for why. he thought to himself as he stared into his own brown eyes. Dominique passed on so Clare could become mortal, and you became her protector. Yet, there is more. I know there is. But what? And why?

He turned his head to the Academy entrance, shaking his hand free of the remaining droplets of water. Here goes nothing. The gravel crunched under his footsteps, measured, slow footsteps that would indicate he was in no hurry.

Walking in, he glanced at each of the staff members only once, wondering who they were, and yet, he did not ask. He instead strode toward the man behind the desk and was momentarily distracted by the metallic arm that moved almost as fluidly as a real arm. He could feel the man's eyes on him and so he spoke,

"Patrick Clarke."

How long had it last been since Joshua had steped foot on these grounds? A year at most that seemed to have lasted an eternity. This academy was his second home in a sense and he had missed it dearly.
A young man almost looking like a book worm slowly wandered up the driveway and into the doors of the academy, he only carried a duffle bag and a zip-up binder that was under his arm. He slowly walked towards the information desk and spoke "Joshua Vir checking in. And if at all possible would I be able to get the room my mentor stayed at when he was here? It's room seventeen."
While he awaited a response he looked around sizing up everything and anyone around.

Talon looked at the three and smiled, handing out keys in the order that they arrived. Joshua, as requested received his old room. He was not a bit overwhelmed at the rush. People generally arrive around the same time. “Please make yourselves at home. Your rooms are ready for you, and you may speak with a few of the teachers if you like. Xavier, the Telekenetics teacher, is the one right over there with the coffee. Jade, the acrobatics instructor is the one with the curly blond hair. Either of them will be able to help you out as I check people in. My name is Talon; I handle admissions and everything else not dealing with class work.”

He smiles lightly, his blue eyes shining. He observed the students carefully. This would be an interesting year.

Trevor stepped out of the cab that had brought him and blinked in the bright sunlight. He stared up the walk for a moment, brushing some hair out of his eyes, then turned, paid the driver and got his bag out of the trunk. He hadn't been sre what to expect, but this place wasn't it. It would have been difficult, at least for him, to imagine a school for "freaks" in such an idyllic setting. Smiling slightly at that thought, he slung his bag over his shoulder and made his way up the path to the front door.

As he pushed open the door, his black eyes flickered over each of the people standing inside, as if measuring them for weaknesses. He was not particularly imposing, at 5'10" tall and was very slightly built. After his brief acknowledgement of each person, he moved to the back of the line fo students waiting to check in, staring blankly at the desk behind which Talon was seated. The expression on his face was one of complete boredom.

As he waited, his mind was anything but still. Part of him asked why he was there. This is stupid, it said, blowing my entire savings on a school for freaks. That's sure to get me far. He frowned as he thought about this for a moment, then answered himself. It's the chance of a lifetime. When am I going to have an opportunity like this again? but he couldn't help but wonder, an opportunity for what? How will this benefit me? He continued to waver back and forth in his mind as the line slowly moved forward. Of course there was no real chance of Trevor leaving. Though he might be many things, he was not a quitter, and would see this through to the end.

When he reached the front of the line, he looked up, and spoke clearly but quietly. "My name is Trevor, I'm a new student."

Taking the key silently, Patrick slid it into his pocket and turned away from the desk, only to come face to face with Jade standing not too far away. He watched as she turned her head to him and nodded in his direction.

Might as well. he thought to himself as he approached her, "I'm Patrick Clarke. I'm just curious to know, who are the Shentavos? I could only find whispers of their true identities, secrets buried deeply."

Secrets. Secrets buried as deeply as his was, or even more so. He didn't know, but they intrigued his mind, his intellect. Shentavo the word rolled through his mind, as if he were savoring the very essence of the name. Unique came the reply from within as he thought about the origin, which was in itself, buried in mystery as well.

Joshua nodded and thanked Talon for the key and began to walk away when he heard Patrick asking about the Shentavo family. He paused for a moment and debated in his head for a moment. When he finaly made up his mind he decided to help explain who they were to him.
"The Shentavo family orginates from Ravelyn Shentavo an angelic vampire," he said from behind Patrick. He sighed quietly feeling that he was risking hiding who he was by answering.

As the room began to fill with other students, Aurelia gave each of them a cursory glance, running her eyes over them as if locking their image away ready to begin adding details if and when she received any. She gave Xavier a lingering look, wondering what the deal was with the feathers, but thought that it would keep until another time. She was not good in crowds, the noise and emotions, not to mention the various distractions made it hard for her to concentrate, to keep her abilities in check. And she had a whole year’s worth of time to get to know everyone. Despite what Talon or any of the others might have thought, she was not a quitter.

Gripping her luggage tightly, she manoeuvred her key into her hand ready to insert into the lock, once she found her door, while she kept her feather carefully in the same hand. Giving the staff and students one last look, she went in search of her room and a little silence.

Sil took the key and nodded politely at Talon before leaving. She wondered: she hadn’t mentioned her name, had not even said she was a student. Sudden fear neraly overwhelmed her. What if anyone had followed her from Eras? What if they simply walked into the acadamy and pretended to be students? The teachers here didn’t know Sil’s face for it the one she was wearing right now wasn’t her own and had let her pass without even asking for her name. Any assassin sent to eliminate her would be able to enter, do his or her job and be gone before anybody knew what had happened.

Sweat prickled on her forehead. What if this assassin was already here?

She turned her head and looked at the other students. Maybe ist one of them. It was a bad idea to leave my hide-out. Me and my damn couriosity. Sil fastened her steps. It was unlikely that one of those who had arrived with her were assassins sent to kill her. All of them had mentioned a name and this Talon had recognized them. An assassin wouldn’t use a name; he would enter without saying a word as Sil had done.

The panic vanished but the feare stayed. Hastely Sil went to her dorm, room 13

Great, Sil thought sarcasticaly my favourite number

Sil closed the door and fell onto the bed, cursing the world, herself, God and everything and everyone else.

Jade Summerton was growing tired of the entire trip to the Academy. She was never one to sit idly for a long period of time. Her patience began to grow thin, but luckily, the trip was coming to a close. She had taken a flight to within the general area of the Academy, and from there, would take a cab to the actual Academy. She got off of the plane, excited to stretch out, and walk around. If there was one thing she hated the most, it was staying in the same place for a few hours, with absolutely nothing to do. Jade is the type of person that needs to constantly have a task to complete.

She began to think to herself at what she was getting herself into.
I really have no idea what's going to happen. I hate that feeling. she shrugged. I really do hope that I can at least find someone there that I can talk to. It'd be nice to have a friend. Jade shook her head, denied her own sympathy towards herself, and laughed it off.

Ever since her seperation from her family, she really hasn't been able to establish a lasting friendship with anyone. She realized, in hope, that this may very well be the last chance she has at establishing a friendship that could potentially last for the rest of her life, especially at the fact that these people were similar to her. They were.. different.

----------------------------

Jade found a cab, right outside of the airport, hopped in, and gave the taxi driver the directions to the Academy. She was nearing her arrival, and was beginning to feel a bit nervous. No matter how much she wouldn't admit it, she really cares about what people think of her.. maybe a little too much.

The cab continued its course towards its destination, which ended up being quite a peaceful drive. It gave Jade some time to think.

Be yourself. she repeated inside her head. Just be yourself, and they'll like you..... Who am I kidding, she thought, it's not likely that anyone will like me. Hell, my parents and my family overall don't like me. as she gave a worried look on her face.

The car arrived at its destination. Jade stared out at it, until the cab driver interrupted her so that he could get back to his job. She broke out of her temporary trance, and paid the driver the fee, grabbed her luggage, and began walking towards the entrance. She was able to supress her nerves and tension for a while, and finally got inside of the door. She had finally made it. Jade looked around to see some students that had already arrived, and what looked two older people, one man and one woman.

They must be the teachers, she thought.

She walked over towards both of them, which seemed to already be talking to one of the students. She awaited her turn, mostly because she was never good with introductions.

Trevor watched as the students who had arrived before him either went off to get moved into their rooms. He wanted to get out of this lobby to somewhere he could be alone for a while. The stress of the long trip here from Squornshelous needed to be bled off quietly in meditation before it grew into a bad mood.

He turned his head at the sound of the door and glanced briefly at the young woman who had walked just walked in. His eyes scanned her for a moment from a face that was completely devoid of emotion. He nodded almost imperceptibly, then turned back to the check in desk expectantly.

Talon gave out keys to all of those whom arrived. Night was approaching, and orientation would be held in the grand ballroom. He announced this to the students and over the loudspeaker. They had one hour to unpack and get ready. He continued checking off peoples names and repeating their classes to them. The only one that seemed out of place was Joshua, who was now taking Manavex, though it wasn’t in his application. He chuckled a bit. It must have been a former teacher’s doing.

Jade Nya looked at the young woman as she entered, and approached her. Xavier was too busy with his coffee to notice. Her emerald green eyes sparkled. “Welcome.” She smiled intently.

She has the same name as you, Jade… Xavier’s voice sounded once again, though his lips were motionless, and his eyes still closed.

Nya smiled a bit, and extended her hand. “I’m Jade Nya, the acrobatics teacher here. You can sign in with the front desk with Talon; he’ll be able to give you your room key and classes.”

Just then a young woman came barreling through the door, suitcases and bags in each arm. She stumbled and dropped some of her luggage. She was around twenty three with light turquoise hair pulled back in two clips. She had bright amber eyes and a worried expression. Jade gave her an all to well known expression, and Xavier glanced over. He stood up, and walked toward her.

Ah,[i] he began. [i]Viv, how good to see you again. He raises his hand, and the luggage picked itself off from the floor, and lifted the burden from the woman. If you needed help with those bags, you should have just hollered, I would have heard you.

“Very kind of you, Xavier,” she said with a grateful smile. Talon had risen from the desk as well, and taken the floating bags from the air, giving Xavier a slight smile. He carried the bags for the lore and language teacher to the elevator, and went back to his desk.

Talon was a bit startled at the question. “Shentavo?” He paused. “Yes, Joshua. You are correct…and don’t try to fool anyone here. You might get past all the staff, but not I, nor Xavier, nor Alira. Viv would probably detect it in you, as would Hesione. Hell, actually Jade would probably not notice. She is the only human here.” He chuckled a bit. “Now, about the Shentavo family…”

At that moment, a woman descended down the main circular staircase, her chin tilted casually. She was a beautiful sight with long auburn hair falling down her back in waves. Her cool grey eyes contained specks of brilliant scarlet toward the center, though hardly noticeable. Her skin was fair and flawless. She was around 5”8 with a slender frame, though possessing all the curves where they were required. She wore a long white, formfitting dress, and her alabastor fangs set lightly on her berry stained lips.

“That’s a Shentavo,” Talon said softly. Jade smiled, and nodded her head at the woman, Talon smiled brightly. As she stepped off the last stair, she caught a black feather in mid air, and looked around the room, singling out Xavier. A smile crossed her face for a brief second. The nature of it was undetermined. They met eyes for a moment, then broke their contact.

“Hello,” she said simply, and observed the new arrivals carefully, but no longer than a few seconds. She could tell all she needed. Rather than interrupt Jade’s conversation with one of the students, which seemed to have been already interrupted, she turned to Xavier. She twirled the feather within her fingertips, and gave it back to him. He smiled, and looked up at her, his deep teal eyes shining.

“Good evening, m’lady,” he whispered, the first time they had heard him speak from his lips rather than through his mind. She nodded to him, but differently than she did the rest. She turned to address the rest of the gathering.

“Welcome all to the Shentavo Academy,” she said, her velvety voice slipping over every curve of the walks and the sleek marble floor. “To new faces, and to old. If you haven’t done so, check in with Talon, he’ll tell you what you need to know. All the staff are on campus at this time, so the ceremony will begin shortly in the grand ballroom…if you would take a seat in there, we will get you orientated.” She passed by them once again, making her way into one of the rooms down the hall.

In the dark sky, a strange thing was flying. It appeared to be a large bird, slightly larger than a fully mature horse. As the moonlight struck it, scales gave of a shimmering white and ice blue color. As the creature neared the front of the Academy, its form became more defined; it was a Tarlachian Ice Dragon.

A woman standing 5'11, wearing tight, black latex pants, a tight black t-shirt, and a black, leather trenchcoat was on the animal. The dragon touched down and walked near the door. The woman appeared to be in her early twenties, light brown hair was tied back in a pony tail and light green eyes studied the building. Her skin was pale, almost white in color. She smiled, displaying a row of perfect teeth; her fangs raised into her upper jaw.

Nicole Patterson grabbed her bags off the back of the dragon and gave it a pet on the head. The dragon was named Cassandra, she was part owned by Nicole's sire and lover Stephen Malone; the first Simatarian vampire. Though fearsome in apperance, those who knew the animal knew Cassandra was a kind as a puppy. She was really just a dog with scales and wings.

Nicole took a step into the building, she noted all of the people already there. She hoped that none of them would be nervous with a vampire on the campus. As she took a step, she heard the doors open again and turned to see Cassandra sticking her head in. Nicole quickly looked behind her before turning back to the dragon. The pair exchanged briefly in draconic, Nicole explaining how Cassandra couldn't come with her. Though still desiring to be with Nicole, Cassandra gave the vampire a lick before retracting her head and taking off into the night sky.

Nicole turned and scanned the students again, getting Cassandra to leave had made her miss the announcment. She spotted the sign-in desk. She walked up to it and smiled at the man behind it.

"Nicole Patterson. I am sorry if I am late...downside of being a vampire. Umm...can I get my room key? I hope I didn't miss anything or delay anything. I was uhh..distracted with my dragon."

Trevor quickly walked to his room. it was obvious now that he wasn't going to have time for meditation, but he still needed to ease his mood a little before the ceremony. He opened the door and walked in, letting it swing closed behind him as he groped for a light switch. Upon seeing the interior of what would be his home for the next 9 months, he was somewhat impressed. This is pretty nice, he thought, nicer than a lot of hotel rooms I've stayed in

He set his bag down and seated himself on the bed, his eyes closed and his breathing was even. Clearing his mind of the day's activities, Trevor slowly felt himself begin to relax. On an impulse, he stretched out his mind to feel the world around him, and was surprised at the amount of energy he felt from the other people. It had been extremely rare for Trevor to come across another person with his abilities, and although he knew that he was among equals now, it was still unexpected.

Presently he opened his eyes and got up off the bed. He glanced around at his room one last time and then walked to the door, thinking it better be nice for the amount I'm paying them. He walked through the hallway back to the entry room. The room was now empty, and he walked through to the ballroom. Talon had mentioned an orientation taking place there and he didn't want to miss anything.

ooc: Shentavo nations were never dead. I just got married. Anyway, post on the ooc thread, not here.

Talon gawked at Nicole as she entered, he chuckled a bit. Vampires, as he knew with the Shentavos, had always shown off their looks. He shook his head and watched as she approached. He placed a room key before her. “Room 6, and I suggest you change into something a little more ‘appropriate’ for the orientation ceremony. While there is no dress code, I don’t believe latex would be considered actual clothing at an academy.” He looked down at the list.

“Your classes are in the daytime, unfortunately, my dear,” he began, and noticed her expression. “However, the headmistress will give you a vial of her blood to take every three days, which should be able to keep you from burning. I suppose in being a vampire, you don’t get to see the sunrise often. If you would see her about this matter after orientation, and keep it on a low scale. She doesn’t do this for everyone, you know, and her blood is valuable. She will do anything for her students, however.” He sighs softly, his azure eyes tracing over the desk in front of him, and his bright red hair seeming more on edge than usual.

“You just missed her, but she will be giving the orientation ceremony. It will be in the grand ballroom. I suggest you get to your room and get ready. It will begin within the next half hour.”

Nicole nodded to the dress code, it had been raining when she had left and found latex to be more water resistant than jeans. The young vampire winced at the notion of day time classes. She had no desire to burn up into a crisp; she knew if that happened Stephen would be here raising hell with his automatics in no time. Her face took on an expressin of shock as Talon explained about the blood and being able to move in the sunlight. As Nicole took her key, she was trying to comprehend what she had just heard. Her mouth moved slightly. It took two more attempts for her to talk.

"Thank you very much." She said in a slightly raspy voice, the shock had yet to wear off.

As she walked upstairs and into her room, she was numb at the prospect of seeing the sun. For seventy years she had lived in the darkness, now she could walk like a human. A single tear rolled down her pale cheek. If only Stephen was here. He has gone on in darkness far more than I have. Nicole undressed and took a brief shower.

Nicole decided not to go all out with dressing up. So, she decided on a pair of clean black jeans and a slightly looser black t-shirt. She rooted through her bags and pulled out something on a chain. It was a bloodstone in the shape of a dragon. She put it around her neck and tucked it under her shirt. She had brought it to prevent herself from feeding on the students and staff. She didn't know if the vial of blood the headmistress would also quell her hunger for blood during the periods, so Nicole thought it best to keep the stone close.

Feeling better, the shock of walking through daylight wearing off, Nicole left her room and headed downstairs.

Joshua was silent for a moment before responding to the comment about himself, "I wasn't planning on hiding my nature or my past from any of those I trust but it is for my own safety that I do attempt to hide it. Two lives, twice comitting desertion. Good times." To be honest he wasn't expecting anything extravagent this year. Just the usual escape from everything in the hellhole he wandered for decades, the chance to rest and relax without the threat of some idiot trying to kill him, and the chance to recall all that had happened ove the last several years and what had changed, both around him and within him.

It was then that the young woman decended the staircase. She instantly caught Joshua's eye, however it wasn't because she was beautiful it was because of her blood line. The blood line that Joshua had a very small tie to and that few knew of. So she is the last decendent. Always seems that there is only one then out of the blue Qui or Rave pop up in some reserected form and ether start making my life hell or ending up saving me, he thought aloud not truely caring if anyone would pick up.

After his little diversion of his attention he quietly began walking off to the dorms. After only a minute of quick walking he reached room seventeen and smiled as he recalled the memories that came with the room, yet something else other than joy tugged at his face. To the careful on looker, who if they were lucky got look at his eyes, could see a tear starting for form as he recalled a woman who he met his first year here as a cocky soldier and who had been there for him but was no longer with him or even in this world anymore. Though the little trip down memory lane managed to show some slight sorrow on his normaly happy facade that he would put up it didn't stop him from tossing his bag and binder on the bed and stopping for a moment beore removing his useless glasses and placing them on night table before exiting his room being careful to avoid the large humanoid figure imprint on the floor, somehow he managed to make during the first year, and walked towards the ball room all signs of the small emotional outburst hidden again.
Assington

It had been some time since Jimmy had flown within the cool confines of an aircraft. In fact, it had been a long time since Jimmy had even left Assington. He'd been locked away in his little underground lair, only coming out to aquire the essentials before going back underground. He was ignorant of many things in the world and was surprised to find this Shentavo Academy invitation within the letter box of the mock house above his true home.

As the vast grounds of the school passed by his window, Jimmy noted the sun had set and he was most likely late. Unfortunately there had been a hold up at the airport back in Assington, some idiot claiming the plane would explode just to get some attention. Fortunately the event did provide Jimmy with some amusement was he watched the young man get tackled to the ground and roughly dragged away by the over zealous airport security.

The grounds were certainly impressive, even in the fading light. Jimmy noted a large lake with finely kept lawns and other such vegetation, all working together to create an aesthetically pleasing scene. It was much better than the dark, underground cave Jimmy called his home, despite his half hearted efforts to decorate the place a little.

Finally the cab came to a halt before a gravel path leading towards the main building of the school. Gracefully sliding out the door, Jimmy grabbed his single suitcase and paid the driver. Despite his two hundred and fourty-seven years of age, Jimmy had no personal items he would consider of any real importance. Sure he had clothes, yet he cared not for fashion. He had weapons back at home, yet he held no particular attatchments. Honestly, the only thing Jimmy really needed was his mind.

Gravel crunched under his dull white runners as Jimmy made his way towards the building, promptly opening the door and stepping inside. The light immediately revealed a pair of faded blue jeans upon his legs and a black t-shirt, covered by dull white jacket. Everything he owned seemed to be old and worn, yet still in servicable condition.

Years of spending time underground left Jimmy quite pale and his unruly black hair was a deep contrast to his smooth white skin. Of course he was never too concerned about apperances. Taking a moment to gaze around the finely furnished room, Jimmy moved towards the front desk. He was late, yet he wasn't about to stress over it.

"Good day. I'm Jimmy Horus, new student."

Whilst he didn't like to think of himself as a student in his particular field of study, Jimmy had always been willing to admit he didn't know everything.

Getting herself settled in her room, did not take too long, and it was a short while later that Aurelia returned down to the reception area where she was pointed in the direction of the ballroom where the ceremony would be taking place. As she walked she gave herself the opportunity to look around the place, and despite her first misgivings of coming to the academy, she could not deny the luxury of the place, but then for the fees, she would have been complaining if it was a tip.

From what she had seen of those present, and that equated mostly to the staff and a few students that she had yet to be acquainted with. Still dressed as she had been when she arrived, she moved quickly into the room and sat down on a chair to the rear of the room, never being one to push herself to the front. There was no reason to draw attention if she could help it. Her entrance at the school had not exactly gone as quietly as she would have hoped. She would have to be very careful to keep both her mind and her expression as closed as possible.

Leaning back, she waited to see what would happen. There was always some sort of greeting in these places, where they were told the rules and given a pep talk to get everyone feeling an enthusiasm to learn. Looking down into her lap, her fingers played with a feather, that she was surprised she had kept hold of. She would have to return it to its owner if she got the chance.

“I’m Jade Nya, the acrobatics teacher here. You can sign in with the front desk with Talon; he’ll be able to give you your room key and classes.”

Jade waited until the teachers' announcement was over, where she nodded politely as Jade Nya and the male teacher. She then turned around and looked around the room for a bit. Her feelings started to change, and she began to have second thoughts for even coming here in the first place.

What if they don't like me here? she thought. What if I become an outcast here too?

She knocked those thoughts out of her head, and continued looking around.

This place seems very nice. she looked even further, at the rest of the students that were still in the lobby. They seem like nice people. Let's just hope that I'm right...

Jade moved on to talk to Talon, where she would get her room key and become more acquainted with her own settings. After all, this place is where she will be living for the next few months. She walked over to Talon, and briefly stood there, not sure what to say. Her mind went completely blank, and she probably didn't look very smart in doing so. Jade finally looked up and spoke. "Hi, my name is Jade. Could I have the key to my room?"

Immediately she thought, Idiot! That was a horrible way to introduce yourself... Work on your social skills so that you can actually carry on a conversation with someone.

Talon looked at Jimmy, and smiled. He placed a key in front of him. “You better hurry. You are room number 14. Make sure once you place you things in your room, head down to the grand ballroom and take a seat for orientation, it should begin very shortly.” Talon stood up, revealing his mechanical arm and strong frame. He continued to sift through papers and check the new arrival off. Seeing that Jimmy had started off for his room, he sat back down, and watched as Jade placed a hand on Xavier’s shoulder, but he brushed it away, and stood up. A conversation seemed to pass between the two through their eyes, though Jade did not have the capability of mental speech, so he figured that it was a one way conversation. Talon was not going to be present at the ceremony. He was going to wait and see if any other students will be

GM: All of the students have now entered the ballroom for orientation, even if you were late.

All of the students filtered into the grand ball room. A lush emerald and gold carpet lined the floor in intricate designs. There were steel beams across the ceiling and windows between them. You could see the night sky through them, which was quite a remarkable sight. There were alabastor pillars on either side of the doors that lead to the rest of the building. At the front of the room there was a painting, illuminated by orange lights. There were chairs set at the center facing the painting, waiting for the orientation.

Nya, the acrobatics teacher, stood on the far left, still in the same suit she had been wearing before. She stepped in front and in center so that all students could see her. They quieted down immediately. “Greetings,” she began, her pale lips twisting over the word. “My name is Jade Nya, and I’m the acrobatics teacher here at the academy. I am the only human on the staff, so if you feel a bit uneasy around other types of beings, then perhaps this isn’t the best school for you. Do be respectful of others creeds. Just to run over you the floors. There are staircases in this building, and are no elevators. I suggest if you want to get to your class on time, you leave ten minutes early. It might take you only three or four minutes to get there, however you may be distracted for some reason. The 1st floor includes restaurants, swimming pool, work out center, and evening lounge. The 2nd floor includes all student dorms. The 3rd floor includes all classes as well as library and study hall. The 4th floor includes all staff rooms and accommodations and is off limits to students past 10 o’ clock. There is no reason you need to go beyond the fourth floor unless told otherwise. I’d also like to say, yes, we do have a Starbucks© which was installed last year, it as well, is on the 1st floor. “She looked to her side, and she looked to Viv, who was standing against the wall searching through a deck of cards. “I’d now like to introduce the Lore and Language instructor.”

“Elcomewë ótén heten cädemeyäth,” she began. “My name is Viv Listacia, and I’m the professor of Lore and Language.” Her light turquoise hair was now wrapped in two clips, with various trinkets along her tresses. Her amber eyes shifted among the students. “I am a kappa, or nymph, so during the days other than your classes, you might not be able to find me easily. If you need to reach me for some reason, you can speak with any of the staff, save for Jade and Hesione, who do not have the capabilities of reaching me. This should be a wonderful year, and by the end of it, you will even be fluent in an elven language and be able to understand and converse with each other through it. It will be a very interesting year for us all.” She walked from the center to the right side, and another woman took the center.

She was tall and toned, her eyes a deep black and her hair a fiery rose red. Her skin was tan, and there were tattoos running along her right arm. She was twenty seven years old in appearance. She wore niech leather boots and black pants with a red tank top and a black mesh vest over it. Her forearms were taped up in black sparring tape with black gloves over her hand. “Hello,” she said to the students with her eyes scanning every one of them. “My name is Hesione Nonamura, and I am the resident demon on campus.” She caught the eyes of a few of the students whose expressions showed a bit of apprehension at this. She smiled a bit. “I’m the advanced combat instructor here. I will tell you right now that I am very strict. You will be working hard, because imperfection will not be an option for you. Be warned that my class will take a lot of effort, and if you are not willing to put in that effort, then you will drop my class and not receive credit. I believe I’ve been made clear, on a lighter note, to my right is your Telekenetics teacher. Perhaps he would like to introduce himself.”

Xavier opened his eyes and made his way to the center, taking his time in Hesione’s stare. She moved off to the side to stand next to Viv. He pushed a few strands of white hair away from his teal eyes. Welcome to the Academy to both new and returning students. My name is Xavier, and I am the assistant headmaster at this school as well as the Telekenetics professor. Unlike advanced combat, this class will focus on the strength of the mind rather than the body. I am also the healer on campus, and in being a nephilim, it’s rightfully so. For those of you who do not really know what the term ‘nephilim’ means, it means I’m a half angelic. If you by some chance get hurt crucially, I will be the one to tend to you. The entire time he spoke, his lips did not move. He saw Alira out of the corner of his eye, and nodded slightly, and turned to make his way next to Nya.

Alira walked in front of the students, her white dress fitted perfectly to her figure. Her long auburn tresses fell in waves and curled ever so slightly at the bottom. Her grey moonlit eyes searched over the students. “Greetings, and welcome to the Shentavo Academy. My name is Alira Shentavo, and I am the headmistress of this school. With the mention of my last name, I’m sure there is no question as to what I am.” She gave a half smile, her fangs grazing upon her bottom lip. “Before the year starts, I wish to go over a few things. First, the rules and regulations. No drinking on campus with the exception of special occasions. No smoking in the building including the dorm rooms. Students can not enter the forth floor after ten o’ clock. Students can not attend classes they did not sign up for. If you wish to take another class please inform me. Any conflicts between students will be dealt with by Xavier and myself. Students must be in their dorm rooms by twelve if they have a class the next day. As the Manavex professor, students using Manavex can only use it when supervised by the instructor and these students can not practice Manavex on other students outside the class room. Manavex is the most difficult class here and the other teachers will agree this is no exaggeration. Be prepared when you come to class. Make sure that if you wish to wander the grounds, travel with someone if going more than two acres away from the school. While this land stretches vastly, I don’t want to lose anyone.”

“I know that you have your work cut out for you. You will have a free day tomorrow, and on the second day your classes will begin. There is one class a day, and the order as is follows; Telekenetics, Advanced Combat, Acrobatics, Lore and Language, Manavex and Manipulations. After the fifth day, the cycle repeats itself until the end of the year.” She paused for a moment, her pale skin illuminated by the moonlight from the overhead windows. “Good luck.” She stepped away toward Xavier at the right corner of the room. Jade stood in the center, and Hesione was toward the left. Viv, unfortunately, had already left. The students could either go to their dorm rooms, or have a chance to speak with some of their professors.

Aurelia listened intently to the rules and regulations, paying attention to which teacher did what, particularly those that related to her study plan. She frowned slightly as she realised she had free time for half the week and then had two full days of classes one on top of the other. She closed her eyes and sighed, until she realised that this meant she would have plenty of time to complete any homework, and would still give her plenty to time hang out and enjoy herself.

Rising from her seat, she headed over to Xavier, where he was standing next to Aliria. “Miss Shentavo, it is a pleasure to meet you. I am looking forward to attending your class.” She gave the woman a warm smile then turned to her companion. “And I think you lost this earlier.” She smiled, as she held up the feather that Xavier had dropped before her earlier. “You might need it to persuade other students to stay.” It was kind of her way for saying thank you. She flicked her eyes between the two, and took a step back preparing to retreat.

Alira smiled at Aurelia. “And it is nice to see a new face. I’m sure you’ll be fine in my class. There hasn’t been a death since first year, and that was when Quissera was teaching, which could have been done intentionally.” She chuckled a bit. “I won’t allow anything to happen that would harm anyone. I have it in my capabilities to control the way the class will go.” She smiled lightly, and looked at the feather as she gave it back to Xavier.

Thank you, Aurelia , he said to her with a grin. Though I do have many feathers, I only give my favorites away. He tucked it within the lining of his jacket, and watched as she turned away. He looked at Alira, and gave her a smile.

Jade listened to the introduction of each of the teachers, and then the rules for the students. It seemed that she would have a pretty decent break between both of her classes. The downside to that though, is that she has a pretty huge chunk of free time on her hands.

More time to study and practice, she thought.

After the orientation was over, she was still deep in thought. The teacher that intrigued her the most was Xavier. Jade had never met a half-angelic before, and had always wondered what it would be like to live a life as he has. One of her major goals in life was to become a strong healer.

She put away her anti-social mask for a moment, wishing to talk to Xavier. She walked over to him and greeted him.

"My name is Jade Summerton. I will be in your Telekinesis class this year."

She suddenly lost her train of thought, and couldn't remember what to say. Perhaps she was buckling under the pressure of actually greeting someone tht she didn't know. Either way, she knew she had to suck it up, and continue on.

"I've always wanted to use my powers for the good of the world, and have hoped to become a great healer one of these days." she then realized that she had begun ranting. [i]"Oh goodness, I'm sorry. Sometimes I just don't even realize anything that I'm saying. You don't even know me, and I'm already telling you my life goals."

Jade looked quite embarrassed at another conversation ruined by her untrained mind.

Feeling oddly uncomfortable, but glad to have gotten that out of the way, Aurelia looked around the room, and without staying another word to anyone, disappeared out of the ballroom, deciding to have a look around the place, to get accustomed to where everything was. The thought that someone had died in one of the classes she was taking did not fill her with too much joy, not that she had been naïve enough to think that is could not happen. She had felt things when she lost her temper, could sense the potential, and had over stepped the line a couple of times in her youth, nothing too bad, but enough to scare herself into keeping things locked up inside.

She walked down the corridor, heading back towards the reception. She gave Talon a smile as she stopped, deciding whether she would take a look around the classrooms to find out where she had to go at the end of the week, or whether she would take a walk outside and get some fresh air. The outside won, and a few minutes later she was walking in the moonlight.

Wandering around, she took in the scenery, in the dim light. There was something about walking outside alone, with just nature there as company. She found a bench, one that was slightly obscured by a tall tree and sat, closing her eyes, as she wondered what this year would bring, and whether she would make any friends during her time here. That had always been one of her main problems; she made friends but never seemed to keep them. Once they found out she was a freak they tended to avoid her like the plague.

Xavier chuckled a bit, and Alira passed her hand over his shoulder. He looked up to her for a brief moment, the two locking eyes. Alira proceed toward Nya, and Xavier was left to Jade. He smirked as she spoke. Don’t worry, he said softly, his voice extremely soothing. It happens. I’m glad to hear that you are in my Telekenetics class. If you are interesting in healing, I wouldn’t mind giving you a private lesson after Telekenetics are over, perhaps for one hour after class? His soft sea green eyes looked at her through the wisps of his white hair. He really did have a charming personality.

Nya looked at him for a brief second. The rumors couldn’t be true. She watched as Alira approached her, not wishing to speak, but rather to simply enjoy company. Jade smiled softly.

“Alira,” she murmured. “What exactly is your relation with…” Alira raised her eyebrow, and Nya was interrupted from asking the question by students approaching. She dismissed it under her breath, and began to make her way toward the back of the room. Alira shrugged in response, not wishing to delve into her mind. She really didn’t know what she was asking, but knew the question would come later.

"You would really do that?" spoke Jade, in excitement. "I would appreciate that very much. With both of my classes being a good distance away from each other, time-wise, I'd love to take on more responsibility. Of course though, I hope that the extra lessons won't inconvenience you in any way. I certainly don't want to add on to your work load, as it is."

A lot of different thoughts went across her mind, though she couldn't seem to get a grasp on any of them. It was as if these speedy thoughts were unattainable. She knew, however, that if she does take the private lesson for healing, that she'll be much closer to attaining her main goal in life, to heal others as much as she wished that she could be healed. Though, there was a difference between physical healing and mental healing.

"Just the thought of being able to be counted on for such a thing would make me so proud of who I am."

She gave a great smile to Xavier, being as happy as she has been in a long time. Things were starting to turn to her favor. Life was getting... good.

Patrick sat halfway into the ballroom, seated in the middle of the row and with his arms crossed as he listened to the teachers introduce themselves. As the speakers droned on, he lost interest, and chose to look up through the windows that formed most of the roof. He watched as clouds rolled with idylic movements, and reflected some of the light of the world back to the view of any eyes that cared to look. As he sat there, his eyes shifted to the left a little bit, and he watched as a moon, nearly full emerged slowly, but remained hidden behind clouds.

The scene reminded him of a dream he had a year ago. It had been a troubling dream, and yet, he remembered every detail. Closing his eyes, he recalled the images to his mind.

Twelve children, dressed in clothing resembling the times of the Middle Ages, dancing about in a circle, singing an ancient song in Celtic. The sunlight shone on the western horizon, rapidly sinking into the bitter cold Atlantic Ocean. To the east, the moon rose like a lunar pheonix to take command of the skies above the earth as its brother slept in the confines of darkness.

And then there was a ferocious howling that scattered birds in every direction from the nearby forests. The children froze and turned to stare at the forest in fear, wonder. As they watched, a massive wolf, or so it seemed, emerged, releasing another challenging howl. Seconds later, it was answered by a roar never before heard in the Emerald Isle...

The children huddled together in fear, as they turned their eyes to the other forest on the other side of the village. They could not believe their eyes as a mysterious beast stepped into the moonlight, its pale white fur with black stripes reflecting the light of the moon clearly.

The two beasts of the night neared closer, the tension of battle impending on the minds of the observing children. With compounding roars of wolf and tiger, the two beasts suddenly found themselves snapping, clawing and fighting the other. Blood sprayed in every direction as wounds were inflicted with ferocious impact. The sickening crunch of teeth on bone was heard clearly to the children as they watched the tiger clamp down on the exposed throat of the wolf, its claws shredding the torso and spilling dark crimson blood over its white fur. The tiger forced the wolf to the ground, now with all four feet ripping into the wolf's body, rendering it dead soon enough. It shattered the skull with a mighty bite, before releasing it.

The children looked from afar in horror as the wolf suddenly grew pale, its fur disappearing, its face morphing into that of a bloodied, crushed and thoroughly defeated and murdered man. The tiger rose its face to the moon and roared its victory to all the world.

The children screamed at long last, turning and fleeing into their homes...

The sounds of chairs moving, and footsteps moving past brought Patrick out of his slight doze and he rose from his seat and took silently to the aisle, giving one last glance to the group of teachers standing at the fore of the ballroom.

He departed the room, and made his way down a hall, to a doorway exiting the building. As the door closed behind him, he looked up to the skies and cleared his throat slightly. Turning his head downward once more, he spied another fountain, this one smaller than the one he had seen in the front of the Academy. It was by this fountain a bench sat, made of stone and wood, offering a place of solitude to contemplate whatever thoughts might traverse through any person's mind.

And so he sat, refusing the inner desire to take his lycanthropic state and roam the grounds of the Academy. Instead, he stared into the fountain's water, shooting jets upward and arching back down into the collective pool.

Joshua hadn't taken a seat. Like every year he stood in the back watching with his arms crossed and leaning against the back wall. He wasn't much for introductions and decided to save it for the day of the classes he would take to introduce himself to the teachers. He turned and left the ball room to wander the grounds in some futile attempt to escape the memory flow that had started to appear in his mind.
After a few minutes of slowly wandering he had unknowningly ended up at the AC room, the room where his life took on new meaning. He winced slightly as he recalled the exact spot of his "death" and his hand moved to the place the blade tore through his flesh and left him unable to move against the wall. Had Rave not come at that time he would have been dead, just a meal for Qui.
After the short strole to the AC room he turned and walked back towards the dorm rooms. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep, yet he knew he had to deal with the memories the room brought back. As he finaly reached the door he stopped, feeling the sorrow begin to well up inside, and slowly backed towards the stairs again. I miss you so much, he thought aloud, no one would understand what he was thinking anyways. He turned and walked quickly towards the more open grounds all at the same time attempting to surpress the memories.
The open grounds was one of the few places he felt at ease in the whole academy, a place where no memory flows got to him because nothing had happened here (other than the time he sacked Qui and launched him through a wall). He slowly began to wander looking up at the sky and not realy looking in what direction he was headed.

It would be no trouble at all. For like you, I have a distance between classes. He set his hand on her shoulder. I must leave you now. I do have many things to attend to at this point and time. I am pleased you have an interest in healing. I can tell you have a strong spirit. He smiled, and walked toward the back door, exiting out of the door. He passed Talon on the way, and exits through a side door. He passes the fountain, making his way down to the lake. He glances from side to side. No one in their right mind would be out here this night. He removed his shirt exposing a toned torso. He closed his eyes and brilliant black wings shot from his back, unfurling out to either side in a glorious display.

He looked up at the moonlight, and knew the students would be heading to their dorm rooms soon. He looked at the cool reflection of the water, and then toward the sky. It was very peaceful. It wasn’t often that he exposed his wings, but he stretched his arms over his head, and let the cool night air flow through the feathers. Suddenly, a hand reached up from the water, and pulled him into the lake. Bewildered, he struggled a bit, his wings contracting wildly until he was pulled under. The surface of the water became smooth for several seconds, until Xavier’s head emerged. Across from him was a woman with deep blue hair and light blue skin. He coughed promptly, and glared at her.

“What the hell do you think your doing?!” he said hurriedly, actually parting his lips to speak rather than through his mind.

“What? You wouldn’t care for a swim dear?” she said, her voice raspy and foreboding. Her black eyes looked at him with ferality. “What’s wrong? Am I not your type?” He scoffed at her and backhanded her across the face, but she dissolved into the water. “Oh that’s right…you prefer the bloodsucker instead…” Xavier felt a painful rush shoot through his arm, and saw a bit of his own blood rise from the water. He immediately focused on the source, and grabbed her by the neck, hoisting her back up above the surface.

“You speak like that of her again, I’ll have no problem killing you,” he sneered, and tightened his grip. She cringed.

“She is using you, my dear. Such beauty you possess should not be wasted on a vampire. All she can do is take from you, that precious angelic blood you carry.” With these words, she writhed from his grip and settled back down, invisible now in the cold water. He felt a cold wisp run up his leg, and he contracted his wings, pulling him out of the water before he could be caught.

“Watch your words around me. The only reason I don’t kill you now is because she still has some trust in you. Don’t betray her. You and I will never happen. Let it drop. If you hurt her in anyway…I will take your life and send you to hell.” He focused his mind on the water, but she was already gone. He caught his breath and stood up, retracting his wings once more, and taking his shirt from the ground. Water fell from his body, his hair, however, remained damp. He slid his shirt on over his head, and sat down five feet from the bank, trying to regain his composure.

From her seat, Aurelia had been surprised to see so many other people take a walk, but then it was a very pleasant evening, and why did she think that she would be the only one wanting some time alone to get her thoughts in order. She rose from the bench, her eyes following one of the professors, who she placed as the feather giver, and smiled, as she watched him disappear into the distance, her mind briefly wondering what he was up to, until she realised it was none of her business.

She walked a little way around, silently berating herself for her curiosity. Moving around the building she spotted one of the students, or she assumed he was, as he had not been up on the stage. He seemed to be lost in thought, so she crept passed him quietly so as not do disturb his peace, as she continued her walk.

Patrick was brought out of his contemplative state by the passing of one of the teachers. The man was walking away from the Academy, as if he were heading somewhere and nowhere in particular. Strangely, the man didn't seem to notice Patrick sitting by the fountain either.

Xavier...wasn't that his name he gave? he thought to himself as he watched the man move away. Rising to his feet, he followed, with the intention to ask the teacher some more questions about the Academy. However, Xavier's actions by the pond caused Patrick to seek out a place to hide and watch.

He watched as black wings unfurled and spread to their lengths, and then suddenly a humanoid arm rose from the water and yanked the angelic into its depths. Patrick blinked in surprise, unsure of what to do. However, before he could decide, Xavier's head could be seen bobbing on the surface as he confronted the woman who had pulled him in. Their voices carried just barely enough for Patrick to hear, even with his lycanthropic senses.

At last, Xavier emerged from the water and settled down on the bank of the lake, his back to the Irishman. Patrick remained for a few more minutes, then silently stole away to safety, to his room.

"Thanks again, sir." she replied, right as he was making his way out of the orientation room. She looked at him, and felt good energy coming from his presence. That was a rarity, especially with the people that Jade has run into. She looked around and smiled at everyone else that remained in the room, then she departed. Jade wanted to take a look around the building, as well as catch a glimpse of the scenery outside, but for now, she was going to need to take her stuff to her room, and make herself at home, here at the Academy. She was quite eager to get to know some of the students, but wasn't exactly sure how to greet them. Having similar classes with quite a few of them would certainly help, conversation-wise.

Once she arrived at her room, she immediately unpacked her clothing into one of the dressers. For a few minutes though, she sat on her bed, caught up in thought. She didn't even have any specific thought on her mind, but she was just happy to be here.

After unpacking and resting for five minutes on her bed, Jade decided to go walking around the Academy for a bit, just to get familiar with her new settings, and to know where her classes are, so she opened her door, looked around the area around her room, then began to walk back towards the main entrance.

Moroka stood in the back of the pack against the wall, watching the whole orientation. He knew what to expect, more or less, from the extensive files the Empire had on this place. He tried to ignore the fact that every single Imperial citizen that came to this nation, save one(and technically he wasn't saved), died a quite violent death shortly thereafter.

Walking up to the the demoness, Hesione, after the orientation was finished he nodded. "Never sparred with a demon before. Worked with them... but never actually fought." He says, voice rather deep and gravelly, allmost seeming not to fit him. His blue eyes also seemed out of place, almost glowing when the light struck them.

Michael's trip to the school was hardly interesting, the flight itself was a rather simple low cost affair though thankfully it was comfortable enough for a quick nap as they made their way to the stange and magical world of Rave Shentavo. He spent most of his time concidering his previous experiences and how Daedalis had made everything that much more enjoyable, with any luck she would be attending this year as there would no longer be as many barriers stopping them from growing closer...

The taxi to the Academy wasn't much better, Rave Shentavo was clearly still in the memory of many of the locals who remembered her greatness after which the nation had been named... the stories were interesting, but ultimately it didn't make much sense to Michael, sounding more like a fairy tale then an account of history. Still, the driver was friendly enough and he told a good story never the less.

Arriving at the gates themselves, Michael paid the driver and got his relatively small amount of luggage out of the boot of the cab and made his way down the path. The grounds were much nicer then he remembered as the summer flowers were in full bloom, the long walk was rather pleasant as he got closer to the front doors.

Greeting him was a fairly attractive woman in a black suit with long blonde hair, for a moment Michael figured she was one of the students as the idea that one of the teachers was human didn't register at first, but when she introduced herself it was clear he was wrong. She was nice enough and simply greeted him and shown him to the front desk.

Sitting at the front desk was a stern looking man, his right hand mad of metal and his bright red hair unnaturally standing up in a almost shocking manner. The hand reminded him of an old drill sergeant from boot camp, the kind of man who was dependable to kick your ass if you got out of line. He simply gave Michael the keys for his dormitory and left him to his business... Michael was at his third year here now and even though he wasn't here for long he knew his way enough.

After getting signed in and unpacking, Michael sat down at the orientation and listened to the rules and the introductions from each teacher at the Academy... so far he hadn't noticed Daedalis, perhaps she was late. Michael simply shrugged and listened intently, not wanting to miss any information.

Now that the orientation was finished, Michael figured he would get himself something to drink from the Starbucks which was installed the year before... he wasn't really a coffee drinker but he was sure they would do a nice hot chocolate for him if he asked...

"Could I have a large hot-chocolate please?" He asked, politely. Michael currently wore a fairly simple green short sleaved shirt and a pair of black pants... at least it wasn't the fatigues he wore last year but he didn't have much in the way of imagination. His hair was a short military crop more for easy maintainance then style with his skin slightly tanned from the warmth of Iuthia's climate.

"Would you like chocolate sprinkles with that?" They didn't make a fuss about his use of the word large, even though they weren't called 'large' it was clear what he meant.

"Yes, thanks." he replied, smiling innocently like he often did. Michael lived a charmed life, sheltered from many of the nastier events in Iuthia, his town was dominated by the near by military base, which pretty much assured him a life in the military... he didn't know much more though the Academy made for an interesting break from home and the dull, happy existance of he enjoyed there.

A moment later Michael sat down at one of the tables drinking his hot-chocolate, concidering the times ahead of him... who knows what the academy has in store this year, at least this time he'll have the full experience and not a short stint...

After the orientation, Trevor walked outside. This is gonna be tougher than I thought. Three straight days of classes. He wandered outside without greeting any of the staff or students, plenty of time for that later. He walked aimlessly through the darkened gardens. Night was Trevor's favorite time. When the world was dark and quiet, and he could walk through it observing without being noticed. Something about the dark was comforting to him, like a blanket. Maybe because he didn't rely entirely on his eyes as most "normal" people did, but ngiht was when he felt most at home.

As he padded silently past a large bush, a splash reached his ears, and he heard the muffled sounds of speech. He peered out through the plants to see two of the teachers sitting in the fountain. He would have assumed it was nothing, but for the expression on the face of Xavier. Whatever just happened, he doesn't appreciate it. Trevor made a mental note of conflict between those two teachers, then turned and walked away through the gardens. It'll be interesting to see how this affects their classes.

He continued to stroll around, and almost bumped into another student as the each walked around a corner at the same time. As he quickly apologized, Trevor thought he recognized her as the one he'd overheard introducing herself as Aurelia. He held out his hand. "I'm Trevor, this is my first year here at the Acadamy."

Sil had taken a seat as close to the wall as possible during the orientation. She had come to the conclusion that it was very unlikely for any assassins to be here right now but the fear hadn't completely vanished. And she had never liked crowds like this; too many unknown faces, too many vectors to cover. And hindering her body from adapting the others' shapes was exhausting.

So she was glad when the orientation ended. Sil didn't spend much time on observing the other students; she knew that every important aspect of their appearences had been stored away in that still strange part of her mind. If she wanted she could turn her body and face and clothing into that of every single student or teacher within a second. Though it wouldn't be very convincingly. She hadn't learned those little unique manerisms.

But she didn't want to stay and learn; not tonight. The fear was still too deep, though far away from the panic she had felt before.
Back to the room and lock the door behind you. Calm down and observe. If there's an assassin (and the more she thought about it the larger an If it became) he won't know who you are. You've changed your bodies often enough on the way here to make sure that no one could follow you. Observe and stay alarmed; and if there's an assassin, then kill him before he kills you. Alright? Alright.

Sil left the ball room, heading for room 13. Again and again her brown eyes flitted from one side to the other and back. Whatever she had told herself, she was still obviously nervous.

Joshua's thought pattern grew extremly erratic as he attempted to rationalize the past and come to some conclusion that he could have done something to save his lover, Kenja, from Qui. Yet this conlusion never came. If Qui were here right now he was sure that he would be enjoying every moment of Joshua's hopeless attempt to save someone who had died years ago.

After finaly coming to the conclusion that it was hopeless to even bother trying anymore he began to turn back to the main cluster of buildings attempting to repress the memories of seeing her body just laying there lifeless. The fact that he had started to think of preposing to her that year made the emotional impact far worse.
He slowly walked towards the outdoor pool and feel into one of the chairs. Of the three places you could always find him (the first being his dorm and second being the infermery) he sighed quietly as he tried to relax again.

. Hesione eyed Moroka, and gave him an unconvincing half smile. “You’ll get a chance to all in good time. I expect to see you in my class, I’m assuming.” She tussled her red hair with her fingertips, and eyed the student once more. “It’s not necessary that you fight the professor, but other students will be expected. There is always a way to opt out of any class, and that is to beat the instructor at a task, spar, or challenge. The classes I wouldn’t recommend trying would be Manavex and my class, though it is doable if you listen to what is said in class. Few people ever pick up on it.” Hesione turned from the student, and managed to break through the lingering crowd to head to her room.

Xavier stood up from the bank, his composure regained. He made his way around campus. He needed a long walk after what had just happened. Thoughts raged in his mind. He reached in his pocket and took out a pack of wet cigarettes. He took one out, and the water leeched itself from it, and fell to the ground. He took out his lighter, and lit it. He brought it to his mouth an inhaled deeply. To be completely honest, he had no idea of what to make of his emotions. So many words were left unsaid; it grew harder to speak of the matter. He was trapping himself.

Continuing her walk, not quite ready to retire, as she did not have a lesson the following day, Aurelia made her way around the outside of the building, enjoying the lonely darkness of the night. It was always good to be on her own, to clear her thoughts, to let herself go a little. She picked a leaf from a bush, and made it dance just above her hand, almost as if it was caught in a tiny breeze that was focused just in the one area.

She smiled to herself as she made it do little flips and turns, spinning, rising and falling. She continued with the game for a little while, until her thoughts were interrupted by the voice of one of the students, who she nearly collided with. Looking up, she gave him a smile, taking his offered hand, while the leaf tumbled into her other palm.

“Hello, Trevor. I’m Aurelia, Aurelia Joisse.” She let go of his hand and stood looking at him, as if she was memorising his face or adding some details into her memory. “This is my first year too. What are you studying?”

Joshua looked up at the sky and sighed quietly once again. His train of thought had finaly started to slow down enough to let him recover from the emotional attacks that the memories had launched.
He started to close his eyes slowly only to hear a voice he hadn't heard in so long.
Kenja? No...it's just a memory...a bad dream
Then is this a memory? the voice replied as he felt his hand being held.
No stop toying with me! This is fake. THIS ISN'T REAL!
It was all it took but he awoke once again breathing heavily and his flesh becoming pale.
"No...it was all fake..," he muttered in between breaths, "Just a...bad dream. Nothing more.." Even if it had been a bad dream the impact it left him with was easy to see on his face. He quickly began to climb out of the chair and walk quickly back to his room trying to understand the dream. When he was finaly behind the confines of the four walls that he knew so well he stumbled into the bathroom and turned on the cold water tap on the sink full blast and he began to splash his face trying to calm down and clean off the sweat that appeared on his face.

Joanna's travels to Rave Shentavo were as timid as any other, spending most of the time sleeping soundly as she had been taught back home. It took several moments longer then usual to fall asleep as fought to settle her heart down from the excitement of knowing she would be attending such a prestigious and above all interesting school... were it not for her training she wouldn't have gotten any sleep at all.

Finally arriving at the School, she signed in quickly (being a little late for the Orientation) and dumped her stuff off in her room, the number on the door being three, putting her near many of the other girls. In contrast to Michael who seemed to be very unimaginate with his casual clothing, Joanna changed out of her casual jeans and top and put on a fairly simple long white dress... it was decent in that it didn't really reveal anything, but like many Iuthian designs it promoted simplicity in order to enhance and concentrate more on the wearers natural looks, basically resulting in a good quality simply long white dress, not quite formal but not quite casual. Brushing her long fair hair Joanna simply left it flowing down her just below her shoulders, using a white ribon to keep it in orderly as was the style in Iuthia currently. Despite the fact she was techincally an adult in Iuthia, Joanna was still rather shorter then most the others at the academy, only just being taller then five foot, however this was expected to be the case at home as Iuthian-Elves were naturally more delicate then humans and shorter on average... still, Joanna had gotten used to it.

The orientation itself was rather exciting... the idea of telekenetics became even more interesting as one of the teachers seemed to talk without moving his lips, his voice seemlying coming from everywhere and nowhere at once. Everything was rather facinating. Towards the end of the orientation Joanna found herself full of questions as she obversed everything using her IDC trained petit perception, noticing even some mild quirks in others around her. However, most of the teachers seemed rather hen-pecked as Joanna watched the other students getting their chance to speak to them... not that it mattered, she would be here all year and things would be explained in time as part of her lessons.

So, taking her leave, Joanna figured that now would be a good time to get familiar with the lay-out of the Academy. She had never been in such a beautiful building before as the Iuthian standard was to build fortifiable structures and not to impress people with aesthetics and decor... the complete change in design only further enforced the idea that she would learn more her then she would ever learn at home.

Walking around alone, Joanna made a point of introducing herself to those she was about to pass, memorising their names and their mannerisms... it was partly instict thanks to her IDC training, but mostly she wanted to get to know people. Currently she was walking down the corridor on the second floor, Joanna noticed a young woman (who still looked older then Joanna did with her pointy ears and small stature) with dark black hair walking down the corridor out of her room. Joanna hadn't got her name yet, so she introduced herself.

"Hi, I'm Joanna." she said to Jade, offering her hand along with a sincere smile. "You look a little lost, can I help you?"

Joanna didn't really know her way around the school herself much better, but her memory was rather good and she had a vague idea of where things should be... that and it gave her a good pretext to introduce herself.

Nicole stood quietly during orientation. She looked around her at the faces of the other students, wondering what was going through thier heads during that time. She groaned slightly at the mention of a Starbucks being put in. The only downside of being a vampire she could find besides not being able to walk around in the sun, was not being able to enjoy regular human food. Well, maybe with clone blood they will able to flavor it like mocha. Nicole chuckled at that thought for several seconds.

She waited paiently as the students and teachers moved around. Nicole scanned the room, remembering what Talon mentioned about some kind of blood or drink that would allow her to move around in daylight for a few days before needing a refill. She spotted Alira in the crowd and slowly made her way towards her. When Alira was not engaged in conversation, Nicole stepped forward and offered a polite smile.

Nicole decided to go for mental conversation to keep it private as much as possible.

"Ms. Shentavo, I am Nicole Patterson. I am...well...my nation only discovered vampires and other such speices less than a hundred years ago...so I am slightly oblivous to exactly who you are. I do know that you are a vampire though, but not a vampire like me. The man at the desk...Talon said that you would give me something later on. Blood I think is what he said that allowed me to move in daylight. I hope I do sound rude by saying this but...isn't that impossible for vampires to move in daylight?"

John watched her go and shook his head at her bluntness, walking in the opposite direction, to prowl the corridors.. "Well, I suppose I shouldn't be excpecting Pachino in Devil's Advocate, but still."

He wanders around the corridors of the academy, looking over the classrooms, coming to the AVC room. Flicking on the switch, he eyes the walls, covered in weapons. "At last... a report that doesn't lie." he chuckles and looks over the variety of weapons he'd get to use.

Trevor smiled slightly and brushed a few stray strands of blue hair out of his eyes as Aurelia introduced herself. He metally congratulated himself on intiating a conversation, not something that was normally one of his strengths, especially with complete strangers. I have a feeling this isn't the first time I'll have to step out of my comfort zone here, he thought.

He was also somewhat intrigued by Aurelia's playing with the leaf. While he had played little games like that with rocks or leaves countless times before, he had never seen telekenetic power used so openly before. He had always kept his skills to himself, not wanting the stigma that came with them in "normal" society. Obviously they were at a place where such things were normal, and even encouraged, but it took some getting used to. Aurelia was obviously a bit more comfortable with her powers than he, and as he looked into her eyes, there was something there that the couldn't always find in himself: simple happiness. It had been a long time since he had allowed himself to be engrossed in the simple manipulation of an object. Recently, his time had been spent on more "practical" things, and he hadn't had time to develop his abilities much.

The realization that she had asked a question and was awaiting his response suddenly surfaced in his mind, and he blinked taking a moment to bring his mind back to the here and now before speaking.
"I'll be taking telekinetics, advanced combat and acrobatics," was his reply, "I guess we share a few talents," he said with a small smile, as he moved his hand slightly and the leaf rose out of Aurelia's palm to twirl in front of her eyes.

Supping the rest of his hot chocolate down, Michael got up and threw the cup away before heading back out into the academy halls to look up places where his memories held true. Already many of the students were doing the same, getting a feel for the school they would be staying at for many months to come, but for Michael he had a few specific spots in mind.

Though it was late, Michael figured he would look up the library for a moment... but before long it was clear that it didn't really have as much use to him any more as he would be sticking mostly to the physical classes this year, that and the memory of Daedalis and the fact she wasn't here with him made him feel a little lonely. So, instead Michael figured he would get a little bit of excise and get a feel for the AVC room in which he would be spending alot of time in this year. With any luck the mats wouldn't be the same concrete affair he was used to back home as it was a common joke that the Iuthian Military bought from the lowest bidder...

Entering the room, Michael noticed that another student had already thought of checking out the area they would be studying in for the next year. Michael simply nodded his head in recognition and offered a friendly "Hello" before leaving him alone for a moment to check out the weapons. The other guy looked to be a fair bit older then Michael and certainly much more experienced then him... though at least he was human, which was some comfort as Michael would hate to think he was the only human in this class.

Looking at the weapons himself, Michael got the impression that there were some impressive martial arts experts teaching in the academy... either that or they were simply there for display but that was unlikely, this was afterall the Shentavo Academy. The room itself was easily large enough to train a platoon of men and still look empty, the centre was mostly occupied by a large training matt covering the majority of the centre, fixed in place at the moment though it was likely that it could be removed should they need to clean the blood off the covers.

It was a impressive set-up... much better then he could hope for in his home garrison, but then, Michael came from a small town and he wasn't even special operations or anything more then a private, and right now he wasn't even really that (though in the unlikely event that he died he would be buried with his rank) so it wasn't surprising this place was much better equipped.

Leaving the other man to his business, Michael figured he would test the mat and do a little exercise done to make up for all the travel he had done today. The trip here had him sitting in the same place for hours and it wasn't good for him... it would do him good to stretch out a little, starting with some basic stretches.

Walking around the edge of teh room, Moroka examined several strange weapons. the collection was more than he could hope for. While he was more inclined to look at the firearms on the walls, particularly the vintage rifles, he moved on to the strange swords as someone else entered.

John nodded at the other man and took down a particularly interesting weapon. After looking over the strange scimitar, he blinked. "I've seen this weapon before... hell, I got a scar from it." he says, looking the blade over. "How in hell did Goor's personal hunting cleaver get in here?" He is unaware that it was sent to the academy after his death.

Getting ready to start some basic push ups, Michael couldn't help but hear John talking out loud, presumably to himself. Not sure if the man was trying to engage in conversation, Michael gave a short answer, if only to be polite.

"I dunno, I figured it was just one of a collection of interesting weapons they have on display around here." he said, while doing a push-up. Having only got started he didn't pause mid-push up during his reply. "I can't say I remember it being here last year, but then, I don't remember much from last year, I was only in for a couple weeks before they pulled me back home for duty...

He didn't pry much further, leaving it to the other man to choose whether it was a conversation or not and continue to tell him exactly why the weapon was special anyways, it wasn't really Michael's business.

He placed the scimitar back and walked towards him. "He was the first citizen to come here. And attended year one of this Academy. We were... not friends. He got me good in a street fight during a terrorist attack." Pulling up a sleeve, a long scar could be seen.

Sighing, he looked around. "I guess it was willed here or something." He shrugged. "I'm John Moroka." he says, standing a few feet away.

As the other man continued on, placing the blade back onto the rack, Michael got up from his exercise to properly give the guy his full attention, so not to be rude.

Showing Michael his scar, John continued to introduce himself. The scar itself was quite a good one, sure as hell to be a hit with the ladies and only confirmed what Michael had expected; that this man had seen combat and probably plenty of it... Michael on the other hand was clearly fairly green, an unfortunate problem in the Iuthian military.

Offering his hand, he introduced himself. "Michael Willis" he said, a sincere smile on his face. "So I take it your here to see if you'll learn a few more things? I almost had you pegged as a teacher had they not already introduced them... "

Alira listened to Nicole with strict attention, and laughed a bit to herself. Oh, where to begin. “The Shentavo family was notorious for being an enhanced breed of vampire, when in actuality it wasn’t the vampiric half of them that earned the credit…it was the angelic half. Ravelyn Shentavo came to this land millennia ago. The only seraphim to ever walk here. When she was embraced, she had a battle between the vampiric blood and angelic within her. Her spirit was strong, and she managed to survive, only to grow and learn. She grew to surpass the other vampires. She had a son named Quissera, who you no doubt will be hearing about. He, coincidentally, was my father. I, however, was not as lucky as to inherit such physical angelic traits, though it is still in my blood. If you were to inject pure angelic blood within your veins, the reaction would be very unwelcome.”

She paused, observing Nicole. She normally did not give out her blood, but had been informed that there would be a vampiric student arriving. “After that little family history, you must know that the Shentavos have been granted the ability to walk in the light through their angelic side rather than their vampiric. I am the last of my bloodline sadly.” She walked over to a door, and slipped inside. After a few moments, she returned to Nicole with a vial of blood, and her lips a bit darker than before.

“Take it before sunrise in the morning, the effect will come within thirty seconds. Sunrise here is at five A.M.” she handed the small vial to Nicole. “It should last three days. After the sunset of the third day, return to myself, or Xavier, and we will supply you with more if needed.”

Sleep would be something Joshua would evade for quiet a while after his little dream. The last thing he needed was the haunting voice and the feeling of a dead lover around him. The water had somewhat helped calm his nerves and given him his composure back.

He started back out of his dorm, after quickly grabbing his glasses and putting them on, when his ears picked up the sound of a voice. He knew it wasn't a teacher or person he knew so he began to investigate. As he steped closer he noticed the two women, one of them asking if the other was lost and he laughed at the thought. "Hello," he said in a friendly tone as he walked up closer as he quickly sized them both up as well as attempted to place names to thier faces.

He had packed lightly, and so, he made a mental note to do some shopping for clothes.

After pulling out his clock, setting the alarm time for early morning, he moved to the computer. Five minutes later, he was finished browsing its programs and so he collapsed on the bed. The door remained unlocked, but if anyone tried to sneak in, they'd find him awake again within a moment.

Jimmy didn't bother to hand around and chat as he thanked Talon for his key and quickly followed brief directions towards the stair case. The building was certainly much nicer than Jimmy was used to, yet such things never really impressed him. Whether someone lived in a mansion or cardboard box, Jimmy viewed them as the same until he could learn of their nature and ideals.

A few quick glances between his key and the doors around him allowed Jimmy to successfully navigate his way through the corridors and arrive at room fourteen. Once the door was within view, Jimmy allowed the key to float ahead of him and insert itself into the key hole, easily turning and opening the door as he arrived before it.

With the orientation about to start, Jimmy didn't bother to look inside his room and merely hurled his bag through the door before closing the door and pocketing the key. Within a few more minutes he found himself within the massive hall, comfortably sitting within the back row, listening to the instructor's introductions.

Jimmy waited silently as the teachers spoke of themselves and the classses, going through the standard stuff that Jimmy had thought he'd left behind over two hundred years ago. Alas, it seemed one could never escape the role of student.

The only character that particularly interested Jimmy was Xavier. If it wasn't for the oppurtunity to increase his psychic abilities, Jimmy wouldn't be here in the first place and so it made sense that the telekinetics instructor would be a person of interest. And so he was, being half angelic. Jimmy had encountered divine forces before yet never anything in physical form. It would certainly prove interesting.

With the orientation over, Jimmy didn't hang around and decided to go for a wander around the hallways, noting everything that he passed with a blank expression. After years of living alone, Jimmy felt no need to seek out a companion.

Nicole listened intently to Alira. She found it interesting that vampire and angel blood could mix in the way Alira described. Both were complete opposites and yet the angel got the upper hand to produce a very different breed of vampire. She wondered if Stephen knew who the Shentavos were, he probably heard the name but nothing more. Nicole could only imagine what the reaction of injecting pure angelic blood into her. She imagined something like being hit by sunlight, but being burned from the inside out.

She took the vial and stared at it. Nothing different about if from the outside, Nicole didn't know why she had expected a different colored blood.

"Thank you very much Ms. Shentavo. I will put this in my room to keep it safe."

Nicole bowed her head slightly in respect to Alira before making her way through the crowd and back to her room. She carefully placed the vial on the desk and set the alarm to 4:00am. One hour to wake up and shower before seeing her first sunrise.

Nicole headed back downstairs and decided to explore the halls. As she turned a corner, she bumped into a black haired human. Nicole stopped and looked at him, slightly embarassed.

"I am terribly sorry about that. I didn't see you. I take it you are a student...I'm Nicole."

Jimmy hadn't really been paying much attention to the space before him and his gaze completely overlooked Nicole, walking straight into her. Immediately the young lady began to apologise yet Jimmy remained silent as he gazed upon her. The human almost seemed insane with his unruly hair and intense gaze. Finally it dawned upon him. The face, the eyes, she wasn't right.

"Vampire."

It wasn't a question. Jimmy was sure of it and immediately he defences sprung into alert, the air almost crackling with the mental power Jimmy had called to the ready. Whilst appearing rude, Jimmy couldn't really care less. He'd been brought up to fear vampires as a boy and that had always stuck with him. Whilst he no longer feared them, he was certainly wary of their kind and didn't trust them a bit.

A few moments of silence passed and Jimmy realised she didn't appear to be hostile at all, in fact she was quite young and didn't sound Assingtonian at all. That was a good sign, Assingtonian vampires tended to be... unpleasant.

"Ah. Yeh, I am a student of sorts. I'm Jimmy."

Jimmy's face didn't show much expression as he conversed with Nicole. All that time in his cave had left him quite inept when it came to social activities. Jimmy was confident in himself, yet he didn't hold any confidence in others.

Watching the leaf come back to life before her, Aurelia giggled, for the first time not feeling as abnormal as she usually did. She had never known anyone who could do the same thing. “It does indeed.” Her laughter died, leaving her with her first totally genuine smile since she had been at the academy, as her eyes flicked between the boy’s face and the leaf. “I hope it isn’t breaking the rules. I just find it kind of relaxing.” She focused again on the leaf, happy to leave Trevor to make it dance.

“I’m taking Manavex and Manipulations and Lore and Languages.” She looked at him, her gaze fixing on his blue hair. “I…ah…I’ve never met people like the ones that come here before. In fact, I’ve never really met anyone who could do this kind of thing before.” She met his eyes again, and smiled. “I don’t normally put on a show and stuff, as it stops people thinking I’m a freak or something.” She paused, realising she probably was not doing a good job at making a new friend here.

Jade looked over at the woman who had begun to walk towards her. She was in shock that someone actually talked to her. Her fear of being completely ignored by the rest of the students was now gone, with this introduction.

"Hi, I'm Joanna." she said to Jade, offering her hand along with a sincere smile. "You look a little lost, can I help you?"

Jade smiled and extended her hand out to Joanna. "My name is Jade, and yes, I am a bit lost in here. I really don't know where anything is," she gave out a small chuckle. "Have you been here before? This place seems gigantic. After a few years at going here, I still probably won't have an idea of where I'm going." she noted.

Immediately after she spoke, she notice a young man walk into the hallway and towards Jade and Joanna. He walked closer to them, and greeted them.

"Hello there. I'm Jade. What's your name?" she questioned.

Nicole backed up slightly as she felt the surrounding air change. She knew the man knew she was a vampire. She had been hoping to go on longer without people noticing and hoping that there would not be a violent reaction to her. She readied herself for action but when the human began to relax, so did she. Nicole's human behavior and the fact she hadn't made the man dinner probably was the reason why there was no fighting. Be a bad way to start off your first day with a fight.

Nicole smiled at Jimmy. Her fangs lowered from her top row of teeth and took thier place.

"Yes, I am a vampire. You don't have to worry about me feeding on you or anyone else here. I am far more human than vampire really. I have never killed a human for food and don't intend to."

Nicole hoped that would calm the human a bit more and raised her fangs. She then changed the subject.

"What classes will you be taking this year?"

The statement claiming to have never killed a human in feeding came as a shock to Jimmy and it showed upon his face clearly. He didn't really believe Nicole, yet there was something about her manner that seemd honest and relatively nice. Jimmy couldn't quite place it and he wasn't about to open up to some vampiric stranger anyway. Defences still up and ready, he managed a reply.

"That's good. An attempt at feeding upon me could not end well."

There was a slight air of threat about Jimmy's comment, yet it was not overly hostile and came across more as some significant advice.

"I'll be taking Telekinetics and Acrobatics. Should be interesting to see whether this Xavier has anything of use to tell us..."

John just chuckled at that, sounding quite gravelly, deeper and rougher than his voice, which was quite low and scratchy. "Nice to meet you... I'm taking AVC and that lore course. I figure if I don't get something out of AVC, I'll get something out of learning a new language."

He took the hand. "I probably could be a teacher here. Maybe next year." He ginned, four strange fang-like teeth showing. "I've seen enough action to qualify, I think."

Clearly Jade was a fair bit taller then the Iuthian elf, who only stood at five foot tall, but Joanna had long gotten used to the size difference between herself and other humans. "Not to worry, Jade, this is my first year too but I've got a good memory. I could show you around." Joanna assured her.

At that point another student could be heard coming down the corridor, both the girls turned to greet him. He was a sharp looking young man wearing glasses, his hair dark with a hint of hazel, his eyes and stance betraying to Joanna a sense of age despite his apparent youth... he seemed odd, but then, this was a school of Magic.

Jade introduced herself to the man first, asking his name.

While fanged teeth used to automatically mean that Michael wasn't dealing with a human, things had changed conciderably in Iuthia since he had last came to the Shentavo academy... Travelling to Iuthia Prima, Iuthia's capitol city, Michael had seen the occasional person sporting fangs which were later revealed to be something of a fashion statement, cyberware implantation becoming more common these days. However, John probably wasn't sporting a pair of fangs because he was trying to look cool... there was probably more to him then meets the eye, but then, that was always the case in the Shentavo Academy.

"Good to meet you too, John." he replied in earnest. Finishing the handshake. "I'm taking AVC too, if only because my superiours back home want to see what they get back... I only hope I can keep up with everyone."

Michael sighed slightly, thinking something over in his mind for a moment. "Anyways, I'll probably see you in our first lesson together, I got a few other places I want to check out before I hit the bunk, so I'll seeya around."

And with that Michael left John to finish what he was doing, it occured to Michael again that perhaps he was a little too mundane for the Shentavo Academy... everyone else had some underlying quality. He would just have to work that bit harder to keep up.

Nicole picked up Jimmy's words, figuring that any human would try to be a bit defensive when faced with a vampire. Her pale face brightened slightly as he mentioned telekenitics and acrobatics.

"I guess we will be classmates the Jimmy."

Nicole looked at her watch. She wanted to be well rested for her first day of school and seeing her first sunrise. She was also feeling her gut twist and her fangs lower.

"I gotta run Jimmy. I am going to turn in...got a big day tomorrow. See you later."

With that Nicole turned and headed back through the halls. When she reached her room, she promptly bit into the bloodstone and fed. Nicole slowly undressed and closed the curtains on her window.

Curling up in her bed, Nicole fell asleep, exciting about seeing the sun again.

"I know how that is," Trevor continued to play with the leaf as he spoke. "This is my first time around other people like, well people like us. I'm hoping I can learn a little more than the coursework though."

Trevor had noticed her looking at his hair. After two decades of having hair and eyes unlike anyone else's, he'd gotten used to being stared at, and could easily recognize when someone was looking at him. "As you've noticed, I don't exactly have a normal human appearance here," he said, running a hand over his eyes and hair, "I'm hoping I can shed a little light on my past."

"I like this place, we're all free from the strain of trying to be normal. We can just do whatever comes naturally, like playing with a leaf." He smiled as he allowed it to settle back into Aurelia's palm. "I have to be going now," Trevor covered a yawn with his hand. "It's been a busy day and I don't want to be late for my first day of class tomorrow." He turned and began walking back toward the building. John was indeed human, though he wasn't anywhere near a normal one. He nods. "I look forward to it." He turns and goes back to looking over the collection, studying the details of the ones that jumped out at him.

He finally took down one of the firearms, an old revolver, from the wall and looked it over, raising it up and dry firing it once, "Sweet." he said and put it back.

He removed his jacket, shirt and shoes, then grabbed a sword from the wall, warming up. He knew it was late, but didn't care. As he swung the plain scimitar around, he started to get into a rythem. If anyone came in, he would not notice. They would see the rather elaboarte tattoo on his back, depicting a black fist holding a staff. Scars would be seen sproadicly on his torso, one being the round scar of a rifle round on his ribs.

Joanna easily picked up on the correction, hell she didn't even need to have IDC training to get the impression this guy had something to hide, but she wasn't about to push into it as Joshua clearly didn't want to talk about it. Instead, Joanna smiled innocently as she replied.

"Joanna Fie'lorn, pleased to meet you too..." she said, her tone of voice completely hiding her intrigue in the mans secret. She had learned a few things before she came here at the very least. "I come from Iuthia...

"I don't suppose this is your first year here too? Jade and I were thinking of looking around and only one of us memorised where things are supposed to be, but it would be rather helpful if you could show us around." Joanna asked, picking up on the way Joshua seemed to know where he was going when he walked... while Joanna was clearly the youngest (and shortest) of the three, her talents were not so much magical or supernatural, but simply highly perceptive. The IDC trained their pupils to observe and analyse everything from the stance, tone and wording used during conversation, the idea being to train highly skilled diplomats, something Iuthia had gotten rather good at in the last decade or so, it was kinda useful, though it did tend to creep some people out.

Meanwhile, Michael went for a short stroll outside of the academy, taking in some of the spots he remembered from the previous years, enjoying the lavish scenery. The Shentavo Academy sure knew how to give their students a good learning environment, clearly cost wasn't an issue as the school itself was supposed to be for talented students...

Michael shrugged, and put it out of his mind. Tomorrow the first lessons would start proper and everyone would be too busy to worry too much about such things. Keeping to himself for the rest of the walk, Michael went back to his room on the second floor and got himself some sleep, he would be up early tomorrow as always to get his morning excercise... barracks or no, he wasn't going to break that habit, he needed to stay in shape this year to keep up with the supernaturals.

Jade looked at Vir very oddly. The stutter at sharing his name with herself and Joanna was easily catchable. Immediately, she looked at Joanna, quite confused, and continued to listen to him talk. He probably picked the absolute worse people to make that mistake with, having to do with both of the women's powers.

She awaited Joanna's response, and as soon as she finished, she began to speak.

"I am from Arcadia, in Euroslavia." she replied.

Immediately, Jade wasn't sure if she would be able to trust this Vir character as much as she had hoped for. First impressions were everything now-a-days, though no one would actually admit it. She knew that Joanna had picked up something odd from Vir as well, seeing as Jade is efficiently trained in reading peoples energies. She felt ..different vibrations from Vir. The longer she listened and watched Joshua, the more Joanna could see that he was deperately avoiding any identifying questions while trying to learn more about Jade and herself... normally Joanna would put it down to trying to sound mysterious so he could get their numbers, but it seemed unlikely due to his mannerisms.

Still, Joanna didn't really care that much about the man's secret for the moment and instead focussed on being friendly and polite.

"Telekenetics, Advanced Combat and Acrobatics... you know, some of the more interesting subjects. I would have gone for Manavex as well, but I'm rather new to the idea of magic so I thought I would learn to walk before I learned to run..." Considering the hour and the class he had the next day, Jimmy decided it would be best to call it a night and made the quick walk back to his dorm. Tomorrow would settle his doubtfulness regarding this place and what he could learn, Telekinetics was first up.

Right after Joanna told Joshua the classes that she was taking, Jade took the time to chime in and say what she was taking.

"I'm taking Telekenetics and Lore and Language. I actually was going to take the Manavex class as well, but decided against it last minute because of the fact that I wanted to start off slow, and not burn myself out on everything. In time, I'll have my opportunity to take the class."

Jade realized that the time was getting late, and that she really wanted to get a good nights' rest before her first class tomorrow. She made a suggestion for Joshua and Joanna.

"For now, it's probably best for us to head to bed. It's getting late, and we certainly should be as prepared for our first class as we'll ever be. You never know what Xavier might make us do. Perhaps we could start the tour tomorrow?" Jade looked at Joanna specifically, since she was going to be joining her in the Telekenetics class. She personally didn't want herself and Joanna to be poor performers tomorrow, and had hopes that they both could help each other to do the best that they could.

Jade also began to wonder if Joanna could read her thoughts. She never asked her specifically what her abilities were. As not to scare her, Jade simply sent a short sentence to Joanna, in hope that she could return it.

Yawning slightly, Joanna continued. "I'd love to continue this tomorrow morning, so I'll catch up with you then after my routine." she turned to Joshua who hadn't gotten a chance to say much for a moment, probably to his delight, "You too, Joshua, I'll see you tomorrow. Good night."

As they prepared to head their rooms, Joanna heard Jade say something about Joshua, turning to look at her again she simply looked at her for a moment, as Joshua didn't seem to hear it.

"Er... ok, Jade. Sweet dreams." she replied, her tone betraying her confusion. Unfortunately, telepathy wasn't something Joanna had quite got used to yet, nor had she learned much about it. Despite her odd feelings and energy coming from Joshua, she didn't want to seem impolite. Perhaps the feelings that she had were wrong. She certainly wouldn't want to seem very shallow. For now, she was going to give Vir the respect that he deserved, like every student deserved.

Waking up from a fitful sleep, Aurelia was not surprised to find several items around her room had moved during the night. Realising that she had skipped dinner the night before, she was not surprised to hear her stomach growl loudly, as it begged to be filled. Grabbing her jacket, which she folded over her arm, she checked her pocket for money and headed out of her room, looking for the food hall.

Entering, she saw that the place was still quiet. This was either because everyone else was at class or she had overslept not having to get up for a class that day. She ordered her food and carried it over to an empty table, seeing only the student she had passed during her stroll the previous day. With all the students safely in their rooms, Alira walked the halls, and looked out the windows of the observatory. Everything seemed so peaceful. She watched Xavier returning from a walk, his hair a bit damn. She tilted her head. It was very unlikely for him to be swimming. He hated the water. She pulled a black cloak around her figure, and walked downstairs to the first floor. Talon’s eyes were open, but she knew that he would not detect her presence, for she made no sound. Her long auburn hair was allowed to fall freely over the back of her cloak as her moonlit eyes scanned Xavier. She passed through the door and met him at the front. She ran her hand through his hair. “What exactly happened?”

He was a bit surprised that she had appeared before him, and not really sure what to say. She tilted her head, to which he gave no response. He looked at the ground for a moment, and his sight bore into her eyes. Nothing. Nothing for you to worry about Alira. As he looked at her, he felt a tightening in his throat, and excused himself to his room. She looked after him until he vanished down the corridor, and she sat down by the lake. It was not soon after that Jade had come and joined her.

“Can’t sleep Alira?” she offered, and chuckled a bit. Jade’s blonde hair was now taken down, and the curly blond strands glistened. “Ah, you are the nocturnal one. My mistake. Are you all right?” The acrobatics instructor got a shrug for a reply. “Well, I suppose there is no sense dealing with trying to get anything out of you, Shentavo. Just let me know if you want to talk.” Jade smiled. “Until then, I’m going to go for a swim.” She set out toward the pool.

That made him work harder to do something easy, like walk, lift an arm... or going on a pre-breakfast run down every corridor in every building.

After about a half hour, he realised just how many stairs this place had... too many. But he continued, concentrating on looping the frist two floors of the building, for convieneance.

As the sun rose in the distance, the two Iuthians both started to stir as their natural sleeping pattern started to wake them up. Joanna's alarm went off and for it's trouble she fumbled over the snooze button before finally getting out of bed and properly turning the alarm off.

Joanna's habitual exercise regime started much earlier in the morning then Michael's, getting up good and early to find a spot to herself outside in a scenic environment so she could probably warm up and keep her senses keen. The grounds a little distance away from the Academy were perfect for her, the birds singing and the crisp clean air doing her lungs good... it has been a while since Joanna had been away from the city and she loved to escape the pollutants in the air.

Placing a small mat on the grass, Joanna sat down and started her morning exercise regime, sitting perfectly still and then systematically stretching one muscle at a time. At times it required more concentration as she stretched some of the more linked muscles, at other times it was a simple matter of shifting position... but never the less it didn't change the fact she did this almost every morning as part of her routine. [Continued here... (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=436308&page=1)]

Michael, woke up perhaps about half an hour later as he slept in. Michael regime was much more lax in comparison to Jo's, most Iuthian's did some exercise at least once a week, Michael was no exception to this as got up, had a shower and got into his fatigues to do a early morning run around the academy before going in for some breakfast.

Nicole rose before the sun came up. Dressing in a black t-shirt, jean and shoes, she grabbed the vial of blood and headed downstairs. She walked outside into the still cool darkness and looked up in the sky. The burning white stars slowly began to be put out one by one as the sky slowly turned a deep navy blue. She took a deep breath, nervous about this. By now Nicole would have been heading inside for safety from the sun.

She trusted Alira and knew that the woman wouldn't give her this without being serious about moving in daylight. The young vampire found a spot on a hillside overlooking the grounds. She scanned and spotted a large tree. The tree had a hole in it. It should provide cover from the sunlight if the blood failed.

Nicole sat down as the sky began to brighten. Under a minute before the lethal rays would splash across the land, she drank the blood. She coughed as the sweet, dark crimson liquid went down her throat. It tasted far different than Stephen's, human, or the blood from the bloodstone.

Her light green eyes looked up and watched as the sun came, nothing happened. Her skin did not turn black and she did not burst into flames. A single tear rolled down her face.

Nicole smiled and sat, enjoying the sight and warmth on her cold skin.

Joshua had spent the entire night penning down a small (by his standards[two dozzen pages]) record of the events that could have inspired the nightmare he had earlier that night.
He had only been brought out of his trance like state by the first rays of the warm sun splashing across his right hand warming it and catching his attention.
"Havn't witnessed a sunrise in a forign land for to long," he said as he streched and set down his note book and pen and walked towards the bathroom to clean up.
After brushing his teath, washing his face, and changing his cloths to his usual norm of a pair of jeans and a black t-shirt and headed out his door leaving behind his glasses and walks out into the refreshing morning air.

A fresh breeze swept across the academy, which was now approaching noon. Some students were in the Telekenetics class while others received the luxury of a day off. If one would walk down to the lake, they would notice quite a bit of feathers at the bank, which seemed very similar if not identical to the feathers that Xavier had loved to use. There was a different cast to the water, as it was somehow a deeper blue than before. If you sat for a while, you would start to hear a girl crying, though many dismissed it as the wind, or the voices inside their head.

Alira Kade sat out on her balcony, frantically writing what seemed to be a letter. Her pen worked skillfully and quickly, and she stopped for a moment, not knowing exactly what to write. At the last moment she tossed the pen off the balcony and the paper rose into the air bursting in flames and falling to the ground as ashes. The Shentavo women had always been fire elementalists. That’s the way it always was.

Wearing his plain fatigues as he jogged around the grounds for the early part of the morning, Michael didn't really stop anywhere long enough to notice the feathers or any of the strange faint sounds that could be heard by the lake. Instead he simply passed by listening to his 'Limozine' album.

"...I got the heart of a lion, and the wings of a bat, because it's midnight!" he murmured as the guitarist sang down his headphones. A little later he finished his rounds and looked up his lessons for the day, it would seem that he was fortunate enough to have another day of rest before his first lesson. So Michael took his time going for breakfast before he head out to the AVC Room for a little practice on his home taught techniques... if he was going to keep up this year with all the advanced students he was going to need to use much of the extra time practicing and keeping on form.

Heading that way, Michael went to see if the room would be open for practice. Failing that he could always just do his practice outside in a large open space as it was a rather nice day out.

Trevor woke up fairly early, perhaps half an hour before sunrise. He went through his morning routine of washing his face, brushing his teeth, combing his hair and then messing it up again, then got dressed and walked down the stairs to have some breakfast. He got a bowl of cereal, a glass of orange juice and a large cup of coffee, and then walked over to sit outside on a bench. As he sat and ate, he watched the sun come up, gradually bringing color back to the world. After finishing his breakfast, he had headed off to telekinetics.

Lore and languages...I wonder if the Shentavos and other instructors know of anything about the Formor, and the role one such as I would have in engagements with them?

He was pulled out of his thoughts by the feeling someone was watching him. He lookd up from the top of his eyes back to the female student.

Shortly after Telekinetics class, Jade walked outside so that she had some more time to think. She really wished that she could have had her private lesson with Xavier, but she knew that she probably shouldn't mention it to him. He looked like something important was on his mind, so it was best that she let him be.

Generally, when she was in a bad mood, it was something that she could never hide from everyone else who sees her. She just gives of a bad vibe. She hoped; however, that by going outside, she would be able to escape the rest of the world for just a bit, even a few minutes would be sufficient. At the same time though, she wanted to talk to someone about the Telekinetics class. It was very embarrassing to her to have failed all of her tasks. She was always used to being the one person to have completed everything, in the best possible way, and receiving A's.

Jade took a seat on the grass again, and stared up at the sky. Whenever she was in a bad mood, she always noticed things in the sky that seemed depressing to her. It seemed as if the clouds changed to her mood, turning into sad images when she was feeling sad.

Almost immediately, she sat up and realized that if she's going to have any chance at doing well in her Telekinetics class, she was going to have to practice, so Jade pulled out her pyramid and began trying to lift it. At first, she struggled. She had a few doubts in the back of her head that kept nagging at her, but eventually she was able to lift it up for a bit. The environment that she was in now, rather than the classroom, was a bit more free, giving her less worries about failing in front of her classmates.

After telekinetics, Nicole wanted nothing to do more than relax. She went back to her room and drank some blood from the bloodstone. She also knew that lounging around inside was no way to relax in her current day-walking state. The young vampire knew that most, if not all vampires would kill for a chance to be able to walk in the sun without dying.

Nicole put on a aquamarine bikini, put on a pair of jeans, and threw her trenchcoat over herself. Slipping on a pair of sandals, the Simatarian walked downstairs and outside to the outdoor pool. Taking off the jeans, coat and sandals, she slid into the water. Normaly, a human would usuallyget the chills, but with her already cold body, she didn't.

Nicole smiled and decided to spend some time soaking in some sunlight and enjoying some swimming.

Navigating back to his room had been slightly easier this time and Jimmy took a moment to to fall back upon his bed and stretch his sore muscles. Eight hour classes were not exactly pleasant and all the sitting around had stiffened his muscles. At least back in the cave he was able to run around, practice his physical as well as mental abilities.

After a decent thirty minutes of stretching and simply relaxing his mind, Jimmy got up and began a purposeful stride through the corridors and down the stairs, reaching the first level of the building.

Coming out of Telekenetics with the others, Joanna first went back to her room to put her stuff away in her room before going for a spot of lunch. She decided to keep the small pyramid on her so she could practice with it from time to time as she imagined she would have to work hard to keep up with the rest of the class who already understood had much more experience, but at least now she had the basic principals and from there she could work at it. It was like she was saying her first word for the first time, getting used to it a bit at a time as practiced and learned more and more. It would probably be a slow process, but Joanna had the patience.

Telekenetics aside, Joanna was hungery, so like many of the other students she went to the mess hall for something to eat... the range of foods available was quite a pleasant surprise, in the end she went for a simple bit of salad with some extras treats on the side.

Aurelia met the other student’s eyes for a moment, before refocusing on her meal, having been caught once again staring. She really would have to stop doing it, otherwise she would never make any friends at the academy. She nibbled on her food, not really feeling that hungry. Being in strange places and around people she did not know tended to make her feel uneasy, and in turn seemed to make her lose her appetite.

Glancing briefly back up from her plate, to see whether the man – he certainly did not look like boy – was still looking in her direction, as she picked up her drink, and sipping it slowly. He was definitely the one she had passed the previous night as she walked around the grounds, but she was sure he had not seen her.

She gathered her things together, and walked over to where he was sitting. “Hello.” Her voice sounded more confident than she felt. “I’m Aurelia Joisse.” She just stood by the table, looking at him while at the same trying not to, waiting to see whether he would answer. If he did not, she would carry on to the counter, dump her things and leave.

With the afternoon sun shining on his eyelids, Trevor slowly woke up from his nap. He sat up and brushed a few leave that had fallen whilehe was snoozing off of himself. He got to his feet, and realized he hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. There was no one to be seen along his walk to the building. When he entered the mess hall he saw the reason for this, three of the students were in there eating. The selection of food was good, and Trevor picked up a sandwich and a small cup of soup. He added a bottle of water and then walked over to find a place to sit.

He noticed Aurelia, whom he had met the night before, and waved to her from across the room. Looking around, he saw that she was talking with another student who he hadn't met yet, and that there was another girl, one he recognized from telekinetics, sitting at another table. Deciding to take a chance and meet someone new, he walked over to the girl sitting alone and stopped next to her table.

She gently pulled herself up from the water and sat on the deck for a few minutes and finally put a name to the face. Joshua, that is his name. From telekenitics. Must be as tired as I am.

Sliding smoothly back into the cool water, she let herself sink down to the bottom before gently moving back up. Nicole took a look at her skin, it still remained the same shade of white, but she wondered if it would grow darker. She smiled, wondering Stephen's reaction when she came home more human looking.

A screams echoes throughout the academy, seemingly coming from near the main entrence.

Alira stood up at the scream, and made a quick decent downstairs to bump into Viv. The vampire demanded on where the scream came from, and Viv looked at her with bewilderment. "It's Nya, Alira. At the main enterence! I ran to her when I heard her scream." Both of them rushed to the main enterence. There was Jade, on the ground, her tainted blue, and her hair disheveled. She was paralyzed on the ground, one arm reaching upward. Alira covered her lips with her hand, and Xavier walked into the room, observing the site.

He lifted Nya up carefully, and eyed both Alira and Viv. "I can't get into her mind, something has it blocked off. Also, I really don't know what to do to heal her...I haven't seen this before."

A shower of kitchen utensils flew about as the young man exploded from his seat as he leapt away from the table. In that fluid movement that was almost blinding to even catch, his body shifted and altered in surprising ways as he hit the ground in full lycan form. The white bengal tiger's paws cleaved the ground as it tore from the mess hall and made its way to the front entrance, following the sounds of other rushing feet.

Tearing around a corner, he skid to a halt and looked down at the figure lying prostrate on the ground, a strange look locked on her face. A few moments later, Patrick stood in his human form, his clothes now torn on his body. He glanced down at them with an annoyed look but returned his gaze to the teacher known as Xavier, the one he had seen by the lake the night before, come in and lift Nya carefully.

Before he had time to think about what it meant, a man sitting a few tables in front of him sprung to life and seemed to change shape within seconds, finally ending up in the shape of a tiger.

All he could do was blink in surprise and watch. Jimmy had never encountered a shape shifter before in his life and it certainly took some getting used to. Several more students ran towards the source of the scream yet Jimmy remained still as he quickly finished his plate of food.

With that done, he got up and casually made his way towards the crowd of people. If there were answers, he'd be able to discover them soon enough. In the centre of the group Xavier stood with one of the teachers in his arms, her form stuck as if she were frozen. Interesting...

Everyone else automatically reacted with interest, many of them running towards the sound to find out what had happened. Joanna, on the other hand wasn't really about to make a nuisance out of herself; the academy itself would have a proper proceedure for dealing with whatever it was... sure as hell wasn't likely that she would have any experience with dealing with the kinds of problems a magical academy had.

She could not answer Aliria, as she had seen nothing.

As the crowd began to disperse, she looked at Trevor and sighed. “Looks like this place isn’t going to be a smooth ride, after all.” She let her eyes wander across the students as they all went their separate ways. “And now we have phantoms.” She felt a little uneasy about that, but being as she did not really know what these phantoms were, she kind of pushed the thought to the back of her mind.

Alira chuckled. “No, no. A phantom is simply used to name what caused this. There are no spirits in the academy, and if there were, they would stay clear of Xavier. He could send them to where they needed to be. I’m not sure who or what caused this, but I believe there is no need to worry. With the beings we have in this building, as well as returning students, there is very little chance that any of you will be in any danger.” She turned away from the crowd, her beauty never failing, however her demeanor crashed into contemplation.

Xavier looked into Jade’s eyes as she blinked awake. Her skin had returned to it’s normal color, and she was frantically gasping in air, as if she had drowned. Xavier placed his hand on her forehead and she calmed. Tell me what happened, Jade. Can you remember? Jade looked at Xavier anxiously, not being able to say anything. The nephilim concentrated harder on Nya, willing her to speak.

“I saw, a black feather. I reached to touch it…and I couldn’t breathe. It was one of your feathers….” Xavier slowly backed away from her.

It was not mine, it could not have been. I was in Telekenetics when this occurred. I can assure you that necessary measures will be taken. I don’t think that they were trying to get to you.

“Why is that?” she asked, her voice a bit weak.

Why would they use me, to get to you?

“You think…” Nya started, and then stopped, wondering if it was her place to say anything at all. She sat up on the medical table. Xavier shuddered a bit. Something wasn’t right. He looked out the window.

Alira brushed through the front doors, and scanned the horizon. Her wrist flicked suddenly an inch from the side of her face. There, she held a small metal object, a dart it would seem. A small amount of blood trailed down her right cheek from a shallow cut. She tossed it to the ground and scoffed. In the direction it oriented, she had no way of knowing where it had come from. She shrugged. The students would not be harmed, so long as teachers were the targets apparently. She held no concern for it. They would need more than cheap parlor tricks to tear down her defenses.

OOC: Jade left before the explanation, so she still thinks its a phantom

Jade looked up at Joanna, who looked deeply concerned with what was bothering her.

"It seems a phantom has made an appearance on school grounds and has done something to Nya. I was so close to her, when I heard the scream. It was the scariest feeling that I've had in a long time..." as she looked around nervously. "I think I just need to sit down and relax for a bit, let things calm down within myself. I think I'm making myself paranoid." she shrugged.

"I'm assuming that the teachers wouldn't allow any harm to reach us, especially Alira, so I'm sure that the necessary steps will be taken to assure our safety." as she looked over to where Joanna was sitting. Alira looked out across the lake. She could sense nothing. She re-entered the academy and dismissed what remained of the crowd of students. Xavier had left the medical wing and had taken up walking next to Alira. Silence was the only thing between them. Suddenly, Xavier took her hand and turned down a narrow corridor, and slipped into an empty supply room. Alira did not meet his eyes.

He craned his next, and let her lips run over the exposed flesh. She opened her mouth and her fangs extended. Carefully she bit down into the flesh, releasing the sanguine life giving liquid she needed so badly. Alira had always fed from Xavier, and would have no one else. Alira was an elder, and made the sensation of it all more pleasurable than painful. Xavier closed his eyes, his expression betraying his feelings. She drew back from him, and the wound closed immediately.

“Is there something you wanted to tell me, Xavier?” she asked lightly, looking into his eyes. He shook his head hesitantly in reply, and opened the door to enter back into the hallway. Alira leaned up against the wall of the empty room. “I just wish I could tell you…”

"The first lesson was very frustrating, especially seeing old students doing it with ease. At first, I had it under control, but again, my consistency is something I need to work on. I ended up losing control of the orb, which sent it spiraling in a random direction. It's tough, because I've always been a good student, getting great grades, but now... I feel weak, because I don't have my powers completely under control." she sighed, and grabbed a quick bite of her mashed potatoes.

"The pyramid, well... I've been working on that a lot since class, and I feel like I'm getting better at it, but again, I can only hold it up for a short period of time before I drop it. I lose my concentration easily, for some reason. I feel like something is in the back of my head, distracting me. It's something I can't quite describe...though perhaps its just the pressure of wanting to do good, but not having the experience to do it, like the other students."

Jade thought about it for a moment. It felt like something was lingering over her during any sort of task she needed to do when others were around. It felt like some sort of leech, inside of her, taking away the concentration she once had.

"I'm glad you questioned the teacher when you did. I'm really happy with the results of the teacher congratulating you on something that no one else in the class thought of. Despite the fact that me and you have much more to work on than the rest of the class, I think that we'll do fine, granted we get a lot of practicing time in. Perhaps we should study together when time permits us to? I'd welcome the chance to actually work with someone else through all of this."

"Sure, maybe I can help you with your concentration, personally I've never had much problem with concentrating on a task... we were taught concentration at a very young age back at the IDC." Joanna, replied, her voice soft and sincere. She always had good voice control. Deep down Joanna liked Jade, but like she was taught was that the emotions she put on display were usually the ones she wanted people to see, with exception to times when it was too hard to keep it all bottled inside... but still, it wasn't hard to find an outlet most of the time.

"Don't worry about it, Jade. You can help me understand more about this whole telekenetics thing and I'll do my best to help your concentration and with time and determination we'll surpass the others." Joanna smiled. "Deal?"
Euroslavia

"That's a deal." Jade responded. "If we both can help each other out, I think we'll have a great chance at doing very well in Telekinetics."

Jade was very excited at this agreement. Joanna was proving to be an extremely good friend to her, with which she's never really known. She never really had any close friends back in Euroslavia, and could only depend on herself for everything that she needed.

"So what're your plans for the rest of the day? Perhaps later today we could practice with our pyramids? There's no rush, of course. We have plenty of time for that today." as she smiled.

Nicole's head emerged, she pulled her wet hair back and opened her eyes to find Jimmy laying on a chair. She gave a slight jerk in surprised, which probably seemed very strange to the Assingtonian that a vampire could be spooked. She had not expected someone to be watching and the fact that her eyes were closed and she wasn't scanning with her mind factored into that.

Nicole noticed that her fangs had come down and she quickly pulled them back into her gums. She smiled, crossed her arms on the deck and placed her chin on her hands and looked up at the man.

"Care for a dip? Don't worry...I don't bite."

Trevor walked back into the seating area to eat his lunch. He was too disconcerted by the happenings for conversation and sat off by himself eating quickly with a frown on his face. What did the headmistress mean by a phantom? She said it wasn't literally that, but then why would she use that word? There's much more to this than we're being told right now. He was oblivious to the rest of the world as he ate, focusing on trying to think of who might want to disrupt the school. After a few minutes of this, he was forced to accept that he was woefully out of touch with this kind of thing. Growing up in Squornshelous, far from places where his "skills" were accepted, even encouraged, he had no idea what "freak" culture was like and who might have an enmity toward the Shentavo Acadamy.

He finished his lunch and went outside, wandering aimlessly through the gardens and by complete chance arriving at the pool. There were two students there, and he recognized both of them from telekinetics. Nodding in acknowledgement to each of them, he sat down in on of the chairs by the pool, still with a concerned look on his face. No matter what he tried to do, his mind kept coming back to the same thought: Who or what could and would want to do that?

Nicole looked over to see the human ist down on one of the chairs. It took her a few moments to remember him from telekinetics. She studied Trevor for several minutes, not probing his brain, but seeing the way his pupils moved and fine lines on his face. Something was troubling him. She looked over at Jimmy.

"Be right back."

She then disappeared under the clear water for several seconds before emerging near Trevor. The vampire slipped smoothly from the water, the sun sparkled off the droplets that clung to her slim figure. She walked over and sat in a chair next to him.

"Something the matter?"

As the group broke up, Aurelia looked about for something to do, wondering if she should perhaps read up on her up coming classes, as she had done little to no preparation on either of them. Not that she could really do any practice for one of them as the subject was off limits for outside of a classroom. She had noticed that some off the students had headed down to the pool and debated briefly doing the same, but she was hardly dressed for swimming.

Looking about her, she wandered around for a moment, looking at her surroundings in daylight. The place seemed more normal when viewed in the day. Night seemed to add a little mysticism to the place, although, considering what had happened only recently, she was not sure the school could really be called normal. She walked until she found a quiet spot under a tree, and settled under it. Leaning against the trunk, she looked up into the canopy above her, and played lightly with the leaves, every so often one would dance its way down to the ground having moved against the gentle breeze in the air.

Jimmy noted Nicole was startled upon noticing his presence yet didn't react. He thought it was odd a vampire wouldn't be aware of her surroundings, yet he supposed they couldn't be paying attention to everything at the same time.

As Nicole spoke, Jimmy looked down at the water and back at her, his expression still relatively blank.

"I suppose I will. I'm not too concerned about that either, one doesn't live in Assington for so long and not learn a few tricks about taking care of vampires."

With that said Jimmy pulled off his runners, jacket, shirt and jeans, revealing a relatively young looking body. It was obvious Jimmy had kept himself in shape over the years and whilst he wasn't particularly bulky in a muscular sense, he was well proportioned and toned.

Wearing only boxers, Jimmy's pale form descended into the water, his skin almost matching the tone of Nicoles. At that point she swam towards another one of the students that had just entered. Jimmy merely remained still and watched him.

Trevor looked up at Nicole as she got out of the pool and walked over. He hadn't realized his mood was that evident to others.
"I just can't stop thinking about what just happened," he spoke quietly and thoughtfully. "It never occured to me that we'd be in any kind of danger here. Why would someone want to attack a teacher?"

As Trevor got his troubles off his chest, another thing occurred to him. It wasn't really something to worry about, just something that made him curious. He looked into Nicole's eyes and spoke.
"Do you mind if I ask you a question? Even if it seems a little nosy and insensitive?"

"If you're a vampire, how can you be outside like this. Isn't sunlight fatal to you?"
The Golden Simatar
13-08-2005, 18:08
The Simatarian shrugged, she never could figure out why anyone would attack a teacher. She also didn't think they would be in danger, but she was confident the teachers and if need be the more powerful students could deal with the problem. Besides, the combat room was probably full of weapons.

Nicole was suprised Trevor knew she was a vampire, but she took in some pleasure in his confusion with he being out in the sunlight. She looked up at the sun and squinted heavily before looking back at Trevor. Nicole decided it would be best if she didn't share with others she would be taking Alira's blood to allow her to move in the sun. She smiled, her fangs decended from her gums and went into place.

Having had enough of her book, Aurelia picked herself off from the ground and made her way back into the school building, not really wanting to be outside once it got dark. There were strange things around the place, and even if she could not admit to feeling too much fear, she was not one to tempt fate. So she walked back to her room, walking through the still quiet corridors of the school.

She had not seen anyone since the incident earlier, as everyone seemed to be busy with things. And reading had made her feel a little sleepy. She looked out for any of the students she knew, which was actually only one. She did not have a class the next day, but getting sleep early meant she could get up early the following day. She was surprised not to see any of the staff about either, but put it down to the problems earlier.

"Assuming I don't come out of that class in a stretcher we could always go to the library to practice more tonight. Nicole looked over as the sky began to grow dark. She sighed and smiled at Trevor.

"I have class tomorrow. I'll catch you later."

She stood and walked around the deck and collected her things. She said goodbye to Jimmy and walked into the academy. She slipped on her coat and continued calmly back to her room. Nicole checked every corner of her room, wondering if whatever had attacked the teacher today was there; her room was the way she had left it. Nicole showered and climbed into bed.

After lying in the dark for several minutes, she fell asleep.

Everyone around here has so many secrets. Nicole had obviously been surprised that he'd known she was a vampire. It's funny how things work out. He thought before falling asleep. I'm usually pretty accurate when it comes to impressions of someone's strength, physically and mentally. Let me know who's butt you kick in class." she smiled again, and gave a good chuckle.

Joanna smiled. "You serious about me kicking the others butts? Alot of them seem rather unnatural to me... I can't place my finger on it but their movements are all wrong, it's like they just imitate us metahumans. Haven't you noticed it? The thought of returning and most likely seeing the wall where he almsot died and the weapon that did it would be almost to overwhelming for him to handel. Yet it had to be done since he had signed up for the class and would have to eventualy prove himself.

The Third Day

The AVC students would have their first class today. Hesione was already in the class room. After the shock from yesterday, Jade had fully recovered and sat by the lake, watching the ripples in the water. Whatever was happening this year, Jade really didn’t want to be a part of it. She knew that the teachers were strong, and would protect the academy. She sighed softly, unable to comprehend exactly what was going on. Why would anyone want to kill Alira? Talon sat by her, and lifted his arm around her shoulders in a comforting manner. She closed her eyes, and listened to the sounds of the lake.

Jade walked to her door, and opened it, letting Joanna walk into the room first. It was extremely tidy, because Jade was a perfectionist when it came to cleaning. She sat on her large, comfy bed, and began to speak.

Both Jade and Joanna practiced with their pyramids for quite a long time, over the evening. At first, Joanna had a lot of trouble with lifting the pyramid. It seemed as if she didn't have the confidence in herself, after tuning into Joanna's aura, though Jade still wasn't perfectly trained in the art of reading someone elses' aura. She knew the basics, but emotions was one thing that she didn't quite have down yet. Jade continued to send positive feedback, as well as her own support in helping Joanna calm herself down completely, but in no way did she help her lift the pyramid. This was a task that Joanna had to do herself. She didn't want to deceive her in any sort of way.

Eventually, both Jade and Joanna were able to lift their pyramids for a longer period of time, though not for too long. This was going to take a lot of practice to keep afloat for an even longer amount of time. The sun set after an hour of practice, and even after that, they kept on with their training, though, the time was getting too late. It was time that they both retired, and Joanna returned to her room because she had a class the next morning. Having listened to the rules about the time limit on those who have classes next morning, she reminded Joanna about it, and ended the practice that night. Joanna left her room, as Jade wished her luck in her class the next morning, and Jade changed her clothing, and jumped right into bed. All of that training exhausted her.

As expected, Jade's bed room was very tidy, though she had only been around for a couple days so it probably didn't get much use. The two of them sat down and started their practice.

Joanna was still having trouble with the Pyramid, lifting it was much harder then simply moving it slightly to the side and she was still only just getting used to it. Jade was helping Joanna to keep calm, it wasn't easy to notice on the outside but Jade seemed to notice the frustration Joanna felt over this task. It was a big thing to just suceed at moving it today, she didn't expect to get better to quickly but she wanted to catch up with the others, at least Jade was very understanding and seemed genuinely impressed when Joanna got a grasp of holding the pyramid up in the air for almost ten second, even if it was still on the lowest setting.

After a evenings hard work, the two of them said their goodbyes and Joanna left the room for bed. Tomorrow would be Advanced Combat, not quite her best subject but something she wanted to try herself with... a strong body promotes a strong mind, her tutors always told her.

The cool morning air chilled Jimmy's pale skin as he stepped outside, sunlight falling across his muscled shoulders as he moved away from the shade. He now felt settled in enough that he could get into some routine of morning exercise and maintain his fitness.

Jimmy had never been into meditation or any of the eastern methods of exercising, he preferred more simple methods. Running, situps, pushups, weights and an occassional spar, not that he really had anyone to spar with these days. Most of the time they were involuntary victims, despite their thinking otherwise.

Fourty minutes later found Jimmy back at the main school building, sweat coating his forehead and upper torso, drenching his singlet. Already he'd managed to build up a bit of a tan from the sun exposure, yet he had worries it would turn to sunburn. Jimmy may be an immortal yet he could die from skin cancer just as easily as the next guy.

And so he stumbled inside, slowly making his way back to his room.

Aurelia rolled out of bed eventually, having lain on the bed, staring up at the ceiling as she wondered what she was going to do today. Of course, she would start with a shower and then breakfast, but how she was going to fill the rest of the day was another matter. She really was not having much luck meeting people at the school. When she was back at home, she had assumed that it was because she was a freak, and yet here she was surrounded by freaks and even they did not want anything to do with her.

Getting to her feet, she made her way to the bathroom, emerging some time later feeling more like a human being. Once she was dressed she walked down to breakfast and found herself a quiet seat, at a table that was not so readily in view as the one she had used the previous day. The room was quiet, or at least quieter than it had been before that teacher had been attacked.

She sipped her glass of orange juice as she nibbled a piece of toast. Sitting back in the chair, she let the minutes drag on as she took her fill of the food in front of her, having decided that today she would get in some exercise at the pool, and maybe take a stroll further out around the grounds, if they were not forbidden from doing so with this phantom thing around.

Having practiced her telekinesis with Joanna for many hours the previous night, Jade slept like a rock. Normally, she can never sleep an entire night without waking up two, three, or even four times, but last night... it was different. She finally felt what it was like to sleep peacefully.

In the morning, Jade woke up as the sun shined through her window. She lifted her head, and stretched her arms a bit while yawning. Getting off of the bed, Jade realized that it was still a bit early, but once she wakes up, she usually can't get back to sleep. Her stomach made the most quirksome noise she had heard in a long time, so it was decided that she should probably get something to eat; but first, she needed to at least take a shower, and get ready. Jade was very quick at getting ready in the morning, because she was always excited for the new day.

After about fifteen minutes, she was all ready. Jade opened the door to her room, and walked downstairs to get her breakfast. Jade was in the mood for some cereal, so she went and got the bowl, poured the cereal in it, and then poured the milk into it. After she grabbed a spoon, she turned to the seats and saw another girl sitting down and eating. Overjoyed at the fact that she was more eager to talk to the other students, she walked over to her.

"Good morning!" she said in a delightful manner. "Looks like today's going to be a nice day." as she tried to come up with the start of a good conversation. "Oh, goodness, it would probably help if I told you my name. My name is Jade." as she turned bright red.

Sil opened her eyes and lifted the head. She was confused. Why was she sitting at a table instead of laying in her bed?
Then she recalled what ha happend. A bright red colored her face and she closed her eyes, irrationally hoping this could turn everything into a dream, a nightmare.

I fell asleep. I didn’t even notice it. Oh god! Sil was sure that it hadn’t evaded the attention of the other students. She wasn’t used to the presence of other people, people who knew her, whom she would have to face day by day for the next months, but she could imagine the others‘ reactions.

That’s so shaming. Not only that I can’t move this damn pyramid, Sil peered at the small object in front of her, I also have to make myself look like a fool by falling asleep where I sit.

Sil was able to handle beeing attacked by hords of Atlantids and IS agents but not the feeling of looking like an idiot. She thought about sneaking back to her room and locking the door behind her but there was one thing that kept her from doing just that:
Her stomach. She hadn’t filled it with food since yesterday morning and now it protested against the idea of beeing ignored any longer.

Sil sighed. Maybe she was lucky and the cafeteria was left. Maybe she could eat and sneak into her room without meeting any of the other students. Or a teacher.

Oh yes, and maybe all this turned out to be nothing more than a nightmare. She half expected to realize that she only wore lingerie (though she would be able to change to a body with proper clothes within a second if that should really happen).

Desparated she left the telekinetics class-room and found her way to the cafeteria. Which, against all hopes, wasn’t left. One, no two students were already there. And one of them had been at the telekinetics class with Sil. Without thinking about it she changed her shape to look like someone else.

Xavier entered the room, obviously nervous and trying to ignore the students..

Looking up from her plate, Aurelia smiled at the woman standing in front of her, and pointed to one of the chairs around the table. “Please, sit down. I’m Aurelia Joisse, and it’s nice to meet you, Jade.” She watched as Jade sat down and then resumed nibbling on some toast. “It does look like a nice day,” she finally said, having swallowed. “I’m thinking of heading down to the pool, as I don’t have a class today. If you are free, why not come too.”

She picked up her glass of juice and took a sip. “That’s if you like swimming, of course. Not everyone does.” She looked up and spotted one of the teachers walk in the mess hall, and then returned her gaze to Jade. “This place is just so strange. Very strange in fact.”

Jade noticed the teacher walk by as well, and was a little confused. She turned her head back towards Aurelia and then back to where she was looking before, where the teacher used to be.

"I couldn't agree more. There's something about this place that makes me very uneasy. I can't quite pinpoint it, but I know its there. I feel like the teachers are hiding something very important from us.."

“Yes, the staff certainly adds to the feeling of uneasiness that hangs in the air.” Aurelia let out a little sight as she finished off her juice and looked down at the piece of toast she had left on her plate. “It does feel like they are hiding something. What happened to that teacher is just so weird and putting it down as a phantom is hardly going to make everyone feel safe here.”

She pushed aside her plate and looked up at Jade. “When you’ve finished eating, we’ll head down to the pool and catch some sun.” She gave her companion a smile. “What classes are you taking? It could have attacked any of the people outside, and that could have been me, or anyone else who was outside at the time. I hope that the teachers can put an end to this as soon as possible..." as she gave a worried look.

Jade ate the rest of what remained in her cereal bowl, then drank the milk. Feeling quite refreshed, she stood up, and was ready to walk over to the pool.

"I'm taking Telekinetics and Lore and Language. There's quite a break in between both of those classes, so that gives me a good amount of time to make sure I'm ready for each class. Telekinetics was yesterday, and Xavier seemed very nice, but the one thing that was bothersome was the fact that he practically ran out of the classroom when the class ended. He must have forgotten that he would help me out with learning how to heal. I suppose he had a lot on his mind, but still, something seems different about him."

Few would note the silent passage of the student as he made his way through the halls, on no path in particular to any location. Rather, he indulged himself on the thoughts that ran through his mind. His pace was slow, measured, and his head looked down to the ground in front of him.

I smell a difference here, a malignant one, an evil one. A Fomorian would never refuse a meeting with one such as I. Whatever is here, is not Fomorian, and something with equal danger.

He paced past the library, before he paused and looked in. No one was in there, and yet the doors were open. He made his way in, and soon began to browse the books on the shelves. He was looking for an answer to the situation, a hint on its nature.

Sil was utterly surprised when she was hoisted up into mid air, and turned around to face an indignant nephilim. His white hair and pale eyes clearly were not pleased at the attire the student had chosen, and nearly had dropped his ever present coffee. He looked a lot paler than normal, and slightly feint, but his arm was raised and he was twenty feet from the student. He drew the student closer, the terrified being sailing through the air until Sil was directly in front of him.

“Pray tell why I find you in my image,” he said softly. Sil felt a light burning in his mind, and was forced back into his original state. Xavier clearly wasn’t as pure as he had made out to be, and had more than he had exposed at orientation. He furrowed his brow.

Sil swallowed hard. It was ovious that Xavier was in no good mood though Sil couldn't tell why his rage was directed at him (aside from that it was a terrifying experience to be lifted up into the air)

His image? Sil wondered about the meaning of Xavier's words when he felt him penetrate his mind.

No! Noooo! Don't do that! Don't do that, he tried to beg but the transformation had already begun and the vocal cords ot form the words did no longer exist. So the cry only sounded in his/her/its mind. Sil could feel the body (Xavier's body Sil realized with shock) loose it's shape. Only seconds and it would turn into...no! Never again. Never again!

Sil gathered all of his strength to withstand Xavier's force and kept the body from returning to its original shape. Instead he changed into the woman with the blue-and-silver uniform of the Erasian Airlines.

She breathed hard and sweat ran down her forehead.

"I'm...I'm sorry," she whispered. "I didn't want to...it...it just happened." Sil knew this was a weak apology but it was all she could say at the moment.

Xavier loosened his grip and let the girl fall, assessing the issue. The nephilim clearly wasn’t happy with the students conduct. “Shapeshifting?” he scoffed. “Are you too afraid to walk around as how you really look? Or is your identity too lost and forgotten for you ever to return. Whatever it is, if I see you impersonating another student or teacher,” he bent in close to Sil. “I’ll end your life. For hell I know that you were the one that cast Jade under that spell.” He paused for a moment, and brushed the notion aside. Trevor walked back downstairs from Advanced Combat. He had been surprised at his being paired with Joshua, since it appeared that the returning student was much faster and better than he was. What did she see that made her pair us together? He was feeling a little nervous about this whole thing, what would Hesione think if Joshua tossed him around at the next class? What would the other students think?

A little unsure of what to say he walked over to Joshua. "Er. . . so is there a specific time you'd prefer to practice?"

Strolling around the grounds alone, the still air being disturbed only by the sound of his boots. As he walked, he went away from the buildings until he came to a hill. Sitting on it he stared out at the landscape....

His attention snapped around and he stared into two sets of mirrored sunglasses. The Twins, as they were known, wore the robes of Inquisitors. One removed his glasses and nodded. "Omega, do not have too much fun here. You will be called upon by Epsilon soon." The other twin spoke up then. "You will be replaced by another 'student'. One that is more familiar with these suroundings and more suited to this assignment."

Staring at both, he started to get angry. "You two just spoiled my good mood, you know that? Tell Epsilon I'll be there when she says. I just hope you know what you're doing. Replacing me will make the instructors suspisous." The first merely replaced his sunglasses and walked off, the other following, leaving John alone again as they vanished into the trees.

John stalked back to the buildings and walked the sidewalks outside, making random turns, just trying to blow off frustration. It wasn't working, because even as he walked, his face stayed in a grimmace of anger.

After class, Nicole went to her room and cleaned up. She put on a pair of tight black pants and t-shirt, grabbed her pyramid, and walked outside. As she walked down a small path, she thought of her fight with Hesione. She knew with time and practice she could eventually beat her teacher. She tossed her pyramid up into the air and concentrated on it as she walked, keeping it hoving near her head. Nicole looked at her watch, deciding to time how long it would take before she lost control.

Nicole also took note that the next day she would have to go to Xavier or Alira for another vial of blood if she wished to continue her day walking. She made that note and continued on her walk towards the lake.

The bottom of the lake was certainly an interesting place. Several aquatic creatures moved about their business, some paying Jimmy the slightest attention whilst others reacted adversely to his presence. Unfortunately visibility was a problem, the lake was at such a depth that light could not penetrate all the way to the floor very easily, allowing Jimmy to barely see before him.

Jimmy took a moment to scratch his dry head as he pondered the best way to exit the lack without getting wet. As it was, Jimmy was completely dry thanks to the barrier of psychic energy he had erected about himself. He figured it would be a good test of strength to withstand the pressure of the water around him, yet the lake was a comfortable depth. Jimmy had been under the water for about ten minutes now and was only just starting to feel the pressure against his head. Of course oxygen was now the issue. Psychic powers couldn't replaced the used up oxygen within an air tight barrier.

Finally it came to him. Why not simply plough straight upwards and into the air, that way gravity would allow the water to run off his shield and he could release it. Settled upon his course of action, Jimmy formed a solid idea of exactly what he wanted to happen and made it so.

At first he moved slowly as the water pressure moved against him, yet Jimmy merely increased his concentration, gaining speed until he finally launched himself out of the lake in an explosion of noise and water as the calm surface was quickly disturbed.

After the splashes died down, Jimmy could be seen calmly standing in the air, completely dry and wearing a half amused smirk. That had been the most entertaining thing he'd done all day.

"A whole lot of nothing really. I can't say there is a lot to do around here when there aren't any classes."

Jimmy's manner wasn't arrogant, simply honest and upfront. So far he wasn't terribly satisfied with things, yet he'd only been here three days and figured it would take more time to get used to such things.

Nicole whistled softly as she continued on her walk down by the lake. As she rounded a bend, she witnessed the water suddenly exploded near her. The vampire lost control of her pyramid and it fell into the grass just as some water splashed over her. She yelped as another student suddenly emerged raising cain, she had been so absorbed in her thoughts she had not noticed him before.

Nicole heard a sound that was almost like a child crying. Arching an eyebrow, she turned from the lake and took a few steps into the grass, wondering if some kid had wandered away from thier parents and wound up lost.

"Hello? Anyone there?" She called softly.

The vampire could not sense anyone else besides the other student and Jimmy. As she continued to look, she noticed the ground was getting dark. Must be getting ready to storm...or night comes quickly here. It was then she noticed the sun was still high and the rest of the ground was bathed in sunlight. Her fangs decended and she turned, ready to defend herself against a possible attacker.

She gasped as a thick arm of water smashed into her side. Nicole tumbled a few meters and watched as more water came after her and the two men. She noticed the once blue water was now black. Nervous inside, she was wondering what was causing it. Since water was going after Jimmy, it was obvious it wasn't him. Maybe it was some student trying to hurt her since she was a vampire.

Nicole rolled out of the way as another arm splashed where she was. Now throughly soaked; the vampire stood, baring her fangs angerily at the lake, and shouted at the other students.

"What the hell is going on?!"

A woman approached from across the yard, having been seemingly enjoying herself at the pool. She was around 5”9 with pale skin. Her dark brown hair was cut at an angle, short to reveal her neck in the back and tapering down to just above her shoulders in the front. She wore sunglasses, and clearly had been sunbathing. There were tattoos of a wing on either shoulder blade. She raised her hand, and the water stopped from attacking the rest of the students, and gave a horrible moan. It sank back down and turned its original color. The woman shook her head. “Mind you don’t swim in the lake, would you?” she asked inquisitively, though it was more of a command than a question. She stalked back off toward the pool, and vanished behind a corner.

Xavier looked up as Alira entered the lounge. He stood up as well, looking at her expression. Yes, I sensed that too… he said softly to her, and the two were off down the halls, making their way outside.

Looking around, Nicole willed a large, thick stick into her hand. Not looking at Jimmy or the other student, she jumped after the woman and paused near the corner where she saw the woman move around.

Through her vampiric hearing, she heard footsteps from inside the building. Nicole watched as a door opened to reveal Xavier and Alira, the young vampire pointed around the corner.

"Some woman...she had wings tattooed on her back. She had the lake attack me, Jimmy, and another student only a minute or two ago. I saw her go around the corner."

Before the student before him could answer, Jimmy's turned his head slightly to move Nicole into his eyesight. She was the only student in the building that he'd said more than a few words to. Yet, she was still a vampire.

As Jimmy opened his mouth to speak, he was immediately knocked off his feet by an intense blast of water, pounding him into the ground and filling his opened mouth with black water. Not one to stay down after being attacked, Jimmy rolled over as he spat the water onto the ground and rose to a knee.

Eyes glued on the water surging towards him, Jimmy didn't hesitate in raising his hand in a gesture linked to unleashing a psychic blast. The force had a desired effect, smashing the water into tiny droplets. Ready for the next attack, Jimmy stared silently as a woman seemed to appear out of nowhere and simply call off the lake. As simple as that, the water stopped.

Jimmy merely stood there, dumbfounded as Nicole quickly ran off. What the hell was that?

"That'd be great if we could sit together." Jade smiled, and gathered her things as well. She brought her pyramid just in case she had some extra time to practice her telekinesis.

Looking as Aurelia in curiousity from her last statement about the things she had heard, Jade wondered what she was talking about. Making her way to the pool, which oddly turned out to be very quiet and devoid of all other students, Aurelia looked down into the glistening blue pool, almost as if it was calling her to enter the inviting water. It had been a long time since she had taken the time to lounge by a pool or gone for a swim. Quickly stripping off her clothing, revealing her bikini-clad body beneath, she dropped her belongings into a pile on the ground, and walked over to the edge of the pool.

Sitting down, she dangled her legs in the water, feeling the refreshing touch against her skin. “It feels like the perfect temperature for a swim.” She turned to Jade and smiled. “And fortunately for us, everyone else seems to be busy elsewhere, which means we have the place to ourselves.”

The sun was glistening over the Academy, while the sky itself was full of a light blue color, with only a few puffy clouds scattered across her view.

"It feels good to relax finally." Jade added. "Practicing for my telekinetics class was becoming very stressful, and I just really needed a break from it. I really got the feeling that I was going to pop a few brain cells if I kept on practicing." as she gave out a good chuckle.

"So... tell me about yourself. What nation do you come from, and what area do you live in? Do you have a family?" she stopped before she began to ask too many questions, which she was notorious for. She also didn't want to elaborate further on the question about her family. She had once asked someone if they were close to their family, only to have a response of, 'I don't have a family'. She walked a couple meters when she paused. Nicole was sure that it would have been loud enough to account for some students not being in the building.

Turning around, the vampire headed back to the school and inside the cool interior. She moved briskly, wondering if the strange tattooed woman was the reason behind the gathering. Nicole remembered the combat room was brimming with weapons, so there was no problem there if they got attacked by someone or something. Wearing a simple cloak, the bulky figure made it's way across the Academy by rooftop and vanished into the trees, only to re-emerge at the lake. Probably in full view of Joshua, as well. Looking side to side, it waded into the lake up to it's knees, still holding the scimitar.

Lowering the cleaver, he steps from the water and walks warily towards her. "The Devil of an Angel. Who else would I be looking for, here? When I heard the young Blood's call and her warning I thought it could only be here wandering around the lake. I see I was mistaken."

He pauses and sniffs at the air as the breeze shifts. "Good day Joshua." And to him, the voice would probably be recognizable, if not identifiable. "Fought any good civil wars this month?"

The woman smirked to herself, and couldn’t help but to suppress a small smile toward the student from Crimmond. She heard the name mentioned, and managed not to turn around. Joshua… she thought to herself. She looked at the glassy surface of the water. Devil of an angel, she repeated to herself and shook her head. She walked toward the trees at the edge of the lake, passed behind one, and disappeared.

---

Alira felt a tightening in her heart, and looked at the remaining students faces. She shook it off, dismissing it as nothing. Xavier, however, had taken notice of it, and proceeded to silently inquire as to what had happened with his cool eyes. She did not respond. She dismissed the meeting with a wave of her hand. Xavier stayed to answer questions.

He pauses and sniffs at the air as the breeze shifts. "Good day Joshua." And to him, the voice would probably be recognizable, if not identifiable. "Fought any good civil wars this month?"

Joshua was concentrating on relaxing when he noticed the figure in the lake. His eye sight quickly adjusted and he focused on the figure.
What the hell is it holding? he thought as he started to get up and slowly began to edge his way to the lake.
He kept quiet as he continued to edge closer, though keeping at least ten meters away, and kept watching wondering what the hell was going on.
It didn't take long though for him to hear the other persons voice and it startled him as he hadn't taken note of her until that moment.
As the figure began speaking with the other Joshuawonder if that was her, the woman that he wa warned about. He didn't recognize her but it didn't matter as the cloaked figure had begun talking to him.
Joshua stopped for a moment and racked his brain trying to remember who it was. Only one person...well thing I know of has a voice like that and scales.. he thought before speaking.
"Havn't fought any for the past few years. Just been hunted and stabbed repeatedly. People realy don't like me," Joshua responded, "It's been a long while since we last met. Gore, no? Been so long I almost forgot your name."

"Oh how they don't know it at all," Joshua joked as he walked closer to Goor.
"That armor? Oh it's to much of a pain in the ass to get by customs. I realy didn't like the strip searches," he laughed as he sat down, "So what is the great Goor doing back here after so long? Did you miss the lack of reason and students vanishing?"

Nicole followed Jimmy and fed from her bloodstone along the way. When they reached the pool, she licked her lips and teeth clean and looked at the human. She sat on a table and smiled innocently at Jimmy after he asked his question. As soon as Jimmy put on his shoes on the ground, it flew up and hit him softly on the head. Nicole chuckled.

"Of course I have been taught outside of here. I have a very caring and loving sire. So, what exactly were you proposing we practice on?"

Goor removed the cloak and tossed it aside, not caring about it any longer. Underneath that, he looked like a miniature godzilla, but standing erect and more human like in his bone structure. What he was wearing looked remarkably like military BDUs, but with alterations for his body. "I am here to find out just what in hell happened to this place after I... died." He walks towards the rest of the academy, still carrying his cleaver. "I need to talk to the headmistress... her granddaughter."

Jimmy flashed Nicole his mischievous grin as the shoe came into contact with his head. At least she could do the basics, it would make things much more interesting.

"Good."

Pulling up his jeans, Jimmy got to his feet and simply walked off the edge of the pool as if there was solid ground within the gaping hole. One would expect to hear a splash as Jimmy plunged into the water and yet it never came. Jimmy remained completely upright as he stood upon the water.

"I find water is always good to play with..."

Years of practice had enabled Jimmy to compress the water with his mental abilities into a more solid state, allowing him to walk across it as if it were solid.

Nicole blinked as Jimmy stood on the water and moved around. She had never seen such a thing done before in her life. She moved slowly around the pool as Jimmy stood there. She clapped her hands.

She sat down on a pool chair.

"You know I am far to young to be doing that kind of stuff. What do you have for me?"

Jimmy pondered Nicole's question for a moment. He realised she wouldn't be able to walk around on water like him, yet as a vampire she would definitely have the potential to do some pretty amazing things.

"Well, I was taught to use my powers in a very abstract way. Of course the strength of your mind plays a significant role yet so does your understanding and imagination. Most people would never even think of using their powers to prevent water from dispersing and so they never try it."

Falling silent for a moment, Jimmy concentrated on a small portion of water and floated it towards Nicole, halting it before her face.

"Why don't you try and hold that together. Concentrate on keeping it within a field of your mental power, then try pressing against it with your hand."

After the announcement, Jade decided that it was probably best if she didn't go back to the water because she was scared that something may happen. She looked at everyone elses' reaction to the announcement, and became worried because of the bad energy that was floating around the room. It was a double-edged sword though, because she knew that some people were scared despite not showing it. Perhaps it would be better if she were naiive...

Jade turned around and walked back towards her room. Her face was expressionless at this point. She honestly didn't know what to think, but maybe it was best to get her mind on something else... practicing more with her pyramid? Maybe.

Nicole watched as the small ball of water moved towards her. As she wrapped a mental field around it, she felt Jimmy letting go. A few dribbles of water splashed to the ground as she missed a few spots. Nicole had used her powers many times before, but not in this manner. There were a few more drips before the young vampire had a secure sphere of containment. She smiled to herself and moved her hand up to the orb. When she pressed her hand against it, she felt some resitance. Though, her hand still got wet and several seconds later, the orb fell to the ground with a splash.

Nicole looked up from the wet spot to Jimmy.

"That was..interesting. I have never done that before. I mostly throw things around, bring things to me and that kind of thing."

Jimmy watched quietly as he slowly walked backwards over the water, not really paying much attention to where he was moving. Soon enough the water was down after Nicole's efforts, yet it was obvious there had been some initial resistance to her hand.

"I would assume so. There is a fair amount of psychic potential within Assington and many schools to train such and yet they never take full advantage of what the mind can do. They turn it into another school subject and completely destroy the creativity involved in using the mind."

At that point Jimmy fell downwards yet the water never touched him. As the human descended the water simply got out of the way, forming a cylinder of space for him to stand in as he looked up at Nicole.

"No one seems to realise what they can do and it is disappointing. I was lucky enough to be taught this fact at a young age."

Nicole blinked as Jimmy went into the water but did not yet get wet. She had to admire the man's obvious telepathic strength. A blob of water lifted from the surface and hovered a foot from the surface before Nicole let it go and hit the water again.

"Jimmy, a little off topic here..but I have a bit of a curiosity problem you might say."

Nicole paused and bit her lip, drawing a tiny bit of crimson that she quickly licked away.

"My sire has told me...for lack of a better term horror stories of the vampire-human relationship in Assington. Murders, massacres, streets litterally turning crimson with blood. Is it really that bad or is my sire exaggerating?"

After the announcement, Trevor had returned to his room and resumed practicing with the pyramid. He sent it orbiting smoothly around the cieling while thinking about what had just happened. Stupid to call us all together and not tell us anything he thought. They brought all the students into the school and told them not to talk to strangers, all that's gonna do is make people curious. Another thing occured to him and the novelty of the new thought caused the pyramid to dip in mid flight. Maybe they're afraid of scaring us? What could be out there? He shook his head quickly to clear this thought out of it. "Whatever's out there, the teachers here can more than handle it," he said aloud, reassuring himself. He lay on his back and focused on the pyramid again, turning the dial back and forth with his mind while trying to keep it perfectly motionless. Whatever or whoever has the teachers so worried isn't going to distract me from what I came here to do.

Jimmy was silent for a long moment as he considered the question. He knew very well that vampire-human relations were stressed to say the least and that many deaths had resulted of such. In fact it wasn't long ago that a massive war had broken out upon the streets between vampiric factions, the VP and some even say elves.

"Funnily enough there is little need for exageration when it comes to such. Laws regarding vampires are very strict in Assington and there is defnitely a lot of tension between humans and vampires. I've never been personally involved in such conflicts yet the media does a good enough job at spreading the word."

Floating into the air, Jimmy allowed the water to fall back into place before planting himself on the edge of the pool and rolling up his jeans in order to dangle his feet in the cool water.

"As I recall it there have been four major conflicts within Emerald City infamous for their ferocity and bloodshed. There is a large vampiric population up there and it's said that many of the older vampires reside within that city. Whilst there is tension around the rest of the nation there have never been conflicts on such a scale thankfully. Essentially you don't want to live in Assington if you are a vampire."

From what Stephen had told her about Assington, spare for Hondur's coven; there was no place she would want to go in Assington unlessed forced.

"Coming from a nation filled with mostly psychopathic vampires...how come you aren't so guardish around me? How do you know I won't just rip into your throat and drink you dry...or seduce you into my bed before feeding?"

Patrick approached from behind Nicole, unwittingly silent in his movements, yet his voice betrayed his position.

"I would imagine it would be foolish to attempt such a stunt with one like him."

He stepped to the edge of the pool, and looked down into the clear water at the rose that adorned the bottom of the pool in the deepest part. After a moment of thought, he stepped forward and splashed down into the water, immediately maneuvering into a backside float.

"Especially when you consider what he was doing earlier at the lake."

Jimmy was about to answer Nicoles question yet was distracted as Patrick entered the pool room and spoke from behind Nicole. A simple nod was all Jimmy allowed as Patrick jumped into the pool and made himself comfortable.

"I have my ways and they can be most unpleasant."

With that said Jimmy looked around the room looking for something to demonstrate on and soon found a small rock sitting near his shoes. He wasn't sure how it had made its way inside yet that didn't matter. Levitating the rock into the air, Jimmy sent it hovering over the pool.

Eyes narrowed and mind focused, Jimmy plunged the depth of his concentration into the rock and obtained an idea of its composition. Several more seconds passed as he went deeper, gathering a sense of every particle within the rock. With that sense now firmly placed in his head, Jimmy began focusing his telekinetic intent upon the particles, causing them to rub together at increasing speeds.

A few more seconds passed as the speed increased and the rock began glowing red hot due to the heat produced by friction between the particles. Finally the rock could take no more and burst into flames as the heat separated the particles, causing the red hot pieces of rock to fall into the pool with a splash and release of steam.

"Simply a matter of imagination, a little understanding and power of course. You may be physically superior to me but I could crush your mind like you could crush my bones."

Jimmy flashed her a cheerful smile just to assure Nicole he wasn't threatening her.

"Of course I wouldn't do that, you've conducted yourself in a civil manner so far."

Nicole looked over her shoulder and smiled at Patrick as he moved into the water. A small sheet of water headed for her, but remembering what Jimmy showed her, she was able to form a small wall and knock much of it away. The way Patrick had come in so silently made her think that he wasn't fully human. She turned and stared at the glowing rock over the pool. It was then Nicole decided it was best not to seduce Jimmy.

The second the rock broke, a small fragment grazed her cheek. The vampire jerked and snarled, feeling a small bit of blood come out. Nicole wipped it up with her fingers then licked them clean. The young vampire then focused her attention on Patrick. She had to lay the mystery of the man to rest.

"Patrick, are you a lycanthrope?"

Nicole arched her eyebrow when Patrick corrected her by calling himself a 'therianthrope'. She had never heard of such a shapeshifter, but could only guess correctly that it meant that Patrick was not a wolf. She shrugged, as long as he didn't lose his mind at the full moon and try to have her for dinner she was okay with him being what he was.

She sighed and felt the water.

"I am tempted to either jump in now in my clothes, skinny dip...or go back up to my room and get my swimsuit."

Nicole thought for a few more minutes before getting up and leaving the pool. She returned fifteen minutes later in a tight black bikini and jumped into the water. Surfacing, she looked over at Jimmy.

"Come on in...the water is fine."

Jimmy waited patiently as Nicole disappeared for a few minutes, leaving him and Patrick alone in the pool room. Whilst Jimmy had a relatively good knowledge of vampires he knew nothing of lycanthropes and had no idea of what a therianthrope was. Not one to remain quiet when he truly wanted to know something, Jimmy voiced his question.

"What exactly is a therianthrope?"

Soon enough Nicole returned in a skin tight bikini that allowed everyone a good eyeful of her slim figure. Whilst Jimmy could appreciate her curves it was slightly unnerving knowing that body was actually dead.

"I suppose I could jump in for a bit..."

With that said Jimmy removed his shirt and pants, revealing a body that appeared to be around early thirties and in good shape yet was actually almost two hundred years old. Jimmy wasn't an overly muscular man yet his muscles were well defined and proportional for his size.

Now standing at full height, Jimmy took a look around the room before plunging feet first into the water.

Patrick gave a slight grin, knowing that the irony of the often said quote, Curiosity killed the cat, would not apply here.

"I suppose I'll have to show you." he stated, when Nicole got back, dressed to kill with visual effects.

At that, Patrick emerged from the pool, walked into the bathroom, and walked out fifteen seconds later in full therianthrope form, as a Bengal tiger with white fur and black stripes.

Ta da. he called to them flatly in telepath. Then, he turned and entered the bathroom again, emerging in human form to rejoin them in the pool.

Nicole watched as Patrick disappeared into the bathroom, wondering what the man could be up to. She got her answer when a large animal appeared. She gasped and instinctivly took a few strokes back as the massive Bengal tiger emerged. She stared at Patrick's alternate form, there were no imprefections, nothing that she could see would prevent someone from thinking he was anything but a real Bengal.

When Patrick came back in the pool, she smiled at him.

"I have always liked the white tigers. Is your...weretigerism...dunno if that might be the word. Were you bitten by another...umm...therianthrope or was it something in your DNA?"

After a few hours of practice, Trevor emerged from his room blinking, with a slight headache and a large amount of boredom. He wandered down the halls of the school looking for something to do. The empty building seemed oppressive to him, so he walked outside, looking for something, he didn't know what. Now what? he asked himself, it was unclear to him what to do now. There was no homework aside fom the obligations to practice the techniques he had learned in classes. He thought he saw a few students in and around the pool, but didn't feel like talking for some reason. Social interaction was just too much trouble sometimes. Right now he just needed to relax and do something that didn't require mental effort. He sat down in the grass and stared out over the grounds, letting his mind wander wherever it chose to go.
