ok, I'm wanting to revive the Jedi Academy thread. The new situation is: It is one and a half years after the second Academy thread, 2.5 years to the day of the first; Jedi Master David Miles is the headmaster of a Jedi School dedicated to the fighting and field tatics principles the Jedi rely on when things become "undiplomatic"; the location of the Academy is on a CM colonized world known as Reach, this is also home to a special forces training and research center (exactly like in the Halo books); this facility is where Jedi also learn to construct their lightsabers. This is like the Jedi's version of high school.

Master Miles was killed by over-using the force on Tekentesis V making a Force compression bomb in order to beat back Tak-a-Tamen by weaking his fortress world. He revived himself by concentrating his Force Aura on his primary lightsaber, materialising himself on the Bridge of his ship, the CMS Miles, an Asguard mothership.

Short Bio: Pretty much a carbon copy of his father, Mike is known for his ability for commanding starships like bathtub battleships. Brilliant tatician that he is, he is a little indecisive unless he is actually engaging an enemy at that moment. Usually unable to think up of plans in advance. started learning the Jedi ways at 13 after his father returned from training. Served combat in the Corps during the CM Civil War alongside his friend James Kowalski. The two are both sons of CM Presidents, and were Platoon Commanders in the notorious Alpha company. Played a part in both falls of Tak-a-Tamen.

Perhaps an apparently peace loving Jedi instructor with an ulterior motive? Maybe David Miles is suspicious of him? A Jedi instructor who has a secret allegiance with the Syndicate* and practices the ways of the Sith. His is a desire to undermine the Jedi order from within by gradually tempting young potentials towards the Dark Side.

*The Syndicate is a highly organised criminal network that has only recently become powerful since the end of the war between CoreWorlds and Tak'a-Tamen's forces and his final destruction at Tentenerikis V.

Short Bio: Arrested for attempting to steal millions from the Imperial Banking System, Avon was sentenced to the penal colony on Cygnus Alpha. However he and a few other prisoners escaped onboard an abandoned alien ship when the prison ship travelling to Cygnus Alpha attempted to salvage it. Avon has since been a high prize for bounty hunters despite the fall of the Galactic Empire.

Short Bio: Van was born in a space pirate ship. As a member of the clan, he was given the regular training of any new member, regardless of how young he was or that he was blood-related to some of the pirates. On account of that, he grew up fast, and is often unnusually mature for his age. When Van's abilities began to devellop, the pirates decided, although it weighted heavilly on them, to send him to the Jedi Academy, with the condition he'd get them out of trouble on an occasion there was no other choice.

During this time he explored a great many ancient Sith tombs and abandoned Jedi enclaves throughout the known Universe. His studies into the mystical properties of the Force eventually manifested itself in the discovering of his own Force sensitivity. He has taught himself the philosophies of the Sith and the Jedi and now seeks a greater understanding of the Force to assist him in his work.

Of course they don't know of Earth in the SW universe, however in NS, we have rearranged things so they will flow and work correctly in our RPs...plus, it gets hard to keep everything consistent with over 3500 IC posts of this in the past.


Ok, everybody is in so far. I'll start up today. On the first transport, I'll have the instructors (my three and ED's character) along with Odcal to set up everything.

pretty much. This thread assumes that your character has had a little Jedi training, but is here to develop their powers as far as a teacher can. You'll get more powers with time. All the Students save for Odcal will be on other transports which you can RP at any time.

Short Bio: Named after a famous hero at the battle of Kashyyyk where a Clone Army landed during the 'clone wars', Merumeru grew up as a normal Wookie, among the treetop cities, but was discovered by a Jedi Knight testing the Wookies for force users, and sent off to learn how to control his gift. Stands at 2.3 Meters tall and always has his Wookie bowcaster on him.

Likes: His home : Kashyyyk . A good intelligent game, such as chess. And desroying things that dont do what he wants them to do.

Short Bio: Szagh's strength with the force was realized in a smoky bar on Dosha. In a drunken haze, he picked a fight with a jedi pupil, and nearly eviscerated him, if it weren't for the master's intervention. In all the confusion he was knocked out, during which time the pupil retold the events, including the presence of the force in him. Szagh was roused from unconsciousness shortly after, in a more amiable frame of mind. The master explained Szagh's ability with the force, and offered to take him to the jedi enclave for training. Though he has excelled in his training, he still battles with the innate aggressiveness of his race.

Short Bio: Kasandral was born in the capital city of Ybronneb, Calamar. She was raised by a retired fencing coach, who still practiced the old ways. Kasandral was taught everything the man knew, and became a highly proficient fencer. Her often unorthodox tactics won her 3 national tournaments by age 11. At the age of 12, her tutor was murdered and Kasandral forced to live on the street, with only her rapier as a companion. She later joined the academy, where she joined the Dark Warlord Tak'a Tamen. Now redeemed, Kasandral has offered to help David.

By all appearances, many would think her a dark jedi. She wears tight-fitting black pants and a black tunic, and wears a black cloak. The cloak, her old mentor's, bears the symbol of a red spider, and is crisscrossed by thin weblike stitching through which the Force flows more easily.

During his travels he encountered an odd man who sensed Arvid's connection to the force and helped him with the first steps on his journey to become a Jedi. The man was later arrested by the imperials who accused him of betrayal to the empire and had him executed. Arvid survived. He traveled the outer rim systems for years and years, meditating and learning more about the force. When the empire fell, Arvid returned to Skywalker's Jedi Academy and built his first lightsaber, a tribute to his dead master.

Short Bio: With the imperial regime came the need of good soldiers, even those who didn't join the army could be put to use, bounty hunters and mercenaries were often used to track down those who were considered dangerous to the empire. Reno Dunn served as a hunter from the age of 19, hunting down smugglers and collecting their contraband. As time passed he became better and better with his blasters, while gaining more and more (in)fame throughout the system. Shortly before the fall of the empire, he was given the task to hunt down and kill someone claiming to be a jedi knight. So he bought a ship and travelled to the outer rim to hunt down this "Darkil". He encountered him after the fall of the empire, knowing that he would not get paid, but did it for the thrill of the hunt. His first defeat ever - but it had been an honest fight. Based on his view of the mandalorian code of honor, he decided to join up with the jedi throughout his travels through the galaxy.

Ok, just a brief FYI of what I am planning. I want everything to go smoothly for one IC month (until about next Thursday) and then there will be a merc attack on the academy that willl force us to leave Reach and train in a rag-tag bunch of capital ships, where we will fight some remenants of the Empire.

Also, I need to know what your ships use as a FTL travel. We use coaxial and slipstream drives as our primary and hyperspace as our secondary. The coaxial maps out your current location and destination, folds the space between them, bends the lips upwards onto itself to where it creates a null space that pulls the ship into it with ease. This makes travel nearly instantenous, with speeds up to 150C, and we have special compensators for Einstein's theory of relativity. My slipstream and hyperspace are straight out of Halo and Star Wars.

I use Fold-Space engines from Dune. Except mine auto plot the course instead of having to use prescient navigators.

The Liberator travels through 'negative hyperspace' by crossing the anti-matter boundry. The 5th Empire uses 'skip drive' technology which creates an artifical singularity that then joins two points in space simutaniously. A wormhole if you will. :)

Since you are having the academy attacked, might I ask if Sothan Kor does this along with his Syndicate fleet? It would tie in with his quest to find 'ultimate power'. If not then fair enough. :)

The Bloody Keel, and the other ships of the Xerephen Pride, use slipstream (though they're just learning how to use it correctly now) and hyperspace travel.

Kasandral's TIE Phantom uses hyperspace as normal, though she's experimenting with ways to get it fitted with equipment for coaxial or slipstream.

Oh, and great to see some old faces like ED and Ageaol, and new faces. Great job getting this going, CM! If I were old enough to drink, I'd say I owe you a pint or something, but I'm not, so I won't. ;)

ED, I was thinking the Syndicate would hire the mercs and your villian lead them.

Sure. The Crimson Talon travels with a modern stock sublight engine, as well as a heavily modified hyperspace engine. The regular SW stuff.

Short Bio: The only son of a prostitue who plied her work in the busy spaceports of Chalacta Prime, Culwen never really did get to know a mothers love. Living off the streets as best he could, he fell inn with a gang of local hoodlums and other criminals in his early teens, and thus discovered his one true love in life: swoop racing.

Culwen's talent for swoop racing, however minor, was augmented by the blossoming Force powers within him. A fact which easily turned many near losses into shining victories. At the age of 18, Culwen was well known in certain circles on Chalacta as a up-and-comming swoop jockey of much promise. Needless to say however, things didn't quite go his way.

Culwen might have won more races than he lost, but that didn't matter much when he ended up accidentaly destroying the custom made cloud-car belonging to a local underworld bigshot. With a prize on his head and a good mind for a change of scenery, Culwen grabbed what stuff he could and bought himself passage on the first tramp freighter bound off-world. Since then the once bright and shining swoop-bike ace has been making his way across the galaxy as a gun-for-hire / swoop rider, offering his services to anyone who'd pay him.

Likes: Chalactan mitlacweed cooked just right and spiced with a pinch of mouldberry extract. The hum of a finely tweaked swoop-bike between his legs. A good game of Sabbac. Getting paid.

Dislikes: Low speed limits, synthetic foods and high altitudes.

OoC: I don't really know what I want with this caracter. Perhaps he can appear as a minor villain doing dirtywork as a mercenary or some other, and become one of the Jedi 'fold' later on as the story progresses?

Short Bio: Magius was born into pandemonium. The ship he was on was attacked many times and he ended up on a small, relatively desolate but force-heightened planet with only a few of the crew members. His parents were nomads, and still are to Magius' knowledge, though are possibly dead. He was a natural in the force, training with little cantrips since he was a lad. He stayed on the planet till a small ship came by accidentally, led by a jedi who took interest in the talented lad. He took him in, sharpened his force skills, and gave him the tools to create his very own lightsaber. The mentor died at the hands of simple barbarian wookies who got a lucky shot at the man's weakened heart. Ever since, Magius has been quite somber, and tends to be aloof and arrogant. He continually tries to present himself as somehow omnipotent, and when a weakness reveals itself in him he often acts as if he meant for it. He is not evil and has compassion, but it is always hidden behind a controlled face.
Likes: Intellectualism, Jedi and sith who use their power wisely, trying to overwhelm the opponent and seem to be exerting no effort doing so even if it risks injury or the loss of the fight.
Dislikes: Wasted potential, people who are not productive in their lives and waste away as it passes by them.
Known Force Powers (please limit to two): ability to use the lightsaber very well with the force (throwing, using force to make it fight without holding it in his hands but while it floats in the air) and heightened ability to use the force telekinetically (making objects float, pushing and buffeting opponents, etc.).

A few newbie questions, if you don't mind.

First, combat is completely RPed? I can write what I want, and am trusted not to "god mode" or somesuch?

Second, I read most of the previous pages but not all of them; all I know is a little of Van's bio, the speech given by Miles and son, and the beginning of the attack. Anything I'm missing? Also, do I need to know anything from previous academy installations?

Lastly, how fast will these threads grow? I was on a different thread and it simply grew too quickly for me to post adequately. Will it grow above 1 page per day? Also, how frequently am I supposed to post?

3) there is a lot to know, but in a summary: David, Mike, and Kas were implements on killing the biggest baddie of baddies. They're at Reach to disperse the Jedi training as well as establish a second base of operations for the Jedi Order. This was crucial since the Academy on Yavin 4 was attacked multiple times.
4) These things, if run properly, can grow at rates of over 100 posts in a day. However, there will be large slow periods in which you can catch up. Just stick with it. Read a little and write down the post number and then take it from there
5) Combat is totally RP'ed and I'll help guide you along if you need it.

One last thing: I know I'm supposed to orchestrate my own entry, but should I do that from inside the ship, pretend I was there all along and just blend in, or should I enter realistically, on a ship from outside or from hiding or somesuch? I'll post my entry as soon as I get an answer to this.

I'm on UK time. But I find that when I get up to answer the posts, almost everyone else who are 5 hours behind are still asleep! So catching up is easy :)

Hell yeah. It's happened on both the previous Star Wars threads I've been in. I go to bed one night and the get up to fine one or sometimes even two full pages! But then again there are the quiet moments like this one. That is the way of things... the way of the force! :eek:

I find slightly unlogical for anyone to rebuild such a weapon considering the effects the former one had on the universe. I find it even more unlogical for a jedi-controlled installation to even let it enter their airspace. And if you want a frightening military presence, there are better choices that wont get the whole republic to look at you strangely.

Heh...and it's complete overkill. But knowing CM it'll get disabled/destroyed, in order to further the plot. After all, we're supposed to end up forced to hide away on a ship to train, remember?

the SDS was built to be ten times more powerful and 5 times more armored than the first to help defend our GDA allies. It, Reach, and CM are [b]not[/i] under Jedi control. However, a former CM president *cough*david*cough* happens to be a Jedi master. The SDS was made for the sheer intimidation and power. If you read, it got damaged and left the battle going to a secondary CM world.

Heh, Odcal's first going to kill anyone on the bridge, then he's going to try and see if he can have the ship shoot itself. Then he's going to try and overload the engines/weapons and try and start a chain reaction to blow the ship up. If that doesn't work he'll just go to the reactor/core whatever the ship uses and blow that up. If all else fails go airborne and blast the hell out of it.

Ok, here's the basic plan of the RP.
1) Academy at Reach is attacked-completed
2) Jedi move into mobile training ground/starfleet-current
3) Bad guys chase Academy because we have a book that holds not only the keys to immortality, but the ressurection of any dead entity within the Force, bigger and stronger. The book also contains how to drain the Force out of living or dead beings and assimilate their auras into yours. This book can make you the super-being of all time
4) The Academy rescues the crew of the Liberator through a random jump. We find out the message Avon was to pass on. Attacked by the same people.
5) We defeat bad guys, but at a price.
6) Mike takes over the school with his wife, Kasandral.
7) Bad guy gets book.
8) Scattered resistance back to New Exodus, Crystal Ireland, CM, and Colonies. Big boss showdown, CM loses a few colonies, bad guys lose and die...big evil guy and David fight in the Force Plane for control of each other's aura and soul.

ED, there are over 600 different ships in this Fleet. I think you need to hijack one of the smaller ships and work your way from there to ID all the ships. Also, we are currently at warp and Mike has the book of D'rea and Mosh in a secret compartment inside his room that has Force disruptors inside it.

hey don't worry. I just posted Kas was asleep and Mike had taken a shower. There's a little back story with Chu I want Kas to find out eventually, from Chu of course. Basically both Mike and Chu were drunk at prom and things got out of hand, Chu's dad found out, made the two seperate and threatened to shoot Mike if he ever saw him again. They continued dating for a year afterwards until Mike was shot and nearly killed (.45 slug in the sternum). He just explains the scar to everybody as an old war wound and only his Dad, Chu, and Mike know about it.

Short Bio: Born to a wealthy human who had been victim to rape, Dalveckor grew up a social pariah due to both his status as a hybrid and a rapeborn. However, when he displayed capacity for telekinesis, his mother quickly had him enrolled in the Academy, partly to get some good out of him and partly to get him out of her hair. Like many hybrids, Dale tends toward being impulsive, which he hopes to learn to control at the Academy.

It may be too late and it may not. I joined in the middle of it also not too long ago - about three weeks actually, but the plot has moved about an inch since then, so CM might still allow you to be it.

I don't know much of the plot considering I was too lazy to go back and read, but I think the Academy was attacked and destroyed recently. Which means it would be wierd for you to insert your character as a new student. When I joined, CM suggested I just pretend my character had been there studying the whole time - and because it was such a large academy, it wouldn't be that odd to not notice a student. From there I had my character wake up in the med-wing and said he had been knocked out.

All will be clarified when CM responds.

Yeah, come on in. I plan on putting in a lot of R&R stops in where we take on replacements and new-comers for occasions such as this. Just describe your entry to Sigma Octagnus through a Stargate (watch an episode of SG1 to make sure you get it). I'll walk you through most of the transition. Chu Wang is pretty much there to guide all Cadets through and to fill in plot holes.

Let me describe Sigma Octagnus. It is a fortress world and main hub of CM trading. It is roughly halfway between CoreWorlds and CM. Its terraformed atmosphere still retains some sulfur, but that is still being eliminated by enviroment scrubbers world-wide. Its enviroment is sparse but growing, and its three polar ice caps are located equidistant apart and the planet is in a figure-eight orbit around two suns. This makes it especially hard to approach to attack since it has ten planets orbiting both suns, a minefield, asteroid field with built-in automatic defense stations, MAC cannons on the planet and its three moons, spacedocks surrounding and on the planet, ond planetside and orbital stargates.

Happy New Year to you all! I haven't forgotten the thread at all, but I've been busy.

I have noticed 'Justin' and 'Tak'a-Tamen' being mentioned which I assume are references to the characters in the previous two threads I was in. Assuming this is the case, may I offer a quick summery of the two just so everyone knows who they were?

Evil Warlord Tak'a-Tamen: An ageless dark warrior from another dimension who returned after a thousand years to cleanse the universe of the Jedi by absorbing their souls. After his defeat at the hands of Daniel Masaki, Tak'a-Tamen returned once again from his temple on the dark planet of Tentenerikis V in the Dark Zone.

Leading the followers known as The Order of the Universe, Tak'a-Tamen ignited a deadly war between the Order, and the CoreWorld Alliance which included Mike and David Miles' forces. Tak'a-Tamen was ultimately defeated by his son Kartion which resulted not only in the destruction of the Warlord's dark temple, but Tentenerikis V and the Dark Zone as well.


Justin: An ancient Sage believed to have been one of the first Jedi. Justin, (for which he would insist on being called) was the original owner of the book of D'rea and Mosh, the text of the ancient Jedi.

Justin was the one who fought back Tak'a-Tamen a thousand years previously and sealed him in his temple on Tentenerikis V. Justin vowed to remain behind after the others passed on in order to make sure Tak'a-Tamen would never escape. However his age and deterioration prevented him from fighting the Warlord again and so he taught Daniel Masaki the ancient ways and bequeathed to him his lightsabre and the book. After Tak’a-Tamen’s first defeat, Justin felt his long task was complete and died in the arms of Master Elindil, a long time friend and companion. The book of D'rea and Mosh was handed to the Miles family for safe keeping.

Justin’s real name was never discovered and it was always speculated on whether he was a Jedi or reformed Sith, although popular belief leans heavily toward the latter.

That is one reason why Tak'a has a bone to pick with David even past death.

AAAAAAhhhh! I see. Perhaps... (highlight text to reveal potential plot) ...the book of D'rea and Mosh actually reveals not only the ancient Jedi secrets, but those of Tak'a-Tamen as well. The book will reveal the ancient and dark art of absorbing the soul of other Jedi. It can act as a kind of bridge between Sothan Kor and Tak'a-Tamen's power?

Here is an idea for you to consider; Through whatever means, Sothan Kor finally gets hold of the book. However his greed and lust for control eventually outdo him as the Tak'a-Tamen's power overwhelms him. Sothan Kor essentially becomes the 'echo' of the dead Warlord and David Miles eventually sacrifices himself in a battle against the echo in order to save everyone else. (end of hidden text) Maybe something along those lines?

David knows about this and Sothan actually gets the book, absorbs into himself, and tries to absorb David's soul when David suicide bombs Sothan using a Force compression. This leaves David as a Force ghost and he'll feel that this is best he remains dead. And before that battle, Sothan absorbs Tak'a-Tamen's power as well as the last True Sith making him the most powerful being in the Universe. Either that or David absorbs Sothan's power at the end before he dies so Sothan can never return.

Ok, now that Kas is pregnant, here's some small bit of revenge that Taka can get. Basically he kills the fetus while attacking the Fleet. Mike swears revenge but David beats him to it. He and Taka get in a fight over the book. Both die, Taka getting a Force-blast while trying to absorb David's soul. Sothan Kor then comes in, tries to steal the book again and kill the Academy when Mike bugs out so his support is gone. Then Liam fights Sothan, killing him as he tries to transcend into an ethreal plane, leaving powerless in both here and with the Force.

Anyone disagrees?

Avon is a computer genius who was caught trying to steal several million credits from the Imperial banking system on Chai-Sasha a few years ago. He along with other 'criminals' were sentanced to spend the rest of his life on the inhospitable penal colony of Signus Alpha.

Villa is a certified coward but he is not without his uses. Like Avon (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=10438580&postcount=205) he was sentenced to spend the rest of his life on the penal planet of Signus Alpha. His greatest and most useful skill is to be able to open almost any lock and Villa is certainly never shy to advertise it.

It was sheer luck that Villa ended up on board the Liberator with Avon and equally so in the fact that he survived the final battle with him. The pair seldom agree on anything, but Avon's cool but firm persona usually wins him the argument everytime.

I have to agree. I've skimmed through the 'golden oldies' whilst re-researching my characters and have come to the conclusion that with a little bit of trimming here and there, they would make a REALLY cool Star Wars movie! :)

As evident by my latest post, I've decided to try and flesh Zerghiel out a bit for this RP. I figure rumors are probably all over the academy about the thing, considering the history of it and Kasandral.

I haven't quite decided what makes it tick, though. Still drafting ideas.

Some people might be saying that it's possessed by some Sith spirit, though. And some might say it's some sort of droid intelligence. And some, speaking in extremely quiet tones, even when Kas is nowhere to be seen, say that Kasandral has completely lost her mind, and is merely hearing voices in her head.

Also, another bit of OOC information for our new players. Kasandral's grandmother was a Mirakula, so Kas has heightened Force sensitivity, and the extra power Force Sight, which is pretty widely known throughout the Academy.

Finally, it's well known that Kasandral once served Tak'a-Tamen as his apprentice. It's said that she's fallen at least twice, both times going to Tak'a-Tamen...but some, a very select few, think the second time was a ruse to discover Tak'a-Tamen's location.

Alright, when I said finally, I lied. The Bloodmaidens, Kasandral's personal honor guard, can occasionally be seen in the Academy. There are only a few left, most having fallen in the battles on Yavin and with Tak'a-Tamen. The most well known are Commander Jana, Maiden Diana, and Maiden Ophelia. Each is Force sensitive, and each possesses at least one lightsaber.

Uh..yeah, I think that's all there is to tell. For now. Because I'm the king of OOC yet IC information. ;)

It could be an interesting twist to somehow have either Zerghiel or Kasandral (though seeing as what she just said, it would be less fluid) attempt to lure Liam to the Dark Side. As some of you may know, later in Liam's life, he turns to the Dark Side... though he eventually finds a balance and becomes a "Grey"

Anyway, even if Z or K didn't succeed in tempting Liam to the Dark Side, it could still at least be a hinting to his future.

:D Ya know what, yeah...we could do some fun stuff with Zerghy to get Liam on the road to the Dark side.

Whadda ya think, CM? Maybe even do something like Tak'a did to Kasandral originally, coming to her in her dreams.

Mr Winkie (despite his sexually punnable name) has always been my favorite. He is the most versatile of the smilies - he can mean, "Hey... get what I mean," or "Nice one," or "Slick [/SARCASM]" or even "Hey you! You're a douche bag."
