NSF1 Season 2 - OOC Sign Up!
Kazakhstania
29-07-2005, 10:21
To all those guys who signed up last time, feel free to sign up again. To those whop didn't, welcome to the world of NSF1! You may ahve noticed the last season around, and it was quite succesful, providing the ground work for the NSF1 world. Itwas an interesting experience, and one I would like to repeat.
Basically, you create a Formula One team, and run that team throughout the year, RPing the process. There are ten races, one for each nation that takes part.
Each team is given a budget to be spent, and this is of great importance throughout the year.
Also, each team and their drivers have certain specialities, which come into play on certain circuits. This provides for close racing.
So sign up now and you are guaranteed a space.
EDIT: New rule for the this season - You MUST RP at least once per Grand Prix

Team name - GMD Formula 1 Racing
Lead Driver - TBA
(Will decide all of these tomorrow)
2nd Driver - TBA
Test Driver - TBA
Car Status - Aerodynamic Testing.
I ask for some stats, like max engine size, ect. I'm also gonna submit a new engine design (You see, GEM automotive likes to throw money at things to improve them. It doesn't ALWAYS work, but some interesting things happen when they do.)
Also, seeing as this is a new team entry, I ask you open more slots. There's gonna be some interesting design elements on my cars, but I don't think my drivers will be paricularly talented.

As for your definition of a puppet, it doesn't matter what you think in your own little head. The Definition of a puppet is any and all nations that are controlled by the same human user. If you go by alias Tonissia, and also control S. Packerlands and the Mushroom Kingship, then these nations are undeniably Puppets of Tonissia. This does not mean they are Colonies of Tonissia. That is the whole reason the term puppet was created. The definition you have given is that of a colony, independant of your main country, which is perfectly fine in character. "Puppet" is an out of character term which quite frankly you can not re-define.

I have to say I have noticed Tonissia's bad tendencies, and it sometimes seems like you made no attempt to RP at all.
Denied access, sorry. Vilita's wisdom sealed it.
The Candrian Empire and Imitora, check this out:
www.fia.com/sport/Regulations/f1regs.html - all the rules you will need. Go by the 2004 ones. I think the rules on engines are straight V-10's, no Turbo's and a limit on compression.
Right now the stats for F1 engines are about 950 bhp, 18,500 rpm and god knows how much torque. Latest stat I saw was 0-60 in around 2 seconds.
*hangs head in sadness*...oh the fun I could have with a Four Rotor F1 car...
Anyways, I'll find the info I used for the last sign up and transfer it here. Again, color wise, I'd like to go with blue and white (BMW.Williams cars)

Yeah, the 2004 tech regs are having trouble loading here, but from what I recall, there isn't any particular rule against rotaries and turbine engines, nor one strictly mandating V10 engines, just 3.0 liter max size engines and materials that can't be used in making them and such. As long as we submit a design and it isn't deemed unfair, it should be good.

All I did was agree with Vil, and move to eject Tonissia from the competition - nothing illegal per NS rules. Team Name: Northampton Racing Specialists
Team Speciality: Fast Circuits/Urban
Engine Speciality: Fast Circuits/Urban
Electronics Speciality: Fast Circuits/Urban
Driver One Name: Eric Montoya
Driver One Speciality: Fast Circuits
Background: Eric is the new young hotshot driver for NRS. He started off racing in ISBC on the NRS Aprilia, and quickly moved to car racing. He is best suited to running on fast tracks, a pass over from his motorcycle racing days. This is Eric's first International F1 Championship race, and third over all. He took first in the 2004 IF1R Serries and third in the 2003 IF1R Serries. While racing with ISBC, he went undefeated after his third season, which accounts for the 1998 on season. He strives in all events for a first place finish, and has been called reckless by some, and strategic by others.
Driver Two Name: Dawn Ortiz
Driver Two Speciality: Urban
Background: Dawn was born and raised in Southern Imitora, and currently holds the title of only female driver in IF1R. She is the lead blocker for Eric, and this is here first International F1 Championship. She hasn't been racing long, only three years, but quickly moved up in the ranks of driving. In 2004 she took second behind team mate Eric Stratos, and first in 2003. She strives for first place at most events, yet if for the betterment of the team, she will accept a blocking position.
The Car:
This year, as in the past, NRS has gone to BMW/Willams F1 in order to provide a champ winning car. Taking power to a next step, NRS has had BMW/Williams provide their vehicles with a new 3000cc V10. Producing just under 1,025hp at the wheels (approx. 950rwhp), this new Titanium Aluminum Cast motor weighs 25% lighter than those used in the past, while being well over 75% stronger and capable of handling heavier loads, while reving up to 18,000RPM. The car itself is made of CarbonFiber/Carbon Kevlar mix, making it a full 10% lighter than last years model (not including driver). In order to handle the higher velocities, the brakes have been upgradded slightly, using a larger caliper and piston made from carbon fiber. The suspension is the standard F1 car suspension, but uses an even stiffer damper, allowing much quicker turning. Power is put to the ground through a 7 speed SMG gear box, cappable of .06 second shifts.

Thats everythign from the last thread I put in. Also, after looking over the rules regarding F1, I noticed that while supercharging was outlawed, turbocharging (a totall different procedure) isn't. In the late 80s/early 90s, BMW used a TCd F1 motor that made over 1800hp. Since Kazakh has said no turbos, however, I wont enter a turbocharged car. However, rotaries are out, unless someone can explain to me how you would have a 4 rotar motor with pistons.

Not reliability? He has nearly twice as much funding into that than I do!
Now I gotta find an underhand way to develop those drivers, they really can't do anything but go faster on straightaways.
(It may not have the strongest horsepower, but it's got that low-end torque and a well-spread out high horsepower range.)

As in funding.
The only way you can really develop it is getting good results, which could well happen.

Circuit Type: Fast Speed
Circuit Fan Capacity: 42k. (Another five stands will be made ready by the time the race is scheduled, capacity will then be 84k)

Circuit Description: The circuit is for the most part straight, the corners are all fairly easy to get round, except for the one before the final straight which is renowed for causing spin outs when drivers hit it too fast. The climate in the area is unpredictable, swinging from either very wet or very dry.

Extract from Talmerian Star (National Newspaper)
Spirits were high at the TRF yesterday, upon final confirmation that the Talmerian team, Phantasm, would be accepted into the Formula 1 competition. Team owner Tom Smith was particularly pleased as told us.
'It is great that we have been accepted into Formula 1. IT is the ultimate showcase of driving expertise. The Government has been very generous with its funding of the project and I would like tot hank them for it. They have just finished the contruction of the track, which set them back nearly 500 million ingots, especially for this, and I am delighted that we will be hosting the world's finest here this season.'
He then went on to talk about the team's chances.
'I would ike to say that we will win the championship this year, but I don't think we will. This is our first season, so any decent position would be good. I would expect to see us just below the middle of the standings, and that is a fair target to aim for. These other team's are more experienced than us, but I don't believe they are in any way superior. We could take a couple of podium finishes if the circuit suits us, which in our first season would be great.'
'The car itself is a thing of beauty, the bodywork is white, with a silver wolf silhouetted on the side. Lupurous have worked very hard on the engine, which I am told is very reliable. And Sandall's electronics are also probably as good as anywhere in the competition.'
Upon coming to press the two drivers hadn't said anything to the press, although, Smith was keen to stress how eager they were for the season to start, and hoped they would do teh country proud.
