Welcome to the real world. Forget the worlds of fantasy that you dream about on your nights alone behind your computers. Here, you're just another person, just another brick in the wall of this everyday mundane world. Here, you struggle to pay your bills, you get up at five in the morning to get ready for your mundane life in school, at work, or whatever you do in your awakening hours. You pass by people you've seen every day of your life, you eat the same food each day, and your life is going along as it usually does.

So, nothing can go wrong, right?

Of course it can. Your car breaks down. You vomit on your favorite shirt. You watch in horror as your dog urinates on your homework. You are late for work. You're even fired for that matter. That date with that hot guy or girl is turned down rather coldly. So your day can't get any worse, can it?

Trust me, it's only beginning.

As you're going down the street, down the office hallway, the world around you suddenly shakes with such a violent movement. The lights around you shatter, the buildings nearby collapse into nothing. Your world is literally falling down around you. The sun has failed to give it's ever present light, it's beacon a failed safety for you. Great trees suddenly rise up in the midst of great cities. You stumble and scramble your way to the streets, trying to seek safety, a haven in this chaos of your world. As you look around you, a sudden light suddenly sears all that you see, and you and everyone else in sight are rendered completely unconscious.

October 10, 2005 (or so you think...)

You awaken to the distinct trembles in the ground beneath you. As you rise to brush the dust and grime from your face, you look down the street to watch as a spectacle unfolds before you, a spectacle that you could not have dreamed of in a thousand years.

Actually, let's make that millions of years.

Down the corner, passing an torn up world of post-modern humanity, an ancient king of the ancient world rumbles past, its footsteps the obvious cause of the tremors as you were awakening. Are you hallucinating? And why aren't there hordes of people running away in fear?

A black sedan suddenly squeals to a stop down the street, and men in business suits get out, wielding pistols remniscent of the 1950s.

Across the street from the sedan, a man dressed in medieval armor typical of knights suddenly maneuvers his mount to charge toward the newcomers, his longsword in hand and menacingly threatening to chop off any unlucky heads of bystanders.

You can only wonder if the world's gone mad...

That's not too far from the truth...

All right, this is an RP that I plan to direct, and would like to see some interested, and talented RPers to join. It's going to be open for anyone to join (but I will close it off after I get around 5-6 interested people), but here's a few rules.

1) I expect a decent contribution to each post you submit. A minimum of three paragraphs. Detail the world around your character, detail their emotions. Use your imagination. Consistency in posting is also required, at least one post every few days. Otherwise, you will be left behind, and I'll have no qualms working the plot around that.

2) No one, and I mean no one, is going to role play a character with all kinds of technology, whatever at their disposal. At best, you can be a corporal in the military, or some crackshot redneck in the backwoods of some rural location. Everyone starts out on relatively equal ground.

3) If you wish to control a group of people, then it's limited to five persons or less. As for the types of characters, I expect only humans in the realistic sense. No elves, or fantasy-based characters. It has to be someone that would exist in the real world, but here's the catch; it can be from any time in history.

4) Technology will be limited, as a great deal of it as you know it, will have disappeared. Don't ask how. You'll find out the reason soon enough, if you haven't figured it out by now. If you have questions on what you can use, ask me first.

Anything else I feel should be added, will be added as I see fit. Any questions? Ask.

Pretty much. However, no nukes or that sort. I might allow a chopper or a few cars or the likes. However, keep in mind that fuel will be scarce.

Also, I know I stated you couldn't be someone high ranking. I'm going to edit that to state that you can be those people, but their power in terms of resources are going to be scarce. There's not going to be armies to command to war or whatever. If you want to be King Arthur, Stalin, Joe Dirt, or some regular person that's not noted in history, go for it. Got someone you've always liked reading about, now's your chance to "twist" their lives to this RP. Now you can be that person. :D

Hope that sorts that out for you.

Do you have a character template?
The powerful people only have thier 'charisma'/leadership skills to bank on, no armies, correct?

Sorry Theao, I didn't see your previous question about character templates. I should've thought of that, but I didn't, for some odd reason. However, here's what I'd like to see (Thanks Theao for the majority of it):

Name:
Age:

Eyes:
Build:
Nationality
Time Period:
Career/Job:
Bio:

An example for you to follow (for argument's sake):

Name: King Arthur
Age: 26
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Build: lean, muscular
Nationality: English, Anglo-Saxon
Time Period: 1400s AD
Career/Job: King
Bio: He's a cool king. With a cool story (elaborate on that story). He'd be cool for this RP.

One more thing, if you're going to RP some famous person, do us all a favor and do a little reseach into their history and possible attitude toward others. If you think you can tackle the languages, dialects and speech patterns of a certain age, go for it. Otherwise, you're free to bend the rules a little and keep to modern day English.

Name: Commander James Richardson of HMS Tenacious
Age: 28
Hair: Blond, usually worn in a ponytail which reaches the base of his next
Eyes: Blue
Build: Muscular (what do you expect from many years at sea)
Nationality: British
Time Period: 1800s (Napoleonic wars)
Career/Job: Commander in the British Navy.
Bio: Son of an Army Captain, James was raised in the true military tradition, with the catch cry "what doesn't kill you will make you stronger". At the age of eleven he was put to sea, a cabin boy. By the time he was fifteen he was a midshipman and on his way up. Unmarried, whenever he returns home, he is constantly nagged by his mother to find a 'nice young lady' to marry, but as of yet he has ignored her. His usual attire is that of an officer at sea, brass buckled and extremely shinny shoes, white stockings, cream coloured breaches and shirt, then his blue coat, with the brass rank of Commander sitting on his coat epaulets.

I'm in!

This is the junior version of a character I used as leader of a country in a political sim. Should be interesting.

Name: Robert Holz
Age: 31
Hair: brown, wears cap
Eyes: pale blue
Build: lean, muscular
Nationality: German
Time Period: 1938 AD
Career/Job: Electrical worker, mechanic, volunteer soldier
Bio: Born in Berlin in 1907, grew up amid war and political turmoil. His Father, a communist trade unionist, was killed by reactionary troops during the abortive Kapp Putsch in 1920. As the eldest son, Robert inherited both the responsibility for feeding the family and his father's revolutionary politics. Bright but with no chance of higher education, Robert took up work in Siemens & Halske's electronics factory in Berlin-sciving off useful bits and pieces for the anti-fascist underground after 1933. Robert was arrested by the Gestapo in 1935 and sent to a concentration camp, but managed to escape with help from sympathetic railworkers. From exile in France he volunteered for the International Brigades at the outset of the Spanish Civil War in 1936. Served on the frontline with the Thaelmann battalion at Las Rozas and Guadalajara but eventually became disillusioned with Stalinist leadership. No less determined, he joined the under-equipped Republican airforce as a mechanic for the Yankee Squadron.

One day, diving for cover from a fascist bombing-raid, he suddenly stumbles into a very strange place indeed...

He would have been somewhere near the front. I see him wearing practical workman's attire with a red bandera somewhere and carrying an old revolver and a couple of grenades in addition to his tool kit. And a political pamphlet he was reading. And a gift of chocolate intended for female comrade. And a packet of cigarettes. And his workman's cap, of course.

And that's basically it.

Name: Jered Chartrand
Age: 28
Hair: Black
Eyes: Grey
Build: lean, fit
Nationality: Caucasian
Time Period: 2000s
Career/Job: Vancouver Police Department Detective
Bio: Chartrand is a career police officer with the VPD. As the son and grandson of police officers, he knows the lay of the law and hold to uphold it. He has been cited numerous times for bravery within the police department, and strives to better himself as an officer so as to one day follow in the footsteps of his grandfather, who became police chief of the force.

Chartrand was investigating the rash of sword-related deaths in Vancouver when Time died. (Hey Tarl, I don't think it would be unfeasible for Chartrand to still be carrying his service gun when this incident happened. Is that cool?)

Valient = yes the gun's fine
Zatarack = fix bio and timeline location, then you're good
Assington = pending character application
Golden Simatar = pending character application
Theao

** A few more things to keep in mind. You're essentially RPing either one person or up to four others as well. Therefore, no armies suddenly at your disposal. All persons will be removed from their natural/native environment and thrust into a world they don't understand, cannot comprehend, and ultimately will do what they must to survive as they try to wake up from this horrid nightmare of gigantic proportions.

** Your character will be allowed to use whatever items they have on their immediate person at the time of chaos. Keep it realistic (like how Valient's character is a cop and has his pistol). Also, ammuntion will be sparse to find as well.

EDIT: As of now, assuming that Assington and Golden Simatar submit acceptable characters, this thread will be closed for further submissions. Sorry guys and gals. The boat's sailed on to it's doom.

Nationality/ Race: Dakotah

Ht: 5' 9" Wt: 140 lbs.

Eyes: Dark Wolf Gray

Hair: Blue-Black, straight, thick, mid thigh length, generally braided

Scars/ Birth Marks/ Tatoos: old knife scar upper left arm; old, very faint claw scars on upper back

Body Build: Proportioned for height, feminine curves, long flat muscles, like a dancer or a gymnast.

Profession: Shamaness, Healer, Herbalist,

Time & Bit of bio...1880's

Her name is an 'earned' one - something not common for a woman of the Lakota. While Indian men often changed their names, women very seldom did, and even more rarely 'earned' one. The scars on her back are from an encounter with a Mahto - a grizzly bear - she managed, mostly by fast thinking - to kill the attacking bear, and that act, witnessed by others, 'earned' her this new name ( It occured on a ridge line, where the setting sun siloutted the action. ). She was 15 winters at the time.

She is a widow of eight years with no children. She does not live with any one specific Tiospay, but is Hunkapi and hunkayapi with all of the Dakotah, relative to all, sacred and welcome where ever she choses to be among them ( and by many other nations as well, but not all ).

Heyatawin is recognised as a full Wapiya, a seer and speaker for the unseen. The scandal there is not her sex, but her age!

Name: Archilles (the elder)
Age: 31
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Ice Blue
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 75kg
Build: Lean/Muscular
Nationality: Mycanaean (Ancient Greek)
Time Period: Between 1400 - 1100 B.C.
Career/Job: Warrior

Bio: Archilles is the most famous warrior in all the land. There is no foe that has yet to defeat his great skill and prowess within combat. Many have tried and many have failed. After years of fighting for King Agamemnon, Archilles has grown weary of fighting for the ego of the Agamemnon and his pure greed.

The years have made Archilles wise to many aspects of life, molding him into a more reserved and cautious character than he once was. Thankfully he has learned that not every problem has to be solved with the blade, sometimes the mind can work as well.

Whilst still the warrior he has always been, Archilles has lost much of his desire to fight for the sake of fighting and spends most his time with friends and family, helping out on his family farm and the sort. He claims such a life is what he wants, but in his heart Archilles still wants more glory, the kind he can recieve as the ultimate warrior.

And the alternate character:

Name: Archilles (the younger)
Age: 21
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Ice Blue
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 75kg
Build: Lean/Muscular
Nationality: Mycanaean (Ancient Greek)
Time Period: 1400 B.C. (roughly)
Career/Job: Warrior

Bio: The younger Archilles has many different character traits than that of his future self. Still considered a boy by many, Archilles is young but one of the most promising warriors in all of Greece. He has won every battle he ever engaged and his skills already equal that of many veteran soldiers.

Despite his promise, Archilles still remains brash and sometimes a little too eager to jump into a fight. He needs to learn a few points in diplomacy and general behaviour with others before he gets himself killed. The young Archilles is very much about himself and his superior skill has fuelled this ego.
_____________

Yes this is the Archilles from the story of Troy, yet without the whole legend of being a demi-god and all that. He's just as mortal as the next guy, just a very talented warrior.

Should be interesting to see how things play out with the two versions of the same character.... :D

Zatarack, I was primarily looking for a timeline position. Your bio is all right now, now that I have a good idea of the society your guy is from, etc.

AS, looks good for me.

Assington, I like your idea. It'll be interesting to see how you play that out.

A note to everyone:

Although timelines will collapse as we know it, they will be merged into a new one, where all our characters will eventually meet. Try to keep the characters all on the same continent at the least, if you would (makes it easier to get us all together eventually).

When you start your introduction posts, you may have your character going about their normal day and then chaos breaking out, or you can have it slightly after, looking back in memory to what just happened, and trying to make sense of it.

I will have the thread up today, give me a little time to polish my introduction post and copy and paste it to NS. Remember to have fun, and I hope you all will enjoy this!

Tarlachia
30-07-2005, 08:02
Actually, I was thinking of having an unstable timeline, one that has fluctuations, and would eventually land everyone together. So yeah, Theao, kinda what you suggested it could be. It won't just be one city, it can be anywhere in the world for your character(s). Eventually, time will fluctuate enough to bring everyone into one place (don't forget the beer! lol, j/k). So, if you have a plan to have some crazy stuff going on in your part of the world, go for it, but eventually you'll all see the cue ICly that I'm bringing everyone together. Name:Matsudaira Kane
Age:35
Hair:Black
Eyes:Brown
Height: 5'19"
Weight: 165lbs
Build: Lean/Muscular
Nationality: Japanese
Time Period: Meiji (post-1800)
Career/Job: Warrior

Born in the earlier portions of the Edo period, sometime around 1820a.d., Matsudaira Kane was born into the Samurai caste, the son of a local Samurai Lord of a small village in the Koga area of Japan. Matsudaira shunned the slowly increasing Western presence in Japan, finding their actions, their culture, their way of life, dishonorable. He urged his father, the eldest Samurai in their small village, to shun the Western influence, and stay true to the way of the Samurai. However, like most Samurai of the period, his father gave into the ways of the West, and, at the urging of his lord, adapted the use of weapons and other modern influences. Enraged by his father’s dishonor, he, in a blatant and open act, challenged his father to a duel. Not for control of the village, but for honor.

On a warm July morning, as the sun crested the mountains, Matsudaira Kane and his father commenced the duel. Matsudaira, with superior training from a direct descendent of the famed Miyamoto Musashi, ended his father’s life, but not before receiving a wound that would scar him till the end of his days. The bullet from his father’s pistol struck deep, piercing Matsudaira’s shoulder. However, Matsudaira, realizing what he had done, refused medical treatment. Convinced that ending his father’s life was the only honorable thing to do, Matsudaira also refused to commit the act of seppuku. Instead, he fled the village, a Ronin.

It was in the secluded mountains of the Koga region where, while meditating, he found a purpose. For several days and nights, he dreamt dreams of a world where the sword would be the true weapon, and those with firearms would be considered dishonorable. He set off on a quest to discover a form of combat that would allow a swordsman to defeat any number of opponents, armed with firearms. Armed with his katana (Ryunari) and wakizashi (Toranaga), as well as a yumi, he ventured to the land that he despised most, the Western nation of the United States, where he would study those who used firearms, as well as start the development of the martial art that would bring an end to the use of weapons by those who considered themselves honorable. As he set his foot down on the soil of California, a tremor ripped through the air, through life itself, and he found himself stumbling along in a world that was not his own.

Some thoughts. Maybe this is a bit presumptive, but my latent GM persona is rooting for ways to introoduce chars to each other! Sorry if this bothers anyone, and if so, just ignore.

In terms of geographical character placement, the scales between North America and Europe seem to tilt slightly towards the latter, unless we have the Imitora's Ronin popping in to the former. On the other hand, the Euro-located characters are probably more travel-prone, even if war is their motive...

Maybe we could have two points of concentration on each side of the great pond and bring them together later? So I will just think about Europe for now and leave out the New World.

Normandy or somewhere on the coast of France looks like one good meeting point because a) Schultz is already there, but no doubt mobile, b) Edward has a decent motive to sail to France if he lives early on in the War of the Roses and the Hundred Year War is not yet over and c) my own Robert was on the losing side in the Spanish Civil War and if his friends all disappear he could fix up an airplane and head for France until fuel runs out.

Achilles would probably need to meet up with Captain Richardson to get going-unless his Myrmidons have already launched an expedition to find Atlantis or something?

Personally I've set my sights on meeting with Schultz first, he is after all my char's closest contemporary and the nearest geographically. Furthermore, although they may be more or less on the same side in their historical context, Schultz might be forgiven for distrusting the German accent!

What about it, Golden Simatar?

Add-on edit: I note that there are more military types than I originally expected. Warrior, man-at-arms, naval officer, Interbrigader, paratrooper, a cop, maybe a Samurai... Let me emphasize that although he's a veteran of a couple of campaigns, my character is principally a mechanic/electrician type who only landed in a war due to his convictions, not because he sees combat as his calling. That's why I didn't give him a rifle. In addition I'll limit him to exactly 12 bullets and one grenade until something else turns up.
Assington
30-07-2005, 11:59
That's one way of looking at it. The other would be to assume that this time thing can also effect physical location. Just a thought, i'm not particularly partial to any way.

It is just interesting that going black seems to be the natural reaction, who knows, they could witness time around them bending and breaking (now that would be very cool)

I don't mind how y'all have been putting in as how your character experiences the weird stuff going on. Going black-out? Great. Going some other unique way? Even better, makes to act as a comparision.

Anyways...I'm going to put up my next post, so sit tight y'all. To those who haven't posted, this is a kick in the butt for you. Guess what I'm looking for from ya?

Posted...That took a while.

Don't worry about getting your characters to interact with one another. I'll be making that happen in my own way sooner or later. I've got ideas I am still working through for this, so just sit tight wherever you are, explore a bit, but no long distance movements. Remember, chaos is all around you, and everyone has been displaced from their original locations, save for Michael Burke, who's currently trying not to become a Dutch meal for two Rexes hehe!

Edward's in Kansas correct?
Minor edit suggestion, put everyone's name in brackets before the relevant post.
Tarlachia
01-08-2005, 06:37
Yes...you're in Kansas. No, Toto is nowhere in sight. The dog got sucked up into the chaotic vacumn of that time rip.

Poor Toto... :P

Next time, I'll put more of an effort to identify through the story being developed who is being affected in some way. If I feel it necessary, then I'll do the name in brackets.

But then again this whole thing seems to be hmunga.

Quandary

Hi Druid, post a character based on the template, if one of the slow-shows doesn't show, Tar might give you a chance to join.

Druidic, do that, and I'll consider your entry if Quandary or Zatarack don't post soon. I've gotten notice from Valient is working on his post as we speak, so keep your eye out for a bit more good reading.

Egads, I'm bored out of my mind...one of my other RP sites is down, and it's where I spend the other 50% of my RPing time at nowadays...

((Well, if either of those two dudes don't arrive, then I'd be happy to join in...))

Name: Jake O'Connor
Age: 17
Hair: Dark Brown
Eyes: Green
Build: Athletic
Nationality: American
Time Period: 2000s
Career/Job: Bagger at Foodlion
Bio: Jake grew up in Stafford, Virginia and was raised by an Army Sergeant First Class for a father. He was average in school, being one of the anti-homework types that passed every test in flying colors, which was enough to get by. He had a circle of friends who were similar in personality to him and would often stay out late into the night with them, partying or skating at his high school.

And that's really it, if one of those guys don't appear, then I'll add more about him in the Intro post. Well, I'm gonna call it a night. 4:10 am is late enough for me...

AS, you're in the middle of the Everglades National Park... in a zone of the world that is currently unaffected for the most part by the time rip. However, that will change in due time. There are no real roads in the Everglades, as a vast majority of it is swamp land.

Also, you might want to edit your last post, as your guy went into water, not on dry land...

Druidic Clans, nice bio. I like the effort to be just a regular everyday guy. It makes RPing so much more interesting then. Keep an eye on this thread, and I'll let you know if I'm pulling executive action here to let you into the RP. If I do that, then I'll request that you sort of condense what has happened in the time rift for your character, and catch up roughly with the rest of us.

Just to check ahead of time in case one of those two guys don't show up, is it only dinosaurs that have appeared everywhere? Would there be a group of archers from the Medieval Era or even a caveman running around? So far it seems everyone's been running into man eating reptiles...
Tanara
01-08-2005, 18:28
Oh I don't know if Heyatawin's medieval knight classifies as a man eating reptile, though she does classify it as bad medicine and just left him there.

and I do love the way that Hollywood and Vegas got intertwined.

Maples and other eastern woodland trees have never been in the Hot Springs/ Wind Mountain area of Wyoming ( which I chose as they are some of the oldest formations on the continent and I knew that they'd be there for darn near anything and set geological features are so nice as 'mapping' points.) And what is a creek thirteen thousand years down the line - a seasonal flow ravine...yes long experience as a gm has made me thoroughly evil.

Now to find the remians of a sporting goods store and to find a better( heavier draw) bow than a light 'hunting for the pot' bow and bird arrows. Though sadly I can't justify her having anything to do with a camed and torqued modern compound bow. But a Harry Drake made recurve would suite her just fine.

DC, don't worry lol. I know it seems all so one-tracked in the chaos, but it's only starting to begin. I've got some more surprises up my sleeves and I'm waiting on how to throw them out at y'all. I know that right now it seems that dinos are the only thing terribly out of place, but what's the fun in letting out all of my NPCs at once?

Yeah, I know it's Chaos, but it's going to be somewhat controlled. An oxymoron if you will.

I take it we're ignoring language problems, correct?
Otherwise we have medieval Japanese, Classic Greek, Old English, A native american language and I'm sure there's something I've forgotten.
Tarlachia
04-08-2005, 10:28
Actually...I think it would be comical to see the characters attempting to bridge the language gaps. Give it a shot. If a lot of people don't like the idea, then tell me, and I'll go ahead and just call it a ingnorance of the langague barriers.

I knew someone was going to ask this, but I forgot to mention it on here.
Assington
05-08-2005, 07:40
Communication would be impossible. It seriously would not work, there are no similarities between any of those languages.

I say we just ignore that barrier.
Tanara
06-08-2005, 19:33
Tarlachia- I think I'm going to have to go with Assington on this one ( namely the language barrier )

It might seem fun to try and over come it, but boy will it prevent us from getting any sort of cooperative things done.

Though we do have a bit of a possible - our fine British Commander might ( just a stretch as latin was far more likly to have been studied ) have studdied some classical greek ( Assington you can quit laughing now, as I do know that classical and spoken greek of the time period do NOT match! ) but it might be a start...and we have several people that speak enough varients of English, that it might be possible, but boy will it be a headache and a half...

and I really am not looking for headaches in my rping.

Tarl, just give us some sort of ability to understand one another, the babel fish effect if you please.
The Golden Simatar

unleashing waves of bable fish...hmm..interesting. Considering Arthur was freaked out to say the least for a bit even with someone who know what they are and with 'the Guide'....picture a lot of people who don't know what they are and don't have 'the Guide'.

Oooo..that will be fun....do it.

Hmm...interesting idea. Let me sit on it a bit, until I can have both the right frame of mind for posting, and a chance to form what is necessary to the plotline in regards to this.

In the meantime, feel free to wander and chat amongst yourselves if you're close to someone else. Or, create NPCs.

Any NPCs, I will ultimately control the fate of, if they last longer than a single post. If you wish to keep them around for a reason, you better let me know on here. Otherwise, you're S.O.L.

Why not break the language problem in your next post, some sort of result from the time flux.
Also would it be possible to get a response from the Kansasite, as Edward is going to keep praying until he passes out or she leaves(this will mean to him that he's past the test.)

Druidic Clans, you're open to join this RP if you want. Check your TGs.

Zatarack, Quandary, you're both on RP suspension until you can tell me why you're not posting, and if you plan to actually post at all. Or, you can just remain silent as you have, and you'll be considered out of the RP.

Yeah, I'll give you a reply, but you'll have to sit tight a bit longer. I'm nearly falling asleep here, and that wouldn't do any of you any justice to have a million 'k's making up the majority of the post.

Don't worry, I asked Druidic Clans if he could catch up and just toss his guy into Kansas to give you some company.

All right then, best of luck to ya AS. Keep an eye out for future RPs, as you've been good with your posts, which in turn has given you credibility and good status in my eyes.

Also, if you're interested in joining our region, Fatal Terrain, let me know via TG, and I can send you the password to enter. Normally you'd be put before the board, but I'm pulling rank here and admitting you personally, should you choose that option. Fatal Terrain is a region for character RPers, and usually proof of good RPing skills and cooperation must be shown.

Just a thought for ya. In the meantime, take care.

Ok...b/c I'm feeling bitchy right now, Val, you're going to get a taste of what I do when I'm at work and having to deal with incompetent employees who work under me...

*eyes twitch*
*clears throat*

Val, what the hell are you doing? I know you heard from me that I wanted this RP to remain realistic (realistic meaning anything from real world history thrown into the mix), and therefore, giant spiders that remind me of Shelob's offspring jacked up with steroids, are NOT realistic.

I'm going to give you one chance to remove those spiders, before I become very...very unhappy with you.

And if it happens again, you're losing your commission. Don't like it? There's the door.

...

err...ignore that last bit...kinda got carried away, as that is something I'll say occassionally to certain employees at work.

Seriously, get rid of the spiders and replace them with something else, something from real world history, or I'm gonna call the Godly Bug-Man.

EDIT:

One more thing... I really frown upon those taking control of my primary character. You've done that with Burke. Don't do it again. In fact, I'm going to ask you to delete your entire post there, as it is entirely not what I wanted to see happening. Rewrite it to something better if you want, but as of now, that post with the Shelobs-on-steroids is considered NULL AND VOID.

Rick, I'm not too sure about the accuracy of your paratrooper hearing about Japanese treatment to their POWs in WWII at that time in original history when your guy was taken along for Willy Wonka's tunnel of DOOM: Version 2. Might want to keep in mind to keep knowledge of WWII stuff limited to what the guy would really know.
