OOC: This is my first thread, so bear with me
IC: It was a warm, summer evening in Heliar City, capitol of Ashlavar, when the poor protestors began their riot. It all began when an influential socialist was shot by a capitalist radical. Large amounts of poor, malnourished people began overrunning middle class and upper class neighborhoods... Severely hurting many and killing others. However, when they reached the capitol square, the Ashlan military was waiting for them with tanks and guns. It only took a split second to disperse what the government called: "an open act of rebellion" as tanks and infintry opened up on the crowd mercilessly. Those that survived were taken into custody and await trail on charges of treason.

2 days later at a press conferance with the President
The reporters all rose as the President of the Republic of Ashlavar walked into the room. He was a young man, in his early thirities, his dirty blonde hair was combed nicely and he wore a pin stripe suit. The reporters sat down and took out their notepads as the President began to speak.
"Two days ago, as I'm sure you all know, was a grim day." The president began. "A large group of people rose in active rebellion to destroy our way of life and replace it with an oppressive system that cannot work." He continued looking up. "While the situation could have been handled less violently, there will be no investigations or court martials on our military.... We hold our military to high standards, yes, but the rebels were relentless and brutal." He stated frankly. "Many homes are now burned and many lives are now crushed over an easily solveable issue... Treatment of the poor." He remarked, a somewhat angered look on his face. "These people had ample oppertunities to get jobs, they just chose not to.... They chose the method of laziness.... Freeloaders will not be allowed to flourish in our great nation." The president said raising his voice slightly. "We shall seek the highest penalty we can give for those who were captured.... Treason shall not be tollerated in the Republic of Ashlavar." The president continued. "Let it be known also, that this rebellion has only bolstered the resolve of my administration to defend our constitution and to defeat all who threaten it." He said with a hard look of determination on his face. "Thank you and I will take no questions." The President concluded as the reporters began to yell question after question.

"You realize that this will come across as brutal to other nations, right Todd?" His vice president asked.
"Yes, I realize that, Paul, but that's why we're an isolationist nation." The president said as the car sped off. "After this, we shall have no backlash at the poor.... Policy shall remain the same.... I won't allow the civil liberties of everyone to be attacked because of the actions of a mob." The president said as he lit a cigar.
"Very well, then we shall execute the traitors if found guilty at their trial, then let this all pass." Said the Vice President.
"Yes, even if they are found innocent, there will be no backlash... I don't want this to become a giant grab for power by the federal government." The president remarked. "I don't want to dicuss this issue anymore" He concluded as they got out of the car at the Presidental Mansion.
