28/7/05: The Classic

Hi, welcome to the first edition of the International PGA. The weather has been a bit unsettled today and it could get nasty. 50 Players from all over the world have gathered here at Mexicona National Golf Links. Play started early this morning and the last of the players have just completed the 18th hole. All players performed well beyond expectations but only three are worth mentioning. Tiger Woods shot a good round of 5 under par with back to back birdies, eagle and 1 bogey. Chasing him down is Ernie Els and the new young player from Mexicona, Jason Micks. Ernie Els is only 4 under par after a bad tee shot on the par 5 11th. Jason Micks is also tied with Els at 4 under par. The worst score of the 50 players is the young lad from BlackHill Mafia at 6 over par. Play will resume for the second round at 6pm EST. The best recovery shot was made today by John Daly. John landed in deep rough on his first shot on the par 5 17th, but played an excellent shot and landed the ball within 10 ft of the hole. He missed the chance of eagle by several inches but made a good birdie. John Daly remains at 1 under par for the first round.
Thanks for listening

The Entire funding comes to US$325 Million

The third round has just started. Tiger Woods has fallen back after a terrible first hole. Woods teed a brilliant shot up the fairway but lost it to the wind on the second shot. Woods then made several shots to reach the green from the rough. Ben Overgooi is currently leading the round after a birdie and two back to back eagles. Ben is currently at 10 under par while tiger woods is at a mere 5 under par. John Daly has fallen back to 4 under par along with Ernie Els, Adam Scott. John Jacobs has made a good recovery after the first three holes. John is currently at 8 under par.

'im chasing him down all the way' tiger woods said during an interview about Ben Overgooi. Although tigers failing so far on this hole, this round is all about Tiger Woods & Ben Overgooi....

As the hosting nation for the current event we are proud. Although our players on field are not playing as good as woods, daly, jacobs and so on. As our hosted event draws nearer to a close, a common question is will any of our players win an event on the IPGA. Our best player Craig Phillips is at 3 under par. Will he make a comeback???

David Toms shared the lead with Phil Mickelson at 4 under par. The rugged conditions proved Tiger Woods was not going to lead today. Hes at 1 over par for the day. Ben Overgooi is at 4 over par at 31st place. Ernie Els made a back nine comeback after several bogeys and a double bogey. 5 straight birdies and 2 eagles made him elgiable in the top 3. Adam Scott is performing well but not to his best. Scott is at 2 under par for the day.

Play resumes tommorow. Will Woods and Overgooi make a comeback. He will win???
Mexicona
29-08-2005, 06:59
Good effort by Toms and Mickleson. I personally would like Mickelson to win his first IPGA Event an better a major like the upcoming IPGA Championships.

Woods and Overgooi will make a comeback (i think) but both will miss the first prize which will be taken by Ernie Els or John Daly.
Betting is at a high rate due to the IPGA. Keep it up

Predictions for the IPGA Championship:
I believe Adam Scott will win. Els second and Overgooi Third.

What do others think about this???

We believe Woods will make a comeback as he always does but Overgooi will not during the event. On predicting the IPGA Championship i agree with Mexicona but in a diferent order. Els will win followed by Overgooi and Scott with Woods and Daly trailing. These are only predictions

As we are not a particpating nation in the IPGA Tour, our opinions do not matter as much as those participating. As a keen golfer, and after reviewing the results we believe John Daly will win the IPGA Championship. Ben Overgooi will be the best player in results and money followed by Tiger Woods.

When do the qualifications for the IPGA 2006 Tour take place. We would like to submit two players???
Is this possible?
What qualifications do they need???
Shearwaters
29-08-2005, 10:31
The qualifcations for the 2006 IPGA take place a week after the last event of the year which in this case is the IPGA Championships. We will allow your two players to try out at the qualifcations if your players are ranked within the top 25 Golfers in Sultka and have won more than 2 national events within your country and are not particpating in any other tour. Once they have qualified for the IPGA Tour they are elgible to play (as they wish) in all events other than majors. To particpate in Major tournaments on the IPGA they must come win or place within the top 15 of any event to be eligible for all majors

Thankyou
IPGA

We also thank you for applying interest in this years tour. Perhaps we could allow one player, only one player to particepate in the remander of the years events including majors....

Going into Round two Toms and Mickelson paired together both shot a 7 under par. Toms shot three birdies and mickleson shot an eagle and a birdie to stay in the lead. Tiger Woods climbed the ladder slowly finishing at 3 under par. Following Woods at 2 under par and at third place is Ben Overgooi. John Daly, Ernie Els, Adam Scott and Matthew Rost are tied for fourth at 1 under par. Vijay Singh, Craig Phillips and John Jacobs are at even par.
Craig Phillip, a pro tour player on his first year of professional golf, made the cut and shot up from 8 over par to even par at 5th place. Craig shot several bogeys and a double bogey to fall behind at the fifth hole by the time he reached the par 4 18th, he had shot two eagles on the 7,11 holes and 4 straight birdies on holes 12,13,14 and 15. On the 17th, he had a eagle chance but allowed it to shoot past the cup. He then had a 4 footer to putt but missed it by only a few inches, he then made par. If it wasnt for the bad eagle putt, Craig would of been tied with Daly, Els, Scott and Rost. Bad luck

We have our hopes high and wide for our Craig Phillips to win. He's our only player currently playing on the tour. We would like submit a player for the qualfications for next year,

Player: Tony Sullivan
Tony Sullivan is ranked 2nd in our nations and is the defending champion for several national events. He's won two events internationally on the Asian Tour, whereas Craig has not. But however Craig tops him in course stats and ranks higher on the money....
Craig Philips has won $933,234 this year and Tony Sullivan has won $532,235

Well, its that time again. Tuesday 6th, will prove more winners and losers. The Sony open takes place at Casino County Golf Links. Players will compete for US$983,743 first prize while the last player after the cut will recieve $11,325.
The links is set alongside the Pacific Ocean. Its rugged terrain, large bunkers, deep rough and challenging holes will prove a good challenge. The course is a par 72, with its hardest hole being the par 5 14th. It bends to the right and left again with bunkers from 350 yards all the way to the hole. Its know as 'sandy hell'. There has only been 1 eagle on this nasty hole, plenty of birdies and pars and of course many, many bogeys and double bogeys. This hole can prove greatness or a bad loss. As this is a home course for John Jacobs, he is familiar and going to try to win, like all players.
There is a large chance that Ernie Els will win this event.

The battle is on between Woods and Overgooi. Will one of them seal another victory in the Sony Open? Who will win this years IPGA Championship? Who will win the sony open? Who will win this years overall IPGA Tour stats?
Overgooi and Woods will sweat out competing for the big one, but will Ernie Els or perhaps Singh sneak on it to win?
Your opinions may vary between others but lets see whos closer!
Out of the 780,000 golfers and Golf fans within our country 67% believe Ben Overgooi will win, 20% for Tiger Woods and 12% for Ernie Els. 1& for John Daly. Who will win???

This ones a big one! Majority rules! We believe John Daly will win the IPGA Championship, Tiger Woods will win the overall stats and wins and Vijay Singh will win the Sony Open. Ernie Els will come second on the overall stats followed by Overgooi.
We will be submitting players for next year and hope they perform well. I must admit i am proud of Ben Overgooi and his first year on a pro tour. As a amatuer in previous years, he has done well on Tour winning events and taking down the Big Tiger Woods. Well Done

Casino County Golf Links - Sony Open

Round 1 started at 6am EST in very dangerous winds. These winds proved the downfall of some but victorius for some. Ben Overgooi currently on the 8th hole has only made 1 birdie and several bogeys with three pars. Tiger Woods on the 9th hole made 4 birdies and a bogey, Retief Goosen made an eagle and birdie, Vijay Singh made 3 birdies and several pars, John Daly made an eagle and two birdies and a bogey. Craig Philips made three double bogeys and a birdie to match his pars, Ernie Els had a failure on the first 4 holes but picked up - Els shot 3 bogeys then an eagle and two birdies. Phil Mickleson and Chris DiMarco both shot 2 birdies to stay at 2 under on the front nine.
Tommy Armour went down by firing a birdie then 5 double bogeys in a row, David Toms shot 1 eagle and Adam Scott fired three birdies and an ace on the 6th.

Most players stayed at the same score as yesterday due to slow greens, thick rough and heavy rain. Tiger Woods however is leading at 9 under par, Els at 7 under par, Daly at 6 under par and Retief Goosen at 5 under par. Ben Overgooi attempeted to catch the lead with a good front nine holes but lost it. He is at 1 over. Chris DiMarco shot up witha good 15 holes to 4 under par along with Tommy Armour III
Vijay Singh and Phil Mickleson has an average day at 2 under par.
David Toms suffered the worst, he made the cut and is last at 5 over. Toms hit plenty of bunkers and rough. His shots strayed from fairways, his chips went over the green and his putts come up short or flew past the cup.
Round 3 continues tommorow....

Thick rough, slower greens and high winds mocked the players who began at 6am EST. The rain has stopped for Round 4. Tiger Woods has played 3 holes making a birdie, bogey and birdie. Overgooi made bogey, bogey and par. Els made par, birdie and is currently on his 3rd hole. All other players who have started remain even with their scores from yesterday's.
Tiger Woods - 17 under par
Overgooi - 3 over par
Els - 8 under
and so on.....

The Tournament is between Woods and Ernie Els, instead of Overgooi and Woods. People believe this will bewoods last win this year and Overgooi's downfall. They beleive that Ernie Els will begin winning more events and win the IPGA Tour.

Current Top 3 on tour including this event:
Tiger Woods (T1 in wins,stats)
Ernie Els (2)

The World Match Play event starts on Tuesday at Serpent Creek Golf Links. Serpent creek is an inland course with tight fairways, thick rough and challenging holes. There are only 35 bunkers in total on this par 71 18 hole layout. Renovations have gone ahead in the past months to ensure a good event. More trees have been added, more tighter fairways, sloped greens and ugly tee postitons....
IPGA Officials believe Serpent Creek will be the toughest course so far this year. Even though the WMP has not been played yet the course will be amougst those for next year. There are no predictions or anything on who's going to win.
Tiger Woods is not playing at this event so the win could be taken by anyone although officials have lined up 10 of the 15 players competing who have a high chance of winning.
Here they are - Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, John Daly, Tommy Armour III, Adam Scott, Retief Goosen, Chris DiMarco, Phil Mickelson and Craig Philips. Its going to be an excellent round...

So there are 9 majors! Is there 4 or 5 main majors????
How many players are competing in the IPGA 2006 Tour?
If you are a tour player how much (roughly) do you play for each week?
Just asking a few questions about the next tour.
I understand we cannot have a major on our soil until the second year after submitting players. But we will give it our best in winning and have a well organized few events on our soil......

Yes, The Players Championship - Red Lake Golf Links, Shearwaters
Banks of Mexicona - Tobacco Lane Country Club, Mexicona
The Masters - Klakistany National
The IPGA Championship - Shearwaters, Majestic Resort and Golf Links

These are the four majors of the 2006 IGPA Tour.
There will be between 45-70 players competing. A final list will be released after the 2006 qualifying rounds....
Players compete for for around US$7,500,000 a week and US$12,500,000 during one of the above 4 majors...
You are correct about not having a major until your second year. You will be trialed on your performance on hosting your three events next season. If all goes well, we may allow you to host one or two majors....

Round 1 for the WMP Event at Serpent Creek Golf Links tested the players severly. Chris DiMarco lead the round at 4 under par followed by Retief Goosen and Vijay Singh at 3 under par. Settling at 2 under par after an upset round is Phil Mickelson and Tommy Armour III. 1 under par had to settle for Ernie Els, John Daly and Adam Scott. Craig Philips remains at even par.
Ben Overgooi's round was just plain ugly. He had a round of 3 over par along with Brad Faxon and David Toms. The other 3 players are just not worth mentioning for their scores.

If ben Overgooi places out of the Top ten and John Daly does, Overgooi will drop out letting Adam Scott take the 5th place postion. Good Luck Overgooi!

Round 2 was another test for those playing in the sudden-weather changes. The Weather changed from Overcast cold day this morning to a hot day over 40 degrees discouraging players from concertrating. Chris DiMarco fell back but gained the lead at 7 under par followed by Vijay Singh at 6 under par. At 5 under par is Retief Goosen and Ernie Els. 4 under par is Phil Micklson, John Daly and Adam Scott and Tommy Armour III.
At 2 under par is Ben Overgooi along with Craig Phillips. At 1 under par is Brad Faxon. David Toms along with the other 3 players missed the cut.
Overgooi made a small comeback today. Will he make a bigger comeback and win or place within the top 10 to stay in the overall top 5. DiMarco is holding tight on his lead but will Singh, Goosen or Els make a slip through? Is it time for DiMarco to clasp a victory or two and take over the charts like the powering Overgooi and Woods? Is it time for Singh to lead the charts?

We would like to hear your opinions and predictions on this. Thanks

Its good to see a challenge amougst those competing in the WMP Event. I believe Woods wont be so dominate next season, he'll be more like Els, Goosen and Singh. I think its DiMarco's Win this week. DiMarco will become more dominate next season while Singh will take out at least one or two more wins this year. I've changed my predictions on who will win the 2005 IPGA Championship. I believe Phil Mickleson and Retief Goosen will tie but Goosen will win the playoff to win. I wonder what really will happen?

Here's my Prediction for the Overall Top 5 for this season
1. Tiger Woods
2. Vijay Singh
3. Retief Goosen
4. Ernie Els
5. Phil Mickleson or Chirs DiMarco

The once tour senation Ben Overgooi will place around 8th this season. I do see Overgooi playing well next year clasping a few events and a major but will not be dorminate as the same for Tiger Woods. Move over guys its time for Singh, Els, Scoot, Goosen or DiMarco to rule!!!
Maybe a new player next season will lead us.....

2. Ernie Els
3. Vijay Singh
4. Adam Scott
5. Retief Goosen

How are you (each nation) changing/preparing your courses for the 2006 Season? There are expectations for "major event" courses:
In the 4 "main" majors these only effect Klakistany and Mexicona:
1. Must offer a good challenge suitable for a major event
2. Fairways must be tighter than usual
3. Bunkers need to be changed/built so they become more of a hazard forcing players to rethink etc
4. Tees must be built/changed to a Tournamental location
5. Clubhouse/Resort must hold enough capacity for the players
6. Hole Locations must be (tournament) in a good challenging place
7. Greens, Tees, Fairways mowed daily
8. Spectator-Friendly

Thats all for now....
Mexicona
14-09-2005, 10:24
The Classic - Mexicona National:
Mexicona National during normal play offers a good challenge. In preperations for "The Classic", only a few fairways will be tightened, only a few tees will be moved back, 9 bunkers will be built, 2 new greens will be built replacing the 7th, 13th, a few trees will be added and thats all. The Resort offers plenty of Accomadation for both Players, VIPs, Officials and Spectators.

Banks of Mexicona Classic, Western Open - Tobacco Lane Country Club, Mexicona:
Tabacco Lane Country Club is still in construction due to finish in late october. It will feature very tight fairways, 51 bunkers, Nasty Tees and just plain ugly severly sloped greens. Although there are plenty of trees already planted, more will be added ready to attack a stray ball during tournaments. The Club House is large. A Seperate building offers accomadation to hundreds.

International Pro-Am - Mexicona State Country Club:
Mexicona State Country Club will not be changed at all. It complies with all the tournament expectaions.

World Cup - Palm Spring Country Club, Mexicona:
Pal Spring Country Club will build an extra 15 bunkers, 3 tees and a new green (15th). The fairways are rather tight. It complies with all expectations

There you have it. Thanks....

Round 3 was more of a test for survival then for any positions within the ladder for this event. Chris DiMarco fell back to allow Vijay Singh to move in at 9 under par. DiMarco took an 8. Retief Goosen, Ernie Els and Adam Scott were at 6 under par. Micelson, Daly and Armour III were at 5 under par. Ben Overgooi took an easy front 9 with an eagle and several birdies but the heat slowed him down at midday losing concentration and fell to three under par.
Faxon and Craig Philips setted at 2 under par making all pars, no birdies and bogeys. The predicted Heat will sear players in their final round going for a first prize of US$788,347
