"He who has done his best for his own time has lived for all times."

Gaia – Burmecia

Siesatia had been under the leadership of President Nicholas Crescent, descendant of Freya Crescent, for over 300 years now. Having taken over from the shamed ex president Drake Rille after the Third Cherry Ridge incident, he had re-forged the Union into an intergalactic superpower. Not many disagreed with how he did business… except the extremists, and they were few, and far in between.

He had steered the country through many crisis, including the ESUS Civil War, and the infamous pirate raids which had nearly toppled the country. The last even, the pirate war, had lost him a lot of support with some of the more extreme factions of the people, he had devoted far too much of the navy to the Core worlds, which were already heavily defended. Gaia had an entire array of Temporal Gauss Cannon Satellites, but he had still insisted on the entire fourth fleet being put in charge of the defense of the planet.

He sat in contemplation in his office inside the massive castle that had once held the Burmecian Monarchy over 1000 years ago, before Siesatia had adopted the planet as their home world…. Heck, it was before Siesatia had even been heard of. On his wall was a picture of his daughter, Jessica Crescent, who now taught the very Dragon Knight Academy that sat behind her.

It had been over 1200 years since Mist had been seen on the Mist Continent. Mist, being the pure essence of spirits, diluted from their normal cycle. And now, the stuff was flooding through the planet. No reports of Mist Monsters had come in yet, but it was only a matter of time.

This had something to do with Ilifa. He thought, Ilifa being the massive tree on the Forgotten Continent, which was responsible for the channeling of souls, and their return to the living.

It had been Ilifa last time…. Back when his ancestor, Freya Crescent, had assisted in the destruction of the creature that was causing the mist, and the sorcerer, Kuja, who had created the creature.

This was bad, very bad indeed… the regular military didn’t know about, or understand how the tree of life worked. And it was to stay that way, all they knew was that they were to defend it at all costs… not that the massive shrubbery needed it… it had always been more than capable of defending itself against most threats…

He couldn’t contact the Dragon Knights either; they were currently undertaking the trials.... A hundred mile trek through the most dangerous territory on Gaia… But there was one other group who could help… the Dragoon Templar, the religious knights who had taken up residence near the tree. He had to contact them…
