our government has found that "divine will" is a poor motivating factor in combat, fine for propoganda, but it takes more that that to keep the troops going. we consider Psi-based weapons to be a measure of last resort, and endeavor to destroy any influence trying to disrupt the balance of the universe.
that said, May the light of True Crystal shine upon you, and may the Dark Cabbit protect your people.
The people of Mahria are animist. It is our belief that each living being-plant or animal-has a spirit, and that those spirits can be reincarnated into different animals and plants. Occasionally, the spirits can be called upon by our shamans. More powerful spirits are present in mountains, springs, sacred places, and weather.
We have two ethnic groups, the Nathi and the Tlaloc. They have a largely similar religion, but differ in the practice. In the Tlaloc branch, Father Sea is the dominant god while for the Nathi Mother Earth is the most important. (This is because the Tlaloc are largely nautical, while the Nathi mostly stay in the jungle.)
Our religion tolerates any other, believing that the spirits and higher deities care not which name we give them, and that another's interpretation is just as good for them as ours is for us. (That said, we do not appreciate missionaries. They are often very tiresome and arrogant. We usually mock them and throw rotten fruit if they don't take the hint.)
OOC: this is a very cool idea. I'll definitely keep an eye on this.
