The Rise of Redball, Part Deux

The Silver Turtle

Space was quiet.
It was always quiet. Sensors detected a slipstream event, at the edge of the Na’Treak system. Even this, a rip in spacetime and intrusion upon it by the slipstream, caused very little noise. The benefits, one supposes, of space being a vaccuum.
A vessel matching the sensor profile of a pirate DSA was detected, but instead of moving to intercept it, the system defence battlegroups continued to act as if they hadn’t seen it. Strict orders had been issued not to engage. Instead, they continued to monitor its progress.

(OOC: Firstly, please be aware that this is set in, what is now, the past. It's part two of the Redball saga, continuing from here, The Rise Of Redball (Part One) (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=388100&page=1). When I started that, it was set in the present. However, due to OOC circumstances etc I've become rather inactive, and that dragged on far longer than it was meant to. So, while OOC time has been chugging away incessantly, IC time has too, and so what I'm now RPing as the present is set about five or six decades after the events of these Redball RPs. But I want to do these RPs, and so I will. As long as you understand this is not the present, but the past, but the not-too-distant past, but not the very-recent past. Got that?
No?
Confused?
Yes?
Well, now you know how I feel :p )
