You are hereby invited to an open conference on the matters of modernizing, developing, and utilizing an effective military force;

And to discuss military alliances and potential arms trading;

Which will be accompanied by a delicious gourmet meal cooked to your personal specifications by a certified Iron Chef (tm) and promptly followed by an evening of entertainment, including Slovokastanian celebrities, a dissertation on modern tank force tactics by the esteemed General William Banks III, hero of the Slovakastanian Civil War, and a Grand Ball held in the later hours.

As a gesture of kindness, the Grand Minister will also host a tour of his palatial estate, and honorarily dub all participants in this great affair Allies of the Republic.

All world leaders are encouraged to attend; feel free to also invite the members of your military command staff.

General William Banks III was filled with an uplifting sense of pride as he watched the national delegates arrive. Ah, finally! People are beginning to recognize the benefits of shared military knowledge. General Banks had personally been stigmatized by the previous near-lack of such international unity, to the point where it was hard to cooperate and coordinate military operations between alliances.

From where he stood in the Grand Minister's palace, he could watch out over the entire estate as he finished assembling his uniform. The General's shoes were polished, his uniform ironed, and his medals glowed with light as he put them on, one by one. Finally, he donned his Medal Of Honor, personally presented to him by the Minister himself. Banks was ready, and went downstairs to greet the delegates personally.

Storm Mistria stared up at the building before her. She had hoped to get there sooner, but tracking down Canth L. Simmins, the young man beside her, had been work. He'd been a Warlord for the monarchy of Spadi that had fell just six months prior to the current date. Canth hadn't stayed on with the government after Storm had been elected, but she trusted his opion as far as military went.
"Now that we're here, where are we supposed to go?"he questioned, his blue eyes boring into her.
"Ah . . . I'm not entirely sure about that,"she admitted, feeling quiet foolish.

Dowd looked very out of place next to the two Four stars ont he way to the conference, both Admiral Sarah Taggerty and General Andrew Doughan cut imposing fiures i full dress uniform, The General's the dusky red of the MArines (Mondoths only land forces) and the Admirals the Deep magenta of a Naval officer. both wore white gloves and dress shoes. Both were impresively built, each aproaching two meters in well porportioned height. Dowd by comparison was a small man, wearing a dark blue fromal suit with a white shirt and black pants. He was a scant 165 centimeters and was ever so slightly pudgy. Never the less, all three strode confidently into the Imperial Palace.

"Greetings!" Banks said as he shook the hands of the two military officials and the short man between them. A large smile was on his face.

"May I introduce myself as General William Banks III of the Slovakastanian Operational Military Wing. And you are Taggerty and Doughe? I've been looking forward to being able to discuss tactics with you..."

Storm and Canth, after a bit of wandering around, found four men in one room, three of them in military uniform.
"Looks like we found it,"he muttered.
She ignored the prior warlord and took a few uncertain steps toward the men.

Ah, Doughan actually, and this is Dowd (gesturing to the appopriate person) he's here to establish diplomatic relations. This will be a very interesting event, Mondothian armed forces are somewhat uh 'unconventional' in their approach and I believe that getting a new perspective on strategy will greatly benefit all involved.

"Of course. And, ah, yes, Storm and Canth of Spadi! I recieved your reply. Welcome!"

"Thank you,"Storm said with a nod,"And once again, thank you for the invitation."
"You'll be William Banks then?"Canth questioned, surveying his medals with a look that said he was impressed with what he saw.

Hello the thomish empire would love to join your confrence

Two black cars pooled in front of the Slovakastanian palace. The valley opened the dark doors to the long limo, the first car in line, and out stepped two figures; first a fair woman clothed in a black cocktail dress and after her a middle aged man dressed in a dark blue military outfit, with many medals shining proudly on his chest. On his head, he wore an Endorian general’s heat, a very distinctive feature with a silver symbol of the Federation at its middle, and on his hands were snowy white gloves. Together, they climbed to the entrance of the palace in silence. Once inside, they were shown to a very large and luxuriously decorated room where people were already silently talking.

“The conference seems to have begun” The general spoke.

“Don’t be foolish, general, they aren’t going to start until everyone arrives.” Miss. Collins replied.

As he stopped to cough, several delegates noticed the several pounds of gleaming metals on his chest. Many of them were aware of how he had single-handedly won the Slovakastanian civil war...

Laurabeth looked around the large room. She nudged the general at her side.

"Look", she said, "I think thats general Banks. We should go introduce ourselves."

The two figures moved closer to their host.

"Good evening" general McClay spoke, shoving his hand in front of Banks. "I'm general McClay of the Federation Army and this is Laurabeth Collins, one of our top egg-heads back at the Research Center." He received a very cold glare from his companion.

Banks proudly shook MCclay's hand, then the so-called "egghead".

"Well, I'm very honored to meet you all, but I believe that the Grand Minister would like to meet you in the Grand Ballroom momentarily. Just follow the Lestana Force security agents directed to accompany you. I'll come along in a moment, but I still need to finish some other duties."

Canth glanced over at Storm, who shrugged and started to follow the agents.
"Remind me why I agreed to this?"he asked, falling into place beside her,"I'm sure a few of these delegates know that I helped lead Naricissa's campainge to conquer nations for no good reason. You would have done better to bring Ariel."
"Canth, relax already. If they know what you did, they know what you did. Besides, if they know that, they must know what a merciless person Narcissa was."
The agents stopped and it appeared they had reached the Grand ballroom.

Rear Admiral Steven Peterson and 3-Star General Susan Duffek arrived outside of the Grand Minister's Estate. Susan was fidgety and constantly fixing her uniform, wiping of invisible dust and straightening her hair.

"Calm down Susan, we're here." Said Admiral Peterson.

"Easy for you to say Steven, this is my first time at a gathering this big, with this many important people, I want to make a good impression of our military." General Duffek responded.

"Ah, it's not that bad, and your always trying to make a good impression, when are you gonna relax a bit, you don't have to abide by regulation all the time." He responded.

"I am not always trying to make a great impression, and any way if i acted like you all the time I'd still be stuck at a 2-star rank, you do know that's why you haven't been promoted to the rank of Admiral yet don't you, you're always breaking protocal and disobeying orders."

"Yes, but I wouldn't be our military's foremost authority on Naval combat if I followed the book all the time. And besides, that's how you got to be our foremost authority one air combat, you remember the Red Flag exercise don't you?"

General Duffek was about to respond when they arrived at the door, Admiral Peterson opened it for her. "After you ma'am." General Duffek walked by and said "Thank you REAR Admiral." She knew being called Rear Admiral struck a cord with Steven.

The P.M. of The Thomish Empire Tommy Flanagan entered the room with the King. King Thomas. the King told the P.M. to fight with love for the country at the confrence. the king who had no real power was just here to show support.

They sat at the nearest table

The P.M. saw a friend of his the storm mistria. He waved but she seemed distracted! he waved again and she smiled back and called to him "I will talk to you later"

Meanwhile the King was talking with an Slovakastania offical.

"Who is he?"Canth asked, jerking his head towards the man who had waved at Storm.
"The Prime Minister of the Thomish Empire, Thomas Flanagan,"she replied,"A friend and allie."
The two sat in silence for a moment or two, waiting for the conference to begin.
"Why talk later, why not now?"he suggested,"Nothing's happening right now anyways."
Storm pondered for a minute.
"You know, you have a point there."
She made her way over to Thomas, Canth trailing her.
"Hi Thomas!"she greeted him,"Nice to see someone familar here."

Hi! how are you? who is this with you?

The two obeyed what the general had said, and followed the agents. Soon after, they took their seats at a table. They were alone, at least for now. General McClay was eyeing the people in the room, recongnizing soom of them, but there were many new faces. Suddenly, Laurabeth cleared her throat loudly.

"You called me an egghead! Infront of a general!" She exclaimed.

"And an egghead you are." The general calmly replied, smiling curtly at her.

"Alright McClay, listen up: I know why you're acting like this. You're still angry because the Premier gave me the position as leading delegate instead of you. If you think about it, he was completely right to do so. You're... unstable." She said, her eyes sparkling dangerously. Once she was done with her lecture, she wrinkled her nose and took a sip of water that was on the table.

The general stood up. "I think I'm going to go and mingle." And with that, he was gone, leaving an angry Laurabeth fussing behind him.

General McClay was anxious to meet the other delegates, but wasn't sure if simply approaching someone and saying HI! was going to do much good. Laurabeth was right... He was 'unstable', or more likely, he just didn't have her class.

"This is Canth Simmins, he was a warlord for Spadi's monarcy before it fell,"Storm told Thomas and the King,"And I'm very pleased to meet you."
Canth said nothing to either of them, and she nailed him with a glare that said 'be polite and say hello, would you?'
"Hello to both of you,"he said nodding.

"For the second time today,"Canth muttered under his breath.
She nailed him with a glare and he just gave her a shrugg. Shaking her head at the man, she spotted a General looking somewhat unsure.
"I hope you don't mind excusing me,"she said,"But I'd like to meet him. I'll be back in a few minutes."

The Grand Minister entered the room.

"Sorry to keep you all waiting, but I had pressing matters involving terrorism and a nuclear storage facility. The situation's under control now."

"Welcome to the conference!" he said, sitting at a plush chair at the head of a table in the center of the Ballroom. "Please, sit down. Our Iron Chef will make you anything you desire! In the meantime, it is time to start our conference."

"I still can't understand my you brought you entire purse with you Susan." Said Steven.

"A lady always has to come prepared Rear Admiral, no be quiet, the conference is about to start."

Canth and Storm managaed to get seated once again as the Thomish Empire's King made a suggestion.
"Maybe we should all make suggestions of topics."
Storm glanced over at Canth. She knew he had had a suggestion when they left Spadi.
"If we're doing it that way, I have one."he announced,"Home defense. Believe me when I say this, most countries defense on their nation are poor. I should know."

With a quick motion from the Grand Minister, the Thornish Empire rulers were grabbed by armed security personnel and taken to another room.

Admiral Peterson leaned towards General Duffek. "I'll handle this one."

"We do not believe that we should embargo Hatria for building up their military, it's their business and as long as they do not attack anyone we would have no solid reason to take any action against them. That is all"

Admiral Peterson hastily sat down as he saw the Thornish Empire rulers grabbed by guards and his guards attacking them.

What is going on said the P.M.

As soon as the Grand Minister entered the room, Jonathan retook his seat next to Laurabeth.

"Mingle enough?" She whispered, the same glass of water from before pressed to her lips. Suddenly, the Grand Minister made a motion with his hand and the security removed a delegate from the room.

"What was that all about?" Jonathan asked, confused.

"I'm not sure..." Laurabeth replied, taking a cell phone from her purse. She pressed a button on it.

"What are you doing?" The general asked her.

"Alerting our agents. They're on stand-by." she answered.

That is no reason to do that! my body guards we defend us and we have personel by our chooper who will help!said the P.M.

We dident know! their is no reason to attack me and my king!

"Next time you drag me along to a meeting, I'm going to ignore you and keep my mouth shut about my ideas,"Canth hissed at Storm.
She looked worriedly over at her allie.
"I have to say I agree."

Storm glanced at Thomas and then the Grand Minster. Drawing a deep breath, she stood. Though she might be ruining Spadi's chance for more allies and a better military, the Thomish Empire had been her first allie.
"I wonder if you would mind telling me why this is nessecary."she questioned the the Grand Minister.
Canth stared at Storm as if she were crazy. /Here we go/he thought grimly to himself before standing beside her.

The Thornish Empire rulers were allowed to return to their seats. The Grand Minister scowled.

"We do have an agenda, Thornish Empire delegates."

"First off, welcome. This is a grand opportunity to enhance global unity. Primarily, we should allow the delegates to introduce themselves and their qualifications."

"Anyone?"

Laurabeth raised her hand proudly. Jonathat sighed.

Storm sat back down with a low moan. What she had thought would be a good idea now was turning into an international nightmare, in her opion.
"I swear, this is the last time I attend an internationl coference,"she muttered.
"We both know you'll be at the next one that pops up."Canth said with a lopsided smile.
"Ooo, you be quiet."

"Thats it" Laurabeth said, as she stood up.

"Collins, what are you doing, for god's sakes, sit down!" Jonathat persuaded, pulling her sleeve but achieving nothing.

"Fellow delegates, please stop! Where is this leading us? Our nation has just recently survived a revolution. The old regime was destroyed as the new one took over. This has left our once secure and powerful economy shaken. This conference is our chance to reassure our economic power. Why should we risk the prosperity of all our countries just because of a misunderstanding? The Federation of Endorian States is one of the strongest powers present here tonight. We have no intention of letting this conference go to waste."

The 3 Pyrostani deligates enter the room, escorted by a single troop with the light red-and-black armor of the Pyrostani Elite Guard. They seat themselves.

"Excuse us for being late, gentlemen..." Logan peers at Storm. "And ladies. But modern aircraft only moves so fast."

"I agree with her,"Storm said, lifting her head off the table,"Can we atleast hold off the fighting until /after/ the conference?"

The Air Force General Staffer--- the highest authority in Pyrostan's Air Force--- smirks, talking to his Naval compatriot, but speaking loud enough for all to hear. "A bunch of military nuts come to a conference. Not surprising they get into a fight."

Canth summoned a grim smile to his face and turned to the Pyrostan General.
"Well this military nut bidds you to be quiet,"he said in a cheerful voice.

"Not at all. Continue. I apologize for my security's actions, but the Thornish Empire rulers wouldn't stop talking enough for the other delegates to speak."

"Ok, I can't take this anymore." whispered Admiral Peterson

He stood up quickly and said in a loud voice. "Will you all just shut up, be quiet, and give the Grand Minister a chance to even get the conference started! I expected better from these delegates, I've been greatly disappointed by the Thomish Empire's King and Spadi's representatives, has it ever occured to you that the Grand Minister may actually have an agenda to discuss? Apparently not seeing how you don't even let him begin. Now shut up and sit down."

Admiral Peterson quickly sat down. "Why did you do that Steven!" Whispered General Duffek. "Because they wouldn't shut up." answered Steven.

"Gentlemen and ladies, we have gathered here to today to discuss the growing international need for unity in the military community. With the rise of rogue nations, it has been increasingly important to form lasting interactive relationships in which we may form an interchange of our military strategy."

"Thereby, I have formed this conference to discuss among willing nations this need, and to enhance the bonds between our nations. This conference will extend into the later night, and tomorrow, there will be a war game guided by our very own Slovakastanian Lestana Force, the most elite units in the world, commanded by our war hero, General William Banks III. I truly hope these measures will enhance global unity."

"We do have an agenda, and because of the Thornish rulers in particular, we may have to speed it up a little. First off, I would appreciate it if each delegate could introduce themselves and their position."

IC: "Well, the conference shall begin."

"First on the agenda is the tactical utilization of infantry in situations without armor support. As you know, in many situations there are places where tanks cannot enter but defensive armor is already in place. This includes wartorn cities with barricaded streets, hardwood forests, rainforests, and other such areas."

"Is there anyone who would like to address this issue?"

"Indeed, this is one of the situations where Mondoths ground forces excel, being a primarily tankless force our troops are trained to deal with out heavy armored support. The main problems faced in these situations stems from the individual soldiers lack of communications capabilty and easily mobile heavy weapon. To make up for our lack of MBTs the Mondothian Marine Corps utilizes higher artillery to soldier ratios and uses generally more acurate Artillery. Additionally every soldier is equiped with light anti tank rounds that can be fired from their underbarrel weapon and anti tank missiles are issued on a one per two squad basis rather than the more typical one per platoon. To combat the loss of MBT's as communication platforms, we have integrated a radio communications system similiar to the IVIS vehicle management network, this battlefield network allows unparralled communications between individual soldiers and gives Mondothian soldiers an unmatched advantage in unit coordination. These changes in addition to the widespread adoption of the LEGION suite of integarated Infantry equipment, an evolution on the 'land warrior' concept have allowed our ground forces to operate effectively without Main Battle Tanks in virtually any situation.

"Our infantry tactics are close to Mondoth's, we train our troops in urban/close quarter combat from Day 1, our infantry use the as of yet unvieled to the public "Hell Jumper" Battlesuit, the battle suit provides protection to up to 7.62mm NATO and Soviet rounds, included is a mechanical argumentation system(Developed by japan) that allows troops to pick up objects up too 3x the weight they could normally carry.
In addition we use many armor defeating weapons, standard issue weapons to our troops include .45cal Battlerifles (M-01) that are accurate up too 600m with a 2x and 5x zoom scope and carry a 60 round clip.
The standard SMG (SMG-02) uses 9mm caseless ammo which carries an 60 round clip or a 120 round cirular ammo box.
Our sniper rifle (SR-03) fires a 25mm DU SABOT round that is capable of defeating most APC and IFV armor up too 1500m away and kill the most armored troops at 2500m distance with a 2x, 5x and 10x zoom scope.
We also issue troops a .45cal side arm, it has a small 2x zoom scope and a 9 round clip, it's capable of kill armored troops at 50m.
We also issue AT/AA missile launchers at the squad level (one for evey 5 troops). They are dual barreled laser/radar guided 105mm rockets capable of destroying almost all MBTs in service.
Our last urban combat weapon is a 8-gauge shotgun capable of shooting many kinds of 3.5" rounds including but not limited to regular shell, solid slugs, SABOT rounds or 3.5" HE, Frag or smoke grenades."

"One of my earliest jobs, before I reached this level, was a pilot of the PHOENIX program. I was the first. So I feel I'm most qualified for this question. You see, the PHOENIX is designed for use in broad, large-scale environments--- like some sort of plane. It's best deployed in rocky, uneven areas, that other armor have difficulty moving in. It can also be used effectively defending the outside of a city or encampment--- we rarely use the PHOENIX inside of a city."

"The armor is as light as possible. Up to two of these can be transported in a single carrier, and up to one in a single frigate. Despite this, the PHOENIX isn't designed to be mobile. Laurabeth spoke. "Hm, I don't really think there's any need to 'buy things'. Most of our countries have a strong enough industry sector to produce weapons on their own. As far as defense goes... general?"

Jonathan rose. "Well, the Federation has three levels of defense. The first one would be Tactical, long rage. We have missile bunkers constructed throughout the country. TCMs, thermobarics, nukes... You name it, we've got it. Also, there's a lot of flak cannons and SAM missile batteries constructed in cities in case of air raids. Now, the second level consists of our tank and air force. I can proudly say that our air force is well feared and respected. And our new APOCALYPSE tanks will make anyone think twice before attacking. The third level I'd say is pretty desperate. Incase our tanks, planes and men fail to defend us, all major military installations are 'purged', so nothing confidential is left. We pack up, and go to the capital, where we prepare our last stand. We use MDWs (mobile defense walls), I believe Pyrostan has something similar. Basically, these are large, heavy armored vehicles, armed with SAM batteries and the same gun tanks use. It looks a lot like an old siege tower, 'cept that its made outta iron. It has multiple windows for machine guns and grenade launchers. They're usually at least 15ft of height. Anyway, we use 'em to block city roads, barricading ourselves between buildings. Also, we roster our troops in buildings that are hostin' the MDWs between them. Effectively, this creates a wall. It isn't easy penetrating those things, I can tell ya' from experience."

Defense is a primary concern o fMondoth's Governemtn, People and Armed forces. Our first stage, long range active defenses include stealth strategic bombers similiar in function, though much more advanced, to the B-2 bombers. Also, we have developed a new type of intercontinental missile that makes non nuclear payloads cost eficient, the Inter Cntinental Trans Atmospheric Missile which utilizes SCRAMJETs to achieve a hypersonic velocity in high atmosphere. The Missile literaly 'skips' over the atmospphere until it noses down in a ballistic path towards the target, the missile is capable of accepting nuclear payloads but is usually loaded with various special purpose ordnance. Close n we have a series of shore defenses disguised as common strctures such as houses, farm building, grain silos and other civilian structures, these house active and passive radar systems, analysis software to determinate between merchant vessels and aggressive military ships. Farther inand a similiar strategy is used to conceal permanent Anti Air /Anti Missile batteries capable of destroying many stealth aircraft as well as defending Mondoth from Ballistic missile attacks. in an aggressive situation, we have inflatable wall structures made of composite fabrics that are capable of withstanding most heavy weapons fire such as anti material rifles and infantry grenades. For mobile airdefense, our standar anti armor missile launcher is capable of firing a basic anti air missile similiar to a Stinger missile. We have also invested much money on the design and creation of new armor and camoflauge systems, advanced missile guidanceprograms and powerful surveilance tools.

OOC: I guess I'll just talk about my defense

As part of the Intergrated Defense Program, we have satellites in geosync orbit over the nation, along with mobile microsat launchers in case we lose them. The microsats last about 4 weeks before they run out of propellant. The newly formed Civil Defense Force, operates daily F-16 patrols in our borders, our Coast Guard has been working hard to upgrade too. We've also placed SAMs, microwave LASERs, and Flak cannons in and around major cities. We've kept a large tunnel system that connects the capital with smaller military bases in and around it. We've purchased many mobile-AA systems, from SA-8s, to the Arrow missile system. In keeping up with paranoid government, large buildings conceal Flak cannons and AA-SAMs, radio stations can double as RADAR stations for us in case of wartime and a few classified things I'm not allowed to talk about. Our Advanced Weapons Program has yielded a few advancements and we are working to get them mass-produced, watch your radars for our newest storefront to come out.

So, if we desired to destroy just one building in a line of many, we can guarantee that only our desired target will be destroyed."

Well our tank corps consists mostly of the AVT-97R, (Think Chinese Type 96 with advanced armour). They preform much better than its predecessor, the AVT-90M. A 130mm smoothbore gun firing a variety of rounds. Supported with the M2 Bradely and the remaining AVT-90Ms as other troops they can be very effective. Their only deployment was in Saharistan where they helped crush enemy ressitance (T-55s and T-62s) very quickly. The most unusual feature is a LASER whose soul purpose is to blind enemy viewfinders. Proving rather effective in night combat. Our tankers carry the MP-7 PDW (SMG) in case they are caught off guard, the commander however uses an AK-104. Though we've thought of phasing this out as any sign of leadership will be targeted by enemy snipers.

Our AA Defence consist of a Patriot/S-400 cross over called the S-500AC4, Bradley Linebackers, LAV-AA, Computer controlled Dual 35mm AA 8 Barrelled Gattling guns mounted on an M1A2 chassis(sp?). ABM defense consists of ground-based LASERS and MASERS bounced of mirrors mounted in orbit, THAAD missiles launched from satellites, and ABM missile sites."

The Admrial watched as those delegations were carried out of the conference room. A smile broke across his face as he watched them leave. Mondoth utilizs the Highly succesful 'Gorrilla' AIFV. much like other AIFVs it features interchangeable parts such as turrets and weapons to accomplish various missions such as command, infantry support, light artillery, light tank, anti aircraft, NBC warfare, recon. communications and Rocket artillery among others. the system uses a basic compsotite armor scheme that protects well against most small arms fire as well as a scattering of light anti tank weapons. the Gorrilla also offers the ability to attach secondary armor such as ERA (explosive reactive armor) and heavier composites for additional protection. The Gorrilla is equiped for unmodified amphibious mobility, can achieve speeds up to 65 mph road and provides plenty of room (in most configuratione ) for up to seven infantry soldiers as well as a four person vehicle crew. The Gorrilla is easily transportable on any of Mondoths 'family of heavy logistics transports' which includes ships, landing craft and aircraft. The Gorrilla can be comfortably used with a specially designed (and very large) parachute in aerial insertions while fully crewed. The Gorrilla is a highly mobile, versatile armor platform that is capable of taking enemy fire and returning the favor from almost any terrain however inaccesible.

Leafanistan is currently updating its APC corps. We use mostly BMP-3s, and we have several hundred BMP-2s in reserves. We also use a conversion of the T-55 and T-66 platform to mount a light autocannon on it and use it as a 6-8 person APC. Humvees are the currently fast APC, fully armoured and with a mounted .50 cal MG on top. Reserves hold the older Sungri Scouts (Jeeps) with mounted .7.62mm MGs. As for Command and Control Vehicles the altered T-62 platform is the main resource, though we have Humvees that can be converted in a few hours into C&C with a kit that can fit into a 5-Ton truck. Also for when we have control, a convoy of Isuzu trucks with radios, satelinks, etc. show up and can be used to quickly set up a Command center.

-Top road speed: 68km/h (roflmfao, not even possible) - If you'd take the time to ever study a schematic, you'd learn that the thing on paper isn't always applicable in reality. In "normal" terrain, a tank can be expected to travel at about 30-50 km/h, with a road speed of up to 70 km/h.
The issue in getting from point A to point B is an important paradox in tank design. On paper, or during any "test drive" of a few hours a single tank offers better off-road performance than any wheeled fighting vehicle. On a road the fastest tank design is not much slower than the average wheeled fighting vehicle design.
In practice, the huge weight of the tank combined with the relative weakness of the track assembly ensure that the maximum road speed of a tank is really a "burst" speed which can be kept up for only a short time before there is a mechanical breakdown. The maximum off-road speed is much lower, but in general it cannot be kept up continuously for a day, given the variety of off-road terrains and their unpredictable nature, with the possible exception of plains and sandy deserts.

Anyway, I believe it was the ever-effective Germans who got the idea of spreading some sort of canvas in front of the tank, over the mud, so the tank would move across the canvas and not get stuck. This is similar to the canvas, 'cept that it is self deployable. Happy, or do you want me to go into more detail?

Titanic could, technically, still operate if 4 of its 5 tanks were filled with water. By 'operate' I mean it could float. It sunk because the water was spreading too fast, the damage was too severe and there were too many breaches. Anyway, if 70% of the tank was damages, it would still be able to, say, fire from its gun, or keep soldiers inside, etc. All depending upon which part of the tank was damaged. It wouldn't be able to go from New York to Los Angeles, but it maybe could get you to a 20feet away military bunker!

[If the tank was under constant fire from flamethrowers then the pilot wouldn't be able to see, infrared wouldn't work (because of the huge amount of heat), and computer targeting still needs to be able to see someway.

Like Thomish was told, I'm pretty sure everyone here can produce their own equipment, we're here to learn new strategies and tactics, compare notes and establish military alliances, not to buy stuff.

The Arstetch tank unit is not currently for sale.

-Width: 3.5 m
- Length: 7 meters (humvee chassis, re-structured with additional lattice support and resistant armor plating)
-Carries supplies, and is also equipped with enough supplies to keep pilot in full alert for upwards of two weeks
-Redundant engine systems provide track mobility and turret rotation power
-Top road speed: Upwards of 50 km/h- because it is based off an extremely modified hummvee chassis, it can retain high movement for larger amounts of time than standard tanks
-Top battlefield speed- varies- is extremely manuverable even in the worst of conditions.
-Extremely accurate camera sensing systems with a visual accuity 10X higher than that of any pilot
-AI controlled automatic secondary weapons targeting
-Multiple weapons systems- side-mounted heavy machine guns, main medium-caliber turret, and long-range mortar mounted on top of turret.
-Most units contain dual flamers attached to the front to smoke infantry from buildings and clear underbrush for APC approach.
-Contains radio jamming and chaff launcher equipment.
-Immune to flame-based weaponry- liquid nitrogen keeps the interior within acceptable limits, while exterior sighting systems are armor-plated.
-Multiple redundant systems allow the tank to function at partial effectiveness even under severe systems strain.
-Camera-controlled vision, air-filtering systems, and magnetized blast doors completely eliminate the need for hatches that infantry can see out of- also, turret-mounted weaponry is operated by the gunner and computer systems. This allows is complete CBS protection.
-Very effective platform against infantry and vehicles. Also serves double duty as a medium-class defensive vehicle.
-Unfortunately is vulnerable to airstrikes.
-Ceramic armor is thin yet provides incredible resistance to proppelled shells and rockets
-Heat trail is eliminated (partially) by liquid-nitrogen cooling systems, allowing it complete protection against heat-seekers
-Sound dampeners reduce the trace sounds of the Arstetch to near zero- certainly low enough so that it can completely evade radar
-Anti-Shock gears completely eliminate all damages that could be incurred from drops, giving the Arstetch the ability to jump off cliffs up to fifteen-twenty feet tall
-Also contains barbed wire deployment systems- barbed wire is generated on-craft by battlefield scrap, although it contains 25 square kilometers of wire standard.

IC: Admiral Peterson's cell phone went off. He received a cold stare from General Duffek. "Sorry everyone, forgot to turn it off."

He leaned over to turn it off, but he saw the caller, it was the President. 'Hmm, what does Mr. President want?'

"Yes Mr. President.... What?... They didn't! Those assholes!... Yes we'll be back in less then 7 hours.. We're leaving now... Bye." Admiral Peterson then pressed a button on his phone, 10 guards deactivated there active cloak and walked out from the shadows. He turned towards the Grand Minister and gave him a cold glare.

"Sorry, but we must leave, something has come up back at the home front."
With that he turned to General Duffek who was shocked. He lightly grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him so he could whisper in her ear. "Listen, if we want to live we need to get out of here, now." General Duffek was scared at Steven's behavior, but one look in the eyes told her that he was serious. She nodded and walked close to them as they walked out of the building with their guards around them.

"Have we actually discussed strategy?" said Admiral Alleulia dropping his wine glass. "Oops"

"On to the next topic," the Grand Minister said. "Naval operations. What are your opinions?"

The Admiral stood. "Right, finally. I'd like to start with pointing out the current trend in the world. Everyone is buying Super-mega-ultra-totally not compensating for something-dreadnoughts, whose overall usage is limited to shore bombardment. Leafanistan is not immune to that and has purchased one super-dreadnought, and 2 pocket super-dreadnoughts. We've put them to good use in shore bombardment. However people are still thinking in the outdated mentality that shells and battleships will win major engagements. I've seen fleets incompetently organized with battleships over the destroyers and cruisers. I've seen them fall to aircraft launched from carriers, destroyers, and our battleships. I've seen them fire shells at us, and we've returned fire with a missile barrage. See cannons have the distinct advantage of being nearly impossible to stop. Even a fast acting CIWS system only has a 10%- chance of deflecting or destroying an incoming HE shell. And nearly no chance of taking out a KE shell. However their opening fire, isn't as large or as accurate as a barrage of missiles. Current naval doctrine for most countries appears to be the strike-first, because we can't defend against the opening barrage. However, we have built ships that can survive that an much more. So we are in a strategic flux. Do we have to return to the notion of large fleets engaging one another? I think not. First-strike will always be the most important part of a naval engagement. However, we must learn how to hit harder. We do have in our arsenal, micro-tactical nukes, with small, single digit kiloton yeilds. Meant to devastate an enemy fleet's most heavy armored ship(s), we have ballistic missiles that are fuel-air munitions, and will set ships ablaze. Aircraft, not shells will still be the primary way to engage an enemy. Missiles, with their accuracy and payload will still be the primary way to engage an enemy fleet."

Mondoth has so far saught to counter this trend in our own navy, developing a fast reaction submarine capable of penetrating a super dreadnaughts submerged defenses and laying mines with the intent to break such ships kels, we have built Arsenal ships capable of firing 800 missiles of just aboutany type you could name including a few fearsome sea skimmers. Additionally, Mondothian fleets are becoming increasingly as immune to artillery fire as most fleets are to missile fire, and even more protected from missiles. The twin Barrier and Mojave class ships are the main tools for this increase in defensive capability, the Barrier follows in the steps of such ships as the aging Aegis class destroyers capable of defending a fleet or port from anything from sea skimmers to intercontinental missiles with a combination of ultra high power radar, anti missile missile batteries and multiple CIWS systems as well as an effective sonar and comprehensive anti submarine suite. The Mojave is still in semi developement, only being used in a few conflicts. where the BArrier has radar, the Mojave uses a comprhensive LIDAR/LADAR array with easily the same capabilities wiht the added advantage of being harder to detect. To complement this detection set up, the Mojave has six chemical-argide high energy laser batteries, using self deforming mirror/lenses to compensate for atmospheric distortion these laser batteries are capable of easily destroying most missiles and all current artillery shells. using the LIDAR/LADAR array and the scanning modes of the laser batteries the system has so far achieved a 75% kill probability in combat tested situations against artillery type attacks.
Besides our Arsenal ships, the Mondothian Navy uses only a small number of lare ships, not even using large carriers in most situations instead using a larger number of smaller, cheaper carriers that actually have increased our combat ability while decreasing combat maintnance and overhead. Also, we have developed a number of submarine vessels to fullfil normal combat roles such as our submersible assault ship and a submersible carrier. Using all of these advantages our third fleet recently held its own agains a much larger force using a more 'conventional' navy and retreated only after disabling and destroying more than 90% of the enemy fleet.
