COPIED TO THE PACIFIC, THE WEST PACIFIC, THE EAST PACIFIC, THE NORTH PACIFIC, THE SOUTH PACIFIC, THE REJECTED REALMS, ACCEL Forum, and JOLT
Report Compiled by Gipper Institute for Reason and Reform in NationStates (GIRRNS).
The Keys to the Kingdom:
Fight for Power in the RR
Recently, there has been an ever facing conflict happening in a region that most would wish never to step foot, The Rejected Realms.
At less than 2000, the region is the largest (Gatesville and Europe roughly combined) region outside of the Pacifics, but still pales in comparison to the main feeders.
It though has found itself a victim of the “democracy bug”, and its longtime delegate, Kandarin, has what appears to be at least a conflict if not a de-throning in process.
The “democracy bug” is when a region that has no political philosophy is pushed towards democracy as seen in the large scale Pacific Underground.
To be fair, there are those, many in circles that are highly thought of by GIRRNS, that openly support a dictator-style government whom (in hopes) will be both benevolent and distant.
The active (intricately involved) and less than benevolent dictators have shown up (usually through “democratic” means), yet this is prefaced by the fact that such high scrutiny of the mods and the whole NS community make outright illegal or suspicious activity very hard to pass off by a RR or Feeder regional delegate.
Moreover in contrarian demeanor, GIRRNS disagrees with the blinded (or more likely biased) democrats and the overly pragmatic autocrats.
Through data, facts, and reason, GIRRNS display three distinct things relating to this foreign matter:
1) The real Rejected Realms and its unique nature.
2) The fact that a “region” needs popular support and some level of democracy.
3) Our Conclusion: Kandarin is the right choice for the RR, he is not the only choice
The “Sinker”
Number of RR Nations Endorsing Kandarin1 : 118
Number of RR Nations Endorsing Drunken Conquerers2 : 84
Number of RR Nations Endorsing Both3 : 61
Only Kandarin4 : 57
Only DC4 : 23
Number of Nations Residing In Rejected Realms: 1,928
As noted earlier, at around 2000 nation, the Rejected Realms stands as a world power of which roughly 30%5 of the nations maintain UN status.
This (with data of recent) maintains around 575 UN nations.
Of these 141 nations endorse either Kandarin or Drunken Conquerers (the current opponent de facto) or both (roughly 25% of UN, 7% of all the region).
For the record, Kandarin has 21% of UN, 6% of whole region.
DC has 15% of UN, 4% of whole region.
Another key number (though unknown) is who actually maintains status as an RR citizen.
It is fair to say a vast majority do not deem themselves citizens (in other words, not actively leaving or never or either once or twice checked in since their forced entrance into the Rejected Realms.)
It is ridiculous of any international voice of reason to claim that all of those within the borders of the Rejected Realms have claim to the time of day let alone anything else.
It is in fact the right of the delegate to decide if anyone has any right other than those allowed by the mods.
This absolute right though, in our humble opinion, should not exist if the delegate supports the realm of nations to become an actual semi or fully united region as with the modern RR.
A Region, Not a Group of Nations
The Pacifics have long held close to that they are a region not just a feeder, and, under Kandarin’s leadership, the Rejected Realms has also held that it to is a region not just a waste filter.
With this, there is no legitimate way to state that the Pacifics or the RR should be devoid of normal regional politics.
Those who push this as the ideal are false in their notions.
A region with such diversity of views as the Rejected Realms needs people involved, it needs a bureaucracy; it needs a somewhat uniting stance.
The RR and the Feeders have done this by creating relatively popular forums and a set up of laws and leaders.
The RR and the Feeders can always remain big, but without some level of participation they will not be a real region, just a group of nations.
For the record, the Rejected Realms has roughly the same percentage of participation on its forums (it has around 200 members while most Pacifics have around 600), and its delegate has a like most long term.
No booting of nations either :)
The simple fact is Kandarin has established a region with great result, it is though (as a founderless region) ultimately up to its citizens and the world.
Conclusion: Most are aware of the word “rejected”; it is simply to be pushed aside. But what does Realm mean? Obviously one definition is domain, but what others are there?
According to Webster.com, the definition is as follows:
Realm
Pronunciation: 'relm
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English realme, from Old French reialme, alteration of reiame, from Latin regimen rule -- more at REGIMEN
1 : KINGDOM 2
2 : SPHERE, DOMAIN <within the realm of possibility>
3 : a primary marine or terrestrial biogeographic division of the earth's surface
Realm thus can mean two things (let’s ignore the last) a domain (in this case of rejected nations) or a kingdom for those not wanted elsewhere.
Kandarin has transformed the Rejected Realms to a Kingdom.
It has flourished (though it can still improve) as a leading defender, diplomat, and UN region.
Without Kandarin, the RR would not be a region.
Baring this in mind along with his support by the largest chunk of real RR citizens, Kandarin has shown and is the right choice for the Rejected Realms until he steps down.
If the RR with or without the world choose to change kings, then there should be no speaking of a democracy.
Democracy is not for the RR only democratic initiatives (currently UN votes are democratic, various positions are given to nations etc.).
These, as a sign to the world, should be stepped up by Kandarin, yet he bares no need to.
The Rejected Realms should only wave the democratic card if it serves its interest in creating more citizens and fewer bystanders.
Drunken Conquerers who was asked by an official of GIRRNS his ways of change (has not responded) is in the opinion of this organization, another monarch.
Despite it being unruly to claim DC would be a worse monarch, it would be fair to note that a good kingdom is a stable kingdom.
DC being endorsed elected would set a precedent that is not in anyone’s interest beyond those who wish to cause harm to the Rejected Realms’ foes.
Thus Kandarin is facing an election not by votes but by force not because the RR is democratic, but because it is a kingdom.
The election is in the end up to the people of RR, and those who wish to fix it either way.
GIRRNS stands with a strong and worthy RR that maintains the excellent leadership of Kandarin.
May wisdom find residence in all involved minds.
