Message to President John Server, Corneliu

Dear John:

It's been quite awhile since you were here over at the Kremlin, so I again extend the invitation to come to Derscon again. There are a few policy things I'd like to discuss, as well as some trade agreements, however. Just to warn you ahead of time!

So, whenever you get the chance, your shuttle is welcome in RAMC.

President Server received the messege and sat back in his chair. Andropov was right regarding him not being at the Kremlin in awhile. On Corneliu Prime, John rarely travels to Earth. This time though, he will.

When he fired off the short messege, he gathered up the rest of the family and they departed aboard the AGECS Millersville It is small enough to be able to fit inside Corneliu Alpha around Earth.

Early the next day, the Millersville jumped out of hyperspace and proceeded towards Corneliu Alpha.

"This is the AGECS Millersville to Corneliu Alpha! We are requesting docking instruction."

This is Corneliu Alpha! You are cleared for docking in Cruiser Bay 1. Follow the beacon that should be guiding you now.

At that moment, the Imperial shuttle launched and proceded to Earth and to Derscon. From the station, 6 fighters launched and escorted the shuttle to its destination.

When the shuttle landed, twelve Honor Guards lined up at the sides of the ramp to get off, and a platinum-clad Honor Guard approached Server -- and towered over him, considering he's a seven foot five alien.

"Welcome to Derscon, President Server," the platinum-clad Honor Guard was saying. "I am the Captain of the Guard, commander of the Honor guards. Please, this way, Mister President." He was very proficient at English -- for an alien.

They walked over to the oversized SUV (modified to be bigger so it would fit the Honor Guards) and the convoy drove up to the gates of the Kremlin Complex, where two armed guards of the Praesillei Dei motioned them through after opening the massive gates. The Honor Guards let Server and his family out and then left as they were escorted by the platinum-clad Honor Guard to the front gate, where Count Franz von Papen was waiting.

"Ah, good afternoon to all of you. Please this way." The Count led them in to the Grand Hall, where the energy platforms moved about in the perfect sphere of the room.

The platform let off at the way to go to the Lounge, and Prince John was standing there waiting.

"Ah, welcome back to the uber-palace, John and family," the Prince said, grinning. "My brother and his wife await. Come! We must not keep them waiting!" The Prince led them back the path into the lounge, and Alexei and Katherine stood up as they entered.

"Ah! Welcome back to Derscon," Alexei said to the Server family. "Please sit. No point in making you stand."

John and Erica took a seat on opposite sides of the kids.

"We thank you for the invitation your majesty." John said. "It is an honor to be back here once again. This is a nice nation and a great setup you have here."

Alexei nodded. "Thank you, Erica. However, the honor is mine. Drink? Don't worry, we have non-alchoholic." After the drinks were passed out, Alexei turned to John Server.

"So? How's Corneliu's government treating you? Your democratic body giving you a hard time?"

Kathy shook the hands of John and Erica and nodded to the kids. "It is also an honor to meet you all."

They know what is at stake and they know that I can end a Congressional Session. Nah, they actually get the nation's business done. THey better or I would do it for them." John stated with a chuckle. "I hadn't had to do that in quite a long time. Hopefully I don't have to do that again."

"I'm not exactly democratically elected. I actually inherited the title President from my father who inhereted it from his father before him. I maybe called President because I am the head of state as well as head of government.

Erica smiled at that. "You wouldn't be able to do everything hun. Someone had to keep things straight for you."

"Ah so you do." John said with smirk on his face.

That made Erica blush but not much.

Kathy had to blush at President Server's remarks.

"Thank you for the compliment President Server. At least someone around here appreciates it." Kathy said mischieviously. "Now only if my work can get appreciated more....."

Erica stiffled a laugh while John just smiled. The kids just looked on with confusion on there faces because they have never seen adults interact like this.

"You're the one that wanted it," Alexei muttred under his breath before taking a sip of the birch beer Derscon was famous for. For some reason, though, I sense that you didn't put up much of a fight, the Prince replied telepathically. Not at all, was Alexei's telepathic response, as both of the brothers suppressed a chuckle.

"Well, John, a couple things actually. First off, how good is your Jedi Acadamy?"

John took a sip of his own drink before answering.

"We have the best jedi academy in the galaxy. Is there someone in particular you want me to take a look at?"

Alexei nodded. "Yes, actually. They are not here right now, however. Reports of children having strange powers are surfacing in the northern regions. If you wouldn't mind, I will have them flown in. Some other reports in the Dark Forest regions, too, as well as one or two here and there in the big cities.

"I can place a call now to have them flown in."

"Yes, actually. Why?"

"Hmm...ah, not important."

Alexei whipsered something to Franz von Papen, and he left, returning five minutes later with a phone.

Alexei: This is Czar Andropov.

Person: Ah, what can I do for you, Your Majesty?

Alexei: Reinhard, the reports of children with strange powers. I want them all
brought to the Kremlin.

Reinhard: Yes, sir. I will be as fast as possible, but as you know, it may take
multiple hours.

Alexei: That is fine, be expedient.

Reinhard: I will begin now. Good day, Your Majesty.

Alexei handed the phone back to Papen and looked at Server. "That was Reinhard Heydrich, Reichsfuerher of the SS. The children should be here in a few hours." He took a sip of his drink while Prince John was deep in thought.

"That'll be fine. I want to be notified when they arrive. I wish you brought this to our attention sooner. Now that we do know, we can get them trained so that they don't bother anyone and that they can be a force for good." John said.

Alexei nodded. "Well, Loire Valley wasn't concerned with it until cases were popping up outside the Tundra areas. You see, the Tundra is known for its ... uh ... strangeness."

Alexei, Alexei, Alexei, Prince John thought. You have much to learn about the Tundra. John carefully shielded his thoughts, however, as he knew Server was a Jedi and could read minds. Sure, Server was a Jedi Master, but Prince John was more powerful than anyone who restricted himself to Jedi teachings could ever be.

"Indeed," Prince John added. "Many beings of questionable origin settle there. Magic - users, Wiccans, Druids..." Sith, he didn't add.

"You're the one that wanted it," Alexei muttred under his breath before taking a sip of the birch beer Derscon was famous for.

Kathy somehow heard the comment and playfully slapped Alexei.

Alexei stared at Katherine before he pinned her to the couch and started tickling her. Prince John chuckled.

"Ah, young couples. Well, John," he said to Server. "I suppose they're probably here by now." He motioned to a SPG.

"Go out and look to see if the children have arrived." When the SPG motioned to Alexei, John shrugged it off.

"At the moment, Alexei's only threat is Katherine, and he's effectively pinned that down for the moment." The one SPG nodded and left to go outside. Ten minutes later, he returned with about thirty children.

"Thank you, you may take your posts back guarding the tickle-happy couple," the Prince said. He could identify immediately the ones who came from the Tundra -- they were the ones who were sweating from the heat.

"There you are, John," he said, taking his seat.

President Server looked over the kids. He then opened himself up to the force to better gauge their reaction.

Some of them seemed frightened and he actually can understand why.

"Greetings. I am Jedi Master and President John Server of Corneliu. There is nothing to be afraid of. I am here to take you to a place where you can be properly trained to use the gifts that God has given you."

Alexei finally let go of Katherine as the kids came in. He regained full composture while Katherine was still laying on the couch.

The children from the tundra were not frightened -- they were curious. Strange things were common in the tundra; however, palaces were not. The other children, simply for the matter of being young and in an unfamiliar environment, did look frightened. Some of them recognized Alexei and Katherine and bowed their heads in respect, which Alexei acknowledged with a nod and a smile. Katherine was still incapacitated at the moment, however, recovering slowing from her tickling.

Kathy was doing her best to defend herself from the tickling that Alexei was giving her. Before long though, the kids showed up which gave Kathy the breather she needed. She laid there for a minute or two and sat up. She then bowed her head to those that bowed/curtsied.

She looked at all of them. "welcome to the palace" she said with a smile. "If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask."

Prince John was scanning the children, as President Server was. That one he thought, looking at the one child. Will be strong. He continued scanning the crowd, and picked another one out. There is much fear in that one, he thought. Much hatred.

"So, John," the Prince said, turning to Server. "What do you think?"

"They look to be in excellent health as well as strong in the force." Server replied.

John nodded. "Indeed they all are. I sense some...fluxuations...in some of them, however. I can tell you right now, only a few will make it through the acadamy. Can you feel it also?" It was a very subtle thing, the Prince noticed. He was testing Server's strength in detection, at the moment.

"Some also seem to be strong in the dark side of the Force," the Prince noted. And I can pinpoint them right now, he thought. The children looked on in either fear or curiosity as the Jedi Master and the Prince analyzed them. One of the children had much courage, though.

"Your Majesty," the young child said. "For being not only a Prince, but a preacher, how are you so in tune with the Force?" The Prince just smiled.

"Well, when one isolates himself to study the Lord and his Creation, one tends to stumble across things, and curiosity got the better of me."

"So," the child continued. "You are a Jedi."

"Of sorts."

"That's because some of them are scared. That can and will be overcome." Server replied. Server opened himself up to the force and felt an even darker presence than he had before. He looked around the room on his guard.

He then turned to the kids. "You are about to embark on a new life. A life of fulfillment and a life to better the lives of our fellow human beings."

"Indeed," the Prince continued. "The life of a Jedi is one of sacrifice. It is not an easy life to live for the normal person, but you aren't exactly normal, are you? No, you have been blessed with an extrordinary gift that you have the choice to use for good...or for evil.

"To train to be a Jedi is a very long and harsh process. You will go through many trials and tribulations, and some of you will fail. However, for those who do complete their training, you will be taken under the wing of a Jedi Master as a padawan, and you will learn to specialize in an art -- be it weapons fighting, force, etc. Obviously, to pass the Acadamy, you must be proficient in everything, but as you become older, you will learn to specialize.

"However, along the road, you will face many decisions that can change your own fate and the fate of those around you. You will eventually be tempted with promises of power, prestige, and strength. These desires lead you to the dark side. A lust for power will bring about your fall.

"As you go through your training, choose your path wisely. Only you can choose your own fate. Remember that."

The children were starting to ease up a little. THe outspoken one listened intently, taking in every word.

His name was Xavier Daryakanov, born in the Tundra regions as an illigitimate child to an unknown father and a sorcerer mother. At five years old, he was clearly the most in-tune with the force out of the group. Very powerful, he was, indeed. However, his mind was clouded with doubt, fear, and pride. He would go far, but first his mind needed to be cleared.

The other children were also listening intently. Not as much as young Xavier was, but close. They were all clearly interested.

Another one as devoted to the story as Xavier was was another five year old from the Tundra -- Konstantin Andropov. Coming from a devout Orthodox family, her father tried to get him exorsised after he demonstrated strange abilities. The priest, who, strangely, visited Xavier a few weeks earlier, and was close friends with a Jedi Knight, instantly recognized it for what it was and explained it to the parents. The mother was worried, but the father was clearly happy. So, his father asked the priest to contact the local SS division to see if there were places to train him, and here he is.

Konstantin, also, was a very powerful child. Not nearly as much as the young Xavier was, but he made up for it in a clear mind centred on God.

Two very different children attending the same acadamy with twenty-eight others. Some will not make it past the training, some will fail at the hands of their Jedi Master. Those that succeed will go on to greatness, be it taking a seat on the Jedi Council, establishing their own acadamy, defending the forces of good....

Or travelling the Dark Side towards infinite power.

Alexei nodded in response. "Okay, that's good. I'm glad we can work that out." He stood up and had the kids dismissed to their temporary housing in RAMC, and turned to Server.

"Well, I'm glad you could come, but it looks like our business here is complete. I suppose we'll be getting in touch with each other then, no?"

"Well I do have a few extra days I can spend. I already told my secretary to call for a ship to take these people to the academy. So.... you could always show me around this puptent of a city here if ya like. After all, this is technically an official visit."
