OOC: Follow up to this thing: The Siege of Iatoni ( http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=328895)

Khrishtian Holocaust Memorial, New Zion, Abu-Dhabi Khristatata
"…and this, ladies and gentlemen, is how we know of this disaster. As you see, even if no elaborate distress calls are sent out, every planet with developed sentient life on it sends out broadcasts - the regular stuff, TV, radio, and so forth. Of course it is not necessarily intended to be broadcast. This particular exhibit is a Iatoni Daily News Live screenshot concerning the initial attack. Note that the main ship, the death cloud, is surrounded by typical Necron vessels. Only one nation - only one major nation - used those at the time."
The Khristian guide paused for a moment, letting the implication sink in before he voiced it:
"The Eternal Necrontyr Empire of the Ctan."
The visitors at the memorial exposition shuddered as they looked at the image of the enormous fleet that struck Iatoni at the time, leaving no life. Those people had no mercy. They had no nobility. They had no kindness. And yet this nation claimed to be one of the benign powers of Sol.
Allanean, Khristian, Imperial citizens visiting the memorial clenched their fists in horror and hatred towards those who committed that genocide. Indeed, the words of the memorial would be true. They would always remember. They would never forgive.
And then one of them - an Allanean Stellar Navy officer, by the looks of his parade dress uniform - reached for his cellphone. An awkward silence fell in the room - who would use a cellphone in a memorial? - and the officer blinked as he listened to the call. Then he grabbed the guide’s hand.
"I need to speak to whoever is in charge of the memorial. And I need to do it now."
Iatoni Orbit
A small Hughey MK I patrol craft hung motionlessly in space - as motionlessly as you can, observing in amazement the surface of the inhabited world. Yes, there was a war there, once - and craters could still be seen on the surface. But the oppressive - about 90% - majority of the population seemed to be untouched.
It seemed unbelievable.
But it was true.
Iatoni lived.
