The Return to Terra

Abu-Dhabi Khristatata

It had been difficult to get to Earth from Mars for President Peter Ikatori. It had been difficult to aquire land in Haven... At this time they were acutlaly rather similiar, both gripped by chaotic war.

Peter hoped for a more bright future though. Khristiandom was now based on a triple anchor of Earth, Mars, and a moon in the GEC-42 system. From there Abu-Dhabi Khristatata would be rebuilt. With many reforms of course.

The ideals of the surviving Martian Khristians, Ikatorists if you will, were opposite that of the old ADK regime, or Izumists. Some Izumist policy would be needed to get the nation on its feet though and to preserve it. It could very well require some shady dealings with some unscrupolous nations, but it would all work out...

Right now he needed to build himself a city. He needed to move people and purchase material. They had some shelters though, and a little money.... They could manage until the Allaneans could help.

Pinnacle Terrace, Seat of the Terran Government
Tellerus, Capital of the Republic of Ancient Terra

Emperor Kamiya stood in front of a podium, on the steps of the immense Pinnacle Terrace. A 300-story government building, the massive spire rose behind him like a beam of gleaming, black light.

"To my dear Terrans, to our allies in Haven, and now to our newest neighbors, the Khristians: I bid you good evening!" He paused for a second, looking down at his notes. "It is my pleasure to welcome the Khristians to the great region of Haven, and it is my hope that they will find happiness in their new home. Many nations share bad memories of this people, and it saddens me to know that the Khristians are being judged on the past actions of a previous regime."

He paused again. "From what I can see, these people share completely different goals. It has always been Terra's goal to foster strong relationships with the international community, and to eliminate suffering worldwide. We wish it never to be said that Terra bears a grudge against any nation. I wish to meet someday with President Peter Ikatori, the leader of the Khristians. The process of nation building is time-consuming and strenuous in the best of circumstances, and for the Khristians it will be exceptionally difficult. To this end, President Ikatori, the Republic of Terra pledges to provide 100 billion dollars in aid over a 12 month period to your people, and in addition undertakes to make 3 Terran Military Engineer Battalions available for your sole use for as long as you see fit. We wish you luck in starting a new nation in Haven, and hope our relationship is amicable and prosperous."
Allanea

The Allaneans heard of the plight of the Khristians, and they did whatever few they could to help. Donations were sent from all over the country, even despite the rampant poverty caused by the war. Money and weapons were sent. In fact, the National Rifle Association set up a shipment of surplus army rifles - one for every Martian Khristian that stepped off a plane in New Zion.

From the Allanean Department of States, a generous donation of two hundred billion Allanean Dollars was made for the building on New Zion - not nearly enough, but Allanea could not afford more at the moment. Letters were written to Allanea’s allies - to ask for any help that could possibly be given.

And from the state of Zara-Khrista, a new breed of Khristians came - those who lived in Allanea for years. They combined the belief in libertarian and conservative internal policies - with a semi worship of the late Izumi and his foreign policy. Such was the strange result of the public schools established by the Zara-Khristan state legislature. But those people had the love for Abu-Dhabi and the hate for her enemies necessary for her to prosper -and they came by the hundreds of thousands, armed with rifles and shovels, like the settlers who created Allanea centuries ago.

A new day was starting.

A better day.

"The Khristian people are deeply grateful for your gifts and we will use them to the best of our ability to build a stable and peaceful nation. We are in debt to you and if there's a way that we can repay you, name it."

"A small piece of land n Abu-Dhabi Krishtatata, from which we wuodl be able to deploy forces to the area, would be wonderful - both for us and for you. We intend to use this to honor our obligations to your long-suffering people".

"Of course, there has been a long and mutually benefical relationship between the Allanean and Khristian peoples...

Will this land do?(See attachment)"

It had taken a few days to construct, but now there were wooden homes for the 100 or so settlers of the city of Neo Zion(itikiri). The Allanean enineers had brought in some bricks and iron with them which provided a nice frame for many of the houses and a fireplace or two. More supplies would hopefully be coming in from Allanea, but it was hard to tell with the war ragining in Haven.

Work was beginning on a Town Hall and a church. Beautiful pine and decidous forests bordered the town. Soon more settlers would come from Mars and already thousands of Khristian immigrants that had lived in Allanea were coming to the new nation.

The scene was much the same 3000 miles to the south where the other ship had landed... There wasn't yet need for a capitol buiulding, nor was there resources for one. Only a few thousand dollars had been spent by the new government... It wasn't very sure where to look for resources.

"The Interplanetary Space Empire extends its best wishes to the people of Abu-Dhabi Khristatata. May your new land bring peace, prosperity and freedom to your people.

"To your people, we dispatch gifts of humanitarian aid to fuel the development of your new land. A contribution of six-point-seven trillion credits shall be wired. Four hundred thousand volunteers and workers, with the assistance of one hundred thousand Hammerian National Guard members, shall be dispatched to your people at your whim to assist in construction efforts.

"We hope and pray for peace, prosperity and freedom, not only for our citizens and yours, but for all life in this universe. Best of wishes, and godspeed."

The single message, relayed from an orbiting Hammerian Super Destroyer, terminated, and the everyday chatter of space traffic communications resumed to echo throughout the bridge. Vice Admiral Moroder, acting CO of the Emmanuel, ordered the all-clear and ordered Nav to prepare the Emmanuel to traverse cascading hyperfold space.

"The Khristian Free State is extremely grateful for the Foe Hammerian donation. This money can be used to save a lot of lives on Mars and elsewhere. Thank you."

~ President Peter Ikatori

Two other ships had landed, one in the new city of Hamiki, and the other in Zorqiri. Many of those same houses were being built there, although Hamiki was near the Foe Hammerian border and received many of the workers before they would move throughout the region.

Allanean Arms had recieved a contrat to build roads throughout the nation while tons of materials came in on ships and planes from Allanea. Marble, iron, farming implements, and industrial components all came in.

Work on the Capitol began in Neo Zion as farmers plowed their land and began building pens for animals. Livestock were also shipped in... A nation couldn't sustain itself without a firm agricultural sector.

Out of the 6.7 trillion dollars given to the new nation, only a few million had been used... But if more refugees were going to come in from Mars, spaceports and spaceships would need to be built...

It had been a couple of months, but it was going to take several years...

Through the Western Straight, ships came. The cease-fire in the Fifth Edolian War has allowed the Allaneans to send several cargo ships full of construction equipment. Already, Allanean Arms, Inc, has been paid by the Allanean government to build highways and roads throughout Abu-Dhabi Khristatata. In the Allanean base, runways and Titan cannon emplacements were being built to protect New Zion - with Khristian workers working on the construction, jobs and money being thus provided to the new economy. In New Zion itself an impressive obsidian and black marble construct was being built by the Allaneans, it’s purpose yet unknown.

Allanea has not yet completed scuttling the star ships she was supposed to scuttle under the Treaty of the wolf. Thus, Congress decided to turn over to the Khristians ten Bulwark-II class carrier/cruisers and the materiel needed to support them, free of charge. Several former USSN officers gladly went to help instruct the Khristians in the use of the vessels.

Of course a spaceport would be built - and Allanean Arms, Inc., offered to build it.

Allanean ARms would take the contract if no one else offered it. While the Khristians liked the Allaneans, it was best to diversify. The ships would arrive as soon as the spaceport was built, then the real work could begin.

Thousands upon thousands of Khriostians could be brought in from war-torn Qaaol-Khrista. Neo Zion would also send back medical supplies and food to Qaaol-Khrista. Depeding on the metals in Neo Zion, the stations around Dream could finally be construted. Scientific research could be conducted on Dream and Khristian expansion into space would be assured.

Things were going well, soon the little nation(When in realty it was several hundred years old and occupied most likely a million square km of land or more) would be ready to establish embassies in the surronding country, or vice versa.
Kanuckistan

It took some time for word to reach the people of Kanuckistan, but at the request of their Allanean allies, it came. And when it did, as Kanuckistani were want to do, it was not lacking.

At first a trickle; small contractors inquioring upon jobs local industry was not yet up to bidding on, taking cotracts then for little more than token fees - making the maximum use of local labor, training the unskilled.

Larger companies followed, their bids more.. sane, for the most part, but otherwise contuning the trend; training locals, encouraging local industry, introducing new technologies, techniques, and materials - cheif amoungst them NES, or Nuclear-force Enhanced Silver; the most common varrient worth some fifty times it's weight in common carbon-steel for strength and durability, yet, at fourty cents a kilo, no more expensive. Several firms also looking at setting up shop in the young nation, creating perminate jobs.

And Allanean Arms would indeed find competing bids for the spaceport; the Kanuckistani High Gaurd's own favored contractor, Uniphase Armouries Interversal, submitting extavigant plans for massive, sprawling facilities, of exquisit architecture, lavish gardens and fountains, with optional defencive emplacments and theatre shields of impressive power - all, for a single universal standard dollar; $1 USD... and criticisms and revisions to the offered plans most welcome.

All while merchants, traders, importers and exporters, all on the Kanuckistani government's dime, investigated the reborn nation's emerging industries in light of offered tax breaks at home.

And as with all devout peoples, their religion followed the Kanuckistani; careful, especially at first, not to offend local belifes - atleast, not until they got the measure of local tollerance to such things - it was little seen and unspoken of in public, unless asked. But regaurdless, details would emerge; of countless sects of varried belife, miraculous healing, and even reincatnation of murdered innocents - of places where one's deceased loved-ones could could walk the earth as if alive, so long as they shared the Temple's oddly diverse yet unified faith.

Stranger still, prehaps, were the people themselves; of countless races, few hunam but most hunamoid; universally healthy, free of handicap, some centuries old - many cyberneticly augmented, but few whom you could tell by mere apearance. Of a rampantly promiscuous culture, utterly restrained while abroad around those not so open. Of a people utterly confident in their abilities and rights and privlages, yet seemingly absolute in their tollerance of forgine peoples, alternative culture and values. And amoung whom, shockingly, changing genders, even species, was not only possible and accepted, but moderatly common, if somewhat expensive.

The Spaceport construction would go to Kanuckistan, hopefully they could build a long-lasting structure in a short amount of time. Ships needed to be moving aid to Mars and people from it.

And suitibly, the people assigned to the job recognised the needs of their clients; within three days, the assign location had been leveled, striped to bedrock - the hole filled with flash-fused layers of inter-bonded and reinforced polycrete.

Of course, they had the uncommon advantage of specialised starships, recently refurbished; sitting in vacume sense the mass relocations of Kanuckistan's own, volentary, exodus from Earth, centuries ago, for which they'd been designed.

From there, meters-deep and immensly strong 'tarmac' established, temporary facilities could and were easily erected; it would take nearly an IC year for the finishing touches to be placed upon the starport-proper - atleast six months befor it could take over operations - but in less than a week, temporary facilities were complete, ready to handle the load until their perminate replacment was ready to take over.

It would take longer to locate apropriate locals to fill the needed roles - longer still until new personel could be trained for those roles otherwise unfillible by locals - but until then, UAI's own people would fill them.

The ships left, crewed by only a few dozen Khristians the ships began sending down supplies and bringing back people. Many of them would be traiend to operate the ships and keep them in order for subsequent trips, the rest would go to help the growing Province of Neo Zionitikiri.
