The Imperator of New Haven sat in front of a TV camera as he began his address to those who were now being asked to leave.
"Countrymen, friends, citizens: Today we shall embark upon the Great Exodus. Our presence in Haven is no longer desired, so we shall say our goodbyes and set off for our new Homeworld. I understand that 65 million people were the only ones left behind on Earth during our push into the stars, and all 65 million will be evacuated within a period of two years. New housing awaits you all on New Haven, Asherton, Stanley and Baltic Major. The climate is warm, like our old home, the oceans vast and unexplored. There will be no neighbors for which to dictate to us how we shall conduct ourselves. Only our worlds and the vast gulf between them. Ad Astra Per Aspera!"
With that, 5 Armed Traders look off from Freeport, each carrying three million people in its hold. Others used the Pedestrian Hyperspace Gates to head off to worlds of their choice. Industry and infrastructure that could be torn up and relocated was, the rest would be destroyed. As the last of the people left through the hyperspace gate, the gate was powered down and placed into the hold of a cargo ship, carried off with the rest of the remaining infrastructure.
In a year, the population had been relocated. The major cities on the colonized worlds grew massively, but had the room to spare. Those that had no place to go were sent to Far Haven for a short time, where temporary housing and supplies were set up.
New Haven had finally left the cradle of Earth and had entered the interstellar arena.
