Author's intro: I figured this would be a better way to get the nation restarted, considering how well the last attempt went over. Feel free to leave the occasional comment.
Chapter 1: Mission Assignments
Rehlisa walked onto the bridge, smiling at the stars before them. Being one of those assigned to Navigation, it was her job to make sure they survived any trips they made while it was her shift. She bent down over her console and pushed a couple of keys, the current course the ship was on and the planned course both appearing on the screen. So far, the two were a perfect match, which was as she expected. She wasn't about to make a mistake now, since the ship was on its way to Ebarah.
The ship was the Mehrlis, an Interplanetary Scout of DemonLordEnigma. The ship itself was one of the newer ones in service, a replacement built within the last few years for one lost in an asteroid belt. Still, while the ship had proven to be a good home away from home, planets and long vacations were preferred. Besides, this ship had just been resupplied after a long mission and was on its way to have its crew changed out, with the current crew slated to be moved to a Gahro Gunship.
Suddenly a blue light started blinking on Kahlis's console. Curious, the pilot pushed it, the communication that had been sent fading into view. As his eyes flew over the D'ni symbols, his face slowly lost the jovial manner it had until all that was left was a grimness. Then, he punched a couple of buttons, routing the communication to Rehlisa's station.
Rehlisa looked at the screen, wondering why it was only a flight plan with a symbol denoting the rest would decode when they reached their destination. This was not how they usually recieved their orders, and such orders were only issued in cases where the mission was one best kept classified. Then she looked at the destination.
"The Fehreh Zone? This can't be right. That region was banned for travel because of spacial instabilities. Why would we be headed there?" Rehlisa asked.
"I do not know. That is simply what the orders say. We can talk it over with the crew while in route," Kahlis said.
Rehlisa nodded as she entered the commands to change the ship's course.
