The Resurgent Dream

Katei Washington smoothed her long, black skirt idly and brushed her long black hair back behind her ears. She was en route to Aelosia, to stay with a host family as part of the student exchange program. She wondered what her host parents and school would be like. She knew that they'd probably be overwhelmingly Elven, which was certainly interesting. Katei had never been in a racially homogenous society before and being someone of a different race living among a racially homogenous society would be even more challenging. Of course, it was a challenge she was more than prepared for. That was why she had volunteered for the program, after all.
Arriving, Katei stepped off the platform. The girl, rather short even for a human of her age, definitely seemed rather tiny among the much taller Elves. She looked around curiously, taking in her environment and looking for any sign of her host family who were presumably here to pick her up. She smiled a little, happy to be in this beautiful country for the next several months of her life.
