In the eastern part of the galaxy known to humans as Milky Way, Vintergatan, la Voie lactée and many other strange and somewhat bizarre names, there is a medium sized star, with nine planes orbiting it. The thrid planet is a small but heavy orb, whose surface is mostly covered with water, giving it a blue appearance when viewed from space. The atmosphere consists mainly of oxygen, though a thin layer of ozone protects from he radiation of the sun. It holds many different lifeforms, but only one dominat specie, a large bipedal race known as... Lions. Since prehistoric ages they have dominated this planet, this very solar system, and when they where ready they sent their warriors into space, conquering nearby systems. They fought the Hawkmen of Keeraaa, vanquished the Lizards of Sthiss and established the Holy Empire. But alas, after a thousand years the great empire fell, the gods were slain and the lions created the nation of Relative Liberty, taking the name from an ancient empire. A young man named Garithos, supposedly related to the mythical Garithos who first led the lions away from the Great Plains to the east and to the tropical isles of the equator.
The Empire was shattered by internal strife, torn apart by egoistic warlords who sought to claim land of their own and destroy democracy once and for all. Garithos pleaded the Senate to give him emergency powers and extend his period of office. The Senate granted him this wish and Garithos led the Spacefleet in battle, vanquishing the petty warlords and restoring peace to the empire. During this time the flaws of democracy became clear and the Senate voted for dismantling itself. A Dictator would be chosen every tenth year by election, he would rule unquestioned by all but the Council, a group of unselfish senators who would control the newly formed Diplomatic Corps as well as watch over the Dictator and terminating him if they considered it best for the people.
Democracy have had many enemies since that time, but none was greater than the current. A few months ago Dictator Garithos approved the production of supersoldiers, genemodified soldiers fed with propaganda, growing up in growth accelerating vats and being taught to kill at an early age. During the first field exercise the two hundred soldiers betrayed their creatos and slaughtered the soldiers of the 1st Marine Regiment. They hijacked a nuclear submarine and destroyed the city of Garithos, claiming well over five million lives. Their leader, known only as Dictator, established himself as ruler and purged the land of the loyalists.
With his strong hand guiding them, the people of Relative Liberty has now revealed themselves to the other empires of Space, thus breaking the tradition of isolation that has ruled them ever since the days of the Senate.

Liberty One, the Imperial Palace:
''Send this message on all freqencies for ten weeks. There must be other nations out there, others that have not yet been conquered.'' said the Dictator, his voice echoing like thunder between the four walls of the Throne Room.
''Yes sir, at once sir.'' replied the slave.

Greetings fellow inhabitans of the Galaxy, I am Dictator and ruler of the nation known as Relative Liberty. I wish to breake the tradition of isolationalistic rule that my predecessors have so foolishly followed and wish to make contact with all those who live in the glorious Galaxy.

The transmission was received at the Lagpunkt and looked over by the Engineers who puzzled over the open transmission and after some time and a deal that extracted painful concessions the Engineers handed the message over to the Messengers Guild who finally translated it and brought it before The Autarch.

Othello, Messenger of The Autarch brought the missive before The Autarch's Throne.

The Autarch scanned it's contents and nodded stiffly "Respond to this message Othello, offer our, friendship. Have an Ambassador prepared. We will evaluate these beings and see what use may be extracted from them." The Autarch's rolling voice came from everywhere at once

Othello bowed low and replied in staticy tones "As The Autarch...... wishes, so shall it be......... done."

Othello then left and sent a reply to Relative Liberty.

The message was sent, Othello waited as The Autarch consulted with his Varangian Guard.

You will be greeted by a small escort which will take you to the Liberty station orbiting Liberty One.

Othello of the Messengers Guild dispatched asingle 'Tasker' Transport, guarded by only a couple Thilite Marines. Aboard was Ambassador XD.

The Ambassador's ship proceeded to the co-ordinates given by Relative Liberty and awaited the arrival of the escorts. The Tasker transport was practically unarmed and had even fewer sensors than weapons. It would not appear to be any sort of threat.

A Juvenile class frigate (see factbook) emerged out of hyperspace, leaving no visible sign of the journey to the naked eye, but sensors would detect the tube-like extension of reality that was the trademark of Libertarian hyperspace generators.
The captain, bridge sergeant Long-Claw, ordered the HailSys's video transmission to be turned on and positioned himslef in front of the Transmitter/Reciever. He looked at the mirror image formed on the black screen, a thirty year old lion, clad in the black uniform of the Spacefleet, the grey belt and hat, the black leather boots that shone reflected the light from the overhead lamps, the golden stripe on his shoulder that identified him as a bridge sergeant of the Libertarian Spacefleet. He was a worthy representant for the time being.
''Greetings, I am Long-Claw, captain on the USSRLSF Intrepid. I will escort you to the Garithos station where you will be greeted by a member of the Diplomatic Corps.''

Ambassador XD had indeed noticed the method of transport and had heavily scanned the ship as it came within range, the data being transmitted directly to The Autarch's Lagpunkt for analysis by the Guild of Engineers and threat assessement by the Varangian Guard.

Long-Claw was greeted by Ambassador XD, whom upon visual inspection, appeared to be an android.

Ambassador XD bowed 'her' head gracefully to Long-Claw's greeting and replied in smooth even tones "I thank you. My ship is prepared to follow your lead."

''We do not have any reports of piracy or rebels in this area,but we would prefer if you stick close to our right wing while we escort you.'' said the captain while ordering his crewmen to set the course for Liberty station.
The station was a long tube orbiting Liberty One. It was the largest port in Relative Liberty and the homebase of the Spacefleet. More than a thousand vessels passed through it every day, delivering passagers and goods from the other planets to the capital.
A young lion stepped forward as the meeting commitee arrived in the Docking Bay 27. He was dressed in the traditional uniform of the Diplomatic Corps, gray uniform, black belt, gray hat and black boots.
''I greet you, on behalf of the Dictator of Relative Liberty, fellow diplomat. If you wish to rest before the negotiations we would be happy to provide you with a room.

The Ambassador's ship followed the escort as instructed and docked where instructed. Ambassador XD taking everything in as they went, processing and feeding information directly back to Arisse.

The Amabssador exited the ship once it was docked and bowed gracefully (if not artifically) before the young lion that presented himself "I do not require rest and I am prepared to begin negotiations at any time that is suitable for the Dictator or his representative."

Ambassador XD appeared to have been built by a race that had little idea of the workings of humanoids. Despite her resemblance to a humanoid, her movements merely mocked what would be considered natural. Her lips moved , but her voice came from her chest, her movements were exceptionally fluid, but unnatural and her voice while soothing and even, seemed modulated artifically. Her translucent blue shin and black wires for 'hair' only added to the artificial quality.

''Then I will escort you to the room we have been granted for this occasion.'' said the lion, noticing that something wasn't right about his foreign counterpart. Though she may have been a previously unknown specie, she smelled artificial and her voice seemed cold and metallic.

The room was rather large, with a round table in the middle, flanked by two chairs. Everything was painted white, except a few details which were ptchblack adding some contrast.

Ambassador XD nodded politely and followed the lion to the conference room where she seated herself and waited.

Ambassador XD hardly looked around the room and seemed uninterested in her surroundings. Her internal scanners and sensors took all that in without her having to take any action, she passively scanned and recorded everything, including the physiological details of hosts and their anatomy.

It would certainly be noticeable, for anyone that was actually scanning to see if she was scanning........................

OOC: Well, I left II so this RL would be an entirely different nation, which by chance happens to be identical to the II version. Besides, I look forward to rp meeting your nation, if I remeber it right we never got to that part since the thread died.

The scoutship, Minoral, happened to pick up the transmission from the nation of Relative Liberty.

The Minoral arrived at the co-ordiantes and waited for the arrival of the escorts. While Terk waited, he played a game of N-D chess with Mino.

''Well,'' said the young lion, not quite used to speaking to droids,''We wish to discuss the chances for us to establish diplomatic relations between our two nations, this would be symbolized by the creation of embassys and maybe a trade agreement if such a thing would be deemed mutualy beneficial.''



Ambassador XD nodded and 'smiled' " I am empowered to establish an Embassy if your Dictator so permits. The Autarch would also be pleased to receive your Ambassador. The Commonwealth currently has only one trade law, and that is that all trade be done through the Guild of Merchants.

Your businesses and industries would be free to approach the Guild of Merchants to facilitate trade franchises within the Commonwealth, The Autarch does not involve himself in such things, so long as such dealings are amicable and do not require intervention."

Ambassador XD paused and regarded the lion " I do not see anything specifically that would hinder relations."

Meanwhile back at the Lagpunkt on Neron, Vodalus the Dragon, General of the Varangian Guard looked over the data streaming in from Ambassador XD as well as co-ordinates of her current location.

"What is the threat level of these new aliens?" He asked of the Engineer in command.

It replied in a staticy voice "They appear to be.............more physically robust than the.........typical Thilite. Their technology is..........still being assessed, I would cautiously rate...............them as a moderate threat."

Vodalus nodded and looked over the star chart "They are fairly distant as well."

The Engineer replied "Their.............drives, appear capable of hyperspace travel, as.......................detected when their escort for the Ambassador........arrived."

Vodalus grinned and returned to his seat, exhaling a vapour of plasma " Let's see what more we can learn."

''I have authority to order the construction of embassys, it is unnecessary to disturb the Dictator this matter. Our representents will arrive in a small shuttle with a frigate as escort.
Also, how do we contact this Guild to discuss a trade agreement?''

Elsewhere:
The frigate dropped out of hyperspace a few kilometres from the delegation from Theao. It was the USSRLSF Intrepid again, and bridge sergeant Long-Claw sighed. If he was sent to greet every delegation he would certainly ask for a few days off.

''I am Long-Claw, commander of the USSRLSF Intrepid. I will escort you to the station where you will be greeted by a member of the Diplomatic Corps. Please stay close as we would be unable to protect you otherwise.''

Ambassador XD 'smiled' again "They have been contacted. A delegation from the Guild of Merchants can arrive here shortly if you so desire. You may also have your Ambassador and Staff go to the location where my transport was met. When they arrive they will greeted by a member of the Guild of Pilots who can guide them to Arisse.

I hope that this is satisfactory?"

''It is, I will give the order at once.'' he answered and pressed a small button on the white table. An interface appeared and the lion sent a messaage to the Pilot Barracks that they should have a pilot ready in ten minuits, he also told the hangar engineers to have an EMU ready for flight ASAP.

"While do." The Minoral transmitted while getting checked by Terk. The ship followed the escort.

The ships arrived in Docking Bay 26 and a officer of the Diplomatic Corps was sent to greet them. The lion bowed as the Theaon representent stepped out of the ship.
''I am colonel White-Fang of the Libertarian Diplomatic Corps.''

"Greetings, my name is Terk Lito. It is a pleasure to meet you." Terk said as he extended his hand.

The lion extended his paw hand shook the hand of his Theao counterpart.
''I you need to rest we will provide you with lodgins as long as you require, once you feel ready to begin negotiations meet me in Room 327.''

"Then shall we go to Room 327?" Terk asked

''Very well.'' said the lion, leading the way out of the hangar bay and down the corridor. After a few hundred metres he turned left and continued down another corridor, which eventually lead to Room 327. It was a small rectangular room painted white with a few black details. In the middle stood a round white table flanked by two white chairs.
''Have a seat.'' White-Fang said, sitting down in the chair at the end of the room.

Terk took a seat and waited for his host to start.

''We want to establish embassies to further ease diplomatic relations with your country. We would also like to sign a mutual aid agreement that would aid us both should other nations threaten any of our borders.''

"An embassy exchange would be welcome, thougth a mutual aid agreement may be one-sided as we do not have a border persay." Terk replied

''You do not have a border?'' the diplomat asked curiously.
''Anyway, we are most pleased that you have agreed to exchange embassies. Your representents are welcome to this station whenever they want.''

No we don't, primarily because our nation doesn't have any non-mobile territory or land." Terk replied. "A representative should arrive within a week."

''Don't tell me you're another confederation of hitchikers!?'' the diplomat said. he had read of one of RLs encounters with such a confederacy, that was during the days of the Empire, they had been forced to gather the entire confederacy to discuss anything, no matter how trivial. It had taken so much fuel to shuttle them to and fro that the price for engine fuel had risen to over a million equality dollars per gallon and half the fleet had been taken out of service.

"No, we are a nation that lives on a worldship." Terk replied

Ambassador XD nodded " I will alert the Guild of Merchants, and make sure that a member of the Guild of Pilots is ready to rendezvous with your Ambassador."

She paused and moved held her arm in front of her, the forearm opened up revealing a series of keys and buttons, she pressed a read, diamond shaped button and it began to blink, there was a palpable surge of energy, the station and ships in the area would most certainly be able to sense the powerful sub-space beacon."

She then turned and looked over her shoulder " Iago, of the Guild of Merchants."

As she spoke there was a flash in the room and standing in the place where she had turned are three figures, al are heavily armoured and dressed in metallic looking robes. The central figure wears a carved mask that is meant to look human the other two simplt have helmets, with no eye-holes or openings of any kind. They may be armed , but their cloaks make it hard to tell.

The central figure steps forward and speaks in a halting buzzing voice "I am Iago......of the Guild of Merchants. The Ambassador has indicated that you wish to initiate trade with........the Commonwealth? I can facilitate this."

"No, we are a nation that lives on a worldship." Terk replied''Then it's OK I guess. We will prepare an embassy for your delegates at once.''

"So what is your nation like, it's sort of odd, your name that is, as we've meet a nation with the same name, thought they appear to have disappeared." Terk asked

''Yes.'' the diplomat replied, clearly shaken by the fact that someone had teleported through the shields.
''We are wish to trade for beryllium and high temperature alloys as well as trading priviliges. In exchange we can give you small arms, cobolt, gold and diamonds.''

"So what is your nation like, it's sort of odd, your name that is, as we've meet a nation with the same name, thought they appear to have disappeared." Terk asked
''The United Socialist States of Relative Liberty consists of no more than three permantly inhabted planets, though six systems are under our control. All three inhabited planets lies within Liberty Alpha, the system were are currently in. The capital planet, which you can see through the window over there, is called Liberty One as it was the first one settled by lions. The others are called Liberty Two and Three and are much closer to the sun.
We have not heard of another nation with our name but theere is a chance, although very small, that two nations have developed independent of each other and still have reached the same point of existance, with an infinite universe it is bound to happen sometime.''

''Yes.'' the diplomat replied, clearly shaken by the fact that someone had teleported through the shields.
''We are wish to trade for beryllium and high temperature alloys as well as trading priviliges. In exchange we can give you small arms, cobolt, gold and diamonds.''

Ambassador XD was pleased that the Lion appeared shaken and dutifully recorded it, While a Navigator could only transport himself and maybe two to three other persons in this manner, the lion had no need to know this.

It is an alloy that........is impervious to high, or low temperatures and............tensile enough to weave into thread." He paused and held out part of his cloak "The Merchants Guild would be able to find buyers for your..............arms and posiibly the gold...........and diamonds. I would be more interested in securing .................labour."

"True enought, but it is still odd." Terk replied as a gizmet on his belt beeped. He picked it up and looked at it, "It appears the DiploShip will arrive within the hour."

"True enought, but it is still odd." Terk replied as a gizmet on his belt beeped. He picked it up and looked at it, "It appears the DiploShip will arrive within the hour."
''We will send a frigate to greet them.'' said the diplomat and pressed a button. The Intrepid was launched again and arrived at the rendevouz point in fifteen minuits.

An hour later the DiploShip arrived.

''This is the USSRSF Intrepid, commander Long-Claw speaking. Stay close to us and we will escort you to the station.''

"Lead on them." The DiploShip sent out as it followed the escort.

The ships approached Hangar Bay 28 and the magnetic shields were lowered. The two ships carefully docked and the shields were rised, the bay was pressurized and oxygen was poured inside.
A diplomat entered the bay and said to the Theao delegation:
''Good evening gentlemen, I will escort you to your quarters.''

"Lead on McDuff, lead on." The Ambassador said as they followed thier guide.

The embassy consisted of six room with a stair* leading from the lower three to the upper ones. It was all white and rather spartan when it came to furniture, and it completely lacked decoration. An interface on the wall allowed the room to adapt to the inhabitants wshes though.

*Not a stair as we know it today, more of a magnetic elevation enhancer that sends you flying upwards 'til you get to the second floor.

"So when would be best to set up the initial meeting?" The ambassador asked

''As soon as you'd like, the Diplomatic Corps always has at least three colonels on active duty at any given time.''

"Then could we set up a meeting?" The ambassador asked

''At once, I will summon the colonels.'' said the young officer and stepped over to the interface. Within a few minuits three older lions in uniforms entered the embassy.
''I am colonel Large-Mane of the Libertarian Diplomatic Corps.'' said the first.
''I am colonel Blood-Claw of the Libertarian Diplomatic Corps.'' said the second.
''I am colonel Whip-Tail of the Libertarian Diplomatic Corps.'' said the third.

"Greetings, I am Ambassador Mikan Vin. It is a pleasure to meet you." Vin said as he offered his hand to the three.

''Shall we..'' said the first.
''The commence..'' continued the second.
''Negotiations?'' finnished the third. The conversation was so perfectly timed that it sounded as if it was only one person who spoke.
The young officer sighed.
''Don't mind them, they're cloned.

"What are you interested in negotiating about?" Vin asked

''Mainly..''
''A trade agreement..''
''We have plentiful of various metals and jewels though we lack high temperature alloys and..
''luxuary food.''

"In terms of foodstuffs, we couldn't provide much as we do not produce many luxury foods. In terms of alloys, what kind of alloys are you looking for, military grade, construction, ect?" Vin asked

''Mainly construction grade for our fusion reactors. The Dictator's order to replace 35% of the windpower plants with fusion reactors nearly depleted our reserves.'' the three said.

"That would be workable, now what are you offering in return?" Vin asked

The three colonels looked at each other, having some quiet conversation.
''Cobolt, small arms, iron and military support.'' they said in unison.

"All of those we have, save military support, which we don't need. Do you have any other items to offer?" Vin asked

''Diamonds both of industrial and jewelry quality, gold, fertilizer, basic food, hydrogen, deuterium, tritium, bauxite and copper.'' they replied.
''If you do not need any of those we can send military instructors or hardware.''

"While we do not need any of that, the gold and diamonds would both be usefull and trade-worthy." Vin replied

''Then we shall give the order to commence shipping of those goods.''

"Alright, the location for trade is on this pad." Vin hands a datapad over. "Are there any other things you're interested in?"

''Not at the moment. Feel free to contact us if you are ever in need. May we both prosper.''

"Alright then." Vin replied as he shook the three clones hands.

The three colonels left the room, followed by the junior officer. Surveillance cameras were turned offline and the guards were told to respect the privacy of the delegates from Theao.

The delegates began settling into their quarters.
