as the reporters enter the room, a machine is set up onstage.
"good evening ladies, gentlemen, and others. Augra labs, one of Gelfland's most advanced labratories recently discovered a new type of forcefeild, this feild, dubbed the "quantum diode" seems to deflect objects travelling in one direction at a subatomic level, while leaving those travelling in the oppisite direction completely unaffected. thus far, we can only produce approximately 0.1% deflection, but as you see" the speaker throws a tennis ball through the large loop on top of the device, it bounces of the far wall, then upon it's return, stops in midair as it reaches the loop, then rolls offstage.
" even at this level the feild can have it's uses."
