Dear Conrad,
It has been too long, my friend, yet it doesn't seem to have been any time at all. I apologize for my abrupt change of address and for the misadventures that may come of my residence aboard an airship. Sending letters to an airshipsmen is rather awkward since airships _are_ in fact, the way that letters are transported internationally. What normally happens is that the letters are sent to the airship's next destination, where there will be a mail call. So, it may be a while before your letters get to me. Sorry about that, old chum.
We're headed for Copenhagen now, with no passengers. The ship came out to Vancouver just to pick us students up. Unfortunately, it is an incredibly long journey, a week and a half. It will, however, give me the time to get to know my crewmates, so I can't complain.
Speaking of my crewmates, Adam, my prefect from the Academy, is on board. Apparently, two com officers had a quarrel and were dishonorably discharged. So, Adam and I took their places. Still, it is a bit odd, that we should end up on the same ship.
On a completely different note, I am now in the ship's band, playing the baritone horn. We are to play in the lounge once we have picked up our passengers in Copenhagen. The captain, who plays the bass horn in the band, has decided to take this oppurtunity to learn new songs. So far, we've rehearsed Oh, Susanna, the Glendy Burke, and alot of ragtime that I don't recognize. The second mate is on trombone and does a _fine_ job of it, by the way.
Enough about me, old friend! How is your bridge engineering going? Are you quite well? I hope you are doing passably well, anyway!
Yours truly,
Tom
[you can write letters or journal entries, or whatever. Please, no wars]
[also, you can use locations in NS countries!]
