The Zeres System
Star Class: K2 Dwarf
Star Name: Zeres
Location: Edge of Milky Way Galaxy
The Zeres system is located on the outer edge of the Milky Way Galaxy, just bordering the expanse of nothingness beyond. It is an ancient star system compared to Sol's, and it is estimated to be around 12 billion years old. Most of the planets that are habitable have either been colonised or used for some other purpose(Or destroyed). There are six planets comprising the system itself:
Baal
Moons: 1
Population: 350,000
A desolate wasteland with a paper-thin atmosphere and erratic temperature, primarily used as a prison planet for the Triumvirate, those sentenced there have no chance of ever being released. The average temperature of the planet's ranges from -50 to 90 celsius, depending on what side of the planet is facing the sun.
Gares
Population: N/A
Baal's moon Gares isn't particularly useful to the Triumvirate due to its unbearably hot temperature, so hot in fact that it actually rains a wide variety of molten metal, giving it a glossy shine. It also releases a large amount of radiation for a moon it's size. Needless to say, it isn't colonised despite the high amount of metals, though it is currently being studied.
Marianda
Moons: 3
Population: 550,000,000
One of the more populated planet in the Zeres system, Marianda is 96% covered in water, with clusters of islands scattered far apart. It has a tropic climate year round almost everywhere but the polar ice caps, which are essentially the only form of land towards the poles. It is home to a wide array of sealife, ranging from the flying squid to the Tyrant Kraken which has been known to attack lone ships and settlements. Because of this, almosy all of the undersea colonies are located near some form of land, while the rich live in large island Mansions. Deep under the ocean is the location of the "Maranda Mining Station" one of the largest undersea mining stations aroung. The national dish is the Marianda Squid Salad.
Zoel
Population: N/A
An irregularly shaped moon, most likely a trapped asteroid, which is roughly 500km in diameter. Though it was once used by the military as an outpost, once the Gambit Military Base was built on neighboring Tamus, it grew obsolete and was eventually scrapped and scrounged by both military and scavengers for what as left. They supposedly left with everything of importance.
Gambit
Population: 450,000 military personnel
A large, crater-filled moon with a diameter of around 2,250km, it is was first mined for its iron ore by a merchant company centuries ago, but once they went bankrupt the military eventually began construction Gambit Military Base to help cement the Triumvirates Military Power. Housing a quarter of a million troops, this huge base is self sufficient with its own food and power supplies and enough weaponry to decimate an entire solar system. It is completely off limits to civilians.
Zecron
Population: 3,800,000 cultists
Home to one of the largest clusters of Zephon's priests off of Zelleria, this moon is also one of the most valuable areas in the star system. It is obsenely profitable, though mining on it is strictly regulated by the Zephon Priesthood. Primary among these is a strange type of faint purple crystal which is carried by each member of the Cult of Zephon.

Catharsis
Moons: 1
Population: 1,400,000,000
The most populous planet in the Triumvirate and controlled by Emperor Darius, aptly tittled as the "Enforcer of Catharsis". It is a planet of contrasts, ranging from the high-tech cities to the expanses of forests and mountains still home to the occasional minor tribe and the like. The government is the very embodiment of Catharsis' people, cold and relentless in the hopes of purity and order. The planet is also orbited by thousands of laser satellites, along with a few which conceal a vast array of missile pods. The wilderness is perhaps the only true escape from the pitiless denizens of Catharsis in the end, but camping is regulated by the government as well. The tribes outside of the cities are primarily agricultural or nomadic, since staying in one place for an extended period of time would mean being cracked down upon by the government. The planet is famous for its bleak sciences, primarily that of Genetics and Bio-Tech. The national dish is Kabalese Gumbo, a spicy and intoxicating dish with varying recipes depending on the chef.

Population: 15,800,000
Named after Darius himself, this satellite is almost completely covered in jungle and is a haven for anyone from scientists and explorers to outlaws and the like. Other than the main city of Horizon which houses around 2,000,000 people, there are almost no settlements on the moon other than those of fruit harvesters or scientists. The wildlife is also dangerous and most tourists who go to Darius would be wise to hire a couple of guides if they go out into the jungle. It is also the origin of a type of large eyed intelligent lemure-like creature which lives in the mountains, though whether they are sentient or not is still up to debate to the Triumvirate.
Laser Defense Grid
Population: 350,000
A large string of over 30,000 satellites armed with lasers, though quite a few of the larger ones also house missile pods. They are the main line of defense during the numerous civil wars they have been through. Only three times in the history of the system has the enemy made it past them. Scattered among them are also "decoys" to help camoflauge the others, along with more conventional satellites.

Population: 340,000,000
One of the most strangely beautiful planets, Zelleria's entire population is made up of Zephon's cultists, who work diligently protecting the planet from nonbelievers and heathens. Zephon's Main Temple is itself located near the very core of the planet, surrounded by shields and guards which have never even come close to being breached.

Valgo I
Population: 126,000
An abnormally large moon which is now primarily used for mining and as the solar system's trash dump. The air is breatheable, though the incineration of trash has made the air slightly toxic depending on the posisition you are in, and acid rain is not an uncommon occurence.
Valgo II
Population: 1,350
A highly volcanic moon nearly completely covered by magma. It is only populated by a few scientists within a research station near the equator there to field test equipment for the military.
Lower Asteroid Belt
Population: 192,600,000
An extremely thick asteroid belt which is habitated in a patch of asteroids stretching thousands of kilometers in total. It is primarily used for mining and a location to move space colonies out of the way so that they can't be used to crash into the planet, though sometimes the asteroids themselves become populated for a variety of reasons, most often to escape planetary law without having to pay the high amount to live in a space colony.
Ja-Hor

Population: N/A
An enormous red gas giant over two times as large as Earth's Jupiter. The gravity, heat, and radiation within it's atmosphere make it nearly impossible to spend any reasonable amount of time within it without heavy shielding, however the triumvirate still manages to make use of a few of the moons in its orbit.

Xantal 1: The closest moon which hasn't been enveloped by Ja-hor's atmosphere. It is essentially a large spinning fireball, with almost all of the surface covered in liquid iron and nickel.
Xantal 7: An icy blue moon dotted with volcanos, Xantal 7 is slowly spiralling towards the Xantal 1, and will smash into Xantal 1 and is due to crash into Xantal within another year or so. The survey teams have already abandoned it.
Kraite
Population 124,500,000
A desert moon the size of a small planet, it was colonised centuries ago by miners for its huge ore caches, which dried up shortly after, leaving them too poor to leave. Now with the resource Cache's gone it is under jurisdiction of the mysterious high general Kas, who keeps the populace under control through fear and military action. He has a deal with the triumvirate, and is thus allowed the power to rule the small moon. It lacks most water other than in its "capital city" Kraite City.

Twilight
Population: 24,000
A manmade moon built within the atmosphere of Ja-hor using advanced shield and stealth technologies. The planet remains hidden as it slowly moves within the highly destructive atmosphere of Ja-hor, remaining completely invisible to practically all forms of radar and detection. It's location is only known to the members of the Triumvirate, via an unknown means. Its architecture originated from the Yurka homeworld and it is visited by the triumvirate every five years. The planet itself is roughly 4000 years old.
Verial
Population: 8,460,000
A moon of exiled mutants from the genetic engineering age centuries ago. Their offspring are stranded on the planet, and the triumvirate has decided strongly against letting them off of the planet due to their unrest and abnormal abilities and mutations. Not to mention the fact that breeding with them might have unforeseen consequences for the rest of Nili's "perfect" genetically-sculpted races..

A series of mining moons currently being stripped of their resources by Catharsis miners. The 4 cities on the moons are mobile and will move on to other locations once finished there.
Dezoria

Population: N/A
A crystal blue gas giant composed primarily of liquid nitrogen where the temperatures within manage come extremely close to absolute zero in certain spots. Due to this it has not been explored fully due to the technical problems imposed and the Triumvirate's gaze drifting elsewhere. The surrounding moons are also next in line to be mined once Ja-hor's are finished with.
Arusia
Population: 19,800,000
Owned by Arusia Inc. the mega-corporation responsible for the production and development of lifelike AI, sentient androids, computers, and new battle suits for the military. It is run by Zack, the most advanced android ever created within Zeres' recorded history. He has been in control of Arusia Inc. since before the triumvirate was even formed, and is recorded to be well over 6,000 years old. The moon is heavily fortified and has been expanded beyond it's original size throughout the centuries to accomodate new weaponry and shields. Zack also funds his own army of mercenaries when invaders get by the waves of defense.

Zerom
Population: N/A
Zerom, the homeworld of the now-extinct race of insect-like humanoids which were completely wiped out 14,000 years ago during the great Zeres war. Now the entire moon is dominated by melted ruins and craters. Landing there is prohibited by the triumvirate.

Yurka
Moons: 14
Population:N/A
Located 3 light years away from Zeres, this planet, named after the star is the sole planet in a binary system. Yurka is included because it is also a member of the Triumvirate. The planet is a gas giant around the size of Jupiter, with a hot core and spirals between around the star Yurka. Only one of the fourteen moons has life on it as the others have been mined nearly bare.
Yuga
Population: 121,400,000
A moon the size of Earth, Yuga is a dark world which is now completely barren of resources, having run out millennia ago. Each day is about 30 earth days long, with it's year being around 600 days long. The plant and animal life on the planet has adapted to the environment perfectly, taking advantage of the geothermal pools and fresh water lakes dotting Yuga. The people on Yurka have mostly left the planet for greener pastures, creating a subrace that has evolved off planet. The parent race is the yuga, while the subrace is known as the Yurka. It has a very low amount of sun, which has also had an adverse effect on the inhabitants.

Racial Information
The many races which make up the Zeres system and beyond.
Cartherai
Origin: Catharsis
Now the dominant race on Catharsis and quite a few other areas in the Zeres system, the cartherai appear completely human on first inspection. Though if you were to call them human they would either take great offense or wonder what you meant, since humans are actually quite rare on most parts of the Zeres system. Physically, they tend to be weaker and much more frail, though they more than make up for this with their extreme intelligence and mild forms of psionics. Internally they lack the standard appendix and have numerous a much more efficient circulatory system, along with a series of glands on the base of the brain which help them regulate certain body functions. The Cartherai get along fairly well with the other races of Zeres and Yurka, either valuing them as equals or at least worthy to be a part of the Triumvirate. In fact, a few even feel inferior in some ways to the ancient Yurka and Yuga, which causes great mockery among their peers. The Cartherai have the following characteristics:

Able to breed true with Ashitare(though they find this a VERY touchy subject) and Kabal.

Once more bearing quite a resemblance to humans(and cartherai for that matter), the Ashitare and cartherai share a common ancestor, though talking about such a thing is considered quite uncouth. Thousands of years ago, during the great war, the Ashitare's ancestors were merely wiped out to extinction due to their technologically superior foes. After this near genocide, what remained of the once proud people were taken in by Darius' army and used to further augment them genetically. Though nowadays, the few Ashitare capable of passing the state-monitored intelligence tests are given full citizenship. Ashitare characteristics are:

The final and most recent race originating on Catharsis, the Kabal(or Kobal) are a slightly animalistic race created just over one thousand years ago. Originally created to be loyal soldiers, they were eventually bred to help "population growth" on distant planets. They are instinctively loyal, though there have been a few traitors in the past that went against the prevalent stereotype. The Kabal were created by crossing cartherai DNA with that of certain animals, then biologically augmented further for cosmetic reasons. Highly intelligent and playful by nature, they are often used on distant planets as scouts due to their heightened senses. Some common characteristics of the race are:
Heightened senses of smell and hearing.
Higher sense of balance and agility.
Slight Pack Mentality.
Very susceptible to sound based weaponry.(AKA: Dog whistles are extremely painful to them)

Yuga

An exceptionally old race from a harsh dark world, the Yuga were exploring space travel long before the other races, and stripped their moons of resources before the others were even contemplating space travel. However, due to morbid curiosity and an endless lifespan, the Yuga were eventually able to "force" evolution to take place, though how remains a mystery to all other races of the Zeres system. This forced evolution eventually led to the Yurka, though the Yuga still retain a prominent place in society. Yuga are almost always found in their home system unless they have a very good reason to be elsewhere, since strong sunlight has been known to seriously injure and wither them significantly if exposed to it for some amount of time. Typical characteristics of this race are:
Can see on the ultra violet range as well as the visible spectrum.
Extremely Sensitive Hearing.
Very Dense Muscle Tissue.
Can heal exceptionally fast.
Are highly susceptible to radiation, primarily sun-based radiation.

Yurka

The race "evolved" from the Yuga, the Yurka are essentially the same, only with slightly different attributes and mindsets. They are a bit more friendly than most Yuga, and sometimes even befriend the occasional one which they deem worthy. Being immortal, most of them seem a bit quiet and dull, but on the contrary they are always thinking every possibility through fully, but usually only if it is necessary. Unlike the Yuga, they can be found anywhere, and are primarily used on scouting missions. Though not as deadly, sunlight is still highly uncomfortable for most Yurka, though about 2% of the population seem to suffer no ill effects from it. The characteristics of the Yurka vary from the Yuga in the following ways:
Enhanced sun tolerance compared to the Yuga.
Heightened Hearing.
Heal slower than the Yuga, though they are capable to completely closing off their body if left in the vacuum of space. They can "hibernate" and live without air for up to 12 hours.
They eat significantly more than the average Yuga.

Zerom

Though thought to have been annihilated by the triumvirate some time ago during the great civil war, reported sightings of Zerom ships continue to be reported to this day. Though for what reason they remain hidden, they are very adept at it, since none have been captured, though the reports continue to come in, and as they do more and more people are finding it harder to disprove the "extinction" of the Zerom. Though if they do still exist, they seem to be in hiding, their characteristics were thought to be the following:
Extremely Quiet, with a language like that of a hive mentality coupled with scent trails.
Razor sharp claws.
Extreme agility.
Durable Plating.
The Government
Though originally a large group of monarchies, after the great civil war the government of the entire star system was brought under two rulers. This occured when Darius, one of the more powerful warlords in Zeres, sided with the outsider now known as Emperor Yurka. Together they were able to wipe out all of Darius' major enemies and take the system for themselves. Eventually they were also joined by Zephon, who literally appeared overnight, creating a vast cult through the workings of his miracles, eventually forcing his hand to make himself the third member. This occurred roughly four hundred years ago. Those who carry rank vary depending on whether they serve Darius the Enforcer of Catharsis, Emperor Yurka, or High Priest Zephon, though for the most part, the army remains in control of all three. Even then certain moons and planets retain their own titles and royal family, though they are still ultimately ruled by the Triumvirate. Even with all of this power, it is not unusual for new warlords to pop up and cause small rebellions every once in awhile, since Zeres is a large place, making it almost impossible to stop them all.

Title: Emperor Yurka
Bio: Yurka has been the sole ruler of the Yurkan empire for millennia, being one of the first Yurka to complete his evolution, he eventually united his people and returned to Yuga after an exceptionally long voyage. He quickly took control and from then on has been the life-long leader, which essentially means that unless he is assassinated, he will always be the emperor. He entered the Zeres system long ago and realised that the races there were killing themselves and would eventually die out unless he stepped in and did something. So he decided to help Darius, who had the largest military and resolve at the time, and together they were eventually able to bring peace to the system.

Title: High Executioner Zephon/High Priest Zephon
Bio: High Priest Zephon is the most recent addition to the triumvirate, joining 400 years ago during a religious revolution led by him. Despite Darius' constant attempts to assassinate Zephon and prove that he was nothing more than another mortal, he somehow always made it out unscathed, which slowly drew more followers to his calling. Zephon himself made it past the laser satellite network on his own, making it through without taking any damage to his small ship, known as "The Wings of Zephon". Even then it was only when he managed to bring a hundred of his most devout followers into the depths of Darius' palace was he eventually given the third seat. His ability to recruit followers is almost supernatural and he is a valuable member of the triumvirate, and even Darius excepts him now. His race is unknown by the triumvirate.
Military Battle suits

"Jump Suit"
Weight: 160lbs
The jump suit is the de-facto suit of choice in space for the common soldier due to its speed, maneuverability, and light weight. It is capable of extreme speeds and has enough oxygen to last 12 hours in the void. Its abilities are:
Light Exoskeleton: Capable of deflecting radiation, medium arms fire, and most small asteroids.
Temperature: Keeps the temperature inside of the suit at around 60-70 degrees farenheit.
Battery: Can go 72 hours without the need to recharge.
Oxygen: Enough oxygen to last 12 hours.
Helmet: Helmet contains special radio for communication. Neuro-interface also allows user to see at almost every angle(Except completely behind and above).
Magnetic Soles: Allowing the user to stick to hull of a ship, there is also a pair of magnets on the hands.
Thruster: Able to allow up to six full hours of flight with control of amount of thrust being used(AKA: Speed control).

The Goliath Battle Suit is used by both the heavy police force and the common ground soldiers. Taking around twenty minutes to get into, this suit is extremely heavy but manages to feel as if it were at most 20lbs thanks to the stabilizers. The suit contains the following:
Stabilizers to lower the weight for the wearer.
A helmet to keep in contact with the team, complete with side light and miniature mapping system. Also contains a Neuro-Net interface connected to the user's neuro-slot(If applicable) which helps the user survey the territory around him and send the details to his comrades to create a coherent overlay of an area.
Enhanced Exoskeleton: Allows the soldier to do physical feats that he normally could only dream of. The suit ups your physical prowess by 15x. The suit also allows protection from most small and medium weapon fire and EMP weapons.
Protected from the elements and all normal weather conditions. This includes fire, aquatic surroundings, lightning exposure, and if worse comes to worst, it can protect you from radiation and exposure to space.
The Goliath Battlesuit also includes a search-light, and three weapon-points which can be used to house any type of ballistic or light-medium artillery weaponry. Coupled with this is a fourth weapon point taking up most of the left arm, usually left to infantry-killers.

Arusia Speed Suit

The pinnacle of Arusia's suit technology, the speed suit is, as the name says, a suit which greatly increases the user's speed. There are numerous downsides to the technology and prolonged use may cause a heart attack or in rare cases seizures or catatonic shock. It includes such features also contains a cord which allows it to hack into any computer facility at the speed of thought. The suit takes about thirty minutes, half that for a trained professional, thus making it somewhat unreliable in real-time combat. Prolonged use is considered anything between six to eight hours without a one hour break in between, depending on race. The suits abilities are:
Very Light Exoskeleton: Lowers bodies' pain receptors and ups the user speed, essentially multiplying their speed and agility(Along with the way they distinguish time) by 5-10x depending on the specific suit and power. It also has the added bonus of quadrupling the user's strength.
Neuro-Enhanced Helmet: Allows user to see multiple spectrums and directions at once and plugs them all together in the user's brain, if prolonged use occurs it may cause seizures or in some cases catatonic shock.
Heightened Reflexes: Muscle and Reflex stimulating drugs are added to the user's bloodstream and spine via a small needle attachment in the back of the suit, giving them the ability to dodge most weapons instinctively.
Hacking Cord: Lets the user hook up to an outlet and hack into a computer, immediately sending the data to it's destination and keeping the rest on a backup.
Weaponry: Comes with built in weaponry ranging from miniature plasma cannons at the palms to super-heated photon blades and the like.

The Arusian Ripper, a battle suit unlike any other! Standing at a towering ten feet and covered in rippling anti-energy armor, this monstrosity is far more agile then one would think. With advanced hydraulic limbs capable of propelling it dozens of meters into the air or to rip open most forms of metal, these things were made for close-up battle. Each carries a large blade roughly 9 feet in length, which is capable of being doused in photons to help "rip"(it's namesake) through most armored foes. Though not able to fire any long-range weapons due to it's shielding, it is able to quickly reach land speeds of 200 mph, clearing most distances easily. Thanks to an advanced AI feature, it can continue fighting long after it's pilot has died or fell unconscious. The only downside would have to be the cost.
Superior armor created from an extremely durable and advanced living metal which allows a wide range of movement. Comes with an efficient anti-energy armor, which can handle quite a bit of punishment.
Able to leap roughly sixty meters thanks to advanced hydraulic limbs.
Two sensory tentacles allowing an extremely accurate imprint of an individual's surroundings. Never be sneak attacked again! Complete with most other visual and aural sensory equipment at the front.

One of the principal weapons of the Nili Police Force on Catharsis(AKA:The Military), the Standard Enforcement Tank is a force to be reckoned with. Though primarily used to combat terrorists and extremists, it is also commonly implemented in a variety of battles and wars. This depends however, entirely on the distance of the enemy and the type of weaponry they possess. Other than on the primary planets, it is nonexistent except in small numbers on out of system military installations. It is also used during sieges, as this weapon can stand up to almost anything nature can throw at it.

Colossus Class

Every country has their main type of battleship, and the Gargantuan "Colossus Class Battleship" is just that. There are only five which were ever created in Nili's history, and not all of them are exactly the same in regards to weaponry. The ships are, in order of creation... "The Black Wind", "The Judicator", The recently renovated "Darius I", "Darius II", and "The Executioner". The Darius II was later destroyed, and the Darius I was renamed The Conquest after being radically refitted. They are all vaguely the same shape and size on the outside, and serve as either warships, carriers, or a combination of the two. The following are the statistics of a typical Triumvirate Colossus-class ship, most having been recently retrofitted after a war with Kaduna. The Conquest is much larger and armed than this, and is tasked with defending the Zeres system against all threats.

The Harmony Class Ship was recently reintroduced to the Nili Space Forces after it was relieved of duty after a reckless general uses it against Zerom. The so-called "Purifying Beam" bathed the entire surface in so much radiation that it actually glowed for over eight years as a layer of the surface Eight Meters Deep completely vanished. This was possibly due to the heat released, which, unlike most weapons, was a rather gradual effect, taking roughly a seven hours of firing to completely envelope both sides of the Earth-sized Planet. From that point on the weapon remains unused, since it makes the planet uninhabitable afterwards. There are reportedly seven Harmony Class Ships under the service of the Empire.

Those found with high levels of which are seized by the government. FTL Travel becomes common even among transport ships.
52,000 BU - As the war escalates, only 500,000,000 people remain. This is roughly 10% of the population at the time. Yet the war only escalates.
51,000 BU - Numerous Planets are completely wiped of all life, and one is even destroyed completely, sending waves of small asteroids roiling through the system. All seems lost and only 100,000,000 on all sides are alive.
50,000 BU - A cease-fire is finally called. A peace treaty is also created, only to be ignored again centuries later as war once again reignites.
30,000 BU - Somehow the war has managed to continue with any exceptionally powerful weapons from ever being used again. Due to Cartharai genetics and the like, the remaining Ashitare are converted into a stronger workforce via genetic modifications. Cloning experiments are also conducted, and the population somehow manages to rise by .0005% every year despite the war.
18,000 BU - The war hits a standstill, though the Genocides continue.
4,500 BU - The Android "Zack" is created and decades later rebels, claiming his own planet. Due to his mechanized forces, he is left alone during the long times of war, though a few skirmishes still reach him on the outter fringes of the system.
3,000 BU - The man who would later be named "Darius The Enforcer" is born. He is born to a rather affluent group on Catharsis and slowly begins to take control.
2,500 BU - Darius is joined by the enigmatic Yurka and they quickly join forces. The reasons for this are later stated to be Darius' military, which was largest and thus making it the easiest one to assist for them.
0 AU - The Unification begins.
1,100 AU - Zephon's cult emerges and he quickly takes the third seat among the Triumvirate.
1,500 AU - Peace has been achieved, though small skirmishes are still a common sight in the system. Darius moves from body to body, retaining his rulership, as the other two rulers take a step back, allowing him to rule the system. However, Zephon and Yurka continue to have their voices heard behind the scenes.
1,506 AU - Battle of Kaduna: Emperor Darius is eventually killed, along with numerous space weapons, in an extremely bloody battle which almost rivaled the bloodbaths of old. The Zeres System mourns for his death as another seat opens. The Darius I is refitted and renamed The Conquest.

General
Culture
Nili's culture is rather varied. Ranging from the many cold, pro-science metropolises and cities of Catharsis to the warm, friendly people of Marianda. Kraite's population tends to be rough, and Zelleria's cultists are quiet and for the most part unknown to other non-cultists of Zephon. Bowing is the standard when meeting someone, though in most cases a slight nod of the head, eyes shut, will do. Women and Men are equal, though there is still discrimination against Ashitare, who are viewed as stupid barbarians. While the Kabal are usually viewed in a kinder light, they too are viewed merely as an inferior species.
Holidays
There are relatively few holidays on Nili, and to accurately put them on an Earth Calender would be impossible. The few that are there usually last roughly a week and are almost always historical in nature. Though the Cult of Zephon is an exception to the rule as always, having numerous holidays, at least one every 30 or so days.
Races
The primary races of the Nili System are the Cartharai, Ashitare, and the Kabal. Though there are also a few small groups of Yurka, their slow breeding makes their numbers exceptionalls small. The racial Statistics of Nili are below.

Religion
Religion has taken a backseat in the past millenia with the coming of technology. Though in the past, certain Cartharai with exceptional Psionic ability were said to be servants and messengers from the gods above, forming cults. Still, even with the genetic unlocking and study of psionic skills and other technologies, these cults continue today, though they are nowhere as abundant. Along with this, there is also the mysterious cult of Zephon, which makes up a rather large part of Nili's religious infrastructure and gains more followers every day. Though still, most people in Nili view religious things nonconsequential, especially with scientific immortality and the slow rise of technology. They are apt to believe that godhood itself is only a few centuries(at most) from their reach. Below are the last statistics taken for religion in Nili.

Psionics
Psionics have always been a large part of Nili, even now in this time of technology and advancement. From the lowest level Telepath to the highest level of magnetokinesis or Pyrokinesis. This is all due to a small series of glands in the brain, which when removed have caused a severe decrease in the person's psionics, as well as eventual death. This is mainly because the glands also assist in regulating numerous other body functions. Not only Cartharai, but also Kabal have this gland, and an extremely small amount of them have even shown up to a Level 3 Version of Kinesis. The following is a breakdown of the various Kinesis' which have been documented in the past, along with the percentage of individuals shown to possess said power. The few who possess more than one of these powers are even more rare, and are characteristically unstable, prone to getting sick, and usually kept in military labs or hospitals.
Note: It has recently been noted that certain people are prone to neurological damage from the use of said abilities, while others receive a simple headache from long use. Though with training, such side effects usually disappear with time and increase in control of said abilities.
Levels: Below are the government's characterizations for the many diffrent levels of Psionics. Most people with up to level 3 Psionics are usually left alone, but those who are of higher level are almost always require to have a license to use said power, or are taken away to have psionic blocks put in place. However, it is also not uncommon for these men and women to be hired under the government, which pays higher level psionists much more than their non-psionic counterparts.
Aerokinesis
Also related to Atmokinesis, is the power to affect the wind psychically. In Nili such a thing is rather uncommon, and the few who possess it usually consider it a simple parlor trick, like most other people. However, high level users are able to control moderately sized tornados, or even possess the power to knock over tanks and send smaller flight-craft crashing downward.
Level 1
The Aeromancer has the ability to Augment wind in such a way as to cause a simple small gust of wind to blow from their hand or the like.
Level 2
At this level, the Aeromancer is able to control wind to such a degree that he is able to form such things as miniature tornados roughly twelve inches high on average. Such a thing still requires eye contact and concentration, or else such a thing spirals out of control or vanishes.
Level 3
At the moderate level of power, the Aeromancer is able to control wind in such a way that he is able to control it at a distance, causing it to tip off someone's hat or cause a gust of wind to blow a skirt up. The user is also able to cause slightly stronger gusts of wind, which would be able to knock someone the size of an average small human child over with relative ease.
Level 4
At this level, the users power is such that he is able to, with enough concentration or time, cause a tornado or create gusts of wind strong enough to break glass. No less spectacular is the ability to lift oneself or others into the air for long periods of time.
Level 5
The highest level of Aeromancy documented, it is exceedingly rare and dangerous. With the power to create slashes of wind powerful enough to cut through metal, creating tornados on a whim, or creating a vacuum. Levitation at this point is simple, and with controlled gusts of wind an individual is able to move faster than most land vehicles.
Users of Note: Dyleck Zimmian, the fourteen year old "Demon of Kraite". He was able to cut through steel(Along with soldiers) using wind, knock over a reported ten buildings, and created no less than nineteen tornados at once before being apprehended. Upon his capture, he created a vacuum around a group of five soldiers, killing two of them. He has since been sentenced to cryostatis for the next five years until his trial.
Atmokinesis
The Psionicist capable of controlling the weather has been a rather staple in old Nili Legends, but as time went on such people with the ability began to slowly dwindle as time went by. Now such an individual who possesses Atmokinesis is one of the most rare individuals, the only type rarer that of the almost mythical Chronokinetic or the odd magnetokinetic. The maximum level ever seen in the last few centuries has been Level 3. It is also a rather uncontrollable weather, since once brought out only those with the maximum level have ever been shown to have any control of the relentless storms and droughts brought forth.
Level 1
At this level, the Atmokinetic is able to bring forth condensation from the air, causing a light mist around his person. Some are also able to create a small cloud or the like with enough concentration. Though not very impressive, it's rather useful for the odd gardener or as a refresher if the weather grows too hot.
Level 2
With this amount of ability, the Atmokinetic is able to fully create clouds or even small patches of fog, and causing small patches of rain is also not very difficult. The uses for this in this age of technology are rather scarce, though on Kraite such individuals are usually rather welcomed.
Level 3
At this level, creating it to rain in an area is rather easy, though on average it takes up to an hour or more depending on the climate at hand. Once this is done, turning the rain into snow is also rather simple, though whether or not it stays in this form depends on the climate at hand. Though more powerful, this is the highest level seen in the last few centuries, and is quickly disappearing as well. More than a few have voluntarily went into Cryostasis or had new bodies prepared so that they may live forever, to keep this type of psionic from dying out completely.
Users of Note: Zeras the Cloud Bringer. Roughly five thousand years ago this warlord on Catharsis fought valiantly against Darius' troops. He died, though ever since the valley where he fell has always been blanketed in a thick sheet of snow. Entry into the region is forbidden by Darius himself, though the reasons for this are unknown.
Biokinesis
Biokinesis has always been one of the more common forms of kinesis on Nili, at least at low levels. It is the ability to alter the physical body via conscious will ranging from bio-regeneration to manipulating DNA code and even healing cells so they do not age and die. At the highest levels, this can even be used to heal or harm other people as well, though this usually involves sharing blood or the like.
Level 1
The Biokinetic at this low level has a slight control of his body functions, able to detect certain illnesses before they take any serious effects. It is because of these people that Nili's biotech division makes such competent viruses and bacterium...
Level 2
At this level of power, one is able to actually defend oneself from viruses and disease, coordinating ones own body to fend them off. People of this level of power are very resistant to most forms of sickness, and are renowned as faster than average healers as well. Still, some viruses are still looked over by the Level 2's abilities.
Level 3
The user of this amount of power is able to heal most wounds in a matter of minutes, and anything out of place in the body is almost immediately detected. However, even then it is hard to classify some of the top of the line viruses and bacteria created by Nili, so whether or not a person is able to detect exactly where or what it is, is still left up to chance. At this level, a user is able to inflict superficial wounds on another person simply by touch.
Level 4
At this level the body itself becomes a fortress, able to defend from most wounds from mere instinct and healing in even less time. The ability to shift one's appearance slowly, or even turn hands into claws with time is all in the realm of possibility. The fear of disease is a thing of the past, and dying of natural old age is nothing to worry about, as the body is able to finally reconstruct itself at a molecular level, creating an extremely long-lived and dangerous individual. This is the level which would take Nili's penultimate super viruses, which kill within hours, just to have even the slightest effect. Surviving something such as this is easy, but it would usually create a long enough distraction to take said being out.
Level 5
Unfathomable power belongs to the impossibly few people who control this power of mastery, and this also comes coupled with insanity. Their bodies become somewhat like a bio-warfare factory, and their blood becomes either an elixir of healing or one of the most deadly poisons around. It is almost impossible for someone with this much molecular power to retain a human form, and spontaneous shifts are common among them when they're younger. Dismemberments, radiation, and even being frozen or left in the vacuum of space are merely ways of containing such a person. The only true way to stop someone such as this is with fire or a high-powered laser. However, even at this amount of power, something can repair itself only so many times with a limited resource like the Cartherai body.
Users of Note: Ambassador Obsidian, an enigmatic man who possesses powers somewhere between Level 4 and 5. He's roughly four hundred years of age, but his body stopped aging somewhere in his twenties. After living so long, it's been noted that his personality seems a bit off, and he now lives simply to inspire a bit of terror. Though in his eyes terror is simply another form of diplomacy. Despite his seeming loyalty, he is constantly monitored by Darius, in case the man's common sense should give way to dangerous ambition.
Chronokinesis
Chronokinesis is the ability to detect and possibly even alter the flow of time. This is usually considered an urban legend or impossibility to a generous portion of those in Nili, the government at least has taken note of a few beings possessing this ability. Of the few who claim to use this means, they usually acknowledge that all travel done is in "spirit", or somehow detecting things beyond the more common senses. The highest level users ever recorded are locked away in Catharsis in Temporal stasis to keep them from using their powers against the Triumvirate.
Level 1
This is the ability of precognition. It is essentially a spontaneous ability to see the future or past, though rarely and without control. Most people go their entire lives thinking this only a type of Deja vu, but in actuality this too is a form of Chronokinesis.
Level 2
At level 2 the power becomes semi-controllable, able to look into the past of an object up to a certain extent and see the area around said object.
Level 3
This is the ability to look into one of the more probable futures of the Chronokinetic, though it becomes less and less accurate the further someone looks. The ability to look in the past is also expanded.

Cryokinesis
Cryokinesis is a rather devolved form of Thermokinesis, but is actually rather common in small amounts. Anything from causing a chill in a room, turning water to ice, or in higher cases freezing steel to such a degree that a simple kick causes it to crack apart. Needless to say, the higher level uses are very dangerous when applied to the human body. Cryokinesis works be absorbing the heat in the air surrounding the individual.
Level 1
At this ability, the user is able to, at most cause a slight chill to his immediate surroundings. At this level it is somewhat difficult to control at times as well, especially when in use in an already cold enviornment, which makes the effect rather difficult to detect.
Level 2
At this level the user can use the power freely, and is capable of freezing an ice cube tray at about the same rate as a modern freezer. Not very useful, but a good way to waste time if one is bored.
Level 3
At this level of power, the cryokinetic is still only a minor annoyance, only a danger if one lets their guard down. With the ability to cause frost to form with a mere touch and the ability to cause a closed in area the size of a large room to hit temperatures of that of a civilian freezer, in the right circumstances this can even be somewhat dangerous, though it still takes a few minutes to use.
Level 4
At this level, the cryokinetic is finally able to be a threat to those around him. With the ability to cause subzero temperatures in under a minute, coupled with the ability to use this on living creatures, killing and freezing skin at the slightest touch, in close combat a cryokinetic can easily cause mortalities if he tries. However, when compared to most other kinetics, these powers still pale in comparison to their equals.
Level 5
At the highest levels, killing everyone around you in only a few minutes is simple, and freezing steel to the point of being brittle is also just as easy. Turning an entire floor into a deathtrap takes a few minutes, but at this level it too is easy if all the rooms are rather open and confined. Anyone possessing this level are always invariably taken in by the government.
Users of Note: None named are in recent history, though there is a serial murderer who is said to possess this ability. He is currently at large on the moon Darius.
Electrokinesis
Electrokinesis is the ability to manipulate electricity and electrical phenomena via conscious will alone. It is slowly becoming more common then it once was, and its uses as well are becoming much more mainstream and useful. Since that time there has only been a handful of reports of level 3 along with a single level 4 who was created by the Triumvirate, but eventually attempted to escape, killing himself in the process.
Level 1
At this level, the person is able to at most create static shocks at will if the enviornment permits. Not very affective, but still rather useful at times if someone is annoying you. It can also be used to erase sensitive parts of primitive electronics.
Level 2
At this level the use finally gets a bit dangerous, able to release small jolts of electricity when needed, even relying on the bodies only body chemicals, which slowly come to adapt to the quick drain this ability permits. Even at this level of power, a bit of water at hand goes a long way when expanding its uses.
Level 3
Able to remove electricity from the surrounding enviornment to a predetermined location is the primary use of a Level 3's power. By quickly taking on enough negative charge, one is able to quickly force all electricity in an area to come to you. Once conducted to you it may be released in any number of usually destructive ways. Control is an issue, and if not released, the pent up electricity can cause permanent damage.
Users of Note: Subject #15, who quickly burnt a hole through his cell and propelled himself upwards, taking out numerous guards and security drones using so much electricity that it resulted in the melting of them. It should be noted that the reason they even lasted as long as they did was due to a special type of plating. In the end, the use of so much psionics caused the subject to eventually drop dead. He is now in a vegetative state, and should be destroyed later this year.
Magnetokinesis
Magnetokinesis, an ability similar to electrokinesis, is the apparent power to control all forms of magnetic/electromagnetic fields psychically. This is one of the rarest, rivaling that of Chronokinesis in rarity. However, it is no less powerful, and the extremely few users of this are able to do extremely useful, albeit dangerous things. Regardless, anyone possessing this power is taken in by the military or put into statis upon being discovered.
Level 1
The power of magnetism is controllable at this level, and can be used to do anything revolving around repelling or attracting metal objects or the like. People such as this can still be rather dangerous, and are required to have a specialized certificate. Sensing such things nearby in the area is instinctive at this point.
Level 2
At this level, the user is able to use magnetism on a much larger scale, able to repel vehicles away or attract something(though not just that thing) from roughly forty feet away.
Level 3
The Magnetokinetic is at last able to control magnetic fields, though the size is roughly that of their body, it is still extremely powerful. Anything earlier becomes mere child's play, causing a car flying as simple as snapping a finger. It can also be done from a minor distance as well.

Photokinesis
Photokinesis is the ability to move any group of photons, to create beams of intense light, or remove light, creating darkness. It isn't that common or strong, but if used correctly it can be rather potent at higher levels of ability. The highest levels can even be quite destructive if used correctly.
Level 1
At this level, the Photokinetic is able to do nothing more than darken an area, or brighten it very lightly, usually unable to affect enough at once to cause any major effect.
Level 2
Photokinetics of this level are able to manipulate light to such a degree that they can create small patches of darkness or light around them. Some are also able to deflect light in such a way as to appear invisible to the naked eye. Though doing this is difficult and hard to maintain.
Level 3
At this level the Photokinetic is finally able to create widespread darkness or light over an area. As well as this, they are also able to create small bursts of photons, creating a very weak ray of sorts.
Level 4
At this maximum level, the user is able to achieve the ability to manipulate photons in such a way as to make them solid to the touch. Coupled with this is the ability to fire a more destructive form of photon ray than before, able to cut through most forms of matter at short range. Though doing this is extremely difficult, not to mention dangerous if it should come too close to the users skin.
Users of Note Ezrah Winters is a level four Photokinetic, and recently rose in rank to an advisor in charge of foreign trade and business.
Pyrokinesis
Pyrokinesis is the ability to excite the atoms within an object, possibly creating enough energy to ignite or melt the object. Pyrokinetics also have the ability to quell fires. It is actually a bit less common than Cryokinesis, at least depending on the climate the Cartharai is born into.
Level 1
At this level of power the user is able to heat a small room rather easily and efficiently, which has its uses. A relatively unimportant power, it is useful when trying to warm oneself on a cool night.
Level 2
At this level of power, the user is able to excite the atoms in an object to such a degree as to cause something to warm up in a more concentrated way. Whether warming a cool drink or the like.
Level 3
At this level the Pyrokinetic is finally able to reveal their powers in a more open way. Able to create palm-sized flames, they are also able to burn people with a touch, and heat rooms to tropical levels. All in all, rather useful, not to mention dangerous in the wrong hands.
Level 4
At level 4 the person is able to cause someone to burst into flames with a touch, or boil water with a thought instant. Slowly burning through most non-metallic walls is also a possibility.
Level 5
With this amount of power almost anyone who attempts to apprehend the person in close range is asking for a death wish. With the ability to melt most metals, burn people from a distance, and create a shield around oneself made up entirely of extreme heat.
Users of Note: Dejikas is the only known Pyromancer alive today to control up to level 5. He is a half-Kabal warlord in the mountains of Kraite. His apprehension should be relatively soon.
Psychokinesis
Psychokinesis, also known as telekinesis or remote influencing, is the ability to manipulate objects at a distance using the force of will alone. Hydrokinesis and terrakinesis can be considered forms of psychokinesis. It is a rather widespread term, and the second most common of all Psionics in Nili.
Level 1
At this level, the telekinetic is able to move small objects roughly the size of a penny or the like, causing them to shake. Nothing much, and not very useful... But at least it's something right?
Level 2
At this level, the user is able to move said penny a bit, or turn rather weak doorknobs and press keys on a computer from a distance. It takes a bit of concentration to get in the right state of mind however, so even some people who have the ability never find out how to use it properly.
Level 3
At this level lifting objects as large as chairs and tables are rather simple, along with the ability to levitate oneself with enough concentration. However doing such a thing is usually mentally taxing after awhile.
Level 4
At this level moving things is easier, and tipping a car is also rather easy if done quick enough, however like before, it can become rather taxing. Also to be noted is the ability to prevent projectiles from hitting the subject by quickly creating a large shield of force. However this shield of force is not unstoppable, and strong enough weapons can easily puncture it.
Level 5
At this level crushing a building with telekinetic powers is rather easy to do, as well as quick flight, and the ability to lift cars, trucks, and numerous other vehicles at once. This is quite spectacular, but due to the inhibitors in the brain ceasing function during this period of telekinetic power, it is also sometimes fatal if used for prolonged amounts of time.
Users of Note: General Karias has been said to have a level 5 ability in Psychokinesis, though he almost never uses it. He considers such things beneath him, and uses them only as a last resort due to the dangers it puts him through.
Telepathy/ESP
Extra-sensory perception, or ESP, is the name given to any ability to acquire information by means other than the five canonical senses (taste, sight, touch, smell, and hearing), or any other sense well known to science (balance, etc). Primarily telepathy, this also revolves around the augmentation of emotions and the ability to detect things through some extra-sensory means. This is the most common of all the types of psionics.
Level 1
At this level, getting a general "Feel" on what someone is thinking is rather common in those among Nili.
Level 2
At this level, the person is able to send mental impulses to other people. He is also able to more accurate predict something using EMP, but not very effectively.
Level 3
The ability to read minds and communicate mentally is now in reach. Coupled with this is a more complete ability to predict things with ESP. Altering another person's emotional state can also be done with the right amount of concentration.
Level 4
All of the above can be obtained easily, including mind control however something such as this is difficult against certain individuals with any amount of willpower, more so against those who are already EMP/Telepathy users.
Users of Note: The late Emperor Darius was said to possess some unknown degree of ESP and telepathy along with a small assortment of other psionics which he had somehow achieved via his numerous body snatches and experiments. During his supposed demise, scholars mourned the loss of ever learning if such stories were true. With his return, their elation is felt throughout the Psionic Research Community, and historians have been keeping a close eye on the Ever-Lasting Emperor.
Thermokinesis
Thermokinesis is the psionic ability to alter temperature by speeding up atoms. With this ability, you can change the temperature from blistering hot to subzero temperatures. This is really nothing more than a combination of Pyrokinesis and Cryokinesis, and as such will not go in length in descriptions.

Psionic anomalies manifesting in a sizeable portion of Nili's people is a constant concern, and an entire branch of the government regulates things revolving around the subject. These are the Nili Psionic Anomaly Regulators, otherwise known as the N.P.A.R. They are responsible for everything from research into these anomalies to abducting unlicensed users who may benefit the Triumvirate in any way. They have been around for the last thousand years or so, and their headquarters are located on Darius.

Darius, along with a small portion of his armada have gone to war with the war-mongering despot of Kaduna to put an end to his tyrany once and for all. As usual, Catharsis Millenium will keep our readers with recent information on the battlefield as it develops!
The Judicator, along with his triumvirate member Zephon have left the Zeres system on a diplomatic mission in The Abyssian Legions. He has taken with him a reported 50,000 of his followers with him for protection and to crew the massive vessel. During this time, his high priest, Zeria of the second order, will be in command of Zelleria.
Thanks to an unknown purchase from the Gene Mod manufacturer Anthropo Prime, the press has been rather rabid lately. However, Darius' cabinet members have kept quiet. New: It turns out the biological agent is to be used on the mutants inhabiting Verial. According to Darius' leading staff in the sciences, it should put an end to the mutations inheritant in their DNA, and allow them to once again begin citizens of Nili. Our hopes go out to Darius in his bold efforts of compassion.
A Science Class from Catharsis University 024 has gone missing after a field trip to Darius to research the indiginous flora. Police on the moon are taking a grim outlook on the missing group of twelve, chalked up to more casualties of serial killer affectionately called The Frozen Devil, called so due to carvings found on a few of the victims. If the Class is not found soon, they will help tally up his number of victims to 63 this year. We at Catharsis Millenium hope for the victim's families that they are alright.
Yurka has sent and funded a trip for some of Cartherai's students to attend training at a distant "Jedi" Academy. Among them is his personal thrall Zevin.

The reports on the battle of Kaduna have finally reached us here at Catharsis Millenium, and we are sad to report that the losses were tremendous due to a backstab by what we assumed were allies in a noble fight to overthrow a despot. In the end, our forces lost the Darius II, along with two Harmony class ships, and suffered casualties at roughly one hundred thousand soldiers. Along with that, Emperor Darius also lost his life, heroically charging towards the city before taking two major injuries, later proving to be fatal as he died on the ship back to Zeres.
Darius' Funeral is being planned this weekend. All top military and diplomats are invited to a private open casket funeral taking place on the moon Darius. Once the showing is finished, there will be a public funeral in Catharsis for all species of the Autocratic Triumvirate of Nili to attend.
It appears that High Priest Zephon will also be coming to the funeral. He will be giving a few words on his fellow Triumvirate member. Yurka will also attend, though it has not been specified if he will be saying anything.
Dejikas has finally made a full-scale move for Kraite, and has sent forces to take the capital city of the planet. At present, both forces seem unwilling to give leeway, and residents of the area are urged to stay indoors untill hostilities have finished. The government will attempt to send military police.
Newly inhabited Marianda city Verichi has mysterious vanished, aside from numerous small pieces of homes and buildings. As of yet, no bodies have been found, and it is speculated a Tyrant Kraken is involved. Bounty Hunters have been called in to handle it.
The ship formerly known as the Darius I is being drastically upgraded as it's name is changed to The Conquest. It should be finished in roughly a few months time.
Zack prepares to unveil his newest creation. He will be showcasing it at Emperor Darius' funerals. It will be the first weapon system created by Arusia with the right to sell to foreigners.
The Black Wind has been highjacked by a radical fringe group known as The Children of Darius. Led by one of his sons, who miraculously escaped cryostatis, the roughly 1,150,000 followers have escaped, and are currently at large along with numerous others who were previously frozen. If anyone has details where the Black Wind is, please inform us. Three Harmony-Class ships have also been stolen.

The Black Wind, having been recently discovered empty, orbiting a small star on the fringe of the Sagittarius arm, has been revamped and is once again serving in the Triumvirate's Space Fleet. Aboard the ship, Emperor Darius' body was also recovered in a hibernation pod, and his current replacement was quickly brought down and placed into cryogenic stasis in preparation for the Emperor's return to power.
An experimental Tachyon System, capable of momentarily converting itself and its crew into Tachyons has recently been employed by the Scientific Division on Catharsis. Lead Scientist Voder Gordrik stated that the system currently expends far too much energy to be used for larger military vessels, but he promises that within the next decade they should be finding use on the next generation of podships; these new podships will also be seeing their first use in the upcoming months.
A Meteor Storm headed for Arusia was recently rerouted towards the center of the Galaxy thanks to the valiant effort of the Nili Defense Forces. This is just in time for the Arusian Corporations Bi-Centennial Robotics Exposition. Tickets are still on sale for the remainder of the Catharsis Month.

Sons of Darius
The Sons of Darius, made up of Darius' most loyal supporters, they are led by one of his sons recently freed from cryostatis. Named, Azariel, he protests to being the rightful heir to the third seat. His continued existence is a thorn in the side of everyone in the Empire gunning for the first seat. Using his family, quite literally from cryostatis themselves, he has hijacked the Black Wind is has fled the system with three Harmony-Class ships as well. It is only a matter of time before his plans come to fruition. For over a century Azariel reigned over Darius' seat, but with the return of the original Emperor and the Black Wind was lost. With the Emperor's return, all of the vessels were eventually returned, and the men were all converted into obedient followers of Darius, or terminated.
