The governing council of Xanthal made its final ratification of the nation's new constitution today, after recieving the go-ahead from the former governments of Mirfak, Than, and Trasnia. With that ratification, Xanthal legally became a unified nation and the government elected last January formally took power from the three independent governments that preceeded it. The system governments of Mirfak, Than, and Trasnia, now without function, will disband on their own schedules.

Xanthalian Wazuka Isayama, the Mirfakan native who prevailed in the election, issued this statement to her people in her address after the ratification this afternoon:

"The Socialist Republic of Xanthal, once corrupted, lost its heart. Since the Abh took Aellis from us, the Xanthalian territories have struggled to overcome their own demons and retake their former glory. Now as we stand on this historic occasion, Xanthal is born again. It falls to us, the heirs to the legacy of the Lost Paradise to rebuild what once was.
"Older and wiser, we will adhere always to our ancestors' ideals: their fierce sense of justice, their unmatched integrity, their uncompromising sense of duty to their nation and the Universe. We will also learn from their mistakes. We will never lose sight of the individuals in our great society. We will not allow the corruption that took Xanthal to claim the government we build today: a government by the people and for the people of Xanthal, as well as for Xanthal itself.
"Comrades, it has always been our ultimate goal to build the perfect society; protected yet aware, agile yet stable, controlled yet able to control others. We all seek our own xanthals. I call upon this government and its people to never forget the brave vision of Ezekiel Zabertini, who built the foundations of this nation over one thousand years ago. Ezekiel envisioned a place where all people could live in peace, a land of equal opportunity, not forced equality. I declare the mission of this government to be the capture of that great vision. Let us pursue it as faithfully and boldly as our founder did so long ago. Comrades, I declare to you; Xanthal is renewed here, today, and I and the government I am a part of will make it our solemn duty to restore paradise to all the people of this nation. Thank you."
