OOC: Yes, I'm restarting my nation. Going a slightly different path this time.

Please feel free to join in when they start to explore the planet. Or, before, by discovering the ship.

Disciple Jerras sat there, looking at the report again. There was no way that could be accurate. And yet, it was. It almost made him wonder if this was more of Yisha's work, but he quickly discounted that. If it was Yisha's work, this Age would be the greatest creation to ever exist, and he doubted that even she, the Grower, had that much power. And yet, the picture before him, taken by the dreadnaught, had to be real.

"Are you sure this is perfectly accurate?" Jerras asked through his Kirelto.

"Positive. This definitely isn't something in any of our Books. Sir, I think you should gather the Council together. We are going to head back towards the Known Ages, and maybe we'll be able to find out more the next time we are out this way. We're already carving a Bahro Stone of the place in case you wish to send someone out this way to investigate. In the meantime, we're looking for where Riven is located at. Maybe we'll get lucky and find it in this galaxy. I would hate to have to use our remaining power pearl to send the ship there," General Normakof said.

"No worries about that. We have a few spares in one of the production facilities. You can use a certain Linking Book to get to it. May Yisha's Teachings guide you," Jerras said.

"And may her prophesy be stayed," Normakof answered, ending the communication.

The other Council members were also there, looking at the hologram from Jerras's kirelto with interest. It was not often they saw such a picture from their end of the universe, but to find out the planet had a twin in the same galaxy? And, worse, the possibility of a twin also meant the possibility others had the ability to write Linking Books, though Jerras seriously doubted that they did. The Art of Writing the books was limited to D'ni and their descendents, the Yisharo.

The Yisharo, primarily human when they began, came centuries after the fall of D'ni and discovered the ruins of the D'ni. It took many, many years of rebuilding before D'ni proper was ready for habitation, and longer for them to move from pure exploration of existing Ages to writing their own. It was under the gentle guidance of Yisha that they first found D'ni, and under her guidance that they came to understand the city and, through it, the mistakes of the past. It was also her tutelage that taught them to Write, to create the Linking Books to the various Ages. And, to those who were the best, she passed on the secrets of writing the Relto, the High Place Age, that every Yisharo owned one of, as it was the Age that required the greatest skill to write, due in part to the writing allowing for the Relto Linking Book to travel with the person who used it. Thus, the Relto was unique among its kind.

"Disciples, this is very disturbing. What force could create a copy of an Age? Only Yisha had that power, and she we all know to be long dead. It is she who restored Myst, the Age we use for out seat of power. None shall ever equal her power, was what the prophesy said. And yet, here is evidence that someone has. Disciples, we must retreat to Myst and consider the ramifications of this revelation. This is not something we can simply allow to go uninvestigated," Disciple Morahnot said, his pale face showing brief signs of life in it.

"I agree, but we cannot rush into this with only ignorance as our guide. We need to know of that which we go into before we can make a decision on what to do with what we have discovered. Disciple Jerras, I want you to take a group of Maintainers and go to this new Age. Find out what you can, then return and report to us. Perhaps you will find some evidence of the matter we are considering," Disciple Geranor, current leader of the Council, said.

"But Fellow Disciple, we do not know what conditions are on this world. It could appear habitable and be poisonous to the touch. I must advise caution," Morahnot said.

"And caution I am sure he will have, Disciple. Jerras did not make the Council just because he knows politics," Geranor said.

"Perhaps, Disciples, I can make a suggestion. We already have a ship nearby. Why not use its crew to explore the planet?" Disciple Norah, the newest to the Council, asked.

"Hmm. Using a ship that already is nearby would be efficient. I still prefer a Disciple to be on hand to observe the events. This way, we get a first hand account of the planet. Do any Disciples oppose?" Geranor asked. When no one spoke up, he continued speaking. "Jerras, go to the Yisharotahno. You will be the Council's eyes and ears. But first, let us enjoy this feast. I do not wish to send you off without at least enjoying the results of your labor."

"Any thing new to report, Patrol 73?"
"We've picked up some unusual activity, but nothing I've been able to pinpoint or find signifigance of. Unless it escalates, I'm dismissing it as probable anomaly."
"Understood, 73. Report back if it does escalate. O and O."
Flipping off the TacCom, Yeth reclined his pilot seat between ready and sleep position so he could kick back and still keep an eye on the scans. Like many patrols, he seldom had anything to do. After all, he thought to himself, what were the odds some alien race would just pop out of nowhere right in front of him?

OOC: Muktar has patrols in many neighboring systems. If they are inhabited, the patrols remain in neutral territory in the system. Makes it real easy to set up first encounters.

OOC: The technology website: http://www.freewebs.com/demonlordenigma/index.htm

The location of the new DLE is on Earth, specifically under North America. At least, that's where D'ni is. This new DLE has humans galore in it, though they call themselves Yisharo, and the people speak D'ni, English, and Spanish. This means D'ni can be attacked by Earth nations, though I wouldn't advise it due to how far underground it is. The technology site is not up to date on the front page, but the ships all are (except for fuel). The ship in question is the Dreadnaught.

IC post comming later today due to real-world issues.

Jerras shook off the link confusion, the internal instability at leaping thousands of lightyears through space to arrive at a location. It was typical of the links between Ages that had extreme distance or, in some cases, extreme time between them. After all, the Linking books reached through both space and time when making their connections, which is what allowed Yisha to even reach into other timelines when she made some of hers.

The one thing that had always puzzled scientists was why the link was undetectable. And, considering they did have proof that the linking process crossed both space and time, they knew that not all Ages existed in the same era. In fact, it was the original belief that each Age existed in a different era of time that first gave them the name. Or, so the theory went.

It wasn't until someone, using wild speculation, tried to link back to pre-fall D'ni that they discovered certain rules existed. The person, rather than appearing in ancient D'ni, actually ended up travelling forward four years in time. Then they discovered something inexplicable: They could link sideways and forward through time to the same age, but not backwards. The reason why they later discovered to be an interesting interaction between the symbls of Writing Ages and the real space in which they existed, an interaction that could not be undone no matter what.

Normakof stood at attention, haveing been surprised at hearing the changed mission. It was not often that Gahrogahreesahn was given an exploration mission, especially when one considered that Gahrogahreesahn was Written as a warship, and so far was the only ship in the DLE fleet to also be an Age. As such, it was in a unique situation, and it was also going to be the only of its kind.

"Welcome aboard, Disciple. How may I serve the Disciples of Yisha?" Normakof asked.

"I need a tactical readout of the planet. If we are forced to assault it, I would like to know what we are dealing with. I will also need you to choose a special team for this mission. We will need to be ready to explore at a first opportunity. And, I need quarters for my stay," Jerras said.

"That all has been arranged. We were still in system when we recieved our new orders. We've managed to complete a few scans of the planet. Sir, it's a dead world. The atmosphere is unbreathable due to air pollution, the oceans are too full of toxins to support life, and the land itself is either poisoned or radioactive. Not even cockroaches could have survived whatever killed this planet. Disciple, I hate to say it, but I think the best thing we can do is burn this planet and leave. I'm even ready to use the power pearls necessary," Normakof said.

"And you were put in this position because of your sound tactics. But in this case, I want to know a few things about this planet before we simply destroy it. We will destroy it as you suggest, and I will take responsibility for giving the order, but I do have orders to carry out. I am just sorry that we cannot begin the process now," Jerras said.

Normakof nodded and turned, ready to lead the Disciple off towards the inside of the ship. Then, he paused, the light on his kirelto flashing to indicate a communication for him. Curious, he activated it.

"General, we have a problem. We have found an enemy ship, and we suspect they know we are around. Worse, they are near Earth," a voice said.

Just ten minutes earlier, near Mars...

"Sir, we're picking up anomalous readings. It appears to be moving," Lieutenant Garah said.

"Investigate," Captain Nermah said.

He felt the ship begin to cause his equilibrium to slip, the results of the graviton jump drive powering up. Then, to all observers, the ship simply vanished, only to reappear in front of the Muktar ship, where it quickly tried to get out of the way. It was at that moment that Nermah decided to contact Normakof.
